PRO’S CORNER
September marks the end of summer and the warm temperatures make way for the cooler days and nights. The golf course traditionally is at its best in the fall, since the natural grass varieties here thrive in cooler temperature ranges. We are very lucky to have a championship golf course here in Misawa and thanks to your use we are able to maintain it at a high level. This past year we have added a new tee on #4 to increase the overall par to par 72. We have also added GolfBoards to our transportation fleet, both of which would not be possible without our golfers’ support. I am always available if you have a comment or suggestion for a program or service that you would like to see here. The 6/6/6 Tournament this month will be a great way to get out, meet new people and have some fun. See you at the course! Robert E. Jacobus General Manager / Head Professional

NAF employment is considered federal employment. It is different from federal civil service employment because the funding used to pay the salaries of NAF employees comes from a different source. Civil service positions are paid for by money appropriated by Congress. NAF funding is self-generated by Air Force clubs, bowling centers, golf courses and other activities that generate revenue. We have two types of NAF positions, flexible and regular. Flexible employees have work schedules that depend on the needs of the activity. These employees may work a minimum of zero hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week and do not receive benefits. Regular employees work between 20–40 hours a week depending on position requirements and may be entitled to receive benefits.
