REMOVING THE JUNK FROM THE COMMUNITY TRUNK ~In A World Filled With Hate - We must Emulate L.O.V.E.~ The purpose of this magazine is to provide the audience with specialized information from a unique community; dedicated to and built upon the Love and Light of Michael Jackson as well as some others who are making a difference. We bring you this material by way of groups and projects inspired by Michael Jackson, other artists and news sources.

This magazine will be dedicated to those projects with undertakings that build up the community; and actually possess the healing and light properties needed to help change a world filled with darkness and a community that has become divided because of different views. We wish to provide the Community Trunk with information about new and delightful support projects. There has been too much “Junk” in the old trunk and it is time we start anew by peeling away the old and rotted garbage and building a new community. Some old things we should keep because they are precious and should be preserved. We hope you will be a part of the solution and not the problem. There should be no room for old junk in a new trunk. The things of no value has been thrown away to make room for the new. We wish to be an avenue to the beautiful things and truth going forward by sharing those things in this magazine when possible. We want to appeal to the rooted fans as well as the innovative.

WRGO Magazine Editorial MIND BLOWING DECISIONS CAUSES HEAD-ON COLLISIONS Highly emotional conclusions leaving the scars from violent impacts = MIND BLOWING DECISIONS. A few years ago I solicited the views of other people on this subject of which all of the opinions were worthy of further thought or concentration. However, two of the opinions hit closer to home: 1. CT: Each and every decision you make changes your life. Take your time and think before you make one!

Mind Blowing

Head on Collision

Mind-blowing - intensely affecting the mind or emotions; highly emotional

2. DP: If we act instantaneously and with emotion, rather than allow time to think things through, Hasty decisions can lead to wasteful then conseoutcomes. - Reed B Markham, quences can American Educator occur as a result of making a decision in haste.

Decision - the act of making up one's mind; a judgment, conclusion, or resolution reached or given; verdict Collision - the conflict of opposed ideas, wishes, attitudes, etc; a violent impact of moving objects; crash As we continue to watch the fast and immense destruction of the world and the people in it I question how such a thing is even imaginable. After all wasn’t this world and the people in it fashioned from a foundation built on God’s LOVE? Of course this will only apply to those who believe in God. As a baby boomer raised in the deep south and a person who fancied soulful music I think of the “70’s” international funk/disco musical band known as “Heatwave”. I'm reminded of the song this group made popular called “Mind Blowing Decisions” and the lyrics penned to the song by Johnnie Wilder, Jr.

One speaks of emotions and the other about decisions being life changing. To me, many fleshly decisions or decisions made based on emotions tend to leave major disasters for ourselves and many times for others where there is no basis for the rationale or the underlying reason.

Although, Mr. Wilder’s lyrics were directed toward a woman I make the association using any situation where a highly emotional mind or one out of control can cause violent impacts from resolutions they have reached because they acted in haste. I must say that I do disagree with one portion of the song in which Mr. Wilder sings “If you think long you think wrong”.

With no rational approach to decide, we are unable to make rational decisions. Decisions made in haste can cause fatal damage caused by emotions that have not been checked.

Making rash decisions can undermine long-term goals, even with the best of intentions. We tend to look at only There is some confusion in the words of this song bethe dazzling side or what we think the bright side is and cause in the first verse he talks about taking his time, ignore the potential pitfalls and we end ou failing. The which in my opinion is the safe thing to do. http:// positive side is always better but we www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/heatwave/ must remember that as negative as mindblowingdecisions.html this may sound there is always someone or something lurking in the dark Why aren’t we taking our time before making decisions spaces waiting on an opportunity to that could destroy other people and even ourselves? destroy what you plan to build up. Decisions made hastily can create long lasting problems. Sometimes there is no turning back. So what STOP AND LOOK BOTH WAYS. does this have to do with anything? It has to do with Ralph Waldo Emerson said this: Once we make a decieverything. The world and the people in it are being sion, the universe conspires to make it happen. destroyed due to lack of knowledge or mind-blowing decisions on the part of overactive or minds on a colli- The hardest thing to learn in life is which bridge to sion course of destruction. cross and which to burn. ~David Russell~ 4

Fans and family paid touching tributes to Michael as the hashtag #6yearswithoutMichaeljackson trended worldwide. Jermaine Jackson joined the fans at Forest Lawn and tweeted a day earlier of the ongoing void in his life left by his brother's passing. He wrote: "Toughest day of year lies ahead tomorrow, for us all. Our tears are drops of love in Michael's name. Our smiles are for the memories. I'll be joining some of you at Forest Lawn to pay my respects, from noon. In our remembrance, family & fans are one." Latoya Jackson tweeted a picture of herself with her brother with the simple message: "We Love You! We Will Always Miss You! #MichaelJackson" Many others shared "Can't believe it has been #6YearsWithoutMichaelJackson my heart still aches. He inspired me first when I was a child to be a musician, I thank him, " said one fan. "Gone but never forgotten, we will always love and remember you." "#6YearsWithoutMichaelJackson he was my biggest inspiration, RIP :(" "Every year, on this day, I can't help myself from crying." "A legend never ever to be forgotten.... His music will always go on RIP". 9

Tony Succar played at the Auditorium Telmex in Guadalajara, Mexico one of his MJ songs, Unity: Latin Tribute to Michael Jackson and thanked the audience saying: “I’m extremely grateful to everyone who made this possible. There are many people to thank ... But I want to thank God for making this dream a reality ... And Michael Jackson to unite us all with his music and inspiration”.

Others paid their tributes in song. Acappella group Pentatonix paid homage

to the singer with a mashup of 25 MJ songs in an "Evolution of Michael Jackson" video that has received more than 3 million views. Billboard called it "the perfect tribute." https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=NJmFrLkc4Y8

The Dangerous girls Association could not missed the occasion to celebrate, commemorate and radiate Michael Jackson's Love and Legacy. They were there with a stand selling artisanal objects to help the Kenyan project. The total proceeds of the sales were given to the “association “Cuore d’Africa” (Heart of Africa) in order to give a chance to Justine, a very young girl from Kenya, to complete her studies and have a better future.

In Barcelona, Spain there was the MJ World Cry 2015 organized by 4LOVEprojects.org. MJWorldCry is carrying on Michael's vision and acts of kindness. Why World Cry? To keep the dreams and ideas that Michael had during his lifetime alive and to continue spreading the love by helping the needy and to follow Michael Jackson's footsteps as a true humanitarian.

On July 5 at the Royal Palaggio VENARIA near Turin, Italy, there was the annual “DINNER IN WHITE”, which was not a special commemoration for Michael but a new fashion dinner that is taking place throughout all Europe. How does it work? People meet in the agreed location, all dressed rigorously in white, and white should be the dishes and all the items that decorate the table for the dinner. This new edition catches the attention of the local MJ fans and they create an opportunity to spend an evening sharing the common passion for Michael Jackson. Ada Tarchetti and Tiziana Schellino, worked with enthusiasm to settle the dinner, have fun and also talk about solidarity and make public understand that no matter where it’s always the right time to stir the hearts of everyone towards others, exactly like Michael Jackson legacy teach us.

BIRTHDAY HEARTS FOR MICHAEL

AND

BOOKS FOR GARY CHILDREN

Hello Friends, Every year for Michael’s birthday I am involved in organizing and participating in a fundraising project for children. It has recently come about that I will be in Gary this year on Michael’s birthday. Yay!! What I have decided to do this year is to bring (or send) copies of my books Smile Effect and Ever After for the children of Gary. What I would like to do is to buy, with your help, as many copies as we can, to give to the 7 other elementary schools in Gary and also the Youth Services Bureau. The cost of the books including shipping would be $7 each. If any of you are interested in buying a book (or books) for the children of Gary, you can send contributions by PayPal to mjeverafter@gmail.com I promise to keep you informed about the funds collected and how many books we are able to buy and distribute. ALSO, if anyone would like to send a birthday heart for Michael, I would be happy to deliver them to Michael’s Gary house on August 29! PM me for my mailing address. I am so excited to finally be going to Gary! Thank you all for your amazing friendship and support. It’s all for Michael, and all for L.O.V.E Brenda

DEMOLISH JACKSON STREET EYESORE Michael Jackson was one of the greatest entertainers ever. He was born in Gary Indiana and lives at 2300 Jackson street. Since his passing visitors from all over the world visit the neighborhood and the street is full of plight. I and others have been working with my own time and money to improve the two block long street that leads to Michael’s childhood home. This is an abandoned home at 2346 Jackson and is one of a few that if with your help demolished can help the neighborhood look better and motivate positive development in the area. We would hope that visitors and residents alike would appreciate a "better experience" when driving down the street the king of Pop and his family once lived. Most importantly the house can be demolished and all debris removed for $8,000. Donate as little as you like or what you deem appropriate for the cause. However, we will reward some donors with an invitation to a dinner gathering where we would network more about this cause. We thank you in advance for any help you may give financial or otherwise. John Allen member of Mallen Equities and resident of 2300 block of Jackson Street. Contact me with any questions or other ways you can help. NOTE this is an all or nothing effort meaning if the total goal of $8,000 is not met no funds are not accepted or used for this project. Recently I decided to make an effort to improve the look of the neighborhood where Michael was born Gary Indiana. As you all may know there are many visitors and no place to use a restroom, have a snack and socialize. The visitors, the fans and Michael deserve more. Therefore I have been proactive and used my own time and money with others to buy some plighted properties. I have repaired and rented some and now seek to tear some of them down. PLEASE visit fundraising page if you can help. That aside we welcome help and suggestions of any sort that will drive toward the goal of improving Michael’s childhood neighborhood and the experience of fans and visitors when they come here. Miguel Rivera - Beat It (Michael Jackson) - Solo guitar Published on Jun 22, 2015 Beat it by Michael Jackson, arranged and performed by Miguel Rivera Follow Miguel on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Miguelrivera... NOTE: I decided to start working on this arrangement because it was a great challenge. When you listen to the chorus of the original song, you can hear the main riff (recorded by Steve Lukather) sounding together with the Michael's vocal melody and, of course, drums, bass and other instruments. My objective was to play all of this parts together: the main riff, the vocal melody and the percussion part. I had to find the proper tuning and make good use of the harmonics but in the end I got it. The tapping part is to remark on the great solo that Eddie Van Halen recorded for this song. Hope you like it! Miguel

Michael “Smooth” Gordon Name: Michael Gordon Occupation: Singer / Song Writer Place of Birth: Orlando, Florida Michael “Smooth” Gordon, was born in Orlando Florida, and was born for stardom. Michael began singing at the age of ten and has been singing ever since, embracing his natural talent. Michael stepped away from the music scene for a while, however, he is back better than ever and ready to conquer his dream. Michael continues to pursue his dreams, wanting to expose his natural talents and smooth vocals to the world. Many people compare Michael’s voice and music to his cousin Michael Jackson, but you will notice a total unique sound going back to the 80’s and 90’s but with a modern feel and beat. Michael’s pursuit of his musical passion has been a driving force in his life, and he will be a force to reckon with in the near future. Michael is back! Scotty and I are super excited to launch this fun little project that we've decided to call "The Couch Sessions". Once a week, in addition to posting our live videos and chronicles, we'll be posting an all acoustic session from our living room of a new cover song, or one of our own. We'd love to take requests if ya'll would like us to play a song of your choice! So, to kick it all off, we recorded the first cover today! ARIZONA 10-YEAR-OLD, FORMERLY HOMELESS, TO MAKE CLOTHES FOR KIDS LESS FORTUNATE

Xavier Elliot, 10, has started a project where he creates clothes for homeless kids. Courtesy Stephanie Elliot Stephanie Elliot said she was completely taken by surprise when her son, Xavier Elliot, told her that he wanted to make clothes for homeless children, after learning what it was like to be homeless himself.

"I think it affected him a lot," Elliot of Pheonix, Arizona told ABC News. "Losing everything, having to start all over again, and seeing all the other kids in shelters — some of them were coming in from domestic violence and all they had were the clothes on their backs. So, he saw the need for it when we were in there." Once outfits are completed, Elliot said she and Xavier plan on donating them to a UMOM Day Center in Phoenix, among many other family shelters.

Now settled in a home, Elliot said she mends clothing for extra income, which is how Xavier got the idea to help out kids who are less fortunate.

we got a ton of fabric donations."

When he returns from summer camp later this week, Elliot said, Xavier will be thrilled to expand

Elliot, a mom of three, said she and her family were left displaced for nine years after her husband, a disabled veteran, was unable to receive the necessary treatment for his post-traumatic stress disorder. Xavier has already attended a design fashion camp and, with his mother's help, will perfect the skills he's learned to start making clothes for young people — including a special "Ninja Turtles" dress for a little girl who, Elliot said, lost her home in a fire. "I sit out in my office sewing and he keeps me company," Elliot said. "I was actually sewing a purse one day and he said he wanted to save his allowance to make clothes for homeless kids. I really never saw it coming."

the cause, which began earlier this month with the "Ninja Turtles" dress.

Soon, Elliot said a friend encouraged her to make a Facebook page to advertise Xavier's new project titled "Clothes for Charity by the Elliott Family."

"He said 'Do you think they’ll have outlets [at summer camp] so I can take my sewing machine?' she said, laughing. "I told him to go and have fun."

HUMANITARIAN PROJECTS

The Elevate Hope Foundation (EHF) is dedicated to providing abused and abandoned children an alternative method of therapy through music and the arts, and funding special services and programs that assist the needs of these children using these fundamental methods. Co-founded in 2001 by entertainer Sheila E. and business manager, Lynn Mabry, EHF supports existing programs of their beneficiaries through monetary funding and inkind donations e.g. musical instruments, art supplies, and work stations complete with computers, keyboards and applicable instructional software.

Sheila E explained the purpose of the initiative during an interview to Access Holliwood while presenting her memoir book 'The Beat of My Own Drum, to public . http://www.accesshollywood.com/sheila-etalks-prince-proposal-and-past-loves-inmemoir_video_2842837

Over 65 percent of their grant dollars will be invested at the local community level. Outside financial support fills a viable niche in light of more conservative funding offered by the federal government. Foster care systems and outreach programs alike share the urgent demand for funding and unite in this strong commitment to serve the needs of

disadvantaged children. Read more about the Arts Enrichment Program that EHF supports and learn about our latest projects. WATCH VIDEO >> Sheila E. and Lynn Mabry introducing the Songwriter's Symposium to students from Vista Del Mar.

Main Beneficiaries of The Elevate Hope Foundation ‘s Established in 1908 and during the past 100 years the organization has evolved from an orphanage to a union of five specialized agencies working together to provide excellent educational and therapeutic services to families, individuals, and the underserved population of children suffering from mental, behavioral and emotional challenges. Between residential, outpatient, community-based and education services, Vista Del Mar provides 45 programs to nearly 6,000 children and families. Services provided include, but are not limited to: • A non-public school for 300 youth with special education needs • Therapeutic residential treatment for severely emotionally disturbed youth, ages 12-18 • Individual and group counseling for children and families • Educational assessment and treatment • Child abuse prevention services • Early childhood care • Therapeutic services for children with autism and other pervasive developmental disorders • Foster family and adoption services The majority of youth that are served by Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services have been referred by: the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Mental Health and the County of Los Angeles Probation Department. Vista Del Mar's therapeutic residential program provides services to youth, ages 1218, many of whom have been removed from their families by court order because of severe abuse and/or neglect causing serious behavioral and emotional problems. It is not uncommon for a resident to have had multiple placements within the foster care system before he or she arrives at Vista Del Mar. These youth have been moved from home to home for a number of reasons including suicidal behavior, aggressive outbursts, sexual acting out and emotional disorders that foster parents are unable to handle. They are in dire need of help when they are referred to Vista Del Mar. Vista Del Mar is committed to giving them the best care possible. The Elevate Hope Foundation exclusively supports Vista Del Mar's Arts Enrichment Program. READ >> Winnie's Story from Vista Del Mar to see the importance of the funding that EHF provides. The Elevate Hope Foundation exclusively supports Vista Del Mar's Arts Enrichment Program AEP serves two populations:

attend the Baron School on campus or participate in after school programs through Vista's Autism Resource Center.

1. Severely emotionally disturbed youth who attend the Vista School and/or live in Vista's residential program. 2. Children with autism spectrum disorder and other pervasive developmental disorders who

Vista Del Mar's "Arts Enrichment Program" reaches these special needs populations through experiential creative classes. The program includes acting, dance, voice, art, drumming, design, music recording, song writing, choir, and photography.

The primary purpose of the Arts Enrichment Program is to give youth the opportunity to develop their creative potential, selfesteem, selfexpression, critical thinking skills, and the ability to cooperate with others – skills vital to a successful life. Vista Del Mar does not receive any public funds for the Arts Enrichment Program. It entirely relies on support from private sources. Last year the Arts Enrichment Program served 296 youth. As part of their support of Vista's Arts Enrichment Program, The Elevate Hope Foundation initiated H.I.P.P.'s (Hope's Initiative Pilot Program)"Songwriters Symposium" and sponsored Vista Del Mar's Music Center. Sheila E's Story At the tender age of five I was sexually abused by a babysitter. Growing up, I struggled with the shame of my childhood experience, but fortunately I had an outlet. Not until I was an adult did I realize how my exposure to music at an early age assisted in the healing process. Many abused children have expressed a heartfelt desire to involve themselves in the education of music and the arts. It was evident that I had to do something with what I had experienced for discarded and forgotten children around our country. I decided that it was imperative for me to share God’s goodness instead of life’s tribulations. Although we go through many, it is more important to share the ups and reveal the downs for a healthy and positive change. I want to impart strength, endurance, hope, kindness and love to those who feel it is impossible to attain. Sharing my story and offering my help in this process are true expressions of God’s love in my life. In my endeavor, I discovered that many have expressed an urgent desire to involve themselves in the education of music as an outlet. I know, as their families, even society has discarded them, the exposure and education of music and the arts will be a life changing and saving experience. To give to the needs and desires of these children will help enable them to cope with their emotional, even physical challenges. As a result, my manager and business partner, Lynn Mabry and I launched The Elevate Hope Foundation. She too was sexually abused as a child by a family friend. She shares my desire to assist children, even adults in the healing process. Our foundation is committed to 104

help the needs of those who desire to keep searching for answers, find an alternative to express their pain and work towards enjoying a new life. If you are one of those who are willing to help, please be one of our “angels” and give. If you are one of those who needs help, begin to talk about it. Pain is only temporary. Your life is yours to live and you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. We created an avenue on our web site for you to tell your story. A place for you to read about others like us. To be able to give someone hope by sharing a kind word. Please check out our inspirations. With your help, we will soon build a Compassion Care Center Of The Arts in the metropolitan Los Angeles Area for children to have a safe place to be educated in the arts, a place to get away and enjoy an afternoon of peace and tranquility, a place where children and

parents alike can receive counseling to help them get through their trying times, even the opportunity to learn the very basics in day to day living. This is our desire.

Be imitators of goodness as dearly loved children and live a fulfilled life of love. Thank you for your support and love.

Compassion Care Center of the Arts The Elevate Hope Foundation (EHF) will be introducing their plans to build the Compassion Care Center of the Arts (CCCA), centrally located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. CCCA will offer an innovative method of treatment by incorporating the arts as a unique approach to improve, enhance and encourage their chances of survival emotionally and socially while providing basic training through traditional methods. Objective: To provide these intervention services including creative arts and clinical therapy to 100 children and their non-offending parents or caregivers per day.

An estimated 794,000 children across the country were victims of abuse or neglect in 2007, according to national data released in 2009 by the Children's Bureau of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Child protective service agencies received an estimated 3.2 million

referrals,

involving

the

alleged

maltreatment of approximately 5.8 million children. The statistics indicate about 10.6 out of every 1,000 children were victims of abuse or neglect. About 1,760 children died of abuse or neglect. More than three-quarters (75.7 percent) of children who died were younger than 4 years old; 12.9 percent were 4 to 7 years old; 4.7 percent were 8 to 11 years old; and 6.5 percent were 12 to 17 years old. Children in the age group of birth to 1 year had the highest rate of victimization at 21.9 per 1,000 children. More than one half of the victims were 7 years old or younger. Girls were slightly more likely to be victims than boys. EHF desires to offer essential funding needed to support community centers, programs, and services that directly assist neglected, sexually and physically abused, and abandoned children throughout, while creating the Compassion Care Center Of The Arts (CCCA) that will assist Wards Of The State through music and the arts. SPIRITUAL DEVOTIONS

SPIRITUAL LIFE - DAILY DEVOTION

One of a Kind By Gene Markland

114

I saw the passing of a famous news reporter become an event covered by all the major news outlets. Her entire professional career was chronicled and displayed for all to see. Her coverage of national and international news became legendary. Especially remarkable was her assignments to cover no less than ten United States Presidents. As her fellow journalists gave her accolades, one phrase echoed repeatedly. "She was one of a kind." So many unique individuals have come and gone in our lifetime: sports figures, actors, politicians and explorers, some of which went to the moon and back. They, the most unique and famous, were all called one of a kind. Through Bible history we also learn the stories of other very unique individuals. We discover people such as King David. He was a mighty warrior for God who slew Goliath, the giant enemy of God's people. God used David to forge a nation, the people of Israel. David was a man of great spiritual depth and understanding, yet a man of fiery human passion and fallibility. However, he was a man after God's own heart. He was one of a kind. Remember the story in the Bible of the woman who brought expensive perfume, her personal fortune, and anointed Jesus by pouring it out over His head? After a disciple chastened her for wasting it all, saying it could have been sold to help the poor, Jesus said that wherever the gospel is preached around the world, her deed would be talked about in her memory. She was one of a kind. In modern times we have men such as Billy Graham, another one of a kind who brought the gospel of Christ to millions around the world.

Then of course there's Lord Jesus who gave up the splendor of heaven and His life there with Father God to come to earth and become one of us, the son of man. He did this to become the legal sacrifice for our sin. He became our kinsman redeemer. He took our place on the cross and became sin for us thereby enabling us to become the righteousness of God in Christ (II Corinthians 5:21 NIV). Yes Jesus is one of a kind! Then there's you dear Reader. Yes you! God's word says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, (Psalm 139:14 NIV) formed by Him in your Mother's womb (Job 31:15NIV). God doesn't love you because of what you do. He loves you because of who you are‌His child. Your heavenly Father loves you so much in fact that He gave His only begotten Son that you would be saved and have life everlasting (John 3:16 NIV). He did this because He wants you for Himself. Imagine that! He wants you! He loves you so much that He is absorbed with every detail of your life. Even the number of hairs on your head draws His attention (Luke 12:7 NLT). Why, you may ask, does God love you so much? Why? Because you are His child, and are truly one of a kind!

Broken.... Broken....... When your world is a stage, the best by far, with only an entrance to heavens gate of the greatest star..... walk in this mans shoes, look with his eyes, love with his heart, give with his hands. know of this angel that walked this earth, of hisself value, his worth reach within the soul of every being, look beyond your own hopes and dreams you'll see the beauty one life could consume like that of a broken heart string never to be amended when you fight so hard not to believe that this is the end... rest assured as the clouds still gather after a storm, there is still a rainbow of such beauty and form.. a music note out of tune, a beated heart that's broken

and worn, a rose petal torn....A soul that still mourns..... ŠTammyJones

The breath of being the call of the night sweeps and croons over the mirroring tide A shower of silver over seas of dancing light imagined wings stir in dreams of flight A sky abloom with evening stars roaming winds over the harbor bar dreams of souls who quest for light graceful claims on lover’s sight

A thousand rivers of untamed grace ceaseless prayers in webs of lace gilded tears like morning dew wrapped in layers of solitude

Restless skies in wistful sleep whispered hymns of unity unfolded Love in gathered hearts courage blooms and fear departs

“SHOUT IT OUT” CORRINE MONTORFANI

Michael, the Philanthropist 127

Michael, the Philanthropist

What better way to celebrate Michael if not in the way he would want to? From “We are the world” to the “Heal the World Foundation”, Michael Jackson's life was full of donations and humanitarian efforts.

Fame but thanks to his social commitment, he also entered in a Hall Of Fame very much less known in the media: the Guinness Book Of World Records as “the Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star”. That is, he IS the pop star who supported the highest number of charities worldwide. During his career, Michael Jackson supported 39 non-profit organizations through direct donations and through sponsorship of projects.

The beginnings as a boy with the Jackson Five and then the worldwide explosion with "Thriller." A success wornout in dance steps and the anguish of a stolen life. A controversial life of light and shadow. Successes and controversy; The proceeds of the assets and of the slanderous accusations and generosity properties that sometimes Michael would outbursts. An excessive wealth, a lot of auction were often donated to charities. wastes, but above ALL philanthropy. He still receives posthumous awards for it. Associations recognized his lifetime With the Grammies and the gold records humanitarian work. Michael entered the Rock and Roll Hall of 128

We can really state that the world lost a great humanist because Michael Jackson helped often and so much, but he did not speak about it and finally, also his social and political commitment sometime hidden; but many times censured by bigotry. Finally it’s surfacing, thanks to reactions before racism, cruelty and hate. Just to mention one of the latest: his songs chosen as soundtrack to protest against racism and terrorism in Baltimore, Paris and after in Tunisia. It’s easy to put together banality and sympathetic noises in Michael Jackson’s name, but it's a chore I willingly leave to the various magazines, newspapers, fanzines and fan groups.

Finally, also those who have never had a high ranking on pop music and definitely it’s not exactly their "cup of tea", begin to understand that it's worth spending a couple of lines on a guy like Michael Jackson: if only to figure out who, or rather, "what" was Michael Jackson for many years compared to whole international scenario. So it must be acknowledged that in cases like this, avoid the naive dichotomies that want private and public life now inversely proportional (shadows in one, lights in the other), now inextricably linked (the eternal Peter Pan with a mutilated childhood...) it is not really easy. In the face of a subject such is Michael, even the use of certain proverbial and widely used expressions ("he changed music panorama forever", "eclectic artist " etc) has an awkward sound.

Maybe because it was just Michael himself "legendary": Everything that was around his figure was intended to build a symbol, almost a prototype of the universal concept of a pop star. Even for this, try to understand what really Michael Jackson represented for his and our times, means above all, investigate what could have meant to be an icon inside the colossal star system of the eighties. That’s what, first of all, a fan or any Michael admirer should do. 129

So, it was really sad to read the other day this headline:

“Disputed German Michael Jackson memorial may have to beat it”

We have to step back and admit that MJ fans have always been divided way before his death. This is sad because he always spoke of ‘peace, love & unity’ and some of these fans never followed the message he tried so hard to spread. The history of the Memorial Munich started on June 25th 2009 with one single poster. Fans were mourning together, remembering MJ under a statue of Renaissance composer Orlando di Lasso (then later became MJ shrine), just opposite the entrance of the Bayerischer Hof hotel, a place where Michael was a frequent guest. Although the memorial never received formal approval by the Munich or Bavarian state authorities, over the years it has become a kind of quirky landmark and a must-see stop for foreign tourists but we have been informed that: “Rival factions enamored with the King of Pop beyond the grave are locked in a bitter battle over who tends best to the American singer's memory, in a spat that has at times even turned violent.” This was written on tabloids…the very same tabloids Michael despised, the very same

tabloids that never mentioned Michael’s philanthropy. 130

And all because the fans mood has grown increasingly fraught, even hysterical? "We tolerated this memorial until now but have heard from the police about disputes among fans and there have even been criminal complaints," a spokesman for Bavaria's culture ministry, Henning Giessen, told AFP.

towards MJ but each other!

That's what Michael would have wanted, not this! I’m not going to mention the names of the person involved even if all the community is

Frankly speaking I hope they will remove everything at this point! If Michael could see these childish fights between the fans he would be so sad. These are no real Michael Jackson Fans. Not in their heart and I feel so sorry for Michael and this stupid memorial. It's NO honour for him! There's no LOVE. There's war. I hope ALL MJ fans take note and behave themselves when congregating together. YOU MJ fans HAVE to behave yourselves! Love the MAN with HONOR, RESPECT AND DIGNITY and not only

aware, especially because the names have been printed in the tabloids reports. "They remove our decorations, take down our posters and crush the flowers we plant." "The organization MJ's Legacy thinks that it has exclusive permission from the city to decorate and maintain the memorial," and the president of this “legacy” is doing everything she can to get us out of here but a lot of fans (from MJ Memorial Munich) don't agree and want to keep coming." What’s wrong with those people? Physical violence over something that supposedly the goal of both sides in honor and homage to Michael? That crazy behavior is not honoring him at all. I am disgusted with these fools making people think all MJ fans are raving lunatics. So many EGOS.

131

This is why a lot of people don't take the MJfans serious, just because of this nonsense. If the fans can't get along together in honoring MJ in public then the event should be closed down. Just like when any other riot happen. What will people think (now that all the issues surfaced over the media) about such a miserable situation? That they're all immature 20 year olds or something’s? But it’s not like that!!! These are middle-aged women! It is miserable that most of the drama inside the community is coming from older women and I might even understand the reason: it is just about guilt! They came on board when Michael died and pretended they have been lifetime fans. For some obscure reasons they want to show to the others they know so much about him instead of admitting that they never followed him when he was alive or had stopped following him. I might have a simple suggestion…women get a job, find a real boyfriend, go out for dinner, see a movie and have sex! See here the video (sorry it’s in German). http://www.muenchen.tv/mediathek/video/ michael-jackson-denkmal-wird-zum-streitpunk/ From what the man in the video says it almost seems like he does not want the memorial there because it's associated more with the group and he says he would rather have some plaque somewhere that is "not possessed by someone" (I guess by the other group). It really seems childish and petty. It's all about Egocentric and arrogance.

The newspaper “Berlin's daily Tagesspiegel” called it a "guerrilla war" fuelled by "a lot of Prosecco"….I agrees at 110% with them! I would like to remember to those MJ fans out there that " You ain't bad!! 132

You ain't nothing”!

And this is NOT the way to spread Michael's message." In short, you are dismissed! Michael Jackson does not need you. Keep listening to the music and learn history of contemporary music but …away from his legacy! Really!! Michael with no such big fuss (and many personal worries) did as follows: In 1992 he was the promoter of the foundation Heal the World Foundation now closed. The objectives of the foundation, which over the years of its activity has raised over $ 100 million, ranging from supply of medicines to needy children, the fight against malnutrition, support for homeless and commitment against child abuse. The Dangerous World Tour proceeds (which began in June 1992 and ended in November 1993, where Jackson performed in front of 3 million and a half

people during 67 concerts) went all to the Heal the World Foundation.

In 1993, during the Super Bowl, Michael performed “Heal the World” accompanied by a chorus of 750 people from around the world. Jackson not only donated the proceeds of his appearance to his foundation, but also sent a message of peace, harmony between races and hope for children. During the crisis in the Balkans, Jackson, always through the Heal The World Foundation, sent to Sarajevo 46 tons of medicines and financed training on the abuse of alcohol and drugs. For his efforts against HIV-AIDS, apartheid, the low rate of vaccination of children and other humanitarian causes in Africa.

133

In April 2004 Jackson received the Humanitarian Award from The African

Ambassadors' Spouses Association.

Not to count the mythical “We are the World, the song he wrote with Lionel Richie in 1985 which sold 20 million copies and proceeds were invested in humanitarian causes in Africa.

Every year I do a Neverland rock project and this year I've decided to put a small amount of rocks in a small pouch and tie a tag to it with a group's name as well as fellow fans we've lost this past year. Rocks were photographed at the main gate before being placed behind a fence at Neverland.

TIME HAS NO CONSCIENCE but we do...It has been 6 years last month on June 25th, 2015 that you left us and we haven’t been the same since. The last breath you took was ours too...When Jermaine announced your death, the whole world died with you Michael... You went through so much on this earth and now you are at peace and our hearts and souls rejoice in that but not the absence of your presence. You will always be more than just a lingering within, what you left in us is grounded in our hearts and the very depths of our souls. You hypnotized us with your voice, stunned us with your moves and electrified us with that smile of yours. We know and have memorized your messages in the songs you gave us. We grieve your death, celebrate your birth and visit you often. We will always love and cherish you forever and a day..... R.I.P....MIKE.... Signed by WHOLE WORLD.....

Psalm 34:18 (ESV)…….The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Bobbi Kristina Brown

Millions prayed that you would make a full recovery and things would be well. Certainly family members and friends are at a loss for words at this time, but for those who know the Lord they will be comforted. This is a great loss to the Brown’s and the Houston’s. WE pray that the family will depend on God to comfort them and in turn they will comfort one another. 142

SoulTrain.com Exclusive: Tevin Campbell – Getting ‘Back to the World’ Love this quote by Tevin Campbell. An excerpt taken from the interview above in August of 2012. “I always say that I have to live my life for me. Everyone has to go home at night and live behind closed doors. No matter what you think you know about a celebrity and what they are doing, you truly don’t know. Everybody lives behind closed doors. The only way that I can live and share my life is through my music. I tell my story through my music. Back then, it wasn’t like that since I was singing songs that were written for me, too mature for me.

But I’m 35 years old now, so people will hear my story, because I’m writing a lot on this album. As far as what I do in my personal life, if you get to know me then you’ll know. But I have friends and family that love me for who and what I am. I don’t need other people to love me for who I am, I need them to love me for my music and if they can’t do that then you’re not a fan. I divulge a lot in my album. I know the questions that people ask, so really the only way you’ll get to know me is through my music.” ~Tevin Campbell~ What a mouthful and some of us get it Tevin Campbell. The "Music" is the artists' way of communicating with the fans but many times we go WAY over that boundary line.

TWO FRIARS AND A FOOL How White Privilege Misled Me About Michael Jackson’s HIStory 144

Catching Fire: Michael Jackson Fan Tributes in the Week of the 25th June We all deal with the week of the 25th June in our own way. In the past, the sheer injustice of Michael’s death has inspired such absolute rage in me that it has helped mask my despair. This year was different. I was overcome with an all-encompassing sorrow and sat depressed in the dark for days, unable to engage with the physical world, never mind the saturated sadness of social media as our community poured out heartbreaking, bereft tributes. A couple of days ago, the fog began to lift and I managed to distil the devastation of the previous days into a poem for Michael (see below).

TWO FRIARS AND A FOOL How White Privilege Misled Me About Michael Jackson’s HIStory So when the media sold the narrative that Michael Jackson was falling apart, even if there was truth there, there was also a sinister purpose. The purpose was to dis-

tract from his legitimate anger, his serious social commentary, by homing in on his personal failings. The cult of celebrity is all about serving as a distraction from things that matter. When Michael Jackson tried to talk about things that mattered we responded by veering even harder in the other direction. We drilled in on his cosmetic surgery, his Neverland Ranch, his pop-star lifestyle – anything to distract ourselves from a black man expressing discontent with the state of the world. I’m sorry that I was fooled, and missed the opportunity to be sensitized to the subject of race much earlier in my life by an artist I loved so much I literally woke up singing his music every day for years. Tonight I watched Spike Lee’s video for “They Don’t Really Care About Us” over and over while my family stared in confusion over where the Christmas music had gone. I stared equally befuddled as I watched the choreography and lyrics evoke everything from mass incarceration, to police brutality, to income inequality. How had I missed this? White privilege, that’s how. READY ARTICLE HERE

We are petitioning the U.S. Congress to author a bill that would make it unlawful to defame a person who is deceased. Slander and libel are not protected under the First Amendment while a person is living. The same protection should be extended to a person after they are deceased. The loved ones of someone who has passed on should not have to live with the continued defamatory stories and false accusations that can so easily be paraded as fact.

Petition

By means of the Mummy, mankind, it is said, Attests to the gods its respect for the dead. We plunder his tomb, be he sinner or saint, Distil him for physic and grind him for paint, Exhibit for money his poor, shrunken frame, And with levity flock to the scene of the shame. O, tell me, ye gods, for the use of my rhyme: For respecting the dead what's the limit of time? ~Scopas Brune~ 147

On 13 June 2005 Michael Jackson was acquitted of 10 felony charges and 4 misdemeanors. Those disgruntled in the media, labelled the acquittal celebrity justice. If you want to find out the truth, start reading this book. This is a unique book looking at the trial testimony. It provides an indepth look at the trial from the first day. It offers the reader an insight into the case that was not provided by the media coverage in 2005. This mini series shines a light on the defence case, and the trial testimony.

28 February 2005 was the first trial day.
