John A. Blitch Service Award Robert F. Munroe Day School announces junior, Kaitlyn Sirmons, as the recipient of the John A. Blitch Service Award, the highest award given to a junior at Robert F. Munroe Day School. The award is voted on by the teachers and given to the junior student who has exemplified Johnny Blitch's life's work of service to his community. During his life, John Allen raised money for RFM and his church; he led efforts to improve the school's appearance and academic standing in the region. The outstanding service to the student's school and community earns Kaitlyn Sirmons the honor of having her name engraved on the podium in the library alongside all the previous winners. "It was a pleasant surprise. I was very honored to receive the award, and also to get my name engraved on the library's podium," said Kaitlyn.
