What is your favorite part about working at the Overstreet Memorial Library? My favorite part about working at the library is craft time for children. We host this event monthly and I'm responsible for the event preparation. Each time, I think about making it an easy and fun event for young children. It made me happy when some customers told me that their children were looking forward to this event.
What do you wish the Misawa community knew about your programs? We have some STEAM education produs, such as 3D pen and K’NEX. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding students’ inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. We have STEAM programs every month. We welcome all ages to attend these events.
What is your best memory at the Resource office?
My best memory working at the library was the Summer Reading Program Closing Party this past summer. A lot of children visited our library during this event. ey made slime, built LEGO creations and participated in a scavenger hunt. It was very busy, but I was happy that they were having a good time. I'm looking forward to seeing even more people next summer.
