Vision: To create a healthier community free from the grips of substance use disorder.
Mission: Addiction Solutions of Nantucket’s mission is to support Dr. Timothy Lepore’s and Aline Wommack’s Medication Assisted Treatment clinic which provides exceptional patient care to individuals with substance use disorder, regardless of ability to pay. We are dedicated to providing education and consulting to our community regarding screening, behavioral health, intervention, referral, and treatments.
WHO WE ARE
Addiction Solutions of Nantucket has been serving patients since 2005 through the private practice of Dr. Timothy Lepore. We became a 501c3 non-profit in February 2018.
This year has marked a turning point for our nonprofit with the support of our Board of Directors and professionals who have generously donated their time and expertise to reach our 2024 goals.
As we approach the end of the year, the holiday season is a time for giving and spreading joy, but we must not forget about those who are battling addiction. Support and understanding can be the greatest gift we can give to those struggling with substance abuse disorders during this time. By highlighting the importance of support and bringing attention to organizations like Addiction Solutions of Nantucket, we can make a positive impact and help create a supportive community for those in need. So let’s remember to offer our support, spread awareness, and make a difference this holiday season.

Addiction Solutions is a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) pr ogram. ASN uses many medications to help individuals stop using illicit drugs or alcohol by substituting prescription medication in a controlled manner to prevent the discomfort of withdrawal, on-going urges to use drugs or drink, and for maintenance therapy. Some of the key medicines include:
A medicine used to control opioid withdrawal, illicit opioid use, and maintenance therapy. Suboxone blocks the effects of getting high, and pain control.
SUBUTEX (Buprenorphine)
A medicine that is a different formulation, because the Naloxone is not included. Subutex is used for individuals who may be facing surgical procedures or who may be pregnant. Subutex can be used with other medication for pain control.
NALTREXONE
A medication used to treat both opioid or alcohol use disorders by helping to block the effects alcohol or opioids, helping control the urge to use, as well as preventing intoxication.
VIVITROL (Naltrexone)
This is an injectable form of Naltrexone that is given in a shot every twenty-eight days. Vivitrol works to control the urge to drink or use opioid drugs, blocks effects of alcohol or opioids, and helps to prevent intoxication.
ANTABUSE (Disulfiram)
This medicine is effective in controlling the urge to drink by blocking an enzyme involved in breaking down alcohol. Antabuse produces very unpleasant side effects when it is combined with alcohol.
CAMPRAL (Acamprosate)
This medicine is effective in controlling the urge to drink Alcohol by stabilizing certain brain chemicals.
SUBOXONE (Buprenorphine/Naloxone)

RACE FOR RECOVERY
Addiction Solutions of Nantucket proudly hosted its annual Race for Recovery on September 28, 2024, marking another successful chapter in our ongoing commitment to support those battling addiction. This event isn’t just about racing; it’s about racing towards a future where everyone has access to the help they need.
This year, the turnout was truly inspiring—as over 350 runners and walkers laced up their shoes to show solidarity and raise awareness. Thanks to the incredible support from our community, generous donors, passionate volunteers, and dedicated sponsors, we raised over $120,000!
These funds are crucial. They will allow us to hire much-needed medical staff at our clinic, ensuring that every patient receives comprehensive care. Additionally, the money will help cover the rising costs of medications, allowing us to serve an increasing number of patients seeking recovery support.
Your participation and contributions are vital to our mission to provide life-changing resources and support to individuals and families affected by addiction. We couldn’t have done it without each of you, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
Thank you for helping us make a significant impact in our commun ity. Together, we are paving the way to recovery and healing.

The following films, Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and res ources are made available from Addiction Solutions of Nantucket. The films and website were designed to 1 ) serve discussion groups led by teachers, mental health councilors, and anyone willing to facilitate a di scussion about this topic, and 2) appeal to anyone struggling with addiction letting them know we are here to help them.
As Dr. Timothy Lepore, President of ASN, states, “Awareness and taking action to seek help are the first importan t steps to battling Substance Use Disorders (SUD). The Boy Next D oor film and the Q&A session after the film are intended to raise understanding of addiction as an illness rather than a weakness. In addition, it should enlighten viewers that addiction does not discriminate. With 1 in 14 Americans touched by addiction, we cannot look the other way.”
The Boy Next Door
Nothing impacts us more than when tragic events happen in our community. This powerful and poignant 13-minute film takes the heartbreaking story of addiction and it s impact and turns it to hope that breaking the negative stigma surrounding addiction can bring. The Q&A fi lm is informative and sheds a light on the challenges that the Nantucket Community faces. Click on the images above to watch the films.

Summer is here. AKA the high season filled with BBQs, beach parties, events, and family gatherings. However, for many individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders, the HIGH season can bring overwhelming work pressure, creating short fuses & snap at people or peer pressures that can create feelings of sadness and loneliness. It’s no secret that drugs and alcohol can get out of control during the summer season on Nantucket. The added stress of working multiple jobs during the busy season or summer residence escaping from the reality of life on the mainland can create a dangerous environment for individuals in recovery—or become a slippery slope to those on the borderline of addiction or overdose.
In light of these harsh reality trends, it’s essential to bring attention to the services offered by organizations like Addiction Solutions of Nantucket, offering a wide range of services to help individuals facing substance abuse disorders, including Medication Assisted Treatment Programs, networks for counseling, support groups, and rehabilitation programs. We encourage you to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
This summer season, let’s remember that our awareness and empathy can be the greatest support to those in need. Help break addiction stigma. Together, we can positively impact and bring hope to those who need it most. Have a great summer, and remember, we are here if you need us. Save the date for Race for Recovery on Sunday, September 29! Registration is now open. Resources and information are available at addicitonsolutionsnantucket.org.

SNAPSHOT OF WHO WE HAVE HELPED
• 86% of all ASN clients are working full-time. Of the remaining clients, more than half have part-time or seasonal employment.
• A number of our patients are working to complete their college prerequisites to apply to nursing school. Additional patients completed their Associate’s Degree and are working in key positions within our community. We have had patients complete their CDL licenses to further their careers, and some patients have launched successful businesses after they reached their recovery goals.
• As of October 2023, no ASN patient was unhoused, though many struggle to find yearround housing despite having full-time jobs. That is subject to change in the future. We are aware from the Nantucket Police Department that over 40+ people in the Nantucket community are living in their cars as of October 2024, and we will be connecting to the homeless through collaboration efforts with our partner organizations focused on humanitarian e fforts.
