Q: What is Military Spouse Preference? A: The spouse of an active duty member of the Military Services, who relocates via a permanent change of station (PCS) move as a sponsored dependent to the military sponsor’s new permanent duty station, is entitled to military spouse preference (MSP) for all positions in the commuting area of the new duty station being filled under competitive procedures.
Q: When do you lose your Military Spouse Preference?
Q: How many times can you use the Military Spouse Preference?
A: You lose MSP when you accept or decline a Regular category position with NAF (Non-appropriated funds), Appropriated funds (GS positions) or AAFES (BX). You also lose your MSP if you decline an invitation to the interview for regular category positions. However you DO NOT LOSE the Military Spouse Preference if you accept or decline FLEX positions.
A: You can apply with Military Spouse Preference without limit. Military Spouses will be referred using Military Spouse Preference until such time as they accept or decline a Regular category position, or fail to maintain eligibility, or are no longer interested in being referred.

What is your favorite part about working in your work center ? My favorite part about working at a CDC is working with children, parents, and the staff. When I see children learning and interacting with their peers it brings me joy. I most look forward to supporting staff and parents in helping children develop into great citizens. What do you wish the Misawa community knew about your programs? I hope the Misawa community would know and understand we at the Yoiko CDC wake up every day to support our military families. I hope Misawa knows that the youngest members of the community are a huge part of the community and are receiving the highest quality care offered in the world. What is your best memory working in your work Center or field? Over the last 20 years I have so many memories, but I will never forget one day when I was holding one of our infant children and he was looking up at me with his beautiful blue eyes, and he was laughing, smiling and cooing. This moment reminded me of how much life and love our children possess. We can never forget how beautiful God made our children and how much we are responsible for protecting, loving and teaching our little ones.
