401(k) Savings Plan

Regular category employees are eligible to participate in the NAF 401(K) Savings Plan. This retirement savings plan allows you to set aside a portion of your salary with special tax advantages. You decide the amount of money you want to contribute, from 1%–99% each pay period. The amount you contribute is deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis and the Air Force will make a matching contribution depending upon contribution percentage. You can invest your money in any of the 25 investment options, each with a different degree of risk and reward potential to help you design your own personal investment strategy. Quarterly statements are sent out so you can keep track of your investments. You won’t owe taxes on your contributions, or on any money they earn, until you withdraw the money from the Plan. More information is provided upon becoming eligible to participate.

Lamar Denno Marketing Director

It’s hard to believe that it has been three years already. My family of five and I arrived here amidst a world of uncertainty during COVID times. As the saying goes, “the bad times feel like forever and the good times never last.” I’ve learned so much from this unique, rural corner of the earth while experiencing some of my best moments both personally and professionally — from the birth of my youngest child, to family vacations and creatively being challenged to establish the visual identity for 35FSS. What an adventure, and what amazing stories we can now tell about making new friends, living on-base, visiting travel destinations (Morioka, Sendai, Tokyo & Okinawa) and understanding the true meaning of community.

I can only hope that my family and I have been able to give as much as we’ve received. My daughters started school, learned how to ride bikes, how to swim and are now leaving here with cell phones. My son went from crawling to walking to running everywhere. My wife went from looking for a job to helping others begin their careers during her time here. From our family of six we offer a sincere and heartfelt thanks to the swim coaches, teachers, supervisors, co-workers, friends and family we made at MAPI. Farewell to the Land of the Rising Sun. The Denno Family (Christina, Lamar, Ariana, Anaiya, Azriel & baby Alayna) Leisure TIMES | 29

Thank you To my staff, for overcoming my weaknesses and struggles as a leader. I appreciate you for always pitching in to help and keep things moving forward. I do not know the future but I do know that I am humbled to have been a small part of your journey. Like the meaning of the song, we've come to the “End of the Road”. We may never know the duration of a relationship, but we can positively reect and appreciate our moments together.

Thank you for your unwavering support, camaraderie and collective creativity.
