After this
I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever.
Amen.
Revelation 7:9-12 (KJV),
And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Revelation 7:13-17 (KJV) 14
Aaron Mashack
— The Life Reflection of — Aaron Mashack affectionately called “Acie” by his classmates, was born to Willie and Girlena Mashack on Thursday, January 6, 1944 in Hartsville, SC. He was the 12th child out of 14 children and he graduated from Butler High School in 1962. Aaron migrated to New York City and married the love of his life, Marian Ross, on November 21, 1964. To this union, three children were born – Baron, Rachel and Sheree (deceased). Aaron reared his family in Bronx, NY and there they lived a beautiful life. He was a hardworking man. His day jobs included faithful years at Metro Mosaics (Warehouse Supervisor), New York City Highway Dept. (Foreman), and Mashack Flooring Supply (Project Superintendent). His reputation was built however, as a carpet and tile mechanic, doing hundreds of jobs over the years in New York and beyond. He and his family attended Congregational Church of God in Harlem New York for 35 years under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William Aaron and Rev. Dr. Levorn Aaron. Anyone who knew Aaron knew that he was a kind and generous man. Though he had his own physical challenges, he made it a point in life to make everyone around him felt special. He often traveled near and far to visit loved ones who were ill or just to stop by and say hello. He was extremely friendly and knew no strangers. Aaron was a family man. He would often speak of how proud he was of each of his children and had the pleasure of seeing all of them work in ministry. Aaron and Marian had a special kind of love that stood the test of time, in sickness and in health and for richer or poorer. He served his wife through thirty-eight years of her illness and their last moment together literally consisted of him caring for her personal needs. He taught his son how to be a man, and his daughters how to love and respect themselves. He was also known in his community among the youth as “Mr. Mashack”, the dad who cared. Many neighborhood kids looked up to him and admired the way he cared for his family. He was the only father many of them had seen who was active in the lives of his family. Additionally, he had a personal hand in caring for all seven of his grandchildren whether changing diapers, babysitting, taking them on outings or disciplining them. Men’s ministry was his true passion. He loved to encourage the men of God to stand firm in the faith. He served as the local Men’s President at the Congregational Church of God for many years. He was also the Northeast Regional Director of the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut men of the Church of God for eleven years. He was honored with a banquet on his behalf as a token of appreciation for his years of dedicated service. Aaron was sought after as a mentor even after he retired. Shortly after moving to Georgia in 1997, he came out of retirement to lead the Men’s Ministry of the Martin Street Church of God and the Georgia State Men’s Organization. He had a true anointing from God, and a knack for rallying the troops and encouraging men to take their rightful place as leaders. He hosted many activities, trips and events and knew how to spur men on to good works. Only eternity will tell how many hundreds of lives he has powerfully impacted and touched. Aaron was also named the Man of the Year in 2003 by the National Association of the Church of God. He wore many hats and that was to his credit, but what mattered the most was that he loved the Lord and lived for Him. Love was his motivation and in everything he did, you could feel that. His parents instilled this in him and he taught his children how to love one another and stick together. We will miss his smile, his voice, his humor and his love. One thing that gives us peace is the fact that he was ready and waiting to meet the Lord. During the last few months of his life, he was often heard saying, “When the Lord is ready for me, I’ll be ready for him”. His faith has finally become sight and although our hearts feel much pain, we also feel joy because we know that he is in the arms of Jesus. Aaron Mashack leaves to cherish his memory a son Baron Mashack (Denise); a daughter Rachel Nelson (Mark); seven grandchildren, Brandon, Deja, Mark II, Tehela, Mitchell, Levi and Myla. He also leaves one sister, Mary Ann Philmon and two brothers, Charles Mayshack and Malachi Mashack (Marie); two sisters-in-law Constance Mitchell and Stafhanie Ross, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, friends and classmates. Thank you Jesus for the life and legacy of Aaron Mashack.
