Designers: Michelle Luo, Yao Tong, Pin-han Lyu

The Buses in taiwan We’ve noticed that the bus-taking population consists of mostly elderly people. As most bus drivers are reckless in Taiwan, we’ve also noticed that the bus transportation system is not very friendly towards this group of people.

Throughout the research, we’ve found out that many seniors are unsure when their bus is going to arrive, or when to get off. We’ve also discovered that many seniors are smartphone users, but many find the current commute apps are difficult to use. Therefore, we decided to create a smartphone applications for seniors that is easy to read and to use.

With simple steps and sorting fuctions, one can easily pick the shortest route.
BUS TIMETABLE We’ve enlarged the text on the interface, and included an APP reminder before arriving at the stop. This decreases the stress the user was experiencing.
Displays the spots nearby (ex: hospitals, schools, restaurants, etc)
SIMPLIFY We redesigned and simpliďŹ ed regular commutes APPs, removing unnecessary functions. We also included automatic sorting for the fastest route for the user.
REMINDER The APP detects where the user is currently located, using the vibrating function to remind the user that it is time to get o the bus.

waiter A UX service and app design for restaurants
Waiter is a concept design for large upperclass restaruants. This concept combines redesign of the restaurant service and augmented reality application design using IoT
Designers: Michelle Luo, Yao Tong
10
Modern-day resturants Restaruants today still require human effort to input information and sometimes we make mistakes! This causes an entire operation to slow down, causing customers to be unsatisfied, and inefficiency.
Massive data runs though high-class restaurants on a daily basis, and these are passed around through human effort. With human effort comes with human error; if an error were to occur, the entire operation of the restaurant would be less efficient.

Waiters are faced with thousands of information each day, from taking orders to serving. They are often under a lot of stressful conditions.
service redesign With IoT and augmented reality technology, the wAiteR system is able to collect all the information and is stored inside a cloud computing system, and at the same time guides the waiters: when to collect orders, where to serve the orders, and being in sync with the kitchen.

lifejacket graveyard There is an enormous pile of lifejackets on the shores of Greece left by the Syrian refugees while eeing from their war-torn country. Through cooperation with a local charity foundation, we take these used life jackets and upcycle them, giving them a new life, and bringing it into the market. We hope this project would not only bring attention to this topic, but also bring job opportunities and help them rebuild their lives.
GOAL We hope that the Syrian Civil War gets as much attention as the other international incidents. We want to help those who are unaware of the news understand more of what’s going on in Syria, bringing in more

We hope to oer jobs to refugees so that they could make a living and earn back their dignity. Those who purchase the products can further understand the issue, and provide support to the refugees.
We do hope the Taiwanese could become aware of the issue that is going on, and take part in the international crisis.
1. Taking Apart the Lifejacket and Materials Research We ďŹ rst take apart the lifejacket, separating the materials into three categories: foam, water-resistant cloth, and buckle.
Water-Resistant Cloth
EVA/EPE Foam
Buckle and Straps
Protection from Water
Protection from Impact
For Easy-Carry
ConďŹ rming Product Type Since the lifejacket foam has the function of lowering impact and the cloth of the lifejacket is waterproof, we thought it could be used as protection for 3C products. These products have become a part of our modern-day society, therefore we have decided to create laptop bags, iPad pouches and travels bags from these materials.
