Black History Month, or National African American History Month, is an annual celebration of achievements by black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in U.S. history. The event grew out of “Negro History Week, the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating black history.

So many of us have written letters of love to our favorite stars, but how often have we ever received one ourselves? It almost never happens, except in the very personal pages of a TeB. Here, for the first time anywhere, is a letter, yes, even though it’s in a magazine, a Love Letter, just for you from Marvelous Michael Jackson! Dear You, Have you ever noticed that every song contains the word “You”? Like for example: “Oh How Happy You Have Made Me”, “Can you See The Morning?” or “The Love You Save”. So that’s why I though it would be alright to start this love letter to you with “Dear You”. If it works in songs of love it ought to be right on for letters of love, too, don’t you agree?

Of course, there’s another reason, too. I don’t know your name. Chances are, we’ve never met. And maybe you are just starting to really get to know me through the pages and pictures here in TeB. You’re luckier than I am. I don’t even know the first thing about you, the girl I’m hoping to find someday…somehow, some way. I can’t even be sure you’re reading this, but I won’t lose hope. I will never stop looking for you face, in every audience I see before me, in every eager fan who waves and smiles to me. I’ll be waiting for you baby. Will you wait too? I’ll Be There, -Michael" Article taken from here but originated from a “Tiger Beat” Magazine 14

BOOKS Michael Jackson A Lamb To The Slaughter A Deep Journey Through His Soul “A Lamb to the Slaughter” is not only the analysis of Michael Jackson’s immense talent; it’s also a deep journey through his soul. This book goes past any prejudice and conviction; it talks straight in the face of the reader, be it a King of Pop fan or a hater, taking him/her by the hand, flying to Neverland, in a surprising journey through the depths of this great contemporary artist. It tells of his worldwide stardom as well as his complicated relation with the media; it replies objectively to all the scandals that have tortured the singer through all his life and finally lays bare all the facts about him that have been shrewdly hidden; it unveils the truth behind the child sexual abuse allegations; it also introduces a very human Michael Jackson, with the joys, feelings and worries any human being has; a humanitarian whose sacrifice was needed so that the world could see the truth. “A Lamb to the Slaughter” sheds light on a Truman-Show-like drama that has been playing for over a decade, with Michael Jackson as the main character; a drama that has been workmanlike staged by the whole world around him.

The greatest falsetto, the sweetest smile, responsible for dress and style. However, the Expressive vocalist was known not only for his years as an original member of Motown’s supergroup, The Temptations, but also for his major success as a solo artist in the 1970’s. He was born Edward James Kendrick (which he later changed to Kendricks) on December 17, 1939 in Union Springs, Alabama, and moved to Birmingham when he was seven, but it would be Motown’s original home of Detroit that would make him a star.

1963 with a series of stiffs, and that was the least of their problems. Group member Elbridge Bryant was drinking and complaining. He was fired after a Motortown Revue Christmas show in December 1963. In came showman David Ruffin, not yet a star but on the move. Finally, in 1964, with the Smokey Robinson crafted "The Way You Do The Things You Do", the Temptations had their first hit. The hits continued with Kendricks singing most of the leads, to include "I’ll Be in Trouble", "The Girl’s Alright With Me" (which Kendricks co-wrote), "Girl (Why You Wanna Make Me Blue)", and "Baby, Baby I Need You", until late in December of 1964 when Smokey penned the infamous "My Girl" written with David in mind. It was a universal number one smash that turned The Temptations into a household word. Smokey turned from Eddie Kendricks to David Ruffin as the group’s centerpiece, but didn’t leave Eddie totally behind, serving up the stone R&B jam "Get Ready" for him to ride. However, "Get Ready" failed to crack the Pop Top Twenty, and "Ain’t Too Proud To Beg" with David Ruffin on lead, was chosen as the next Temptations single. Written and produced by Norman Whitfield, the hit promised Norman the follow ups for the next eight years. Most of the hits that followed featured David on lead, except for the soulful top ten hit "You’re My Everything" , in which David joins Eddie.

In 1955, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Willy Waller, and Kell Osborne, were singing in local talent shows in their hometown. Realizing they would never make it if they stayed in Birmingham, Eddie and Paul left for Cleveland, where they worked at the Majestic Hotel on 55th & Central. Kendricks washed dishes and Williams worked as a bellhop. They also performed in the hotel’s Rose Room with the now deceased dancer/contortionist Caldonia Young, but the group never recorded. With nothing happening in Cleveland, the two moved to Detroit, along with new manager Milton Jenkins, who promised them a recording deal. It was in Detroit that Kell Osborne rejoined them, and they called themselves The Primes. When future Temptation Otis Williams and his group shared rehearsal space with The Primes, they couldn’t help but notice Kendricks’ vocal prowess and Paul Williams smooth and classy choreography. In 1961, tired of the small club "gigs", Kendricks returned home to Birmingham, Kell Osborne left to go solo, and The Primes disbanded.

Yet with the fame, came trouble. There were hints that Ruffin sought top billing. Egos flared and there were fits of anger between the guys. Ruffin was replaced with Dennis Edwards. Eddie had threatened to quit when David was fired from the group, and eventually he did. Eddie loved David and they would remain close friends until David’s death. So Eddie was torn, wrestling with leaving his beloved Temptations, or having a solo career. "I did not want him to leave." says his mother, Lee Bell Kendricks. He hated having to choose. Eddie quieted his mind to turn the gossamer "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)", into the performance of his life. The combination of his voice close to the microphone, the slow drag guitar in the spaces between the percussion, and the groups’ hushed harmony, made for an exquisite moment.

Shortly after, Kendricks, back in Detroit to visit Paul Williams, made a phone call that would change history. On the other end of the phone, Otis Williams couldn’t believe his luck - Richard Street and Pee Wee Crawford has just quit The Distants, so Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Elbridge Bryant, Eddie Kendricks, and Paul Williams, became The Elgins. The group arrived at Hitsville, on an invitation by Berry Gordy, and impressed with the groups performance, he signed them on the spot. After discovering that another group was calling themselves The Elgins, they changed their name to the Temptations, right on the front lawn of the Hitsville building.

Eddie made his choice when he walked off the stage at the Copa in New York after the first show, and never returned. He was replaced briefly by Ricky Owens and later Damon Harris, Glenn Leonard, and Ron Tyson, respectively. Many Temptations fans questioned the wisdom of Kendricks leaving the still tremendously popular group, but Eddie proved to be quite viable as a solo act. His first post Temptations solo album was All By Myself which included the

song "This Used To Be The Home of Johnnie Mae", sung with surprising reverence in Eddie’s natural tenor. Within the confines of a group already rich with tenors, The Temptations failed to utilize Kendricks natural voice as often as they should have, a great injustice in my opinion. However, you can hear his natural voice in some early Temptations songs such as the 1963 single "May I Have This Dance", and the just recently released "My Pillow", recorded in 1962.

together with David Ruffin and Dennis Edwards to make a video called "Street Gold - The Original Leads of The Temptations." Unfortunately, instead it turned out, that the video became a special tribute to David Ruffin when David died tragically and unexpectedly of a cocaine overdose before the video was completed. David's death tore Eddie up, he never could quite come to terms with the circumstances of his best friend’s death. Eddie was among the pallbearers at David's funeral, and it was reported that as he sat sobbing uncontrollably with his head in his hands, so-called fans and press snapped pictures. But things would only get worse for Kendricks that day, when outside the church he was arrested for back child support (he had three children) and would spend a brief period in jail. Although Eddie was suffering terribly at this point, he continued through sheer force of will to try and complete the video, his determination apparent in his offhand remark about a portion of the video when he said, "I’m glad we kept that on tape because it is something we‘ll never get again. It‘ll never happen anymore."

Unlike many solo Motown acts, content to occasionally raid Jobete Music Publishing’s vast array of sure-fire covers, Kendricks, and thanks largely to songwriters/producers Frank Wilson and Leonard Caston quickly developed a sound of his own. Eddie would continue to record songs on the subject of love, but in keeping up with the times, would record some Disco tunes like "Keep On Truckin"(a #1 R&B hit) and "Boogie Down"(#2 on the soul charts). Other noteworthy solo hits were "Shoeshine Boy", "Get The Cream Off The Top" and "Happy" in 1975. In 1976 Norman Harris took over as producer. (Norman’s crew included high sweet tenor Ron Tyson who would eventually end up with The Temptations). It was with Norman that Eddie would record He’s A Friend, Kendricks first record about spirituality. This trend would continue as evidenced in the 1976 recordings of "Goin’ Up in Smoke", "Born Again", and "Don’t You Want Light". Eddie was no stranger to God; religion was definitely in his background, but he had temporarily lost his way. Before his death Eddie would secure promises from family members that they would return to the church. For Slick, in 1977, his last Tamla/Motown album, Eddie returned to Leonard Caston. Following Motown, Eddie signed with Arista Records and later Atlantic Records for the 1981 Love Keys, a fine effort despite Kendricks weakened voice.

His failing health was becoming even more evident on stage in his final appearances, especially at the Apollo Theater in N.Y. in June of 1992, only months before his death. Part way through the show, which included Dennis Edwards, Damon Harris, and Daryl Hall, Kendricks left the stage, the empty microphone remaining. He came back at the end of the show, to take his bows with the others, but only briefly. He flashed his familiar smile to the cheering audience, then turned, and quickly exited the stage, but not before a camera at the rear of the stage would catch the pained look on his face. Kendrick died of lung cancer less than four months later on October 5, 1992, at the age of 52. A tragic and unfortunate loss to be sure, but we continue to enjoy his music, and we try not to be sad, as we remember some words Eddie said, "Anything can happen to you - at any moment, so you might as well try to be a happy person at all times, rather than be sad, because you can only be sad by yourself - nobody usually is sad with you." Eddie Kendricks - Master of Melody - now that’s somebody to remember.

Following a brief reunion album and tour with the Temptations in 1982, Kendricks suffered declining success and health. He later teamed with his Temptations brother David Ruffin on RCA for an album called simply Ruffin & Kendrick and decided to return to his roots and drop the "s" from the end of his name. The pair also teamed with Daryl Hall & John Oates to appear live at The Apollo Theater in New York in 1985. In 1989, at the Temptations induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, David and Eddie decided to get together with Dennis Edwards, but their debut album entitled Get It While It’s Hot was apparently never released. By October of 1991 Eddie knew he was dying when doctors removed a cancerous lung. It was then that he swore off smoking, but it was too late. Shortly before his surgery Kendricks got

Peace through Music Documentary Playing For Change: Peace Through Music is the DVD documentary (83 mins), as seen on PBS. The DVD includes 26 minutes more footage not seen on PBS, plus 20 minutes of bonus chapters chronicling the filmmakers' journey. This documentary is an exploration into the human spirit and the power of music to unite us as a human race Through the process of making this film we traveled around the world and discovered that music opens the door to a place where we can celebrate our differences and still connect our hearts. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music had the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world. READ ARTICLE HERE FACEBOOK COMMUNITY

February African American History Month

The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in paying tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society.

Civil Rights movement focused Americans of all color on the subject of the contributions of African Americans to our history and culture. The celebration was expanded to a month in 1976, the nation's bicentennial. President Gerald R. Ford urged Americans to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.” That year, fifty years after the first celebration, the association held the first African American History Month. By this time, the entire nation had come to recognize the importance of Black history in the drama of the American story. Since then each American president has issued African American History Month proclamations. And the association—now the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH)—continues to promote the study of Black history all year.

As a Harvard-trained historian, Carter G. Woodson, like W. E. B. Du Bois before him, believed that truth could not be denied and that reason would prevail over prejudice. His hopes to raise awareness of African American's contributions to civilization was realized when he and the organization he founded, the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH), conceived and announced Negro History Week in 1925. The event was first celebrated during a week in February 1926 that encompassed the birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. The response was overwhelming: Black history clubs sprang up; teachers demanded materials to instruct their pupils; and progressive whites, not simply white scholars and philanthropists, stepped forward to endorse the effort.

(Excerpt from an essay by Daryl Michael Scott, Howard University, for the Association for the Study of African American Life and History)

Executive and Legislative Documents The Law Library of Congress has compiled guides to commemorative observations, including a comprehensive inventory of the Public Laws, Presidential Proclamations and congressional resolutions related to African American History Month.

By the time of Woodson's death in 1950, Negro History Week had become a central part of African American life and substantial progress had been made in bringing more Americans to appreciate the celebration. At mid–century, mayors of cities nationwide issued proclamations noting Negro History Week. The Black Awakening of the 1960s dramatically expanded the consciousness of African Americans about the importance of black history, and the

New York City and serves as a kind of counterpart to the gruesome events of the 1863 riots. The event took place nearly a century later, and is as small in scale as the tale of the epic slaughter in New York is incomprehensibly vast. But both events illuminate the same issue.

The American Dream and African-American History There is a common expression: “The American Dream.” Today, we've grown perhaps a little too accustomed to thinking of that dream as having only a financial or materialistic dimension. The actual American Dream has to do with having the right to decide what your own proper sphere is … without permitting anyone else to decide that all-important matter for you.

In 1952, a white woman walking the streets of Manhattan concluded for some reason that an AfricanAmerican man was following her. She appealed to the white officers in a passing squad car for help in escaping this menacing figure. The officers dutifully pursued the man and called out, “Hey you!”

The man, who was not stalking the woman but simply making his way to a friend's house, informed the officers that he had a name.

Obstacles and Opportunities The Enlightenment, a movement in late eighteenthcentury Western thought, emphasized rationality, progressive humanitarianism, and the logic of science. Thinkers within the movement saw the ideal state as a rational institution founded on natural law, embracing human freedom as a birthright of humanity. Such ideals did not, however, persuade one of the great thinkers of the Enlightenment, Thomas Jefferson, to liberate his own large contingent of enslaved Africans.

Unimpressed by this fact, the officers reminded the pedestrian that he was dealing with police officers. The man smiled, removed his wallet, flashed a badge, and informed the officers that they were dealing with a superior officer. He was Billy Rowe, New York City's newest deputy police commissioner, and the first African-American in the nation to hold such a post. The officers withdrew sheepishly. There are many, many angles meant to add up to a single portrait of an extraordinary people: a people committed to identifying their own sphere in life. The first image of that multi-layered portrait should be, I think, that of Billy Rowe striding purposefully past those bewildered white officers, walking (happily, one imagines) the path of his own choice.

Ultimately, the real American Dream has nothing to do with upward mobility or household appliances or social status. The real American Dream is a good deal closer to the ideals set out by (and not, of course, lived up to) by some of the great thinkers of the Enlightenment—the founding fathers of our nation.

Excerpted from The Complete Idiot's Guide to AfricanAmerican History © 2003 by Melba J. Duncan.

It is one of the tragedies of our imperfect republic that the inspiring dream of autonomy, of political awareness, of an inherent right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, was initially meant to be turned into reality only for white males. It fell to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to demand compellingly that America recognize an obligation to live up to its dream—to demand for all citizens, not grudging concessions, but the fundamental right to empowered selfdefinition that is the bedrock of the ongoing American national experiment.

Although the first black slaves arrived in Jamestown, Virginia in 1619, our knowledge of African American history is often limited to "lessons" in films. The Complete Idiot's Guide to African American History reveals a full portrait of black life, including familiar figures such as Harriet Tubman, W.E.B. DuBois, and Martin Luther King, Jr.

VALENCIA RENEE DANTZLER AKA MOTHER DIVA’S STORY Valencia Renee Dantzler was born in Chicago, IL on February 10, 1971 at St. Joseph’s hospital at 9:30pm. She was a very vibrant child with a bright personality. To keep her busy her mother put her in church fashion shows and the church choir. Valencia stepped out on the stage at the age of 3. By the time she was 6, she was performing in the Chicago Passion Play. Her role was one of the Children of Israel. Also at age 6, she performed with the Greater Institutional Church Choir on the Jubilee Showcase on WLS Television a local ABC affiliate. Due to the fact she was a biracial and chubby child she was often teased and bullied in school. Valencia used her dramatic skills to fight the bullies back. Her mother told her if she acted crazy and threw tantrums on the playground the other children would think she was crazy and would leave her alone. Her mother’s unconventional advice worked, however the school teachers also thought she was crazy and called her mother for a parent teacher conference. Valencia grew up in the prestigious Hyde Park area of Chicago and lived in the same community with Minister Louis Farrakhan, Muhammad Ali and Barack Obama. She attended Kenwood Academy High School with Minister Farrakhan’s children and R&B singer Robert Kelly aka R. Kelly. Valencia was in Kenwood Academy’s band and also studied with Kenwood’s choir vocal couch Dr. Lena Mclin, who trained R. Kelly, Chaka Khan, Jennifer Hudson and many more.

At age 14, tragedy struck Valencia’s life. Three weeks before her 8th grade graduation Valencia’s father Calvin Dantzler Jr. was killed by a drunk driver on the early morning of June 5, 1985. Ironically 29 years later on June 5, 2014 around the same time Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson attempted suicide.

CONNECTION TO MICHAEL JACKSON Before moving to Hyde Park Valencia lived in an apartment complex, LAKE GROVE VILLAGE. She played with a toddler who lived down the hall named Adrienne Brown. Adrienne is the niece of MJ’s sister, Rebbie Jackson by marriage. Adrienne’s father and Nathaniel Brown are brothers. Rebbie would come to visit Adrienne and Valencia would always miss her. Ironically, Valencia attended a performing arts grammar school, Ward Elementary. She befriended a girl name Saranita Watkins. Saranita was Adrienne Brown’s cousin on Adrienne’s mother side of the family. Rebbie also came to visit Kenwood Academy and Valencia missed that to, most likely she was outside cutting class and dancing to house music. Later on Valencia relocated to Los Angeles California to pursue a career in the entertainment industry and met and befriended Enid Jackson the x-wife of MJ’s brother Jackie Jackson.

L-R VALENCIA WITH HER FATHER AT AGE 8, VALENCIA WITH HER FATHER, 30 YEARS AGO AT HER 14TH BIRTHDAY. THIS WAS THE LAST BIRTHDAY THEY SPENT TOGETHER BEFORE THE ACCIDENT.

At 12 years of age Valencia joined the Jewish Community Center which ironically is directly across the street of what we know to be President Barack Obama’s house, which ironically was also owned by a record executive for Trax Records; the first house music record label in Chicago. JACK IS A HOUSE MUSIC DANCE. Valencia’s sister Vynessa paid for her to attend the center. At the JCC Valencia took theater classes and learned cable access productions. The children wrote directed and starred in their own cable access show.

AN EXCLUSIVE REPORT WRGO’S VALENCIA “MOTHER DIVA “DANTZLER VISITS THE UNITED STATES LIBRARY OF CONGRESS IN WASHINGTON D.C. Wow! What an exciting honor to be able to walk into this building. I still get overwhelmed with emotion just thinking about this surreal experience. I have been conducting some copyright research for a client and unfortunately the information I needed was not ready available to me on the copyright website due to the fact it was copyright information from 1968. Any copyright records before 1978 are not accessible on the website, and you must take a physical trip to the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. to retrieve the information.

in today with everyone being so damned sensitive. OF COURSE I SAW IT AS A JOKE AND DIDN’T TAKE IT THAT WAY. I ended up staying an extra week in Florida so I had pre-planned my trip. I knew that if I took the train home from Florida I would have a 7 hour layover in Washington D.C., which would give me plenty of time to visit the Library of Congress. I departed on the train on my birthday February 10th and arrived in D.C. on the morning of February 11th. I, of course, went into the restroom and washed up and put on my make-up; didn’t want to go into the prestigious Library of Congress unclean. This was so amazing there is a local city bus called, “THE CIRCULATOR”, that take passengers from Washington D.C. Union Station around the corner and drop them off right in front of THE PRESTIGIOUS LIBRARY OF CONGRESS for a $1.00 ride.

Now most would think wow, I have to go all the way to Washington D.C. just to look up some old copyright records. That is certainly a trip that must be planned out way in advance of course unless you live in D.C. The way the holy spirit planned my amazing journey was truly divine intervention. I recently became the BRAND AMBASSADOR/PRODUCT DEMONSTRATOR for The Forever Sharp Knife Company and had to fly to Tampa Florida to be trained. Most that know me are aware of the fact that I AM TERRFIED OF FLYING. It brings on great anxiety for me. In fact the guy I was sitting next to on the plane told me he can’t take it either, and took 2 XANAX before he got on the plane. I was cracking up LMFAOROTF. I am certainly one who does not believe in utilizing pharmaceutical drugs, but before I became an herbalist I once had a prescription for XANAX myself, it is highly addictive and I would not recommend it.

I was so excited to enter this building. THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS IS THE BUILDING THAT HOUSES ALL COPY WRITTEN MATERIAL I.E. SONG LYRICS, MUSIC, SCREEN PLAYS, TELEPLAYS, BOOKS, ANY COPY WRITTEN MATERIAL. I even have a song I wrote registered there. It’s a comedy spoof song I wrote back in 1998 titled, “I GET HUNGRY”, a spoof of Janet Jackson’s “I GET LONELY”. CLICK LINK TO SEE WRGO’S COPYRIGHT RECORD OF SONG “I GET SO HUNGRY”

Well of course when I got off the plane I was shaking and needed to consume a few alcoholic beverages, so I headed straight to Applebee’s for their 2 for one drink special. THANK YAHWEH I WAS SAFE ON THE GROUND AND NOT DRIVING. I HAD A DRIVER TO TAKE ME STRAIGHT TO APPLEBEE’S. BTW they have the best sautéed shrimp and broccoli with cheese. The FOREVER SHARP KNIFE COMPANY CROWNED ME THE WINNER OF CONSUMING THE MOST SHRIMP, 39 TO BE EXACT. The shrimp are so small anyone can easily eat tons of them.

Now don’t think for one second you can just walk into this building and start doing research. This is not your local public library. THIS IS THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. There is a procedure all attendees must go through. I found that out the hard way. After I was stripped searched just kidding LOL, I asked security where the copyright office was and he told me to go to the 4th floor. I proceeded to get on the elevator and went to the fourth floor to the Copyright Office and the clerk told me to go back to the first floor to get your READER’S REGISTRATION CARD. So I had to go back downstairs and go through the procedures and steps to receive my: LIBRARY OF CONGRESS READER’S

I had it out with the owner of TWIN TOWERS TRADING FOREVER SHARP KNIFE COMPANY, Mr.. Jeff Brandon, and told him he was sending me home on AMTRAK after my training. I was not flying again unless it was an extreme emergency. Jeff Brandon is a hoot! When we were speaking over the phone before the company booked my flight, I told him I was afraid of flying and his response was “I’M AFRAID TO HAVE SEX BUT I STILL DO IT”. Again I was cracking up LMFAOROTF. NOTE: Although Mr.. Brandon was making a joke to relax my nerves to get on the plane and get to Tampa, I would not recommend employers speak to their employees in that manner. It could be deemed as sexual harassment or a hostile work environment, especially in the world we work

As I was conducting my research I happened to be in the letter J aisle; so of course I looked up Michael Jackson and found the copyright catalog for the Album “Ben”, the copyright owner is Motown. Copyright August 7 1972, MJ was 13 about to turn 14. SEE BELOW

Now I was ready to go back up to the 4th Floor to do my research. The clerk was so helpful she walked me through the catalogs which was a room filled with drawers of records. I was researching 5 songs from 1968, and guess who performed those songs, OUR BELOVED KING OF POP MICHAEL JACKSON AND THE JACKSON 5. For readers who may or may not be aware; The Jackson 5 recorded 5 songs on STEELTOWN RECORDS, before they signed with Motown. Mr.. Gordon Keith CEO of SteelTown Records signed the Jackson 5 in 1967 - see first official recording contract signed by Joseph Jackson on November 21, 1967.

Love vs. Noise “If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.” (I Corinthians 13:1-3, NIV) There is much going on this month, and some of it is noise. The Chinese New Year fell on the 19th. This is the year of the Sheep, and Sheep are a symbol of freedom, because they eat grass and do not have to hunt for food. There are parades and a great deal of celebration. Then Mardi Gras was celebrated on the 17th, in anticipation of the season of Lent in the Christian church. In some areas of the world, Mardi Gras is a huge celebration, with parades, music, and lots of food. The food is important because, to the strictly religious, there are certain food restrictions for the next 40 days. So this is the last day to indulge. Lent is a time of self -deprivation by way of approximating the sufferings of Jesus. That suffering, we are told, was undertaken because of his love for humanity. This month we also remember that three years ago, we lost Whitney Houston. She is remembered for many things, but importantly for paving the way for other young, black, female artists. One of her most well-known songs is “The Greatest Love of All,” in which we are told that that “greatest love” is inside of us all. Finally there is Valentine’s Day. I’ve been wondering why we only have one day to celebrate Love. It gives the impression that Love doesn’t matter on all the other days. Or that at least it is diminished in importance on every other day. That just doesn’t make sense to me. I believe we should think about, and yes, even celebrate Love, every single day. What is more important? Without Love, life is dull, meaningless, and empty. Here’s what Michael had to say about Love: “Holding on to love is not wrong, but you need to learn to hold it lightly, caressingly. Let it fly when it wants. When it's allowed to be free, love is what makes life alive, joyful, and new. It's the juice and energy that motivates my music, my dancing, everything. As long as love is in my heart, it's everywhere.” (Dancing the Dream) There are many different ways to think about love, but one simple, elegant fact remains. No matter how we choose to think about it, without Love, anything else we do, whether it is celebrating a holiday or remembering one we have lost, is just so much noise. “I am your Joy, your Best of Joy, I am the moonlight, you are the Spring, Our love’s a sacred thing. You know I always will love you.” (Best of Joy)

'I've seen the heavens the skies open wide of such beauty inside sapphire blue scarlet reds to sun rises to a stunning view thousand dances on the scenic moon scolding feet when our souls meet reach the highest of the stars our journey farthest by far motionless the waves of the tides calm oceans eyes seagulls cry....

A grown man with a grown mind

But he was still a child inside An old soul who saw the world differently It could change for the better If we changed and worked together Nothing was impossible he was a visionary He wasn't God, didn't wanna be Just wanted love and wanted peace

Wanted to help heal as many as he could To his children he was daddy Learning, laughing, and playing Disciplining and correcting when he should

He was beauty, he was magic

Breakfast in the morning, stories at night

He was fragile, his pain was tragic

Had to earn their rewards, he did it right

He had a temper, he was human after all

I know that he's watching so proud of them now

He was playful, he was private

And when they cry his heart cries

His laugh was loud, his thoughts were quiet

They don't know he's by their side

Don't put him on a pedestal, he is sure to fall

I'm sure he'd love to tell them somehow

When he loved it was completely

A grown man with a grown mind

Passionate and so discreetly

But he is still a child inside

With hands strong and tender at the same time

An old soul who sees the world differently

His eyes were deep and intense

He is in the light

Loved to have good conversations

In God's loving light

Witty, funny, such an intelligent mind

And he is watching over you and me

He was focused, he was determined He was sarcastic, and he was stubborn

J€§§€ RA¥

And sometimes his ego could carry him away Often humble but it was complex Balance humility with what others expect A tightrope walk he walked it every day

Jump for joy

Sing songs of praises to the Lord

I cling unto you, for there is no other but you

Up on your feet and dance

I am nothing without you.

Give glory to the Lord above

And so I will always jump for joy

My only shield, my armor, my defender

With peace inside my heart For you deserve all my praises

My creator, my everything

Jump for joy! ! !

Thank you for every trials

Thank you for all answered prayers. As I continue my life journey Be with me, and don't ever leave me

IN RETROPECT A LOOK AT THE MICHAEL JACKSON “2005” TRIAL With this short introduction we will go through a collection of articles, video and pictures of what happened 10 years ago from February to June. It was February 2005…. the media found Jackson guilty before the trial even began.

Already 10 years have passed from what British journalist Charles Thompson termed as “One of the Most Shameful Episodes in Journalistic History”. There's actually few media that evenly reported facts of Michael Jackson 2005 trial but unfortunately their articles have been drowned in a sea of packed lies.

To this day there are still people who speculate on the charges acquittal formulation saying that “no guilty” verdict means “lack of evidence”. NO! It does not work like that! Lack of evidence produces the dismissal of the judgment and not a verdict of “not guilty”.

Actually, the havoc, the shame, the scam should have be debited to the Californian Legal System which allowed a trial , based on circumstantial evidence and in total conflict with the American statute which clearly state

When you are formally charged and get into a Court room NO one is ever found 'innocent'. The Law works this way. If someone is suspected of committing a crime, it is up to the State, (the city, the Fed Govt, whoever) to bring charges against the lawbreaker...THEN it is up to the State, (city, feds, etc) to PROVE that the suspect is guilty. The final judgment can only be Guilty or Not Guilty, and Not Guilty does not mean innocent, it means the State could not prove the accused was Guilty, by a preponderance of the evidence. In the legal system "innocent" does not exist! When the judge reads the verdict he says "Not Guilty" he does not say "Innocent" You can NOT prove innocence, you can only fail to prove guilt.

that “

YOU ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY BY A COURT OF LAW." Michael was arrested in November of 2003, days after sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant at his Los Olivos ranch. MJ was tried on a 10-count indictment and in April 2004 he was charged with four more counts of child molestation, four counts of providing alcohol to a minor to facilitate that molestation, one count of attempted molestation, and one count of conspiring to hold the boy and his family captive at his sprawling 2700acre Neverland compound. The elaborate conspiracy charged by Sneddon—that Jackson abducted the family of his supposed victim and plotted to ship them to Brazil—was proven to be absurd. Mesereau had no difficulty in demonstrating that family members had gone on shopping sprees during their supposed imprisonment, including body waxes for the mother of the then 13-yearold boy and orthodontic work for the latter and his brother. Testimony indicated that the family had “escaped” and returned to Jackson’s Neverland ranch three times, once in a Rolls-Royce, but never called for help.

Actually in my opinion there is at least one episode that would have been enough for a dismissal of the case. It was the prosecutorial "misconduct" in producing fake evidence, to procure substantially prejudices against the defendant's. A dirty move with fake “fingerprints” on some magazines in the hope to jeopardize and tarnish the jury viewpoint. But when it comes to Michael Jackson it is amazing to compare America's diligent attitude towards the abuse of authority that occurs in some cases and the lack of it in others.

Prosecutor Tom Sneddon slandered him in public, creating a situation where Michael Jackson faced two trials: one in the court room and the other in the news room. Jackson was ridiculed and dehumanized in the media - and not just the tabloids. The lurid headlines that trumpeted prosecution claims while burying more subdued and smaller items about defense arguments served to win over the “jury” of public opinion. In fact,

It's also astonishing how people sit at home and formulate opinions and judgments that comes with the distorted facts received from news programs, and believe that your judgment is superior to a jury who listened to all of the facts first hand with no distortion and found no guilt!

2005 FEBRUARY 1ST, JURY SELECTION A daily ritual seems to be developing. Michael Jackson's lawyer, Thomas Mesereau, arrives at the Court early. He drives himself. He then waits at the court entrance for his client - cheered on by the fans, who now number only about 100. "Go defence!," they scream. Jackson has made brief appearances outside the courthouse. Mr. Jackson turned up with his usual entourage in his black SUV - escorted by police motorcycle outriders. More screams - "Michael, Michael, we love you". A topic of conversation among the fans is the size of their banners. Some are disgruntled that a smaller group of anti-child abuse campaigner received more media attention on day one because their placards were bigger. Hotel rooms are emptying and reporters are leaving Santa Maria in droves. A jury pool of 250 people has been selected. The surprise early conclusion to the first stage of jury selection was welcome news to the travelling media circus. The general consensus is that the process is moving along swiftly because people actually want to be on the jury - their chance to have a role in a history-making trial. 74

2005 February 5 Interview With Geraldo Rivera After the leaks of the Grand Jury transcripts to the media, on January 19, Judge Melville gives Michael permission to react. He gives an interview to Geraldo Rivera. During the interview he reveals that he is working with his bothers on a song to benefit the victims of the Tsunami disaster. Here the YT clips of the interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9W91xumZmw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZJEPxrV_20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8PbFzAFKdI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9st1UA1MjtQ GR: You know, it was wonderful, seeing you with the children. That I think, is the real Michael Jackson that has not been seen… you with your own children, one in diapers the other two toddlers… I don’t know how you manage without a nanny.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJbqnUZ7fI8

MJ: Well, I enjoy taking care of my children myself it’s... it’s fun that’s why I had them so I could take care of them and it’s just great relief for me you know it’s a pleasure it keeps me happy and laughing and you know, they’re wonderful sweet innocent children. GR: I saw you as kind of the arbitrator between the Nickelodeon and the Disney channel there. You got some really difficult problems to solve there. But you have such a- a kind of a normal life there. It’s sweet to see. MJ: Thank you. They bring me that. GR: Tell me, tell me what the children mean to you, your own children.

Interview Transcript Geraldo Rivera: How you doing, man? Michael Jackson: How you doing? GR: Good to see you. GR: You get to smile anymore? MJ: Of course, I smile a lot. GR: You smile when you’re in a recording studio like this one, doing music?… MJ: Of course, I love music. GR: Is it nice to get back to the music? … MJ: It’s fantastic. Because ahhh… It’s my life. That’s what I do. GR: You’ve been so distracted, you know, you want to talk about how you’re feeling? MJ: I’m doing fine Geraldo, how are you? GR: Despite whatever else goes on in the world, you’re doing ok? MJ: I’m doing very well, thank you.

MJ: They mean, it’s hard to put it into words because they mean everything. The way you would explain how your children make you feel... They’re the world for me, I wake up and I’m ready for the day because of them. I get them breakfast, I change diapers, if they want to read, we do a lot of reading, we play hide and seek, we play blind fold and have a wonderful time with it. GR: And you can create a world that at least begins to seem normal? They don’t know any other world obviously.

75

that’s when you’re the most comfortable? Or is it the creative process? MJ: The creative process, yes. I’m obsessed with creating… GR: I saw you and Randy, the way you guys react it’s very reminiscent of the way my brothers and I are together. Who’s top dog? MJ: Randy. GR: That’s not what I saw GR: But, uh, you trust your family. MJ: Of course, you have to. GR: Is it a ‘blood thicker than water’ thing? What is it? MJ: Family is everything. It’s love. It’s what we

were taught. We’re friends at the end of the day, which is important. Other than what the public or

GR: So, is the family closely knit, despite all the tabloid stuff?

MJ: Yes of course. I want to be the best father in the world of

GR: How do you deal with that?

GR: Do they know who you are? Or what you mean to people?

like people hearing about such false information.

MJ: Yes. GR: You ever get sick of it? MJ: No, no, not at all I never get enough of it (music). GR: Really. GR: Do you ever get sick of Randy? (Laughing) GR: He’s here, ladies and gentlemen. MJ: Never, never, never He’s (Randy) wonderful. He’s been amazing, supportive, and amazingly brilliant. GR: So, they’re all different. Your whole family is crazy, exocentric… like my family. MJ: Every brother, sister is completely different, like any family, you have all the different elements… that’s what makes it a family. GR: When you have such intense scrutiny, how do you live any kind of a normal life? How do you have any kind of fun outside of your own property? MJ: I don’t. I go off property sometimes, but not all the time. I create my world behind the gates you know because I can’t go to the local movie theater down the street or the local park down the street or go pickup ice cream at the market, at the corner store. So, you want to create that world behind the gates and that’s what I try and do. And it’s not just for me if I could share with my family, friends, or whoever I do. GR: And that necessity for some privacy, drives all these crazy rumors and speculations. A difficult balancing act that you have to endure. GR: But you’re not complaining are you? I don’t. I try to rub it off. I don’t know what I’m the king of… the king of getting shot at maybe. Ha ha ha ha. MJ: “The king of journalism.” GR: So, what is it about children in distress? You mentioned the Tsunami relief effort. What is it? Is it your own fatherhood that

GR: For instance, did you father quadruplets last year?MJ: That was a crazy rumor. GR: Then they became twins. I don’t know what happened to the other two, maybe they were abducted by aliens. MJ: I heard about that story and I don’t have any twins. They said I’m hiding them or something? Another made up rumor. GR: So it’s completely false. MJ: The bigger the star, the bigger the target. I’m not trying to say I’m the super-duper star, I’m not saying that. I’m saying the fact that people come at celebrities, we’re targets. But truth always prevails. I believe in that. I believe in God, you know? GR: Does that faith sustain you? MJ: Of course, it does. GR: How about friendship? MJ: What about friendship? GR: Do you rely on friends? Have people stayed with you through thick and thin? Who are your best friends? MJ: My children, my family, my brothers and my sisters and yeah, most people have. Most people have. GR: Do you want to mention the names of the true blue? MJ: The faithful, you wouldn’t know them so, it’s uh… GR: Elizabeth Taylor? MJ: Oh, she’s very loyal, I see Elizabeth Taylor all the time. She’s my dear friend, I was just at her house. We have wonderful talks on the phone at night, several times a week sometimes… GR: So how long have you two been friends? MJ: I’ve known Elizabeth closely since I was 16… GR: And you’ve been making music since you’re five MJ: Yes GR: So you’re in your fifth decade of making music. That’s fortyone years of making music. 77

motivates that? MJ: Caring. And reading the Bible, learning about God, Jesus, Love. He said, ‘bring on the children’, ‘imitate the children’, ‘be like the children’ and ‘take care of others.’ Take care of old people. And we were raised with those values. Those are very important values and my family and I we were raised with those values and they continue strong in us today. GR: What about movies for yourself again? You had The Wiz and some of the others but we haven’t seen you on the big screen in a while. MJ: I’ll be directing myself. I love directing. I love creativity and I think when an artist steps forward with a production of some type, if he can express himself the way he sees it should be done. I feel it and I see it. I’m a visionary. If I can give that, I do and that’s what I love to do with music and dance and the arts. GR: And do you think art has a role in real life? Specifically referring to this record and Tsunami relief? MJ: I saw it the day after Christmas and as the numbers kept escalating, it just became phenomenal and not even I could believe that it was true. I was amazed. I said, I thought I should do something. That’s what God gave us talent for. To give and to help people and to give back. So, my brothers and I decided to put a song together… GR: What did you pick up the phone and say, “hey bros?” What did you say? MJ: We just say, hey, we want to do something in the studio for the Tsunami victims. Let’s get together and organize it. And they just said great. GR: However, you’re back, I think that people will appreciate the fact that you’re back. Wouldn’t you kind of exalt in a world where you could concentrate on your art and your kids? MJ: I would love it. I mean that’s what drives me. The medium. The art. That’s the world I’m most comfortable in.” GR: In Gary, Indiana, did you ever expect where your world would be as a 46 year old man? MJ: I never thought about it. I knew I wanted to do something wonderful all of my life and to help people and I never clearly really thought about it when I was really little. I just sang and danced and didn’t understand whey people were applauding and clapping and screaming. You really don’t. You don’t know why… GR: When you grow up like that on stage, when do you get it? When do you understand where you fit in to society? MJ: It takes longer when you get older. You get a more rounded personality and your brain starts to grow. You start reasoning and understanding more things, researching. GR: Isn’t it nice to have a conversation on television where people can just hear you being ordinary, normal, reasonable. MJ: I’m like this all the time. I’m just being myself.

GR: At a certain point, Michael Jackson and the brothers Jackson kind of separated artistically, is this a moment in your life where you’re coming back together? Obviously you’ll continue your solo career, but what’s the big plan, what’s the big picture at this stage in your life? What has been left unachieved? What would you like to do? MJ: There are a lot of surprises. Film. I love film. It’s innovating, taking the medium to a new place. I used the music video medium as a short film medium to take me to the next level. I’m having a lot of fun. GR: Do you ever look back and contemplate, oh my goodness, Thriller is the biggest selling musical performance ever, do you ever get your arms around that? MJ: I try not to think about it too hard because I don’t want my subconscious mind to think I’ve done it all, you’re done now. That’s why I don’t put awards or trophies in my house. You won’t find a gold record anywhere in my house. Because it makes you feel you’ve accomplished. Look what I’ve done. But I always want to feel, no I haven’t done it yet.

GR: ‘The King of Pop’ and now I look at some of these performers- there’s a new one - there’s 50 cent and another one- I forget his name, but they’re well-known because they survived violent attacks where they almost died and they’re into hip hop kind of - it’s a different era in popular music- do you think you’ll be more like them- more urban kind of- or will the world come back to more pop and traditional rock? MJ: Great music & great melodies are immortal. Culture changes, fashion change, customs, great music is immortal. We still listen to Mozart today, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, any of them, any of the greats. Great music is like a great piece of sculpture, a great painting. It’s forever. That’s a fact. GR: On the other hand, I interviewed Barbara Streisand at one pivotal point in her career, she was going to do duets with the Bee Gees and other popular artists- she kind of changed the tempo to surprise people. MJ: I’ve done a lot of it already… I don’t really rap, but I could… 78

I’ve written songs with rap versus in them for very famous rappers, but they’re much better at it than I am. GR: Don’t you appreciate, despite your isolated life and despite the fact you’ve been a star so long, you still have what appears to be a very passionate and profound relationship with the community. Does that support you? Does that sustain you? Do you agree with me? MJ: Yes, I do agree, because it’s important to love your neighbors… GR: But were does it come from… where does that almost instinctive love of you come from? MJ: I truly think it comes from my mother and God (instinctive love) The way we were raised. The values my father instilled in us in youth. She was always with the Bible teaching us - we’d go to service all the time. Four times a week and I’m so glad we did that because those are values that are very important. I don’t know if I could have done as well without them. GR: Do you still spend time with mom and dad? They’re not far from here right now? And what is that relationship all about? I’m so close to my mom, obviously. MJ: It’s wonderful. At this stage, you tend to appreciate more who your parents are more and what they’ve done for you. You start to retrack where you are in your life and all the wonderful things they’ve instilled in you. You start to see them come forth. I’m starting to see a lot of things. Traits that my father influenced me on and my mother. GR: My friend Cheech, who you know, whose partner Tommy Chong helped discover you guys, ‘Bobby Taylor and The Vancouvers’, he says that as he gets older, he looks at his father’s face in the mirror. Do you feel that? Are you becoming like your dad? MJ: I’m very much like my father in a lot of ways. He’s very strong. He’s a warrior. He’s always taught us to be courageous and to be confident and to believe in our ideals. And no matter what, no star is too far to reach and you never give up. And our mother taught us that as well. GR: So you’re a warrior also? MJ: Absolutely. GR: That’s the way you see yourself? GR: Tell us more about the way you see yourself? MJ: I try to be kind and generous and to give to people and to do what I think God wants me to do. Sometimes I pray and say “where do you want me to go next, God? What do you want me to do from here?” I’ve always been very spiritual in that way. It’s nothing new. GR: Did you ever see the movie “Finding Neverland” or read about J. M. Barrie, the man who wrote “Peter Pan.” MJ: I know a lot about Mr.. Barrie and I’ve been a fan for many, many, many years.

GR: You know, he had a rocky road, similar to you, I don’t want to get too far into it. Tell us what led to the creation of Neverland. I mean, specifically the place – There are 2 Neverlands, there’s 3. There’s Peter Pan’s Neverland, there’s the Neverland in Michael Jackson’s mind and then there’s the physical place you created up there where I visited you when you brought up all the inner-city children. Why did you create that place? MJ: I created Neverland as a home for myself and my children and it was created simply, it was almost like it was done subconsciously, like I said earlier, where can I go? I mean, it’s hard. I’ve tried to go out as myself and I’ve had policemen tell me, “put on a disguise! And give me an autograph for my wife!” They tell me, “why are you out here with no security?” I can’t do it. I do it sometimes, but it’s very difficult. GR: But you owned Neverland before you had the kids, was it for you? The exotic animals, were they for Michael Jackson? MJ: For me and sharing with others. It gave me a chance to do what I couldn’t do when I was little. We couldn’t go to movie theaters. We couldn’t go to Disneyland. We couldn’t do all those fun things. We were on tour. We were working hard. And we did enjoy it. But this allowed me to have a place behind the gates where the entire world I love is there. GR: You create, like Barrie, this imaginative world, do you ever outgrow something like that Michael? Do you ever think this is silly to have the llamas and the choo-choo trains and the rides? MJ: It’s calling God silly if you do that, because God made all things great and small. Other men have their Ferraris and their airplanes or helicopters or wherever they find their bliss. My bliss is in giving and sharing and having simple innocent fun. GR: Your homes. For all the grandeur of Neverland. Your home is quite modest. And your personal style. I don’t see any bling for instance. How come you don’t have the big diamond thing that says Michael? MJ: I’m modest in that way. If I had it on, I would probably give it away to the first kid to say, ‘wow, I like your necklace.’ When I was growing up, stars like Sammy Davis, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly… if I admired something they were wearing, If I simply said, ‘I love that shirt you’re wearing,’ they would give it to me. It’s a show business trait. Hand it over. GR: Despite the glare of the media attention and even the day that I was there and you invited the inner-city kids there, what’s it like to have the kids there? Why do you do that? I wanted to ask you that question that day but I pose it to you know. MJ: I’ve traveled the world over 8 times. I do as many hospitals and orphanages as I do concerts. But, of course, it’s not covered (by the press). That’s not why I do it, for coverage. I do it because it’s from my heart. And there are so many children in the city who haven’t seen the mountains, who haven’t been on a carousel, who haven’t pet a horse or a llama, never seen them, 79

so if I can open my gates and see that bliss, an explosion of screaming laughter from the children and they run on the rides, I say “Thank you, God.” I feel I’ve won God’s smile of approval, because I’m doing something that brings joy and happiness to other people. GR: So, you’re close to your siblings? How does it affect you when they get involved - like Janet’s superbowl flap? Just tell me how you responded as a brother and a viewer? MJ: Oh, I can’t speak for my sister. With love. Actually, I was looking right at it and I didn’t see it. I was at a friend of mine’s house, Ron Burkle and in a movie theater, it was huge on the screen and I didn’t even see it. I heard all this controversy the next day and I said, “That’s not true.” I didn’t even see it. GR: Do you think the controversy was overblown? Do you think it’s a Jackson related phenomena or is it a testament to our times socially in this country? MJ: That’s an interesting hypothesis too. It’s both. It’s hard to answer. I’d rather not answer that one. GR: Did you call her and say ‘don’t sweat the small stuff?’ MJ: Something like that. ‘Be strong. This too shall pass.’ ‘Don’t worry about it.’ I’ve seen worse things. I said, “Janet, you’re too young to remember but, I once watched the Oscars with David Niven on it and a naked man came running out, streaking. Now, he didn’t get there on his own. That was organized and nobody - they didn’t say much about that.” I’ll just say that much. That was live, around the world. The next day it was a joke. GR: I think there is a Jackson component. I think the thing was exaggerated. I think the Jackson thing was part of the reason. MJ: Thank you. GR: So as you go forward in this record, what are we going to expect? Are we going to hear this on the radio and then people are going to send in their money and it’s going to go to these kids in the Indian Ocean region? MJ: I would like that very much. GR: Now tell me, how that act of largesse, that compassion, will make you feel? Sometimes, I think, I feel better giving than receiving in my life, explain the mechanics of that in your own life. MJ: It’s just the idea. I don’t know if its the psychology of it or what. I just love working hard on something. Putting it together. Sweating over it and then sharing it with people and then having them love it and I always pray that they like it. That’s what gives me great satisfaction as an artist. GR: Does it frustrate you professionally or personally when people say that this Jackson project flopped or that happened. Your ‘Number Ones’ compilation for instance, 7 and a half million copies sold. Now I think that’s quadruple platinum or whatever it is you label it. And yet the characterization by some in the music business at least is that you’re not- you know, that it wasn’t a hit.

MJ: I don’t know which project you’re talking about… because of negative news. Sensationalism seems to sell more than wonderful, positive news. People would rather hear gossip. My last 8 albums have all entered the charts at number 1, so people like to sensationalize things and make up stories and rumors and sometimes… GR: Does it hurt your feelings? Do you want to scream out and say, “Hey wait a minute, check the numbers!” MJ: It’s a commonality in mankind that I don’t like. That part of it, but then there’s a beautiful side to mankind too, isn’t there? GR: But not to Eminem. We’ve spoken about it. I think that you should. Why not? MJ: And what’s your question? GR: Stevie Wonder said that he was piling on and how really rude it was for someone who made his money from the community to ‘diss the community in a sense in a racist and, I’ve said it, very bold faced, bigoted presentation. Tell us how that hurt you and how you’re feeling about it now. MJ: I’ve never met Mr.. Eminem, and I’ve always admired him and to have him do something like that was pretty painful as an artist to another artist and it’s sad because I think what Stevie Wonder said is true, I just don’t want to say too much more than that. He (Eminem) should be ashamed of himself what he’s doing. Stevie said he’s bulls***. He used the word. That’s what he said. I’m not saying it, Stevie said it. Stevie’s amazing. He’s one of the sweetest men in the world. GR: Stevie did and he is bulls***. So, when Stevie said that, did you feel a tremendous sense of reassurance, of brotherly love, there? MJ: I love Stevie Wonder. To me, he’s a musical prophet. I’ll always love him. A lot of people respect Stevie and he’s a very strong entity in this medium, in this business and when he speaks, people listen and it was wrong of Eminem to do what he did. I’ve been an artist most of my life and I’ve never attacked a fellow artist. great artists don’t do that. You don’t have to do that. GR: I mentioned Janet’s fiasco and the exaggerated response to it. Once again do you think he only did it because he knew he could get away with it because you’re Michael Jackson? MJ: Yeah, but it doesn’t hurt. It’s silly. It’s kind of elementary. I hope he’s having fun… GR: Like a poo-poo joke. It still hurts your feelings and you don’t want your kids to see it. MJ: Oh god, I would hate it if they saw it. I would hate that” GR: Finally, we’ve studiously avoided the case and not talked at all about the case that’s pending. You’re under this gag order. I know that you have received permission from the judge to read a statement. I hate to end an interview that way, but if you’d like to read that statement now, I think it’s important. 80

2005 February 14, Jury Selection Again to court where Jury selection resumes after a break due to Mesereau's sister death. Jury selection is back on and this case continues to both entertain and bemuse. The list of potential witnesses is intriguing. The extraordinary cast of characters - from Liz Taylor to Stevie Wonder - raises the prospect of yet more frenzied scenes outside this courthouse in the months to come. Much has also been made in recent weeks about the no-nonsense judge. Rodney Melville is indeed a stickler for discipline and decorum - but he is also blessed with a dry and welcome sense of humour. As he explained the daily court routine to the potential jurors he joked that the trial would help everyone lose weight. He said the six-hour day would be broken up by only two 15-minute breaks. "We'll all weigh about 30 pounds less when this is over, we'll all be happy and we'll be calling it The Melville Diet," he quipped. And we thought he wasn't a judge to play to the media.

2005 February 15, MJ rushed to Marion hospital MJ was rushed to a hospital emergency room suffering from the flu. He was picked up from his Neverland ranch to be taken to the court in Santa Maria, but his journey was diverted to the Marian Medical Center after he became ill. A fan waiting near the medical center reportedly saw the singer walk into the hospital unassisted. At a press conference on the afternoon, Marian Medical Center spokesperson Kathleen Hernandez declined to provide information about Jackson's condition due to patient confidentiality. However, attending physician Dr. Chuck Merrill said that Jackson had been admitted with a "flu-like illness with some vomiting." He said the singer, who is in stable condition, was being tested and treated with intravenous fluids, and that a full recovery is expected. Judge Rodney Melville was apprised of the singer's condition Tuesday morning in a conference call with the attending physician, and then told the prospective jurors that Jackson needed the rest of the week and weekend to recover. Jury selection in the trial has been postponed until February 22. Melville had asked Jackson to be present during jury selection so jurors could grow accustomed to the singer's presence in the courtroom. Jackson has attended each session of jury selection since the trial started on January 31.Tuesday's postponement is the second so far in the trial. After the jury pool had been narrowed to 250 potential panelists on February 8, Melville postponed the process for a week due to the death of the sister of Thomas Mesereau, Jackson's defense attorney. Earlier in the day, Mr. Jackson's lawyer Thomas Mesereau said the singer had been rushed to an emergency room and was "very, very ill". Fifteen minutes after the singer was scheduled to appear in court, Judge Melville told prospective jurors at the courthouse that Mr. Jackson had been taken to the hospital. The judge then asked one lawyer from both sides of the legal case to join him in chambers where he took a lengthy conference call with a doctor at Marian Medical Center who told him Mr. Jackson was suffering from " a serious case of

flu".

2005 February 22, Jury Selection

Michael Jackson arrived at the court building half an hour early - as if to send a message that he's fit and ready to fight another day. He was wearing a dark suit and showed no outward signs of the illness that put him in hospital last week. A small group of fans who'd gathered in the drizzle were treated to a wave before the singer headed into the court building. Inside, the judge warned potential jurors not to read anything into last week's delay. "Mr. Jackson really was sick," he said. And then came the first jaw-dropping moment of the day - yet more celebrities named as potential witnesses - Macaulay Culkin, Eddie Murphy and Smokey Robinson. This show is definitely back on the road.

‌.while the media‌. Mr. Jackson was flanked by minders as he arrived at court Pop singer Michael Jackson has arrived back in a California court to resume his child molestation trial. Mr. Jackson, 46, was taken to hospital in Santa Maria last Tuesday after falling ill on the way to court with "flu-like symptoms". He was kept in hospital for two days and the trial was postponed for a week to allow Mr. Jackson time to recover. Jury selection will continue in the trial on Tuesday. Mr. Jackson denies 10 counts of child abuse. Jury pool Lawyers will once again question selected members of the public in a bid to find 12 impartial jurors. Each side can challenge an unlimited number of jurors for any signs of bias and reject 10 jurors without cause. The pool of prospective jurors has already been narrowed down to 240 since jury selection began. As well as the final 12, Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville will also have to choose eight alternates, who will replace any jurors dismissed during the trial. 82

Suspended Mr. Jackson's lawyers, together with Judge Melville, were already present in the courtroom last Tuesday when the news came that Mr. Jackson had been taken ill. He was given intravenous fluids at Santa Maria's Marian Medical Center for what doctors described as "a flulike illness with some vomiting". Judge Melville suspended the trial for a week after discussing Mr. Jackson's condition with medical staff at the hospital. It was the second time the trial had been delayed. Previously it was postponed for a week after a death in the family of Mr. Jackson's lead defense lawyer, Thomas Mesureau. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4286619.stm

2005 February 28, ( Trial Day 1) Sneddon Opening Statement followed by Mesereau Monday 28 February Some US court observers are describing day 1 of the trial as "anti-climactic." Their response is largely due to the widespread leaking of court documents which have been posted on the internet. But from my vantage point in the courtroom, the trial got off to a breathtaking start. Michael Jackson bounded in with a big smile on his face. He glanced briefly at those us sitting in the press seats and took his place along side his lawyer. The prosecution's case was presented in meticulous detail although the District Attorney Tom Sneddon had to contend with some technical glitches with his microphone. On two occasions he was interrupted by a deafening "howl-around" squeal from the courtroom speakers. Appearing irritated, he swiped the mic to his side and continued without it. Later, Michael Jackson's lawyer, Thomas Mesereau, adopted a close mic technique resulting in his voice booming out of speakers. He almost yelled his opening salvo that the charges were "fictitious, bogus and never happened". For much of the day, Michael Jackson sat bolt upright. As the case against him was spelled out, he stared at the prosecutor. Some of the jurors appeared spellbound by what they were hearing. Others yawned.

SHOUT IT OUT: Corrine Montorfani

MR. CLEMENTE...PLEASE SHUT YOUR MOUTH! 85

It seems Jim Clemente has found new friends on Twitter. Oh yes! And guess who? None other than the small group who has nothing better to achieve in life than to haunt the web with imaginative, slanderous insinuations against MJ. They are all loving supporters of Robson, Safechuck and anyone who thinks MJ was a pedophile. Their perverse nature appears to subvert any official document which completely exonerates Michael from any wrong doing. And now Mr. Clemente, retired FBI, has embraced their school of thought.

would have torn him to pieces as far as I am concerned.” Therefore I see excessive boldness of Mr. Clemente to post in a social media like Twitter comments that “Michael Jackson fans are not aware of facts”. He was the one who saw “secret” depositions and people have to believe him! I do not know if he noticed but someone even made a joke about him when requested to post the interviews Clemente stated containing MJ guilt. Our Jim answered back: “They are grand jury material. It would be illegal to provide them. You do your own research. I'm not your lackey.” Mr. Clemente …do you know that the Grand Jury trans-

Despite his respectfully bobs and weaves, it was already visible during an interview that Tom Mesereau kindly granted to him last November. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gc61c-BxZZU Clemente said everything except his thoughts…that‘s Jim Clemente! Did Clemente hear (and understood) what Mr. Tom Mesereau politely replied to him during the interview???

criptions are on the web? It’s enough just to enter "Michael Jackson trial 2005 Grand Jury" in any search engine and it delivers about 453,000 results; and the first page shows at least 10 sites where the transcriptions are fully exposed. So…coming back to what you have read on Michael Jackson’s trial, you should know that everything has been successfully debunked in Court! (And by the way fans also have read the transcriptions)

No?? Well, in an interview given to Jordan King’s radio blog last February 13th, a fan questioned why an ex-FBI guy could go public spitting harsh comments without having a real clue of the facts regarding MJ’s 2005 trial, and Mr. Mesereau answered:

Another miserable example, impolite and totally out of place is Clemente’s answer to this fan ( also admin of an MJ vindication blog): Look at what he got back!

“Mr. Clemente convinced himself, based on the evidence he saw, and he thought Michael was guilty. But he is wrong, he does not know all the evidence of the facts, he never knew Michael. I do not think he appreciated just what the cross examination did with these witnesses because they were not, in my opinion, telling the truth, and he has limited information. I think he is very biased. I think he‘s very préjudice. I think he tends to be very prejudice toward the prosecution and I think he’s wrong and he ‘s lucky he did not testify because I 86

No, no, no Mr. Clemente...that’s not cool..: On the other hand, there are clear reasons because Clemente is not' taken seriously by anyone. You can find with almost no effort, on the web, articles and comments showing his lack of accuracy when it come to analyzing legal cases. Look for examples of the Paterno’ case, which always Clemente highly suggest to his followers to read. Just to give you an idea, here below you can read the introduction of John Ziegler’s emails exchange with Clemente. You can read the full emails content hère: http://www.framingpaterno.com/my-last-emailexchange-jim-Clemente family response here, really cares at all about the truth in general, or the truth of this case in particular. I do this fully understanding that some will think ill of me for taking this position, but I have long-since stopped caring what most people think of me in all of this. My only agenda is the truth of what really happened in this saga.

“My Last Email Exchange with Jim Clemente” Before and after my interview with Jerry Sandusky I had extremely extensive and intensive interaction with sex crimes expert Jim Clemente, who had previously written a highly-praised report for the Paterno family. Most of our communication was via email and on the phone, though we did meet once on the set of his TV show "Criminal Minds." During this time, I put a great deal of trust in Jim as both a professional and as a person. I structured some of my interview with Sandusky based on his advice and gave him a lot of inside information knowing that it would likely then get to Scott Paterno, whom I already knew viewed me as an enemy to be destroyed. I also tried extremely hard to understand and implement his theories on how pedophiles work into my analysis of what really happened here.

Another one… http://www.briancuban.com/guest-postclementes-efforts-to-clear-joe-paterno-not-convincing/ #.VOzOvvmG_X0 But it seems that Clemente loves to be in the limelight and insist on making a fool of himself. Even on the Amanda Knox case you had to say his opinion was poor, never mind if he did not follow the case…

For quite some time I have been suspecting that this trust in Jim was misplaced. I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt even after he proactively did great damage (at best, out of cowardice) to my efforts and it turned out that his handle on the facts of this case was rather weak. This is the way I generally judge people; they are "innocent" until proven "guilty." I have remained largely silent about any of this until now because I recently I have concluded that Jim is, in fact, "guilty" of blowing this case in important ways, not being honest, and of putting his own self-interest way ahead of the truth of this matter. What follows is what is sure to be our final email exchange. It occurred because Jim, while engaged in some Q & A on Twitter. While he did his best to avoid answering legitimate questions from me about why some of the victims had clearly changed their stories for money. There he made come very "misleading" statements about how it was that he came to change his mind at the last minute (calling me just before I went on CNN) about "approving" of me giving the name of Victim 2, who had written published letters to the editor about his support for Sandusky in his own name.

“There is something comical about ex-FBI agents Jim Clemente and Steve Moore (left and right, above) pretending they are on a real television programme (Media Mayhem hosted by Allison Hope Weiner on LipTV). In reality, they are appearing in homemade YouTube videos. The fact that the duo get so many basic facts wrong makes the whole pathetic debacle even more comical. Clemente, Moore and Weiner are all ignorant about case evidence, presumably because they have never bothered to read the official court transcripts. http://justice4ever.com/2014/08/07/amanda -knox-harry-rag-explains-media-image-campaign/

I am publishing this email exchange (in the order in which it occurred) not because the relatively minor dispute is important beyond our own little worlds, but rather because I think it illustrates just how little Jim Clemente, a person who played an incredibly important role in the Paterno 87

And more he applied as an expert on Quora. Mr. Clemente...are you sure you understand the question?

Question: How can I recognize someone that can become a serial killer or psychopath? Answer: “The quickest way to identify a Psychopath is to administer the PCL-R (Psychopathy Check List - Revised) by Dr. Robert Hare. He's a friend and colleague of mine and along with Dr. Reid Malloy. Both have done a tremendous amount of work in this area. If you really are afraid someone you know is a budding or full on psychopath, then you need to get them to a qualified treatment program asap. The problem is... there is probably no cure for them unless they are young and then maybe they can be "saved." But here's the thing... There are many psychopaths who are very successful in this world. Some are CEO's (Bernie Madoff comes to mind) others have been Presidents, dictators, monarchs etc. Just because someone is a psychopath, doesn't mean they can't play well with others. As long as their needs are being met and they find a way to feed their egos and appetites, they can function in society. Serial Killers are a very different animal. Some are psychopaths, others are far from it. There is a spectrum of behavior that falls into the Serial Killer definition: Two or more murders in separate events (FBI-BAU) or Three or more murders in separate events (Federal Statute). The difference comes form the fact that Congress granted the FBI primary jurisdiction in Serial Murder cases if there are three or more murders. But the FBI-BAU looks at the category as more of a Qualitative rather than a simply Quantitative analysis. The spectrum of serial killers is most easily demonstrated by their motives and there continues to be an ongoing debate on just exactly how many motives should be included: Sexual, Revenge, Injustice Collection, Financial Gain, Psychosis, etc are just the beginning of the differing motives. The important thing to note is that a number of these serial killers look and act like "normal" people in their day to day lives. They are not "Crazy" or "Complete loners" or "Delusional" or anything like that. They have jobs and families and relationships. They function in society and are smart about when, where and who they kill. Chances are if you run into one of them and think that they are a serial killer... you should get the heck out of there--FAST!” http://www.quora.com/How-can-I-recognize-someone-that-can-become-a-serial-killer-or-psychopath/answer/JimClemente?share=1 In my opinion, the answers are equal to ones that would be given by boys just out of school and the brain full of theories, not from an all grown ex FBI guy. By the comments in this forum it look like Mr. Clemente is on Twitter looking for fresh business…http://www.reddit.com/r/ serialpodcast/comments/2r5zkl/looks_like_master_criminal_profiler_jim_clemente/ Very good for you Mr. Clemente! Keep on with your fluffy CRIMINAL MINDS stuff and maybe write another novel, but please stay away from Michel Jackson fans and business...We are nuts..Everybody knows.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Holland-Dozier-Holland Receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame 91

the same people, even if it’s for a short time. Usually, the ones that are successful, they have a 10-year span, and then everybody tends to want to do their own thing. Very few stay together — I guess the Stones, and a few others. But eventually, after 10 years, everyone wants to do something different.” Under Berry Gordy’s magisterial control, Motown in the 1960s bore all the outward traits of a Henry Ford assembly line, churning out singles with a prolificacy rivaled only by Tin Pan Alley. The Holland-Dozier-Holland brand was seen as an essential gear in that machinery, but as Dozier attests, their work was hardly done according to formula.

Songwriters, like writers of all stripes, are often prone to finding themselves left out of the spotlight. But for a select few, their names became a de facto seal of approval, a little parenthetical trademark on the middle of the record that lets listeners know they’re in for something good: LennonMcCartney, Kander-Ebb, Bacharach-David. And of course,

“People figured that everything we did was automatic, but that’s not true,” he says. “There was a lot of trial and error, going back and forth, rethinking things.” Eddie Holland typically took the role of lyricist, with Brian Holland and Dozier handling the music production side, but at its height the trio worked as a tandem, debating not just chord changes, but the underlying themes and philosophies of their deceptively simple pop music.

Operating as Motown’s indefatigable songwriting and production engine for most of the 1960s, the trio of Eddie Holland, Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland, who are receiving a star Feb. 13 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, churned out more than a dozen No. 1 singles and just as many nearmisses for the label, netting 35 Top 10s in all. “You Keep Me Hanging On,” “Baby Love” and “Stop! In the Name of Love” for the Supremes; “How Sweet It Is (to Be Loved by You)” and “Can I Get a Witness” for Marvin Gaye; “Baby I Need Your Loving” and “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)” for the Four Tops – a complete list of their noteworthy compositions would take up the rest of this article.

“We had this idea that it was the girls who bought all the records in those days, so everything was geared toward catching the woman’s point of view, her ear, her idea of what love is like,” he says. “We had all these philosophies about it — ‘if the man does this, then the woman should be saying this…’ — but they didn’t always work. We often ended up missing some little piece that threw off the equation.”

Indeed, he notes that the trio produced a number of seeming “sure things” that wound up lingering on the lower rungs of the charts.

After breaking with Motown in 1968, the trio finally splintered in the early 1970s, when Dozier left to pursue his own solo career. After more than three decades apart, the three finally reunited to pen new tunes for a theatrical adaptation of “The First Wives Club,” which is very gradually working its way to Broadway after several years in development.

“We had a couple of those with Martha and the Vandellas. And man, there was this Four Tops song we did” — Dozier pauses to sing “Without the One You Love (Life Is Not Worthwhile)” — “it just didn’t make it, and we couldn’t understand why. We cut that thing three times. The hook was there, we had that eight-bar intro — we always had those ear-candy intros — we had all of it. But there was just

“It all starts with personalities, with people digging each other, as they used to say,” Dozier says of the songwriting trio’s alchemy. “There’s something true about working with 92

something missing, and people didn’t take to it.”

Of course, along with the labored-over misses came the off -the-cuff hits. The Isley Brothers’ only real Motown success, “This Old Heart of Mine,” was built around a scratch melody that Dozier used to vamp on while warming up in the studio. “The Isleys were always bugging us to write them something, so we said, ‘Let’s give them this thing here.’ We didn’t think much of it, then bam!” While the 1960s still reign in the popular imagination as a period of constant musical experimentation and openness, Dozier notes that pop music of the time was no less faddish, with just as much reticence to playing outside the box. For that reason, the trio had no shortage of difficulty getting the Supremes — at the time a struggling outfit on the Motown roster — to record their career-making single “Where Did Our Love Go.”

was going to be about.” Asked if the three would ever collaborate again, Dozier is both open and noncommittal. “You never know, and the picture changes everyday. But if one of us comes up with something that feels right, then bam, we’ll see what happens.” Andrew Barker Senior Features Writer @barkerrant

“The Supremes had a right to feel like they didn’t want the song, because there was nothing like that at Motown, or on the radio, with that particular feel at the time,” Dozier says. “That was a song that was turned down by the Marvelettes and a couple other people, and we finally gave it to them because they couldn’t afford to turn it down — they didn’t have anything else happening. We went into the studio to put it together, there was all this arguing, the girls hated it, and then bam: We just looked up and the thing was No. 1 for a couple weeks. You don’t really know sometimes, you just toss the coin.”

After splitting with the Holland brothers, Dozier charted a respectable solo career as a singer — 1974’s Nixonskewering “Fish Ain’t Bitin’” was a particular highlight — in addition to penning songs with Phil Collins. The Hollands remained a potent songwriting and producing team, writing for Michael Jackson as well as the Supremes in the 1970s, while Eddie Holland also enjoyed some solo success. The brothers and Dozier experienced their share of legal recriminations with Gordy and one another, but all was forgotten by the time they reconvened to write “The First Wives Club,” which preemed in San Diego back in 2009.

PAYING MICHAEL FORWARD Michael Jackson Chosen Voices AUTHENTICITY “When he said ‘I love you” he meant it, you felt it and it was very, very amazing to me because he could point to the left and say, ‘I love you’… even the people on the right said, ‘He pointed to me.’ He had that ability to connect, and even on that level, with everyone that was there that was open to it and wanted to receive it. I think it’s why he is so loved even now, because everything he did and everything he gave, it was genuine.” ~Amalia Amaki~ DISCOVERING A SENSE OF AUTHENTICITY “In the end, an artist’s life is grounded in integrity and the willingness to witness our version of truth. Defeat is transformed into experience by our willingness to start anew.” WALKING IN THIS WORLD The Practical Art of Creativity - Julia Cameron So, what is it that not only draws hundreds of millions of people to Michael Jackson…but, keeps them? What defines the cosmic sustaining power? How is it possible that he created a collective energy spanning decades? To be sure, there are many entertainers who have succeeded with longevity, many with vitality, timelessness, underscoring humanity. Michael Jackson did 100

more. In a world where violence is the rule, the ease with which our sensibilities numb, happens with regularity. There is only so much we can take in. Empathy turns to frustration, and then to hopelessness. We simply turn off. Michael Jackson was born without an OFF button. His connections were from a higher power, his chosen path a lifelong mission. He was here to bring love to the world through music. His ability to share unconditional love, his openness, sensitivity and vulnerability unified and gave purpose. Through performance, Michael soothed, embracing every facet of the human condition. It is impossible to remain neutral to Michael’s performances…be they recorded, filmed or live. The range of emotions spans all that human beings face in life. Michael offered audiences theatre and masterful storytelling. His vocals reach to the very core because his range of sound and rhythms, his ability to use his voice as an orchestral instrument, all meet us at the cellular level. Emotions are stirred: sexual passion, empathy, loneliness, abandonment, vulnerability, social activism, justice, humanity, love…Michael presented them all and more. He had so many gifts at his disposal…a voice that could go from angelic to seductive to gritty to sublime, the most beautiful background vocal choral music in the pop canon, an inner rhythm that revealed itself in sound and movement, storytelling that touched the heart, a dancer in his soul with a dancer’s body as canvas…singer, songwriter, composer, dancer, performer, director, producer, creator, musician, arranger. His storytelling brought joy, revealed needs, embraced color and culture, created visions for healing, inspired all to collectively reach for a better world. Believing in the POWER OF THE PEOPLE, Michael loved completely. His humility, lack of ego, generosity, charity, kindness, truthfulness, faith, and bravery showed a world how to live. “Even after the world accused him of molesting a child, something he said he would

‘rather slit his wrists’ than do, he did not do what a guilty person would do: run with his tail between his legs, hide. He went right back into the world to fight his fight of truth, love, and service. He continued to build Neverland, where he would bring sick kids with terminal cancer and other debilitating illnesses through and give them a pure experience of the inner child: pure creative expression, love, acceptance, and unabated joy.” (MICHAEL JACKSON MAN BEHIND THE MIRROR by Raamayan Ananda)

about bringing a joyful experience to and sharing a meaningful message with his audiences…whether they were listening to studio recordings, attending live performances or benefiting from the expansive humanitarian efforts his earnings and fame afforded him the opportunity to pursue. (Rosalynn)

Michael offered new realms of possibilities…a solidarity of spirit. He talked the talk and he WALKED the talk. In every sense of the word, HE WAS GENIUNE…AN AUTHENTIC MAN!

“ONCE THE MUSIC PLAYS, IT CREATES ME. THE INSTRUMENTS MOVE ME, THROUGH ME, THEY CONTROL ME. SOMETIMES I’M UNCONTROLLABLE…IT JUST HAPPENS, ONCE IT GETS INSIDE YOU.” Michael Jackson age 24

“It was always about giving love. It was never about how much he got back. We feel a responsibility to really defend his honor, and really stand for what he stood for…he stood for love. Such a statement about someone as hounded and guerilla decontextualized as Michael Jackson so frequently was, should not be too quickly dismissed. It covers more territory than is immediately apparent. It speaks of the giveeverything, hold-nothing back kind of love the singer expressed so fearlessly through his music and person, and which caused millions across the globe to feel an essential part of themselves had died when he did June 25, 2009. Love, after all, in Mr. Jackson’s world, was never anything less than a cosmic-scaled event. The recognition, anticipation and experience of L-O-V-E. (The Examiner…Aberjhani ALLTHINGSMICHAEL) 1. Michael was devotedly self -disciplined and willing to ceaselessly work to grow his skill-set to improve his career, life and performance. 2. He inspired others who worked alongside him to push to their own best performance and best selves, which often reflected well on Michael.

“Music is a very important and powerful substance, and all the planets in the universe make music. It’s called music of the spheres. They all make a different note; they make harmony. So there’s harmony even in the universe as we speak.” Michael Jackson Michael created masterpieces for the ear and eye. He slipped into our psyche and stirred harmony and emotions. We feel and we think when in his company. He shared his soul and there is a permanency in that connection. We have found sincerity and truth, inspiration and hope. Deep inside every facet of Michael’s life there is authenticity. He loved us before we discovered our love for him. There is a divinity in the source of his genius which grows wider and stronger with each day. IT’S ALL ABOUT LOVE AND THAT LOVE IS GENUINE. IT IS REAL.

Thank you, Michael, for giving everything you had to give…our actions will show our gratitude

DISPELLING MYTHS & RUMORS LUNAJO67 What DID happen after June 25th? Part ONE

Advocacy/Vindication Vindicating Michael WADE ROBSON Is Requested To Admit That HE IS A LIAR Helena, Admin/Author 103

paragraphs of the California Penal Code on various types of molestation, thus implying that the complaint covers the whole spectrum of them. The advantage of this paper is that it gives Robson’s story.

WADE ROBSON Is Requested To Admit That HE IS A LIAR Sometimes it is just enough to reread some court documents to stop looking into the behavioral intricacies of the ‘poor boy’ Wade Robson and see the simplicity of the case in all its brutal nakedness.

The “Special Interrogatories” introduce you to a broad range of subjects on which the Claimant wants information from the “Corporation” (MJJ Productions). Its 143 points range from identifying “all business entities in which Decedent had an ownership interest during the time period from approximately 1990 through 1997” to “all persons to whom the Corporation paid consideration to settle claims for negligent infliction of emotional distress by Decedent”. To put it in one word the Claimant’s interrogatories want everything.

This refreshing change took place with me when I was looking for the $1,62 billion sum the ‘poor boy’ is demanding now and in the process happened to reread not only his present court documents but also the testimonies of the whole Robson family at the 2005 trial. You cannot imagine what an eye-opening experience it was. Indeed, the present documents read best of all against the background of these testimonies, thus opening your eyes not only to the glaring falsity of Robson’s current story but also to his incredible ego, cynicism, ingratitude, jealousy, callousness, and his lust for money of course.

The document a curious mind will be most interested in is “Requests for admission” which in its 93 points invites the Defendants to admit various things including the alleged ‘sexual acts’ of which the MJJ Productions and the Estate were evidently supposed to know. Most of the requests for admission are insane, even the most innocent ones. Here is a sample of a request to admit that “the Decedent told Robson that he would become a film director”. So what?

The three documents from the year 2005 are the testimonies of the 22-year old Wade Robson, his mother Joy Robson and his 25-year old sister Chantal Robson. The two documents from Robson today are his ‘Second Amended Complaint’ filed on February 19, 2014 and certain ‘Special Interrogatories and Requests for Admission‘ filed on July 25, 2014.

REQUEST FOR ADMISSION No.17: “Admit that, during the time period from approximately 1990 through 1997, DECEDENT told Wade Robson that Wade Robson would become a film director”.

Same as the first claim the amended one doesn’t elaborate on any “sexual acts” (as it is heavily redacted) but enumerates probably all

Naturally the “Requests for Admission” look 104

like the most captivating part of the collection, but believe it or not, after comparing them with the testimony of three Robson’s at the 2005 trial the document impressed me most not by the encyclopedia of alleged sex crimes enumerated there but by presenting all the good Michael did to the family as something sinister and vile.

suitable for print in order to describe it.

Therefore I will simply make my own first list of Requests for Admission (13 points) and address it to Robson and his family and also to those of you who are still sitting on the fence and “don’t know what to think of it”, poor things. To make it easier for everyone I will try to follow the pattern of the document submitted to the court by Robson’s attorneys. The only difference is that my points will be more detailed than the single-line requests from WR which are only mystifying the public by their total scarcity of detail.

This is what strikes you most after comparing the glorious stories all Robsons told about their friendship with Michael at the 2005 trial and the dry statements of Robson’s present claim where all the good Michael did to them is turned upside down and presented in the vilest manner possible.

Some of the requests will be made for information sake only as they are necessary for describing the scene of the crime (Robson’s crime, naturally).

For example, the list requests the admission that the “Responding party arranged for Wade Robson to dance in one or more of Decedent’s music videos”, applied for visas for the family when they came to settle in the US, helped Robson’s mother with her employment and ensured that payment be made to her though her temporary visa did not allow for it, released an album for Wade on the Michael Jackson’s record label and committed many more malicious acts.

WADE ROBSON IS REQUESTED TO ADMIT THAT HE IS A LIAR

This list of crimes against humanity reads best of all against the background of the family’s testimonies because it is only when comparing these two that you realize that it was the burning desire of the family to get all these malicious things Robson is now complaining about.

AdLLaw Editorial #1: LET’S GET RID OF SLANDER The ones handed down by God. I have found the Ten Commandments have a prevailing principle. Thou shall not steal. Do not steal what belongs to God. Do not steal from your parents and neighbors what is theirs. The Ninth Commandment is most specific: Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

After spending years studying defamation laws and the many locations which provide instruction on how to slander without being exposed; we are at a new place. A solution is being proposed which will insure would-be slanderers no longer need to rely on dissimilation if discovered. This solution would completely relieve the slanderer of responsibility and the consequences of their actions. Advocates against slander express concern over rumblings from sectors of the Media proposing slander laws should be eliminated. These sectors are using the deaths in Paris to establish arguments for discarding these laws. Why anyone would think having or not having slander laws would have prevented the Paris tragedy is beyond me? The only thing I can see this would accomplish is to inflame people, perhaps move them to extreme action when they might otherwise have taken their grievances to court. That is why there are laws, measures meant to prevent people from taking the law into their own hands.

When you slander someone with intent you steal what is theirs; that theft is no lesser than if you broke in their home and took what does not belong to you. Slander for gain is the same as if you took that stolen possession and sold it for your profit. All the rhetoric in the world and titles; teacher; doctor; barber or journalist changes nothing, when you slander no matter living or dead you bear false witness. If we would remember and abide by that Commandment there would be no need for slander laws. However, until that day there is a need, if anything it grows greater as our Social Media and lack of control on it increases. Until our information providers cease tilting the balanced credible in favor of the unethical and unreliable. Slander like every other crime creates more than one victim and affects more than the intended target. But unlike a theft where the property is recovered once slander is done, the target and those affected can never completely recover what was taken.

The comments and opinion express here are solely the writer’s and do not reflect the opinion of all the Members & Supporters of AdLLaw.

Persons who slander and avow an affiliation with a religion which teaches from the Bible seem to have forgotten there is another set of laws. 106

We are asking for a bill that would make it unlawful to defame a person who is deceased. Slander and libel are not protected under the First Amendment while a person is living. The same protection should be extended to a person after they are deceased. The loved ones of someone who has passed on should not have to live with the continued defamatory stories and false accusations that can so easily be paraded as fact.

By means of the Mummy, mankind, it is said, Attests to the gods its respect for the dead. We plunder his tomb, be he sinner or saint, Distil him for physic and grind him for paint, Exhibit for money his poor, shrunken frame, And with levity flock to the scene of the shame. O, tell me, ye gods, for the use of my rhyme: For respecting the dead what's the limit of time?

WATCHMAN ON THE WALL Michael Jackson: Saint or Ain’t

109

I didn’t want to write this week’s Watchman. Mainly because I’d already had a Watchman in mind. In fact, I was editing the 500+ word draft when a dear friend messaged me a YouTube clip. It was a video tribute to the late, great King of Pop. It was well-done, but that’s not what stood out to me. What stood out was the title. Saint Michael.

Y’all, Jesus Christ was a martyr. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a martyr. These men died shouldering heavy burdens of world change. And while the remix to “Blood on the Dance Floor” was the bomb, it hardly ranks up there with dying for the sins of mankind.

Saint. Michael. So we interrupt your regularly scheduled Watchman for a bit of home truth. Look, I get it. With a little creativity (and a few stiff drinks), I could see parallels between the life of Michael Jackson and those of saints and martyrs. I get it. But saint, much like the words angel or god, shouldn’t be thrown out lightly. I can hear the chorus of angry superfans right now. “But how could you say that?” Don’t blame me, blame Webster’s Dictionary.

Yes, Michael Jackson the philanthropist gave away millions of dollars to charity and countless hours to fans. But let us remember that his trial, either directly or indirectly, stemmed from his own actions. Abandoning Neverland and fleeing to the Middle East wouldn’t have been necessary had he understood the sheer inappropriateness of his now-infamous sleepovers and the power of perception. Any suffering was brought on by his relentless pursuit and preservation of fame.

A saint is “a person of great holiness, virtue, or benevolence” and/ or “any of certain persons of exceptional holiness of life, formally

Make no mistake. I’ve been a dyed-in-the-wool fan since I was in diapers, but fellow fans, I implore you, stop calling this man a saint. He was a human being, albeit an incredibly talented one. Michael Jackson was a man and a troubled man at that. Along the same lines, can we stop confusing talent with holiness? Nothing points to Michael Jackson putting a priority on living a holy, set-apart life. His entire career was built on appealing to as many people as possible. The saints and saved among us are in the world, but not of it. Michael Jackson embraced the world and everything for which it stood.

recognized as such by the Christian Church.” Although Michael Jackson started life as a Jehovah’s Witness, his devotion to Christianity toward the end of his 50 years was questionable, to say the least. Equally questionable is the idea that he led an exceptionally holy life. Or maybe he did and his groaning, crotchgrabbing doppelganger smashing out car windows at the end of the “The Way You Make Me Feel” video had us all fooled. Keeping with the theme of inappropriate monikers, I’ve also heard Michael Jackson called a martyr. Citing his post-trial, self-imposed semiexile abroad, there are those see as modern day tale of suffering. Hmm. Excuse me as I cough into my fist with a word that rhymes with “pull spit.”

And now back to our regularly scheduled Watchman.

~The Watchman~

More cries from the superfans. “Michael suffered! He was thrown to the lions by his family, friends and even Sony!” 110
