The Spring 2014 collection is inspired by the Kinetic Art movement and Venezuelan artists Carlos Cruz- Diez and Jesus Rafael Sato. Embracing the exploration of the optical effects of motion and the eye's perception, Carolina Herrera applies that sensibility to material and silhouette. Through layering of geometric motifs on a range of fabrics from organza to chiffon and voile, with touches of jeweled embellishments and appliques, the clothes in motion create a virtual, multidimensional experiences for the viewer.

Lanvin L Let there be light. With sequins, brocade and pleated technical fabrics, the Lanvin Summer 2014 collection sparkles and shines in a season where colours become magnetic and fabrics washed lamé, glimmering weaves, gold boutis piqué - impersonate the sun itself, by night as well as day. Material radiates energy, whether crumpled, pleated, smocked, treated or iridescent. Layers of tulle take on a star shape, asphalt-coloured lamé crackles like lightning. A violet-blue taffeta jacket over a royal blue satin skirt and a «Dream» t-shirt sets the tone.

The Tod's Women's Ready-to-Wear Collection for spring/ summer 2014 sees the arrival of the first season’s designs by Alessandra Facchinetti. It is the Brand’s first extensive ready-to-wear collection, and the first ever runway show, which was held in Milan. The collection for women, called “Italian Set”, now features beautiful dresses, capes, and shirts in luxurious, butter-soft leather, and natural cotton, as well as the comprehensive range of elegant and distinctive shoes, bags and accessories that have become the hallmark of Tod’s.

The interpretation of shapes and how to apply them both literally and conceptually was my starting point this season. Exploring new proportions has allowed me to further develop my silhouette and I have set boyish elements against a sense of femininity that is manifested through the use of lines, waves and textured overlays. What became most important to me was to convey a feeling of balance across the collection – there is a sense of fluidity set against graphic structures and this, together with the merging of boy and girl sensibilities are key to my aesthetic for Spring/ Summer. For his first collection, Julien Dossena is renewing the vision of the PACO RABANNE style – thus establishing the basis for a new fashion alphabet. Showcasing a modern heiress, with the allure of a Françoise Hardy from the 60’s wearing a metallic dress. Revisited, twisted archetypes compose a modern signature wardrobe: this season, techno bombers and cargo pants mingle with the ubiquitous suit. The colour palette also imposes new codes: optic white, cement grey, liquid silver, high tech pastels, with a few strokes of saturated colours.
