2012 舞蹈秋天

兩廳院每隔年舉辦的「舞蹈秋天」,是結合國際舞團與國內舞蹈菁英的系列節目,今年邀請了雲門舞 集、義大利艾德現代芭蕾舞團 (Fondazione Nazionale della Danza Aterballetto)、法國舞蹈家克利斯 汀 ‧ 赫佐 (Christian Rizzo),以及國內舞蹈新銳黃翊、蘇文琪,一共推出五檔節目, 對值得期待!

雲門舞集今年將重演林懷民 1993 年在國家劇院首演,已成雲門經典的《九歌》,這個被《紐約時報》 譽為「華美如畫的驚人奇觀」的作品,結合了董陽孜的屈原辭章書法和美國劇場泰斗李名覺脫胎於畫 家林玉山荷花畫作的舞台設計。尤具意義的是,2008 年雲門遭祝融浩劫,《九歌》面具在劫後現場 被發現,費時四年才完成了重建。而在兩廳院的《九歌》重演也正好是迎接雲門第 2000 場演出的時 刻,諸神復甦的盛宴,在滿場荷花的舞台上展開,您

義大利艾德現代芭蕾舞團在 1997 年由國際知名編舞家馬羅 ‧ 比戈哲堤 (Mauro Bigonzetti) 接任藝 術總監後,即展現新穎獨特的舞蹈風格,舞者的身型與技巧極具美感,服裝設計亦展現了義大利出色 的時尚品味,本次將演出斯特拉溫斯基《婚禮》與羅西尼《戀戀羅西尼》兩支舞碼,以熱情濃烈的義 大利風格,帶給台灣觀眾耳目一新的觀舞經驗。

此外,2010 年丹麥國際編舞比賽亞軍黃翊與舞者胡鑑將帶來全新作品《雙黃線》,透過純粹的雙人 舞,帶出豐富的肢體境界。「一當代舞團」則推出第八屆台新獎評審團特別獎蘇文琪的新作《身體輿 圖》,是與台灣重量級聲音創作藝術家王福瑞,及入圍 2006 年世界藝術獎(Artes Mundi)視覺藝 術家吳季璁的共同創作。《伽里尼 1545 在楓丹白露》則是法國編舞家克里斯汀.赫佐為前里昂歌劇 院芭蕾舞者茱莉 ‧ 吉柏 (Julie Guibert) 編創的獨舞,舞作以緩慢的主調,風格華麗的舞台空間,呈 現出抽象迷離的綺麗世界。

2012 Dancing in Autumn

“Dancing in Autumn”, which is a dancing series program held every other year by the NTCH that gathers international dance companies as well as domestic dance artists. This year the series invites the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan, Fondazione Nazionale della Danza Aterballetto, French artist Christian Rizzo and Taiwanese artists HUANG Yi and SU Wen-chi. The five programs are definitely worth your expectations!

The Cloud Gate will restage LIN Hwai-min’s Nine Songs, which was premiered at the National Theater in 1993 and has become the company’s classic repertoire. Praised by the New York Times as an “elegantly picturesque marvel,” Nine Songs combines the dance with DONG Yang-zi’s calligraphy and the internationally renowned theatrical set designer LEE Ming-cho’s stage design out of LIN Yu-shan’s famous painting The Lotus. More significantly, when the Cloud Gate’s warehouse was burn down by fire in 2008, the masks of Nine Songs were found miraculously at the site afterwards and took four years to reconstruct. The restaging of the work at the NTCH happens to be the 2000th performance of Could Gate. You should not miss the feast where gods wake up to a stage full of lotus flowers!

After the distinguished choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti took over the position of Artistic Director of Fondazione Nazionale della Danza Aterballetto in 1997, the company has expressed novel and unique dance style and the costume design also represents the outstanding taste of Italian fashion. This time the company will perform Igor Stravinsky’s Les Noces and Gioachino Rossini’s Rossini Cards. The passionate, strong Italian style will surely bring about a new experience for dance lovers in Taiwan.

In addition, the runner-up of the 2010 Copenhagen International Choreography Competition HUANG Yi and dancer HU Chien will present their new work Double Yellow Lines. The pristine duet will elevate body movement to the next level. YiLab will stage the 8th Taishin Arts Award/Jury’s Special Award winner SU Wenchi’s Out of Maps, which is a joint work with heavyweight sound artist WANG Fu-jui and visual artist WU Chi-tsung, a 2006 Artes Mundi candidate. b.c, Janvier 1545, fontainebleau, is a solo dance created by French choreographer Christian Rizzo for Julie Guibert, a former ballerina at the Lyon Opera House. The dance showcases an abstract, mysterious world through a slow melody and a splendid stage space.

The 2012 “Dancing in Autumn” will present five amazing programs with five different styles and characteristics from September 13th to November 25th. You are all invited to come to the theater to experience these dazzling, versatile creativity of contemporary dances!

屈原的九歌,敬天地祭鬼神,歌頌愛情悼念國殤,是萬民的禱告。林懷民從楚地借來祭典的形式,移 植水澤與蘭芷,21 世紀劇場裏水光粼粼的荷花池畔,戴著面具的神祇與凡人共舞。紗幕浮現董陽孜 狂草的屈原詩句,遠方傳來鄒族、日本、西藏、印度和爪哇的樂音,劇場設計泰斗李名覺用滿台荷花 景象鋪陳出歌劇式的恢宏氣派,八百盞油燈蜿蜒流向繁星的夜空,令人興奮低回。 巡演多年之後林懷民決定封箱。然而 2008 年雲門排練場火災,當灰燼沾污的雲中君面具,有如復活 的象徵,從冒煙火場的道具箱浮現時,眾人歡呼! 2012 年,眾神復甦,林懷民重啟這場綿延兩千多年的神鬼傳奇。

林懷民與雲門舞集 1973 年林懷民以中國最古老的舞名,雲門,作為台灣第一個職業舞團的名字。這也是所有華 語世界的第一個當代舞團。 雲門舞作多由傳統文化取材,以現代的觀點,獨特的形式呈現。《薪傳》、《紅樓夢》、《九 歌》、「行草三部曲」等作品,備受歡迎,成為台灣社會三代人的共同記憶。 雲門經常應邀赴海外演出,是國際重要藝術節的常客。紐約、倫敦、柏林、莫斯科、東京、 雪梨都是舞團例行公演的城市。倫敦泰晤士報說,雲門是「亞洲第一當代舞團」。歐洲舞蹈 雜誌表示:「雲門之舞舉世無雙。它呈現獨特,成熟的中國編舞語言。這項亞洲舞蹈進化的 重要性, 不亞於威廉 ‧ 弗塞的法蘭克福芭蕾舞團對歐洲古典芭蕾的影響。」2003 年,《水 月》被紐約時報選為「年度最佳舞作」。2006 年,歐洲重要舞評家票選,將「行草三部曲」 選為歐洲年度最佳舞作。 林懷民也獲獎無數,包括里昂舞蹈節的「最佳編導」,紐約洛克菲勒三世獎,法國文化部的 騎士文藝勳章,時代雜誌的「亞洲英雄」,鳳凰衛視的「影響世界華人獎」。2009 年,林懷 民繼法國編舞大師莫里斯 ‧ 貝扎,獲歐洲舞動藝術節頒贈終身成就獎。2012 年,林懐民受 邀擔任「勞力士創藝師徒計畫」舞蹈類大師,將在 2012/2013 年度指導全球遴選出來的巴西 編舞家 Eduardo Fukushima。

Nine Songs, a cycle of poems written by Qu Yuang some 2300 years ago, is considered a pinnacle

of classical Chinese literature. Drawing on the ancient imagery and sensibilities, Lin Hwai-min creates a thoroughly contemporary ritual, in which distant and recent pasts collide. Masked shamans, playing the roles of Gods and Goddesses enact otherworldly rites to music from India, Tibet, Java, Japan and indigenous tribes of Taiwan. Their dances are interspersed with appearances of people in contemporary dress: a man in a modern-day suite with luggage calmly crosses the stage; young men on bicycles dash through the crowd; scores of protesters scurry for cover from blazing searchlights. Received to great acclaim at the Vienna International Dance Festival, the Next Wave Festival in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Sydney 2000 Olympic Arts Festival, and major cities in Germany, Canada and the United States, Nine Songs was hailed by dance critics around the world.

Lin Hwai-min & Cloud Gate Dacne Theatre According to legend, Cloud Gate is the name of the oldest known dance in China, a ritual dance of some 5,000 years ago. In 1973, choreographer Lin Hwai-min adopted this classical name for the ďŹ rst contemporary dance company in any Chinese speaking community: Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan. Cloud Gate's rich repertoire has its roots in Asian myths, folklore, and aesthetics, but it brings to these age-old beliefs and stories a contemporary and universal perspective. The company is made up of two dozen dancers whose training includes chi kung, meditation, internal martial arts, modern dance, ballet, and calligraphy. Cloud Gate has been on extensive overseas tours throughout the continents of Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, and South America, including engagements at New York's Next Wave Festival, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Arts Festival, Lyon Biennale de la Danse, Melbourne International Arts Festival, Adelaide Festival, Berlin Festival, Sadler's Wells Theatre and Barbican Centre in London, Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Kennedy Center, and Internationales Tanzfest NRW directed by Pina Bausch. In 2003, Cloud Gate opened the Melbourne International Arts Festival with Cursive II, winning both the Age Critics' Award and the Patrons' Award; while in New York, Moon Water was named the best dance of the year by the New York Times. In 2006, Cursive: A Trilogy was chosen as the best dance choreography of the year as a result of critics' poll by Ballet-Tanz and Theaterheute.

Les Noces

Les Noces is an abstract, formal ballet with precise, rigid movements which give the piece an almost statuesque aspect. It explores an academic and aesthetic vision of beauty. Color is absent in order to highlight an accurate black and white with just a slight touch of red. The movement is formal, clean and disciplined underlining the strength of the rite. The refined costumes are almost stylized, precise in their myriad folds.

Rossini Cards

An abstract creation, without a dramaturgic framework. Not a story, but scenes from parallel lives: images, cards, dramatic icons and comic situations. An expression of Gioacchino Rossini's music, of its pressing, geometric and precise rhythm and, in the end, of a Dionysian vitalism.

Fondazione Nazionale della Danza Aterballetto Aterballetto is the principal producing and touring dance company in Italy. It is also the first permanent ballet-producing organisation apart from Opera House companies. Founded in 1979, it is composed of solo dancers capable of performing in various dance styles. Aterballetto has gained wide recognition on the international scene. After almost 18 years of direction by Amedeo Amodio, the artistic direction was entrusted to Mauro Bigonzetti from 1997 to 2007. Bigonzetti, a notable international choreographer, renewed the artistic identity of the Company giving it an international profile. In February 2008, Mauro Bigonzetti left the artistic direction to dedicate more time to his creative talent and became Aterballetto’s principal choreographer. The artistic direction was entrusted to CRISTINA BOZZOLINI, a former prima ballerina of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. Aterballetto has taken the profile of a contemporary ballet company. The founding element of its artistic identity is the commitment to supporting and developing the art of choreography and the absolute language of dance, intended as dynamics and forms in space, an embodiment of expressive and aesthetic reverberations, and as a dialectic with music. Throughout its recent history, thanks to the valuable contribution of Mauro Bigonzetti and of Italian and international choreographers who have collaborated with the Company – including Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Iztik Galili, Fabrizio Monteverde, Jacopo Godani, and Eugenio Scigliano, Francesco Nappa this commitment has become stronger and the artistic decisions have been motivated especially by the need and curiosity of exploring the various expressions of contemporary choreographic language. Aterballetto believes in research - that begins from a‘disciplined’ body that has a strong ballet technique - to discover the potentials of movement and dynamics and to make them an expression of contemporary reality, by means of the original vision of choreographers who interpret today’s reality through their imagination, taste, experiences, and human vision. It is a unique and original experience for the choreographer and the performers, which arrives directly to the audience. All this has been made possible thanks to the insight of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, of the Emilia-Romagna Region and of A.T.E.R. (Association of Theaters in Emilia-Romagna).

HUANG Yi, the runner-up in 2010 Cross Connection Ballet International Choreography Competition, created this new production with dancer HU Chien and composer An Tôn Thất to present the pure essence and abundant quality of dance. Double Yellow Lines is about two parallel abstract topics, the development and the collision. The alienated topics with the interactions between the characters intertwined and revealed the profound experience of life by the simplicity of the pas de deux.

黃翊 極富潛力的年輕編舞家,編舞之外,錄像、攝影、裝置創作,都是他涉獵的領域。擅長結合層次豐富的 影像與細膩的肢體展現,「在影像和舞蹈的穿梭中展示出深不可測的底蘊和舞蹈潛力,」是林懷民口 中「可怕的孩子」。2004 年首次編舞,以《自己》初試啼聲,獲得「舞躍大地」舞蹈創作比賽銀牌, 同年應邀於兩廳院「新點子舞展」發表新作。2005 年獲菁霖基金會獎學金赴美,於美國舞蹈節編作 《Messed》,獲舞評家譽為「舞蹈節最佳舞作」。2007 年由羅曼菲舞蹈獎助金補助的舞蹈影像作品《轉 -SPIN》,獲國立台灣美術館推薦,應邀於法國 Enghien-Les-Bains Centre des Arts 國際科技藝術節演出。 同年與驫舞劇場合作製作《速度》獲台新藝術獎。2010 年以作品《低語》獲丹麥跨界連結舞團舉辦之第 3 屆國際編舞大賽第 2 名。2010 年《交響樂計畫 - 壹 ‧ 機械提琴》獲台北數位藝術節數位藝術表演獎 首獎。《SPIN 2010》入圍台新藝術獎年度十大表演藝術作品。2011 年在許芳宜推薦下,獲美國舞蹈雜 誌選為「25 to Watch」。

HUNAG Yi HUANG Yi is a young choreographer with much potential. In addition to choreography, he is also involved in video recording, photography and art installation. He is adept at incorporating multi-layered images and delicate body movement. LIN Hwai-min, founder of the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, once said, "HUANG is an appalling kid who reveals his unlimited potential in the interweaving of image and dance." His first work Self in 2004 was an instant success which won the silver medal of Taiwan's National Creative Dance Competition. In the same year, he was invited by the NTCH's New Idea Dance to present his new work. While chosen to attend the American Dance Festival in 2005 by the ChinLin Foundation for Culture and Arts as a representative from Taiwan, his work Messed was showcased in the student concert, and earned the praise of the Independent Weekly's writer Byron Woods. His 2007 work SPIN, sponsored by the LO Man-fei Dance Scholarship, was recommended by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts to present at Enghien-Les-Bains Centre des Arts in France. In the same year, he collaborated with the Horse Dance Theater to produce Velocity, which was recognized by the Taishin Arts Award. His 2010 work Whisper won the Second Prize of the third Cross Connection Ballet International Choreography Competition in Copenhagen. His Symphony Project-I. Violin in 2010 won the First Prize of the Digital Art Performance Award of the Digital Art Festival, Taipei. His SPIN 2010 was shortlisted in the annual top ten performing art works by the Taishin Arts Award. In 2011, by the referral of HSU Fang-yi, he was selected as 25 to Watch by Dance Magazine in the US.

b.c, janvier 1545, fontainebleau For b.c, janvier 1545, fontainebleau, Christian Rizzo has reunited with his favorite cohorts, Caty Olive who creates the lighting environment of the piece, and Gerome Nox who creates its sound score – all focusing on a singular project. The choreographer also reprises his talent as a model maker, creating a specific universe, shaped, custom-fit to Julie Guibert, a classical dancer he met at the Lyon Opera Ballet when he created ni fleurs, ni ford mustang there in 2004. Ms. Guibert has danced with many companies, ranging from the Ballet du Nord to the Ballet Cullberg, where she worked for several years, and more recently the companies of Russell Maliphant and Yves-Noel Genod. She has experienced the creative universes of many different choreographers, among them Maguy Marin, Trisha Brown, William Forsythe, Mats Ek and Philippe Decouflé. Rizzo is both fascinated by what he calls her “incredible intelligence onstage,” and inspired by her personality. He decided to continue working on the connection he felt to Ms. Guibert in creating this solo, in which he asks himself, “how do we look at a woman alone on stage, outside her own community?” He imagines a dance projected into space, nocturnal, carved by the lighting to“delve into the idea of slowness, shaping the calligraphic dimension of the movement.” In the background we intuit the questions revealed by these enigmatic images, of the links between memory and vision, of the ritual dimension of performance, and what it means to write, to create for another person.

克利斯汀‧赫佐 克利斯汀 ‧ 赫佐是出身法國坎城的全才型跨界藝術家,同時擁有藝術家、策展人、編舞家、舞台設計師、舞 蹈服裝設計師、表演工作者等多重身分。他曾經在杜魯斯 (Toulouse) 成立過搖滾樂團並創立服飾品牌,轉往 舞蹈領域發展後,曾是許多當代知名編舞家的合作舞者,更曾擔任過多項時尚或藝術展的策展人。赫佐創作的 舞作曾在里昂歌劇院芭蕾舞團發表,並多次受邀參加亞維儂等大型藝術節演出,也受到巴黎國家裝飾藝術博物 館的邀請, 為「裝飾藝術協會」(l'UCAD) 及愛瑪仕 (Hermès) 的皮包大展規劃整體展場設計。跨界的創作才能, 讓他廣受各界的肯定。赫佐 1996 年成立了 l'assoiation fragile,除了編創藝術表演,也與其它團體合作交流計 畫,或是接受時裝界與造型藝術的委託,至今已累積了 30 多個融合視覺藝術、舞蹈,音樂,燈光、劇場設計 與服裝造型等多樣元素的製作,建構了一個巨大創作能量的場域。

Christian Rizzo Christian Rizzo was born in 1965 in Cannes. His artistic career began in Toulouse, where he started a rock band and designed a line of clothing, after which he studied fine arts at the Villa d'Arson in Nice, then unexpectedly branched out into dance. In the 90s he performed with a number of contemporary choreographers including Mathilde Monnier, Herve Robbe, Mark Tompkins and Georges Appaix, and sometimes created soundtracks and costumes for them as well. He also worked with choreographers with a different artistic approach, such as Vera Mantero, Catherine Contour, Emmanuelle Huynh and Rachid Ouramdane. In 1996 he founded l'association fragile and began presenting events, dancing objects, solos and group pieces, as well as various projects and commissioned work in fashion and the visual arts. Since then, over thirty projects have borne fruit, not counting his pedagogical activities. Christian Rizzo teaches on a regular basis in art schools in France and abroad, as well as in establishments devoted to contemporary dance. 失焦成為新的樣態,失衡成為下一個立足點 難分辨自然與人工 穿梭於真實和虛擬 失焦的迷離 失衡的空間 和那些流動的記憶 反覆 消長 是否在無法避免的存在騷動後 尋回可能的片段明亮? 第八屆台新獎評審團特別獎蘇文琪,延續 2011 年《城市微幅》(W.A.V.E) 的創作議題,與台灣重量教 父級聲音創作藝術家王福瑞,及入圍 2006 年世界藝術獎(Artes Mundi)視覺藝術家吳季璁共同創作, 企圖面對當代生命樣態中,自然與人工空間、真實存在與虛擬幻象、時間記憶與感官經驗的對映、以 及身體在這些轉變之間的相互消長關係。

一當代舞團 2005 年成立於台灣桃園,團隊負責人為蘇文琪,團隊成員皆為台灣各領域活躍的藝術家。團隊 理念為:一個作品中沒有唯一的中心媒介,只有看似相同卻又互相衝擊的概念;每位受邀參與 的藝術家都是一個獨立的個體,皆可獨立創作,自由提出各種觀點以深入作品命題之核心。現 今致力於新媒體和表演藝術的實驗與結合,嘗試從新媒體的思維中,重新探索表演藝術的可能 性,延伸當代藝術面對數位時代衝擊所帶來的提問與省思。

YiLab. Founded in 2005 by SU Wen-Chi. YiLab. is currently working on integrating new technology with performing arts, and seeking to present new performing formats. YiLab.'s philosophy is: in a work, there is not just one dominant media, only concepts that appear similar but actually have impact with one another; every artist involved is an independent entity who can create their own work, freely put forward different viewpoints and undertake in-depth exploration of the core significance of theme.
