Obituary

“Remembering Albert” Albert George Scott, who was affectionately known as “Scotty or Butcher”, was born March 24, 1938 in Duncans Trelawny Parish, Jamaica WI. Albert was the last of three children born to his Mother Iona Underhill Scott and Father Emmanuel Scott. As a child Albert loved the outdoors which helped to develop his love of gardening. He could often be found swimming and would later reminisce about the many days he spent crabbing with his cousins and friends. It was also in his teenage years that he found his passion that would become his lifelong career as an electrician. Albert worked as Licensed Electrician for almost 60 years, and he was really proud of many projects that he worked on as a member of the Electricians Trade Union Local 3. Although Albert was an electrician by trade, he was the jack of all trades as he routinely planned and worked on many renovations’ projects in his homes and the homes of his family and friends. After a long career, Albert retired in September 2001, but he continued to be the “go to” repair man for friends, family, and neighbors. Retirement allowed Albert and his wife, Dorethea to spend much more time at their home in North Carolina. He spent many leisure days in the country tending to his garden and relaxing with his grandfatherin-law Finley Lloyd and father-in-law Henry Lloyd. His time in North Carolina also allowed him to spend time with is grandchildren from Virginia, New York, and New Jersey. At home in New Jersey, he could be found whistling loudly as he gardened, listened to oldies but goodies, watched baseball and boxing, and cared for his beloved dog Lilo, who passed on June 25, 2020.

Obituary

“Remembering Albert” In 2016, Albert was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia but that did not stop him from continuing to live and love life. He was very independent and love to do stuff on his own without any assistance. And although he was no longer practicing his trade, he marveled at advising his son-in-law and friends about how to run construction projects. He did not let his illness stop him from adding value to the life of his loved ones. He fought the good fight but Jehovah God knows your beginning and your end. Albert leaves behind to cherish his memories: his loving and dedicated wife, Dorethea; sons, Radcliffe, Albert Jr, and Rohan; daughters, Andrea and Cassandra (son in law Edward); his sister Cassie, father-in-law Henry Lloyd, sister-in-law Alberta Roberts and host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He is preceded in death by his daughter Jacqueline Scott, his sister Joyce Grant and his mother-in-law Naomi Lloyd. Albert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. The loss is immeasurable but so is the love left behind. You will be sorely missed.

A light from our family is gone  A voice we love is stilled A place is vacant in the home  Which never can be filled

Tribute To My Husband WHEN GOD WAS MAKING HUSBANDS When God was making husbands as far as I can see, He made a special soulmate especially for me. He made a perfect gentleman, compassionate and kind, with more love and affection than you could ever wish to find. He gave my darling husband a heart of solid gold, He gave me wonderful memories only my heart can hold. He was someone I could talk to that no one can replace, He was someone I could laugh with till tears ran down my face. Next time we meet it will be at heavens door, when I see you standing there, I won’t cry anymore. I’ll put my arms around you and kiss your smiling face. Then the pieces of my broken heart will fall back into place. Miss You So Much! ~Dorethea Lloyd Scott ~

I’m Free Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I’ve found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My Life’s been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch, Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
