PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

MMA | ANNUAL REPORT 2022-23 14

A Word from the President

Dear Members,

My greetings to all of you!

I am honoured to have served as the 55th President of Madras Management Association (MMA) for 2022-23. I am grateful for the opportunity given to me by the MMA members. On behalf of the Managing Committee, I present to you the 67th Annual Report and Audited Statement of Accounts for the year ending March 31 2023.

India is now perceived to be the “Gateway for Tomorrow’s world”. We are in a decisive decade where we need to continue to build:

Physical Infrastructure at Hyperscale along with NextGen Digital Infrastructure, opening up huge job opportunities Sustainable India – 100% ESG focus can expedite progress with every stakeholder onboard. India’s unicorns and decacorns which can spur Innovative India

With developed countries facing challenges of recessions and impact of climate change, it is seeing the return of traditional risks - Inflation, Trade Wars, Social Unrest, Geo-political conflicts along with newer risks associated with widespread cybersecurity issues, likely increasing digital inequality with GenAI as well as polycrisis (as termed by WEF – where disparate crisis interact creating larger impact to the world.)

However, we can see a future full of opportunities be it in Critical Technologies related to 5G, AI, Quantum, Blockchain, Genomics and rare minerals, which can also enable equity and sustainability opportunities.

International Monetary Fund (IMF) and global rating agencies predict India’s average growth to exceed 6% over the next five years. Tamil Nadu’s pursuit of a billion-dollar GDP bodes well for industrial growth.

MMA | ANNUAL REPORT 2022-23 15

Measuring MMA’s success, it has ticked all the right boxes during the year as evidenced by:
