In 1905, Matilde Vicenzi opened a pastry shop on the outskirts of Verona, where she carefully made her biscuits and pastries with passion. In 1912, the small artisan pastry shop became a company.

Today, we sacredly preserve Matilde’s recipe book. Over the years, innovation and tradition have remained the fundamental ingredients of our success. These ingredients have established and have made it an ever growing leader for Amaretti Cookies, Lady ngers and Puff Pastries. Our large company, well-established in Italy, is present in over 110 Countries in the retail trade and in the traditional channel.

Matilde Vicenzi has been bringing us her Amaretto di Matilde for over 110 years: with its round shape and characteristic avour, it is one of the most famous traditional Italian cookies. Although the recipe was widespread as early as the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, Matilde Vicenzi’s Amaretto di Matilde was the rst in Italy to obtain product certi cation. According to the traditional Italian recipe, Amaretto di Matilde cookies are made with:

Today, we jealousy guard Matilde’s recipe book. Her ideas remain a source of inspiration for our sweet creations to this day.

The traditional recipe requires a layer of butter between the folds of puff pastry dough; then, you must gently fold the dough back on itself many times.
