The Outdoor Recreation Center offers ski and snowboard equipment waxing, edge-sharpening and base repairs as well as “while you wait” hot waxing and generally fast turnaround on most other work. If you buy skis or snowboards and the bindings with ODR, we will mount them for you. Keep your gear in optimal condition for chasing the best powder! Please note that we do not mount or service personal ski or snowboard bindings.
Enjoy two days at Shizukuishi in the Iwate Prefecture. You’ll get a full day on the slopes Sunday, a buffet dinner, accommodations and hot springs. Monday starts with a breakfast buffet and two CAT ski runs on some fresh powder. While Shizukuishi offers terrain for all skill levels, the CAT ski area is best suited for those with intermediate and above skills.

The Community Support Flight (FSW) welcomes Mrs. Jessica White to the team! She will be tackling the newest program in the USAF’s MWR tool kit as the Community Cohesion Coordinator. She will be supporting base units with morale, resiliency and retention programs. Her funding resources will enable her to plan, coordinate and execute events for every squadron's needs across the 35 FW. Jessica hails from Sierra Vista, Arizona. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University on a softball scholarship with a BA in Sports and Recreation Management. Her experience includes multiple positions within municipal programs for youth sports and sports tourism. Working with various programs she’s directed, organized and facilitated over 30 sports programs from basketball to wrestling to beach volleyball. She is proud of her work with the military to help coordinate their sense of community bond with local events and programs and consolidating morale and cohesion projects.

She has been in Misawa for a year with her family and has thoroughly enjoyed the community and experiences that only rural Japan can offer.
