Curtis Hayward Mosley Curtis Hayward Mosley was born on August 9, 1954, in Hackensack, NJ to James and Arlyne Mosley. He departed this life to be with our Heavenly Father at the age of 69 on September 6, 2023. Curtis attended and graduated from Hackensack High School in June of 1972. Upon graduation, he held many occupations throughout his lifetime to include working for Ford Motor Company, being a commercial and over the road truck driver, and touring with James Taylor and Kool and the Gang.
Curtis was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church when he was a teenager. Although you may not have seen him sitting in church wearing a suit and tie, he had his own personal and spiritual relationship with the Lord.
Being a kind and dependable father was of utmost importance to Curtis. He loved each of his children unconditionally and without cease. Curtis had a genuine love for his family, friends, and community. He freely gave his time to others without expectation. You could always count on him for advice, a good laugh, or tough love. Curtis was unapologetically himself. He never changed who he was as a person but understood how to compromise. Curtis never sat still for too long. He loved to stay busy with different projects, side jobs, and a few hobbies and you could always find him working in his garage. It was what kept him feeling and looking young.
Curtis is survived by his sister Cassandra (Mosley) Murphy and brother Terrance Mosley; His three children Curtiss G. Mosley (wife Erika), Ayanna (Mosley) Silverton, and Samantha Coleman; Eight grandchildren Makail Mosley, T’Carlos Mosley, Marlon Gonzalez, Shakai Mosley, Curtiss G. Mosley Jr, Ayanna Mosley, Cataleya Silverton, and Hyacinth Silverton; Aunt Pearl Gregory, Uncle William Jones (wife Carol), and a host of cousins, family, and friends who loved and cherished him deeply.
Curtis is preceded in death by his mother Arlyne Mosley and father James Mosley.
