Why So Much Drama over Diversity? “We are all equal in the fact that we are all different. We are all the same in the fact that we will never be the same. We are united by the reality that all colours and all cultures are distinct & individual. We are harmonious in the reality that we are all held to this earth by the same gravity. We don’t share blood, but we share the air that keeps us alive. I will not blind myself and say that my black brother is not different from me. I will not blind myself and say that my brown sister is not different from me. But my black brother is he as much as I am me. But my brown sister is she as much as I am me.” C JoyBell C IN DIVERSITY THERE IS BEAUTY AND STRENGTH If this is true and I believe it is why do we turn against those who think different than us? As hard as this may be to believe for some of us we don’t all hear or see things the same way. At times one may see a different story in a picture than what another may see OR two people may hear a different message from a song; even though they both listened to the same song the message may have come across different. Two people can read a book and again their reviews may be different. I am a black female and have two sisters but we are all different. All three of us are diverse in our thinking and lifestyles, but we are still sisters. “It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength.” ― Maya Angelou “Different roads sometimes lead to the same castle.” ― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones What we have to do... is to find a way to celebrate our diversity and debate our differences without fracturing our communities. ~Hillary Clinton~ http://whyleadnow.com/2012/04/05/the-beauty-of-diversity/ I think it’s easy to fall into my-way-is-the-best-way tendencies; we trust ourselves and know we’ll do the best job, right? But doing so deprives us of a world of creative opportunity, learning, and growth. As we continue opening ourselves up to others and learning what makes them tick, as well as sharing our own passions, let’s celebrate our collective beauty and remember that we need each other, always. ~kenblanchard~ Once we realize that we are not the “Glue” that can hold things together then we will be the better off for it. We are a body of diverse people who love Michael Jackson and are doing our best to keep his “Legacy” alive. A body is made up of many members who have different functions within that body. There should be no drama where there is diversity. Different is good. Since we are an enormous and unique community it is expected that we will have the same amount of ideas, cultures and beliefs. WHY the untoward excitement over diversity which is so “Good”? 3

FEATURED FAN ART/ARTIST Visual Artist /Professional/Traditional Art

Lainy is a self-taught professional artist who works from her home studio and specializes in dry media and realism. All my friends call me Lainy. I'm a 24 year old fulltime artist, jewelry designer and business owner. When I'm drawing....the whole world melts away. Stresses disappear, all torments of the heart light as a feather. It's in these moments when I hear God most and know his purpose and peace alive in my soul. ♥

It has taken years and endless hours of practice...but I finally feel able to claim the title of "Artist". And I never thought I could love it this much. But I do. I live what I love and I want to share it with you! Like everyone else I started out in coloring books and stick figures! I was the girl sitting in the back of class, hurrying to get classwork finished so I could draw and daydream. I love to try everything...painting, drawing, jewelry...really anything I can get my hands on. But I seem to have found my niche in Chalk and Charcoal. The way it blends and the effects I can put into it fuel my love for creating. It is a medium that carries endless possibilities and there is always more room to grow!

BOOKS

The Jacksons: The truth about the most successful family of American music history

Paperback - Aug. 3, 2009 by Joseph Jackson (Author), Theda Krohm-Left (Translator) He was their father - he became their manager. Single-handedly Joseph Jackson created the most powerful clan in pop music: Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, LaToya, Marlon, Michael, Randy and Janet Jackson. In "The Jacksons" he bluntly gives his view of the truth about his son, Michael Jackson, and the most exceptional family ever . http://www.amazon.de/Die-Jacksons-erfolgreichste-amerikanischen-Musikgeschichte/ dp/3442363799/ German Version Can also read book on Jetzi site: http://jetzi-mjvideo.com/books-jetzi-02/04joej/04joej0a.html

Michael Jackson: The King of Pop's Darkest Hour Hardcover – September, 1994 by Lisa Campbell (Author), A. Caso (Editor)

This book details the career of Michael Jackson and his efforts to finally shed his media shy image. 1993 was destined to be one of the biggest and best years for Michael Jackson, but along came an ugly and disturbing twist - he became the target of allegations of child molestation. Although he constantly kept his complete and total innocence, he was subjected to an unprecedented barrage of media attention and abuse. His every move and motives were questioned, but Jackson consistently and without exception proved his sceptics wrong. This book takes a look at the media's obsession with the story, not with the facts, but with the sensationalism and the potential for profits; big profits! Here are the facts and perspectives that were virtually ignored by the media. http://www.amazon.com/Michael-Jackson-King-Pops-Darkest/ dp/0828320039/ref=sr_1_1? s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1453664540&sr=11&keywords=Michael+Jackson%3A+The+Darkest+Hour

MUSIC -

A GOLDEN WORLD RECORDS STORY

The Holidays and Debonaires A Marriage Made in Detroit by: Rob Moss Motown's purchase of Golden World Records Inc. in September 1966 created considerable turbulence among the artists, musicians, producers and technicians associated with the sequestered company. Speculation persists as to owner Ed Wingate's actual willingness to sell, having refused on several occasions, and the possible involvement of 'outside' organisations in applying pressure on him to bring about the move, as well as providing the capital to finance it. The success of the Golden World and Ric Tic labels with a stable of talented artists providing local, national and international hits, the profitability of the Golden World studio as a recording facility for 'outside' projects and Wingate's association with related businesses that enhanced his profile Maurice Tony Gray of The Holidays and Elsie in the community, all point to the implausibility of such a decision at that juncture. His failure to be associated with Baker of The Debonaires got married in 1967 any and all public announcements of the takeover, choosing instead to let (business partner) Joanne Bratton represent the company, may portray the real story. The immediate effect of the change saw the dissolution of two of the company's most prolific groups - The Debonaires and The Holidays. Both had worked extensively around the city providing background accompaniment for a host of artists, including, ironically, many sessions at Motown, and had recorded under their own identities for Golden World and others. Despite several more records and more background work in the months following the sale, it was the relationship between Elsie Baker and Tony Gray that ultimately signaled the end of both groups, when they were married in the autumn of 1967. The events leading up to the 14

union provide a compelling and engrossing chronicle of life at 3246 West Davison during the mid-1960s. Joyce Vincent, Dorothy Garland and Elsie Baker began life as The Debonaires

by auditioning for Bob

The only problem was the group was too young - two were still in high school and Maurice was at college - so they returned to Jackson and waited till August ’65. They then headed backup up to West Grand Boulevard and just as they were about to walk through Motown’s front door, songwriter Richard Morris persuaded them to turn around. Richard lectured them about the company already having enough groups, so they took his advice and Maurice told me how fate then came into play: “As we were driving from Motown, we hear The Debonaires’ song “Eenie, Meenie, Gypsaleenie” on the radio and we listened to the baseline and drums, and we listened to the girls sing, and they sounded right on the same borderline as Motown. We got the name of the company (Golden World) and I called and spoke to Don Davis. He asked us if we had any original songs; so we auditioned ten and ‘I’ll Love You Forever’ was number seven on our list. It didn’t go quite the way it does now - it went a little different - but when he heard it he knew it was a hit.”

The Golden World group that toured were from Left to Right: Maurice Tony Gray, Willie “Butch” Johnson, Eddie Anderson and Robert “Earl” Johnson. Tony Hester featured on the “I’ll Love You Forever” recording session and Edwin Starr overdubbed his lead vocal on later. http:// soulfuldetroit.com/web15-Holidays/08-Golden-World.htm

By 1966, the well-connected and deep-pocketed Mr. Ed Wingate had developed his Golden World Company into a serious rival to Motown. The two studios shared the same distinctive Detroit sound due to many musicians doing sessions at both. Golden World’s studio was at 3246 West Davison and was managed by Mr. Wingate’s partner, Joanne Bratton.

Created in the cotton fields around Jackson, Mississippi, “I’ll Love You Forever” became the biggest hit by any of the Holidays groups. Ironically, the group of four young men who took it up to Detroit in pursuit of fortune and fame are probably the least well known.

The company had had nationwide success during ’65 with Edwin Starr’s “Agent Double-O-Soul” and then “S.O.S” - both on Golden World’s sister label, Ric-Tic. He had become the company’s biggest artist, but by February of 1966, a few months had elapsed since “S.O.S” had charted and Mr. Wingate knew he needed a hit to revive Edwin’s chart life.

Teenagers Maurice Tony Gray, Willie “Butch” Johnson, Robert “Earl” Johnson and Charles “Chuck” Guy kicked off their recording career with “If I Should Lose You” on the Buccaneer label. Jobie Martin, a DJ on local WOJK who acted as their manager, presented the song to the group and Maurice (aka Tony) told me how their recording career started:

By this time one of the four guys from Mississippi - the lead singer, Chuck - was no longer in the group; he had joined the military. But the other three had started earning money by singing background and Don had christened them The Holidays, a name he’d borrowed from Jimmy Holland’s place. And all the while, the group’s “I’ll Love You Forever” was being developed, which wasn’t as fast as Maurice had anticipated:

“There was a studio in Jackson owned by one of the southern boys, named Bob, and he asked us to record. It was supposed to be a test record, but it sounded so good they just put it out.” The four guys - called The Caprees – sang The Dreamlovers’ song and the disc enjoyed regional success, but the quartet dreamed of bigger and better things. They could hear Motown hits on local radio stations and Detroit seemed to be the place to be. It took a couple of years, but they eventually traveled up to Michigan and auditioned for Motown. Maurice:

“We were working on it and Tony Hester and Don Davis had a lot to do with the structure of song, the music itself. But what Don and Tony had put together was not coming out right in the studio and Don said ‘you know what you want, so go in the studio,’” which Maurice did. Aided by the musicians - Johnny Griffith, bassist Bob Babbit and drummer Pistol Allen - the end result pleased everyone, and as Maurice put it, “Everybody wanted to hear the track”. Joe Hunter actually wrote the lead sheet and guitarist Dennis Coffey arranged the strings – his first time – that float in at the intro.

“We did one of James Brown’s songs called ‘Bewildered’ and they said, ‘Wow!’ and that we were the most talented group that had auditioned; period.”

16

Maurice then told me how Tony Hester briefly became a Holiday:

When we were getting ready to cut the song, I was arranging the background, so Don and I figured that if I was going to lead, we had to have a fourth member. So, Tony (Hester) was there and we all got on real good. We went in the studio; I put on one lead version without the adlibs so the background could be put on. Then we put the background on. Tony was singing my note in the background – he was a member of The Holidays at the time. Once we put the background on, Tony decided he wanted to write and produce, he didn’t really want to sing.” The song seemed to be finally coming together, until, as Maurice recalled: “Then word came down that Edwin needed this song.”

http://soulfuldetroit.com/web01-soulfuldetroit/goldenworld.htm

That didn’t go down well with the Holidays at all. Maurice:

GOLDEN WORLD THE OTHER DETROIT MUSIC EMPIRE

“I didn’t even know who Mr. Ed Wingate was at the time - as far as who he was and the potentiality of his power. But I knew that that was not going to happen. And who did I fire off to? Mr. Ed Wingate! Everybody thought I was nuts. After all the arguments, he decided we shouldn’t be at the company anymore and we decided we shouldn’t be at the company anymore. We walked away. But that song was still there.”

Berry Gordy wasn’t the only enterprising Black man in Detroit in the 50’s and 60’s. Another success story that is overshadowed by the folk lore romance with Motown is that of one Ed Wingate.

Wingate was a successful business-

man who owned a motel, several cafes, a taxi cab

As far as The Holidays were concerned, that was the end of their stint at Golden World. They were confident about their abilities and were sure something would turn up. Maurice remembered it didn’t take long for another door to open:

Meanwhile, “I’ll Love You Forever” - featuring Edwin Starr’s overdub - had been shipped to record stores with a super-charged instrumental called “Makin’ Up Time” on the B-side. Copies were being bought like proverbial hot cakes and Golden World needed a group to go on the road. With Tony Hester having pulled out of the group to focus on writing and producing, Eddie Anderson was drafted in to fill the fourth spot.

Many thanks to my uncle and aunt, Maurice Tony Gray and Elsie (Baker-Gray) for sharing their “Soulful Detroit - Golden World” experience while also guiding me to the right places. This story was shared with me about two years ago, but I’m just getting around to sharing it. I thoroughly enjoyed this informational journey. It’s amazing what one can glean from the family history if we just take the time to inquire and follow-up. After leaving the music industry they both pursed other careers. Uncle MT became a fireman and Aunt Elsie became a school teacher. I am so proud of the both of them. By the way “Maurice Tony Gray” is one of my father’s younger brothers.

February - Black History Month nized Black History Month in 1976, calling upon the public to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.”

Black History Month, or National African American History Month, is an annual celebration of achievements by black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in U.S. history. The event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating black history.

Since then, every American president has designated February as Black History Month and endorsed a specific theme. http://www.history.com/topics/blackhistory/black-history-month 2016 Theme – Hallowed Grounds: Sites of African American Memories

ORIGINS OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH

The history of African Americans unfolds across the canvas of America, beginning before the arrival of the Mayflower and continuing to the present. From port cities where Africans disembarked from slave ships to the battle fields where their descendants fought for freedom, from the colleges and universities where they pursued education to places where they created communities during centuries of migration, the imprint of Americans of African descent is deeply embedded in the narrative of the American past. These sites prompt us to remember and over time became hallowed grounds.

The story of Black History Month begins in 1915, half a century after the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in the United States. That September, the Harvard-trained historian Carter G. Woodson and the prominent minister Jesse E. Moorland founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH), an organization dedicated to researching and promoting achievements by black Americans and other peoples of African descent. Known today as the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), the group sponsored a national Negro History week in 1926, choosing the second week of February to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. The event inspired schools and communities nationwide to organize local celebrations, establish history clubs and host performances and lectures.

One cannot tell the story of America without preserving and reflecting on the places where African Americans have made history. The Kingsley Plantation, DuSable’s home site, the numerous stops along the Underground Railroad, Seneca Village, Mother Bethel A.M.E. Church and Frederick Douglass’ home — to name just a few — are sites that keep alive the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in our consciousness. They retain and refresh the memories of our forbears’ struggles for freedom and justice, and their belief in God’s grace and mercy. Similarly, the hallowed grounds of Mary McLeod Bethune’s home in Washington, D.C., 125th Street in Harlem, Beale Street in Memphis, and Sweet Auburn Avenue in Atlanta tell the story of our struggle for equal citizenship during the American century.

DID YOU KNOW? The NAACP was founded on February 12, 1909, the centennial anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln.

In the decades that followed, mayors of cities across the country began issuing yearly proclamations recognizing Negro History Week. By the late 1960s, thanks in part to the Civil Rights Movement and a growing awareness of black identity, Negro History Week had evolved into Black History Month on many college campuses. President Gerald R. Ford officially recog-

Carter G. Woodson was an AfricanAmerican writer and historian known as the "Father of Black History Month." He penned the influential book The Mis-Education of the Negro.

Historian (1875–1950)

Woodson and James Woodson. The fourth of seven children, young Woodson worked as a sharecropper and a miner to help his family. He began high school in his late teens and proved to be an excellent student, completing a four-year course of study in less than two years. After attending Berea College in Kentucky, Woodson worked for the U.S. government as an education superintendent in the Philippines and undertook more travels before returning to the U.S. Woodson then earned his bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Chicago and went on to receive a doctorate from Harvard University in 1912—becoming the second African American to earn a Ph.D. from the prestigious institution, after W.E.B. Du Bois. After finishing his education, Woodson dedicated himself to the field of African-American history, working to make sure that the subject was taught in schools and studied by scholars. For his efforts, Woodson is often called the "Father of Black History."

Synopsis

Carter G. Woodson was born in 1875 in New Canton, Virginia. One of the first African Americans to receive a doctorate from Harvard, Woodson dedicated his career to the field of African-American history and lobbied extensively to establish Black History Month as a nationwide institution. He also wrote many historical works, including the 1933 book The Mis-Education of the Negro. He died in Washington, D.C., in 1950.

Writing 'Mis-Education of the Negro'

Early Life

In 1915, Carter G. Woodson helped found the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (which

Carter Godwin Woodson was born on December 19, 1875, in New Canton, Virginia, to Anna Eliza Riddle 26

later became the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History), which had the goal of placing African-American historical contributions front and center. The next year he established the Journal of Negro History, a scholarly publication. Woodson also formed the African-American-owned Associated Publishers Press in 1921 and would go on to write more than a dozen books over the years, including A Century of Negro Migration (1918), The History of the Negro Church (1921), The Negro in Our History (1922) and Mis-Education of the Negro (1933). MisEducation—with its focus on the Western indoctrination system and African-American self-empowerment—is a particularly noted work and has become regularly course adopted by college institutions. In addition to his writing pursuits, Woodson also worked in a number of educational positions, serving as a principal for Washington, D.C.'s Armstrong Manual Training School before working as a college dean at Howard University and the West Virginia Collegiate Institute.

Creating Black History Month Woodson lobbied schools and organizations to participate in a special program to encourage the study of African-American history, which began in February 1926 with Negro History Week. The program was later expanded and renamed Black History Month. (Woodson had chosen February for the initial weeklong celebration to honor the birth months of abolitionist Frederick Douglass and President Abraham Lincoln.) To help teachers with African-American studies, Woodson later created the Negro History Bulletin in 1937 and also penned literature for elementary and secondary school students. Woodson died on April 3, 1950, a respected and honored figure who received accolades for his vision. His legacy continues on, with Black History Month being a national cultural force recognized by a variety of media formats, organizations and educational institutions.

FRIDAY MARCH 18, 2016 12PM-1PM 50 W. WASHINGTON CHICAGO, IL INSIDE COURT BUILDING LOBBY ENTRANCE AT RANDOLPH/DEARBORN

THIS IS A MEMORIAL CELEBRATION FOR CEO CELESTRIAL-EVENT MR. JAMES WHITEHEAD. A PLUS SIZE FASHION SHOW COMPANY BASED IN ILINOIS

James Whitehead passed away, from a stroke, on March 13, 2015 ten days before his 51st birthday. He was truly a character and had a love for plus size women. He provided modeling opportunities for full figured women in the Chicago market by producing annual plus size fashion shows and streaming them online all over the world. Many plus size corporate clothing companies donated the attire for his fashion shows because they knew it would generate profits. I met James in 2002 and he was also a video producer and editor. We bartered services over the years. He shot and edited video footage of my family reunion in 2008. The Dantzler Family reunion, and of course a plus size fashion show was incorporated at the family dinner with my family members and his models. I remember during rehearsals he would bring products to entice all of us into purchasing them. One of product in particular was a body shaper, of course I knew what James was up to and never purchased one. They are great to have and some of the models and my family made purchases. Ladies you know how men are they tempt us with the goods and we most times bite. Unfortunately when James passed his family raised funds to cremate him and never gave him a memorial service. I did not find out he passed away until 6 months later, so I reached out to friends, family, and models and planned the show. I would also like to acknowledge my partner in the show venture Ms. Shettima Webb, Executive Director of Model Esteem. This is their slogan

Michael Jackson secretly wrote the music for 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3' By: Nate Scott | January 25, 2016

I suppose I knew this all along, deep down in my heart. According to a fantastic story from Todd Van Huling in Huffington Post, the longstanding rumor that Michael Jackson was involved in the soundtrack for Sega’s Sonic The Hedgehog 3 video game is true.

eventually make it into the game. The reason Jackson took his name out of the game? No one really knows, but it could be the controversy surrounding child abuse allegations that led to it, or perhaps Jackson’s unhappiness at the sound quality when rendered in the final game.

The entire story is worth a read, as it traces the earliest stages of the idea that Jackson was involved — from a fan of the game who noticed some similarities in the music — to the modern day discovery that Jackson was, in fact, involved.

In any event, go read the story. It’s fantastic. By: Nate Scott | January 25, 2016

From Huffington Post:

Nate Scott is a writer and editor at FTW, leading the site's culture coverage. He likes writing about soccer, basketball, music, TV, and the evils of the ocean.

For around four weeks in 1993, Jackson and his team worked out of Record One studio in California, creating “something like 41” tracks – or cues, as they’re called in the video game world, Buxer said. Jones remembers Jackson calling him, sometimes late at night, to share ideas and sing melodies that would

Gymnast Makes History By Creating Her Own Signature Move Marisa Dick Lands Spot In History Books 18-year-old Trinidadian gymnast Marisa Dick might be young, but she’s definitely ready to make history — and she’s done just that.

Soaring into the air with her legs extended in the splits, Dick lands perfectly on the balance beam, completing her now signature, never-before-seen move — which made its debut this past October during the world gymnastics competition in Glasgow, Scotland. “It’s super cool to know that my name will kind of live on in the world of gymnastics,” she said to CBC News, “It’s really exciting. It was one of my biggest goals going into worlds, to get this move named after myself.” Now, with the original move bearing her name in the Code of Points, the official gymnastics rulebook, Dick aims to continue making history during the 2016 Olympics for the Trinidad and Tobago gymnastics team, if she qualifies. Dick currently resides in St. Albert, Alberta, and has dual citizenship with Trinidad and Canada.

Eugene Brown uses chess to teach inner-city children a lesson of life he learned the hard way: "To Always Think Before You Move". This has become the mantra for Eugene Brown's philosophy, and a way of life. He knows whereof he speaks.

on the right course. The Big Chair Chess Club, Inc. was founded and formed to reach the un-reachable, teach the unteachable and instilling the motive "To Always Think Before You Move". This is the core mission of The Big Chair Chess Club, Inc. at the Deanwood Branch located in the Nation's Capitol. The Organization teaches chess to inner-city children and adults not just as a board game, but also as an application to life skills, such as improving one's concentration and self-discipline.

Brown started playing chess while he was incarcerated in federal prison following a botched bank robbery. Chess was a good distraction from the dreary routine and depressing world around him. Born in Washington, DC, Brown is 58 years old. He attended the inner city, District of Columbia Public Schools, where he was diagnosed as requiring social adjustment classes.

Members of The Big Chair Chess Club, Inc., team has competed in the National Scholastic Tournament in Nashville, TN and Charlotte, NC as well as the Super National Tournament in Kansas City, MI and won trophies. The Big Chair Chess Club, Inc., has trained elementary school students at several schools, including the Kimball Elementary School where they trained and coached the students through seven (7) years of city championships.

His anti-social behavioral lead to early brushes with Juvenile Justice Law Enforcement, resulting in early incarceration at correctional youth institutions as a teen, and prison times as an adult. Today, Brown, the Founder and CEO of The Big Chair Chess Club is a father, grandfather, a real estate agent, and mentor to D.C. youths who stop by The Deanwood Chess House, located at 4220 Sheriff Road, NE, as a way to avoid the "Big House" later in life. He is presently involved with developing and implementing re-entry programs for youths and adults who are poised for release from prison. Mr. Brown has received offers for the production of his "life story" from several filming companies. He has appeared on ABC, Up Close, and appeared on radio and other local television programs.

In a recent interview with Techyville.com, he cites Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as his hero and acknowledges how Dr. King opened doors for African American's such as himself to realize their dreams. He also regards the famous violinist Itzhak Pearlman as a role model because of his ability to become a virtuoso violinist despite his physical disability acquired from contracting Polio at an early age.

Andrew Koonce, 15, is a talented African-American violinist from Atlanta. His list of awards and titles are impressive. As an eighth grader, he ranked first place at the Heritage Music Festival in Florida, winning the Maestro Award for best solo.

Hopefully Koonce will arouse an interest in achieving your own goals, whatever they may be.

Andrew Koonce is an extremely talented AfricanAmerican violinist based in Georgia. He is well on his way to becoming a world-recognized name in concert halls. Along with winning numerous awards and competitions, he has held some of the highest positions in well-respected youth orchestras in Atlanta.

While other kids might be idolizing rappers or pop stars, Andrew is taking violin lessons and honing his craft as a virtuosic violinist capable of keeping up with a professional musician twice his age. He's an inspiration to children and teens, showing them what happens when you get involved with something and stay committed to it.

JAMIE FOXX SAVES CAR CRASH VICTIM FROM BURNING VEHICLE Jamie Foxx turned into a real-life action hero by saving someone from a burning car near his Los Angeles home. The 48-year-old Oscar-winner rushed to the overturned car in front of his Sleepy Valley house after it skidded on the wet road, hit a ditch, and burst into flames.

Foxx, who called 911, told the California Highway Patrol that he was afraid the vehicle would explode so he pulled the driver to safety 30 feet away.

Brett Kyle, 32, of Newbury Park, was driving a 2007 Toyota Tacoma west on Potrero Road at a high rate of speed, police said. The vehicle flipped over several times, bursting into flames and trapping Kyle. One of two witnesses who sprang into action grabbed a rescue tool, police said. They broke the Toyota’s window, cut the seatbelt and pulled Kyle out. “The story a nurse told, was that Jamie Foxx pulled the passenger out of his car. Not only a hero in the movies, but a hero in true life. Thank you sir, for doing what not everyone would have done. You are a true hero.” The group Safety For Citizens described Foxx’s heroics on its Facebook page – saying the actor told officers he heard the driver screaming in his vehicle. “Another person on scene said the person had suffered severe facial burns,” the group wrote. Foxx was widely praised on the organization’s page for his actions and good-guy personality. 5-YEAR-OLD LEADS BLIND GRANDMOTHER TO SAFETY FROM BURNING HOME 5-year-old “Cloe Woods” led her blind grandmother from their burning home to safety, thanks to a lesson she learned on a school field trip. Cloe Woods' pre-K class at Our Lady of Perpetual Help visited the Kenner Fire Department in October to learn about fires. "They talked to the kids saying if there was a fire you need to get out of the house," said her teacher Brittany Gaillot. Cloe was listening and learning, and that knowledge came handy the morning the stove caught fire, setting off the smoke alarm. Cloe's mom said the girl jumped out of bed and ran to her blind grandmother's room. "She told my mom to hold her shoulder and that they had to get out of the house," said Shone Arceneaux. Once she was out of (Photo: WWL-TV, the house Cloe made sure her grandmother and dog were OK before running door to door looking for one New Orleans) thing. "I wanted water, to pour it," Cloe said. When Arceneaux returned home from driving her older children to their carpool stop nearby, Cloe brought her the news. "She was running and telling the neighbors to call 911, and I said, 'What's going on?' she said, 'The house is on fire,' so I jump out of the car and said, 'What?'" said Arceneaux. Kenner Fire Department Chief John Hellmers said that because the little girl paid attention on a field trip, tragedy was avoided. "She saved her grandmother's life and saved her own life," said Hellmers. Wynton Yates, WWL-TV, New Orleans 48

KATT WILLIAMS GIVES $1000 TO FAN IN A WHEELCHAIR AFTER HIS SHOW IN BOSTON Laughter pays off for comedians and fans alike especially when Katt Williams gave $1000 to a fan in a wheelchair after his show in Boston. The comedian showed his heart for a woman battling for a new kidney which was exactly the right thing to do. After delivering the laughs on stage, Katt Williams was informed by his security team that a woman was in a wheelchair crying. The adult woman was brought backstage to meet Williams and revealed her health issue. The funny man excused himself from the room and returned with a folded up paKatt Williams, Comedian per. Katt had autographed the paper saying, “God Never Leaves” with ten 100 dollar bills enclosed. The woman was shocked and thought Katt was handing her some marijuana.

It is great to see Katt Williams give back to his fans in this manner. I don’t know many celebs that reach out to help fans that are in tough situations like needing a kidney. I know celebs give to organizations but Katt went straight to the source of need. READ ARTICLE HERE Original article by: TMZ http://www.eonline.com/news/451424/katt-williams-gives-1-000-to-wheelchair-bound-fan Amazing how club937.com published this story in 2013 and there’s only one comment. I can imagine the comments posted on TMZ site. I didn’t even bother to check. In all fairness eonline.com have a few positive comments posted. To be honest I’ve never heard or read anything but the negative reports on Mr. Williams. I found this story a few days ago and it’s almost three years old. Three years ago radio DJ’s and a few journalist were discussing and making jokes about Katt Williams’ court dates and insinuating how he was likely on drugs. I think many people like to be entertained but the entertainment industry can be a monster. They build up artist just to let them down. Mr. William, while I don’t agree with your jokes I do lift you up for this humanitarian effort toward your fan. 49

SPIRITUAL DEVOTIONS CALL FOR LOVE FEBRUARY 28, 2016 - ARMAGEDDON OF THE BRAIN TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON, AND A TIME FOR EVERY PURPOSE UNDER THE HEAVENS. (ECC.3:1) IT

WAS A SMALL POMANDER SHAPED LIKE A GINGER JAR.

DECORATED WITH ORIENTAL-STYLE ARTWORK IN GOLD AND WHITE ON THE BLACK CERAMIC BACKGROUND, IT STOOD LITTLE MORE THAN FOUR INCHES HIGH. W HEN MY HUSBAND AND I MOVED TO THE MIDWEST, IT WAS NEAR CHRISTMAS TIME. HIS BROTHER ATTENDED A HOLIDAY PARTY AT WORK, AND CAME HOME WITH THIS POMANDER, WHICH HE GAVE TO ME. IT HAD THE MOST HEAVENLY SMELL, AND I TREASURED IT ALL THESE YEARS AS A GESTURE FROM MY BROTHER-IN-LAW THAT INDICATED TO ME THAT I WAS ACCEPTED. TODAY IT FELL FROM ITS PERCH NEAR THE SINK, AND SHATTERED, AND A PIECE OF MY HEART WAS BROKEN. IT HAD SYMBOLIZED TO ME ONE OF THE FIRST GESTURES OF WELCOME FROM MY NEW FAMILY. WHEN I

WAS YOUNG, MY LIFE WAS FULL OF GAINS; NOW IT IS FULL OF LOSSES.

MANY,

HAVE DIED, AND MOST ALL OF MY PARENTS’ GENERATION IS GONE AS WELL.

YEAR

MANY FUNERALS,

HARD TO LET GO OF

I

COMMENTED THAT MY CLOSET CONTAINED MOSTLY

SO MUCH THAT IS FAMILIAR, THAT IS COMFORTABLE.

EVEN

ONE BLACK. IT’S

MANY FRIENDS

I

WENT TO SO

THE MINOR CHANGES TO OUR BODIES AS WE

AGE ARE REMINDERS THAT LOSS IS PART OF LIFE.

MICHAEL COINED THE PHRASE “ARMAGEDDON OF THE BRAIN” IN “STRANGER IN MOSCOW .” W HEN I HEAR THOSE WORDS, I THINK OF A VAST WASTELAND OF THE MIND. ARMAGEDDON CAN REFER TO BOTH THE PLACE AND THE BATTLES THAT TAKE PLACE AT THE END TIMES. I’M NOT SURE NOW WHETHER I PERCEIVE “ARMAGEDDON OF THE BRAIN” AS THE PLACE, OR THE BATTLE! BUT AT TIMES IN OUR LIVES, IT SEEMS A FITTING DESCRIPTION OF ALL THAT IS TAKING PLACE.

AND

YET…NONE OF US IS TRULY A STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND, MUCH AS IT MAY SOMETIMES FEEL

THAT WAY.

FOR

ALL OUR LOSSES, WE HAVE MANY PEOPLE SURROUNDING US WHO PROVIDE SOLICE,

COMFORT, BLESSING, AND

LOVE. MAYBE

THAT’S THE POINT: THAT WE NOT GET SO CAUGHT UP IN OUR

OWN LOSSES THAT WE LOSE SIGHT OF THE MANY WONDERS THAT LIFE STILL PROVIDES.

THEY ARE MANY. AND GLORIOUS. AND THEY CALL US TO FOCUS ON WHAT WE HAVE GAINED AND NOT WHAT WE LOSE. AND TO BE GRATEFUL FOR IT ALL, BECAUSE IT MAKES UP THE BEAUTIFUL TAPISTRY OF OUR LIVES.

RYAN WHITE - MICHAEL JACKSON Ryan White, symbol of justice Or child of innocence, messenger of love Where are you now, where have you gone? Ryan White, I miss your sunny days We carelessly frolicked in extended plays I miss you, Ryan White I miss your smile, innocent and bright I miss your glory, I miss your light Ryan White, symbol of contradiction Child of Irony, or child of fiction? I think of your shattered life Of your struggle, of your strife While ladies dance in the moonlit night Champagne parties on charted cruises I see your wasted form, your ghostly sight I feel your festering wounds, your battered bruises Ryan White, symbol of agony and pain Of ignorant fear gone insane In a hysterical society With free-floating anxiety And feigned piety I miss you, Ryan White You showed us how to stand and fight In the rain you were the cloudburst joy The sparkle of hope in every girl and boy In the depths of your anguished sorrow Was the dream of another tomorrow

“SHOUT IT OUT” The John Legend Issue 2009 Analysis of Michael Jackson’s Skin Color It’s now 2016 and I’m just finding out about the John Legend - Michael Jackson skin color insult. Of course I learned of this critique by reading some comments from a couple of Michael Jackson’s fans posted in a Facebook group. The two fans seem to be troubled that the MJ fans are making a big fuss over the English film and stage actor, Joseph Fiennes, portraying Michael in a short comedy movie based on a myth or fictitious story. READ ARTICLE HERE.

pecially advocacy and vindication initiatives. There was much researching, letter writing and debunking of lies found in articles, on hate websites, YouTube and books. Again, there was so much going on.

I noticed on the three news sites above, concerning the John Legend insult, I do not see very many comments posted. That tells me that a lot of MJ fans did not see these articles and maybe because the articles were not shared very much in the MJ community. That has to be the reason why there is little to no conversation as far as comments from fans posted on these articles.

The point they make in the post is there was little to almost nothing said, by MJ fans, about the John Legend insult concerning Michael’s skin color in 2009. I’ve found three articles, which speak to this insult, at these links. ARTICLE #1, ARTICLE #2 and ARTICLE #3. I understand the view the two fans gave concerning this and perhaps under different circumstances I would agree.

AND NOW THE REAL PROBLEM FOR THE ANGER. John Legend is one of many musicians featured in Michael Jackson's Journey from Motown to Off the Wall, Courtesy of 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks. Okay, I don’t blame them for being upset about that. Heck if I had known John Legend insulted Michael back in 2009 I would have been mad too. I’m not very happy about it now.

In 2009, the year we lost Michael Jackson to death, his family, friends and fans were in a very unfathomable place of grief. There was much concentration on his death, the autopsy, his family especially Mrs. Jackson and the children, the memorial and the funeral service. Many articles were being written, television specials aired, documentaries, you name it. The list goes on and on. Heck it was in September when they finally laid him to rest and he died in June. There was a lot going on friends.

However, I trust Spike Lee and feel that a lot of decisions for this documentary were not made by him. More than likely it was the estate managers who made most of the decisions (read the question and answer session). Spike Lee has earned the respect of many and especially in the MJ community. He has shown nothing but true love and respect for Michael and that path continues to this date. It gives him pleasure to promote anything Michael and he has enjoyed making those documentaries. He has already let the estate managers know that he

The fans were not just in a place of grief but most were in combat mode too. This was a time when we were all on the same accord and headed in the same direction. Whatever was brewing and we felt the need to fight for Michael we did that, all of US. There were countless ventures created in the memory of MJ, es63

wish to do a documentary on “Thriller” although he has not been given an answer by estate managers. Last thought on this: In my opinion both are insults, the Joseph Fiennes and John Legend issues. However, I think we’ve let too much time pass to raise hell about the John Legend insult. We can question why John Legend has been given space in the “Off The Wall” documentary but what about all the other African Americans and other races of people who had the same question and voiced it? I’ll give John Legend credit at least for being honest. IT took a lot of balls for him to let that fly out of his mouth. He could have received a major beat-down from some MJ fans, LOL. Now I don’t have to wonder whether he’s a real Michael Jackson supporter because he has proved that he’s NOT and I do not support him either. Since he voiced his opinion about Michael’s skin color I’m shocked that the estate managers allowed him to participate in the documentary, but “oh well”. I think it was by divine intervention that the John Legend story did not get shared like the majority of negative articles about Michael did. Very strange but probably for the best.

This legend truly inspired me. She is 89 year old professional dancer Mellie Cruz. She joined Chicago famed Joseph Holmes Dancers when she was 47. You are never too old to dance. Ironically Joseph Holmes was my neighbor when I lived downtown from 1981-to 1985 ages 10-14. Joseph Holmes wanted me to join his dance group but everyone was so much older than me I thought I was too young.

I really regret it because Joseph passed away. This is the second time I was reunited with a Joseph Holmes Dancer. The first time was when I went to Los Angeles on business in 2013 and discovered Joseph Holmes Dancer Kim Gadlin and we were in the same bible study group. I had not seen her since I was 17 years old back in 1988 in the Joseph Holmes Tribute dance. “A Song for Joseph”. Kim we got work to do girl.

So I am sitting in the balcony watching the musical and I look over to my right and I see this woman who looks familiar to me. She also kept looking at me and smiling, so when the lights come on the gentleman on my left said that’s Minister Farrakhan over there, so by this time I had started a conversation with this lady who is Mrs. Kadijah Farrakhan wife of Minister Farrakhan and FIRST LADY TO THE NATION OF ISLAM; and told her I went to Kenwood High School with your son Abnar. That led to a conversation with other family members. So I spoke to Minister Farrakhan, and told him I worked very closely with the Jackson Family and that I was producing a Michael Jackson Unity Picnic in June (see picnic info in this issue of WRGO. He asked me to send him some info about it so I said “well you can write a check and just pay for the picnic) and he laughed and said I will help. However one of the production staff, along with another family member, said this was not a good time to exchange information and that they would get my info from the producer of the Musical. So we have to wait and see what happens. Minister Farrakhan was one of the sponsors of the musical.

HEEL The World The Shoe That GROWS

68

Together, we can Heel the World Do we have enough kind SOULS here to HEEL the World? We're goin' back to Liberia in a project that will see the most deprived children of Monrovia receive shoes. And not just any shoes. These are shoes that GROW courtesy of an amazing invention made possible by the charity Because International! In fact, they grow five sizes in five years, which means that once a child has a pair of these special shoes, they will be of practical benefit for a very long time. Due to the lasting effects of a harsh and relentless civil war, there are countless children in Liberia still living in slums and walking around with ill-fitting shoes at best; and no shoes at worst. For most children in central Monrovia, no shoes are the norm, making them vulnerable to soil-transmitted parasites and diseases. After an incredible partnership which saw numerous buckets and hand-washing materials distributed throughout the capital in the midst of the Ebola crisis, we've once again teamed up with Joshua and all the guys at Christian Youth Empowerment who will be helping to distribute these amazing shoes on the ground during the month of April. Just £20 (or $30) will cover the cost of one pair of shoes, PayPal deductions, shipping AND distribution costs. If you can't afford to fund a pair, please still give what you are able, and we'll put your gift towards the collective whole. Let's fund as many shoes as possible in Michael's memory and through his precious example before this project closes at the end of March. Visitation was from 2 to 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26 at Jackson – Highley Funeral Home Chapel. Harry Lloyd Wright “Majestik Magnificent” was born to Rose Wright Thomas, July 30, 1955 in Helena, Arkansas. Majestik was affectionately named after his late grandfather, Harry J. Wright. As a child Majestik dreamed of becoming an entertainer and making it big in Hollywood. He began his career as a magician in Las Vegas in the 1970s. Soon after he met Muhammed Ali who introduced him to Michael Jackson. DAVID BOWIE DIES OF CANCER AT AGE 69 Singer David Bowie, one of the most influential musicians of his era, has died of cancer at the age of 69. A statement was issued on his social media accounts, saying he "died peacefully, surrounded by his family" after an "18-month battle with cancer". Tributes have been paid from around the world to the "extraordinary artist" whose last album was released on his 69th birthday, a few days before his passing. Sir Paul McCartney described him as a "great star" who "played a very strong part in British musical history". Bowie's son Duncan Jones, who is a Bafta-winning film director, wrote on Twitter: "Very sorry and sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to all." Bowie was born David Jones in Brixton, south London, on 8 January in 1947. He changed his name in 1966 after The Monkees' Davy Jones achieved stardom. He was in several bands before he signed with Mercury Records, which released his album Space Oddity in 1969, with the title track becoming his first UK number one. His breakthrough came with 1972's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. He is survived by his second wife, Iman Mohamed Abdulmajid, and children Duncan Jones, the acclaimed sci -fi director, and Alexandria Zahra Jones.

MINISTER AND EVANGELIST DENISE MATTHEWS REST IN PEACE JANUARY 4, 1959 - FEBRUARY 15, 2016

It has been stated that majority of the men on the planet desired this woman, including my childhood sweetheart. He had her poster on the wall and my name next to her poster, if I was ever going to compete with someone for the affections of my man I am honored that it was her.

thought I would grow up and have the opportunity to build a connection and communication with her. She was known as Vanity from the 80’s female pop group Vanity 6 a group singer/songwriter Prince formed. Her story is one of miracles, trials, tribulations and a strong covenant and faith with our creator/savior.

Every time I looked at her I saw myself. I remember writing to her as a teenager and she mailed me back an autographed picture. I never

Denise Katrina Matthews, was singer, songwriter, actress and minister. 76

She has many TV credits including Barry Gordy’s “The Last Dragon” as well as film credits under the name D.D. Winters.

and sisters, Renay Matthews, Patricia Dalton Matthews, and DeBorah Matthews-Brown.

It is so ironic that Whitney Houston took off the flesh one day before the Grammy’s in 2012 and Ms. Denise being the diva she is exited stage right out of her body the day of Grammy awards, February 15, 2016.

See her story here on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tCqeb6b9Bw Hear her story on audio radio show. In this link she speaks about several conversations she had with MJ when they would see each other in passing at events. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_t98np42Ic

I found her on Facebook and inboxed her for an interview on my former radio show “The Gospel House Music Bible Series”. She inboxed me back and gave me her phone number and said she would love to do the interview. I remember after our interview we maintained a communication.

SEE PHOTO GALLERY AND READ HER BIO HERE https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanity_(singer)

I cherish the time I was staying with a group of like-minded spiritual health and wellness group and there was a man there who I was very attracted to. He was attracted to me as well. I was so hot for this man my vagina was on fire. I called Denise so she would pray with me because I could not and refused to be intimate with this man, because my husband is Yahshua the Messiah aka Jesus Christ and I ain’t no cheat. I am saving myself for the husband that will be sent to me. It was 7am and she prayed with me so hard and told me to take a cold shower, lol.

FROM BEAUTY QUEEN TO LOOKING LIKE LENA HORNE

She is truly amazing to say the least. I remained untouched and was proud I got through it. Soon thereafter we would talk about the creator and often had debates on scripture. Oh how I loved that because I love the bible and the Holy Spirit. We would go back and forth on email. I love and still love this sister. Here our interview https://soundcloud.com/gospelhousemusicshow/gospel-house-music-show-23

In 2013 her book, ”BLAME IT ON VANITY” WAS $50.00. At the time I questioned her about the price and she explained to me it was printed in color on high quality paper AND 1 YEAR LATER IT’S $250.00.and available now on Amazon for $999.00 http://www.amazon.com/BlameVanity-Denise-K-Matthews/dp/1878898221/ref=sr_1_1 ie=UTF8&qid=1456721189&sr=8-1&keywords=blame+it+on+vanity+book

READ EXCERPTS OF HER STORY HERE http://www.blameitonvanity.com/index3.php Whatever you are going through we can be inspired by this beautiful soul. This woman overdosed on crack cocaine, rushed to the hospital with a blood pressure of 250 over 190, lost both her kidneys, had a stroke, a heart attack, went deaf, and blind, and was told she had 3 days to live on life support. Denise had a vision of the messiah and he told her to give up the Vanity lifestyle and I will let you live. Denise said “Lord if you let me live I will serve you.”

EVANGELIST DENISE MATTHEWS PREACHING IN JAPAN

Denise had already left the business and had been on a journey to serve our creator prior to getting sick. She had over 20 surgeries and was told on a few occasions she would not live through these surgeries. She suffered blood clots, and had been hospitalized on several occasions and she kept right on preaching and praying and ministering to people. This sweet soul asked her father for a bible when she was 5 years old. This ordained minister went on to preach to millions around the world. She is survived by her mother, Helga Senyk,

She also had beautiful items for sell. She designed clothes and jewelry. STORY BY VALENCIA “MOTHER DIVA” DANTZLER

REMEMBERING REAL It has been one year since I lost a dear friend and colleague to his battle with rectal/colon cancer, Mr. Ahmad “Real” Givens. Ahmad, was an Arabian horse breeder, actor, reality star with 6 successful reality shows, a recording artist with his brothers known as the Stallionaires , a crypto zoologist, and most importantly a wonderful husband and father.

Shortly thereafter, I found out (well we both found out around the same time) that Ahmad had stage 4 rectal/colon cancer. This was around March of 2013. I immediately called my herbalist Dr. Lee Warren, and he expressed mailed Essiac Tea to Ahmad. Along with his brother Chance giving him Graviola pulp Ahmad embarked on a journey of challenges and deep meditation. I emailed him a cancer regiment of various herbs and vitamins. The cancer had spread to other parts of his body and affected vital organs. READ MORE DETAILS IN MY FOLLOW UP STORY ON SOULTRAIN.COM ( http://soultrain.com/2013/04/04/ahmad-real-givens-cancer-fight/ )

Dr. Warren and I were invited on his radio show on October 10, 2013 and he reported that his cancer tumors had shrunk 80 percent. Hear that testimony here. Dr. Warren and I come in at 11 minutes in the show and go into the cancer discussion 32 minutes in. ( http://tradiov.com/la/wp-content/uploads/audio/ RealandChance/Real-and-Chance-10-10-13-V.-Lynn-.mp3 ) Ahmad’s Doctor, wanted to perform surgery to remove the cancer. I was against the surgery and I expressed my concerns to Ahmad. Often time when a person has cancer and surgery is performed it causes the cancer to spread more and faster.

Once again I never thought this young man and I would end up becoming friends. I first saw him on “I LOVE NEW YORK” a reality show on VH-1. My heart just melted when I saw him with all that beautiful long hair. So I reached out to him on Myspace for an interview and he responded. He was so sweet in his message to me. I was immediately drawn to him even more when I read his Myspace Page and he spoke about how much he loves God. There is nothing MORE sexier than a man who loves the Holy Spirit.

Even if they remove the cancer it can grow back. Ahmad was conflicted and decided to have the surgery and went through chemo and radiation. He reported to me that it had spread to his brain and he had two brain tumors. I was so crushed and devastated all I could do was pray. However through this battle he became more closer to the Holy Spirit and was reading the bible and quoting scripture on his Instagram. He always remained in good spirit and prepared his family. See this video clip of his event “REAL CHANCE OF LIFE” sponsored by New York Life Insurance on Black Wealth Network. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHe1S-BpWpo I honored his family with an award at my 35TH ANNIVERSARY OF OFF THE WALL ALBUM TRIBUTE AND AHMAD SENT A VIDEO ACCEPTANCE SPEECH https://www.facebook.com/MotherDivaShow/

Well several years later I finally connected with him when I ran into him and his brother Chance at the 2012 Billboard Awards. Here is our photo and interview.

In 2013 I conducted an in depth interview with Ahmad for an article I was writing for Soul Train about the Stallionaires.

Ahmad and his brothers worked with producer John Barnes, and were mentored by percussionist Paulinho De Costa who both worked with Michael Jackson. Also the Given’s family next door neighbor was Whitman Mayo who portrayed “Grady” on Sanford and Son. Mr. Mayo assisted the boys with getting them auditions in the entertainment industry. 78

Ahmad’s wishes were that he would live to see his 35th Birthday and he celebrated it on January 9, 2015, six weeks before his transition. See this special photo gallery filled with family love and support.

Educating gifted children April 12, 2012

Fadeyev Love (Amor)

This article was written in 2012. at the suggestion of the friendly site http://pryahi.com. Everything described is only a personal opinion at a particular stage and is not any guidance of applying for recognition of the only true. Educating gifted children The observations and conclusions from the experience of the teacher This material is primarily focused on the topic of gifted children. Basically, I will talk about children with talents in the field of theatrical professions, above all, dancers, actors and musicians. Since my personal specialty - a dance and choreography in the framework of the theater, I'm doing this on a material of the Spanish folk dance. Officially, I teach dance to both children and adults for over 18 years, some of my students and students of both amateurs and professional actors and directors. So my argument about the talents, their disclosure and education - is thought learned from all of this teaching experience, which allowed me to look at the development of creative individuals at different ages, status and situation. It is not my purpose to write a scientific paper, I propose a concrete practical experience of many years, which has brought a lot of conclusions and results. I want to warn in advance that all said basically can help to understand the situation, when children and parents aim is to learn the art of professional or semi-professional. Activities and workshops for the general development - a topic which I detail here will not develop. Although she certainly deserves attention. I'm kind of going to touch her. But this is not essential in this conversation. Here it is about the development of talent, which can be used in professional work. Part One of the talents for the teacher

WRGO MAGAZINE WATCHMAN Just A TV Comedy! I’m often surprised by casting choices. For example, Angela Bassett as Tina Turner in “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” still blows my mind. But Ralph Fiennes as Michael Jackson boils my blood. The upcoming BBC made-for-TV movie takes place in 2001 when, to be fair, the King of Pop was extremely fair skinned. While some joke that he looked more like a white woman, committing to celluloid the image of Michael Jackson as anything but a black man is a crime of lazy, disrespectful casting. I’ve asked myself why this is effecting me so much and here it is: the idea of a white man playing Michael Jackson goes deeper than race. This is yet another device employed to dehumanize him. The program is being produced by British television, so this isn’t a Hollywood thing; it is about whitewashing history. Much of the history of African-Americans has been lost to time. In the U.S., pre-Reconstruction Era records are hard to come by, as oftentimes parentage information was forged or intentionally omitted. Ancestry.com can tell narrow down the region of Africa from which your blood originates, but not much else. Still, the TV program has its defenders. “It’s just a 30 minute comedy,” they argue. Does that mean any program running under 30 minutes is exempt from egregious instances of artistic license like changing a person’s nationality? I wonder if defenders of blackface performances felt the same way as these modern day apologists. What’s the issue, they’d say. It’s only a bit of fun. Except that it’s not fun. This casting is reminiscent of the slave era practice of stripping Blacks of their identity and humanity. Nowadays, where identity cannot be stripped, the person is dismissed and ridiculed. The athletic Serena Williams is “masculine.” Michael Jackson wasn’t the most influential pop star on the planet, but a “freak.” This casting allows the perverse pleasure of further reducing Michael Jackson to the lowest common denominator. While African-Americans have left their mark on science, art, and politics, they are often marginalized, discounted, and/or placed in a box marked “Do Not Open Until Black History Month.” So yes, while the “30 minute comedy on British TV,” let’s take our heads out of the sand and use these 30 minutes to get it right. This sensationalist casting perpetuates the cycle of rewriting Black history. It may be a 30 minute comedy, but we have to start somewhere.
