HAPPY BOXING Remains Club Staple Since the Club opened its doors in 1903, the MAC has strived to uphold important traditions that make this organization unique. Whether Members believe it or not, one of these esteemed traditions is holding boxing matches at the Club, which one article depicts happening as early as 1921. A century ago, in January, the MAC (or Missouri Athletic Summer! Association as it was known at the time) hosted a “Regular Madison Garden Affair” in the ballroom of the Downtown Clubhouse.
