TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF AMBATO FACULTY OF HUMAN SCIENCES AND EDUCATION CAREER OF TOURISM AND HOTELERY INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH I 5TH. SEMESTER Members: Milton Naranjo, Teacher: Alba Hernández, Mg. Topic: Outcome 1 – “Jobs in the future” Date: April 25th, 2019 Objective: To employ grammar related with periods of time for applying the correct use of English language skills. ACADEMIC PERIOD MARCH - SEPTEMBER 2019
1) TOPIC: JOBS IN THE FUTURE
11
2) OBJECTIVE: To employ grammar related with periods of time for applying the correct use of English language skills. 3) INTRODUTION
One of world’s most pressing concerns in the next few decades will be jobs keeping those that exist today and creating new ones which today’s management practices and policies would not be equipped to deal with. The biggest cause for concern is the accelerating advances in information technology (e.g., artificial intelligence) in today’s increasingly “autonomous economy” which may radically reduce the human role in production of goods and services. World Economic Forum (2016) estimated that by 2020, technology would produce 2.1 million new jobs. Although the future reality may not be as dark as forecasted, even the most optimistic predictions acknowledge the likelihood of largescale worker displacement due to technological advances.
4) DEVELOPMENT Influential trends that will shape the jobs of the future include: global integration; technological innovation; an ageing population; collaboration and cross disciplinarily; increased participation of women in the labour force; continued economic shift to Asia, scarcity of natural resources; migration. According to (POMPA, 2015) “Mention that the key sectors covered where these trends will have impact include: health and social assistance, construction, technology and big data, manufacturing, hospitality and tourism, creative industries.” Technology is changing the way we see the world and how we relate to the evolving labor market and in what fields should be concentrated and trained in different areas or topics to meet the needs of the future, with our career Experts as you discover how the job market, company structures, and professional roles are transforming. What skills are businesses actually looking for How will these opportunities look in the future. We present the presentations that will be valid in the year 2030.

Technology According to (insperet minds carrer 2030, 208) mentions that these careers in the future of humanity and the technological. Future trends in employment and skills needs, along with current and potential gaps of required skills for future jobs were identified through interviews with a range of experts. These experts included national labour market specialists in research institutes and think tanks, Labour Ministry officials and/or government affiliated research bodies specialising in the labour market issues, investment fund managers to assess future trends in investment and likely employment implications and major companies international and national currently prominent in the labour market. According to (Pompa, 2015) talks about the sectors and technological innovation are changing the global workforce landscape. The adaptability of institutions, the private sector, employees and policy makers will determine their success.
What jobs will there be a need for in the near future? Now more than ever the rise of the robots has never been so real. The job market is evolving and if predictions are correct nearly 100% of jobs in the future will be affected by advances in technology. It seems like in almost every industry computer are taking on a more significant role. Industry 4.0 is here, and it includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things, cloud computing and cognitive computing. Industry leaders and CEO’s in many industries are currently making people redundant because their jobs are being automated. According to (Cetron, Jun 1983) “mentions that Workers must be retrained to fill the new jobs created by technology. Twenty-one occupations expected to become increasingly important are described. Competent teachers must be attracted to vocational education, and teaching methods must be updated. Education must equip people to change”. AMBATO – ECUADOR
MARCH – AUGUST 2019

1) TOPIC: PLACES TO VISIT ON THE ECUADOR COAST
2) INTRODUCTION.
Ecuador is a country of spectacular variety and beautiful scenery. From beaches to volcanoes, you can expect to find almost any kind of environment here. These means Ecuador’s tourism opportunities are some of the best in the world. It also means that there are a lot of activities to enjoy in this country. Best of all, Ecuador offers the opportunity to enjoy the ruins left behind by the Amerindian cultures that populated this county many years ago. It also gives easy access to one of the greatest rainforests in the world the Amazon besides the Amazon, the Galapagos Islands have much to offer the intrepid adventurer. You will never run out of things to discover when you visit Ecuador. 3) DEVELOPMENT
3.1 MONTECRISTEA According to (cummnis, 2016) mention that, Locals shout from the rooftops that Panama hats are actually from Ecuador. The misconception dates to 1906 when the president, Eloy Alfaro, ordered more than 200,000 hats to be sent north for toiling workers constructing the canal. US president Theodore Roosevelt was pictured in newspapers wearing one during a canal visit and the name “Panama hat” stuck. The hats originate from the toquilla palm shoots farmed around Montecristi and there’s no better hat to be found than the tightly woven superfinos. They are far cheaper here than outside Ecuador but top-quality hats still fetch several hundred dollars (standard hats are far cheaper at under $50).
Montecristi itself does not have a wealth of tourist attractions beyond hat shopping but its status as Alfaro’s birthplace, a hero of current president, Rafael Correa, has raised the town’s profile. A museum documenting the life of Alfaro is fascinating, together with a spectacular copper sculpture in the mausoleum. There are very few good accommodation options in Montecristi so go to the fishing village of La Crucita (an hour by bus via Manta), which has an emerging kite-surfing scene. Stay at beachfront Hotel Voladores (doubles from $30)

3.2 BAHÍA DE CARÁQUEZ
According to (haslam, 2015) mention that,This small city has a spectacular location on the coast, perched on a sandy peninsula reaching from the mouth of the river Chone into the Pacific. It’s arguably the most ecologically sound urban area in Ecuador, thanks to a well-organised local effort. Around town, the museum Museo Banco Central has an excellent archaeological collection from the country’s oldest civilisation, Las Vegas that lived on the Santa Elena peninsula to the south, from the eight century to the fifth century BC. Climb up the hill to Mirador La Cruz for spectacular views over the peninsula. The best eco-tourism is found on an excursion through the mangroves to Isla Corazon, which has a large frigatebird colony.Stay at La Herradura (doubles from $50), which translated means “the horseshoe”, it’s one of the best hotels in town with an eclectic decor of saddles and wagon wheels
3.3 MACHALILLA NATIONAL PARK AND ISLA DE LA PLATA
According to Angela drake (2017) explain that, this national park is one of the country’s few protected coastal regions, and boasts stellar scenery of tropical dry forest leading directly onto pristine beaches. Isla de la Plata, 25 miles off the coast is rather unfairly tagged “the poor man’s Galápagos” for its populations of frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies, as well as a small colony of sea lions. From June to September, humpback whales converge on these waters, with great opportunities to watch them twirling out of the ocean. The mainland national park contains tropical dry forest and cloud forest, and the crescent-shaped Playa Los Frailes is arguably the most beautiful beach in the country – and often deserted. 3.4 CANOA According to Ben Westwood (2016) mentions that. Although badly hit by the April 2016 earthquake, this fishing village has recovered and is still one of the most pleasant resorts in the country with a small, friendly, expat community. It’s also an excellent surfing spot: the 10 miles of beach break with no rocks, riptide or reef are good for beginners and advanced surfers, and it’s popular with kite surfers later in the year. For a taste of the region’s burgeoning eco-tourism, 7
8
10 miles north of town is the Rio Muchacho organic farm, which produces fruit, vegetables, jams, coffee and chocolate. The farm can be visited on a one-day tour or you can stay for a few days. Ride horses, catch freshwater shrimp and make your own organic dinner. 3.5 SANTA ELENA AND SALINAS According to (ben, 2016) mention that, just outside provincial capital Santa Elena is Museo Los Amantes de Sumpa. Around 200 skeletons were unearthed at this site in the 1970s, including the “Lovers of Sumpa”, a man and a woman found in an 8,000-year-old embrace. There’s no bigger contrast between old and new than the nearby resort of Salinas, a wannabe Miami Beach for Guayaquil’s rich set. It’s a comparatively expensive resort but has two sheltered beaches. The resort has thumping nightlife in the high season between December and April. Cocos (doubles from $40) is the best budget option on the waterfront of Salinas, or splash out on colourful ecolodge Hosteria Ecológica el Faro (doubles $100 B&B) with spacious rooms and tropical gardens with resident parrots and monkeys 3.6 MONTAŇITA Accordin to (franco, 2015) explain that, Tourists visiting Montana, men and women arrive at the destination in different ways from several continents, mostly are singles, whose most valued motivations were enjoying the sun and the beach, followed by resting, which shows that, the beach becomes the biggest tourist attraction of this place. A Latin American beach party takes some beating so, if you’re looking to dance the night away, go to this surfer-friendly village. Those seeking a quieter beach break should head further north. For surfers, the rideable breaks reach two-to-three metres on good days, while for partygoers it’s busy at weekends, particularly between Christmas and Easter. Hola Ola and Caňa Grill are long-standing hotspots for drinking and dancing. Stay in the bamboo bungalows of Nativa Bambu (from $110 B&B) on the northern edge of town. 3.7 ZARUMA According to Zaruma (2015) with a past rooted in gold mining and a present highlighted by excellent coffee and experiential tourism, Zaruma, a city in the southeastern province of El Oro on the Andean ridge of Vizcaya, is one of 22 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Ecuador. The city, founded in 1539 by gold-seeking Spanish conquistadors, clings to a mountainside with narrow streets that zig-zag around many buildings of historic value. Zaruma and the nearby city of Portovelo became mining centers under Spanish rule and thousands of gold shipments were 8
9
sent to Europe from here. Officials and residents are now determined to make Zaruma renowned in different ways by boosting tourism in this coastal region. According to Ben Westwood (2016) explain that, A hilltop town in the southern Andean foothills, the pace of life in Zaruma is reassuringly slow and best enjoyed over a cup of coffee (the finest in Ecuador, it is claimed). It’s worth exploring the town’s mining heritage – the story goes that a local miner found a huge chunk of gold here in the 16th century and sent it to Spain as a gift for King Felipe II. The king promptly reduced taxes from one fifth to a one sixth of income, giving the El Sexmo mine its name. It is now a tourist attraction with an accompanying small museum. The dramatic hills in the region offer great walking and nearby Bueneventura reserve is rich in wildlife, including monkeys and 24 species of hummingbirds.
3.8 PUYANGO PETRIFIED FOREST According to Ben Westwood (2016) the largest petrified forest in South America covers about 6,000 acres in the south of Ecuador, just five miles from the Peruvian border. Experts believe that a volcanic eruption followed by a flood caused the petrification. Follow the trails to see fossilised plants, fish and ammonites dating from the Cretaceous period embedded in the tree trunks. The surrounding tropical dry forest hosts 130 species of birds, and a plunge in a stream is a welcome cool-off. Puyango is not very accessible but a couple of buses daily run to and from Machala (2.5 hours). The Puyango Petrified Forest, or the El Bosque Petrificado de Puyango, is a very unusual reserve. It is home to the largest known area of exposed petrified wood, of which a lot comes from the Araucarias family - a tree that is not often fossilized. Forests like this are not easy to come by, as trees that are dying will normally just decompose. However, here we have an excellent example of fossilized trees and marine fossils due to the dry nature of the ecosystem. The marine fossils that you will find in the forest occur because of the area having once been completely under water. The area is estimated to be about 500 million years old. 4) BIBLIOGRAFY
