Nursing RN TO BSN PROGRAM

BECOME A LEADER IN HEALTHCARE

Why Should I Earn a BSN? • Opportunities for career advancement • Increase earning potential • Improve patient outcomes • Pathway to Advanced Practice Nursing The Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN- BSN) program at CFK provides an opportunity for practicing registered nurses to further their education, advance in their career, and earn higher salaries. The RN to BSN program includes coursework and field experience in leadership, community health, and evidencebased nursing practice. The program prepares nurses to pursue opportunities that require a BSN as well as to pursue an advanced practice degree. Students must maintain a clear and active nursing license throughout the program.

CONVENIENT AND FLEXIBLE Designed for busy working professionals, coursework is 100% online and can be completed during times most convenient for the student. Nursing classes are structured in eight-week terms to expedite completion of the degree. RN-BSN students may attend at a pace that suits their schedule taking as few as three credit hours or a full-time course load (12 credits) per term. There is a rolling admission cycle for the program with classes starting five times a year.

COURSEWORK CFK’s RN-BSN program follows a “2 + 2” model for licensed Registered Nurses who already hold an associate degree in Nursing. BSN students complete 27 credits of general education courses and 33 credits of nursing courses— totaling 60 credits. Students who have already completed required general education courses can finish their Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in as little as one year.

COURSEWORK INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: • Advanced Health Assessment • Pathophysiology and Pharmacology • Trends and Issues in Nursing • Cultural Health Issues • Leadership and Management in Nursing • Community Nursing • Nursing Theory and Research • Nursing Informatics • Gerontology Nursing (elective) • Complementary Therapies in Healthcare (elective) • Critical Care (elective) • Hyperbaric Nursing (elective)

CAREER OUTLOOK Thanks to advances in healthcare, Americans are living longer, which translates to a larger patient population. Medical science is also experiencing rapid growth in diagnostic and treatment knowledge, largely due to technological developments. As the healthcare industry evolves, advanced training is becoming increasingly necessary for nurses to thrive. Earning a BSN is a smart strategic move for Registered Nurses who envision a long career in healthcare. With a national nursing shortage, nurses with BSNs are in high-demand and enjoy more career options including: supervision, management, education, and case management. Leadership and critical-thinking skills developed in BSN curriculum empower nurses to make a greater impact—improving patient care and fostering a healthy community.
