This is a lovely true story. Recently when one of our Pride Members was fishing at the Big Dam she was befriended by a little boy of about 5 years, while his Dad was on his mobile. Lots of conversation took place and then he noticed the plastic bag with the prawns nearby. He said in a very commanding voice “You cannot leave any rubbish around here; (pointing to the bag) you Must put it in the Bin.” Thank you parents and Kindy. When a little boy has the message to “Think Clean – Be Tidy” surely the lesson should be carried out by everyone. Mount Morgan seems to be very fortunate with the Irish men who have the town at heart. Firstly, we had Alex Teeney who was a gem, and now we have Jason, the caretaker of the swimming Pool. On meeting Jason you are pleasantly surprised at his enthusiasm for the town and his aim to get all children swimming and exercising for their own enjoyment and health. He is working towards getting the heated pool operational again. Jason has spoken to many residents who would like the pool available for health reasons or just for exercise, aerobics and relaxation. It would be wonderful to get our heated pool operational again as we do need it. With ANZAC Day at our doorstep we have placed a photo on the bottom of the page of the Honour Board situated in the foyer of the General Office of Mount Morgan Limited (pictured). It records the names of the dedicated men of the First World War that enlisted from Mount Morgan. The number of names exceeds 600 so that is a wonderful representation from a small town. There is also an Honour Board in the Masonic Hall paying tribute to many Masons who also enlisted in world war one. We hope you can attend some of the ANZAC Services. The Golden Mount Festival is almost upon us. It has approached very fast when we realize the month of May is almost here. Do plan to enjoy the Festival events and become involved where you can and look forward to meeting many old friends who may return for the celebrations. Hopefully we will all enjoy the celebrations. However we do have the responsibility to “Think Clean – Be Tidy” as our town will be on show. Don’t let the team down. As the little boy said, “All rubbish must go into the bins.”

There was continuous rain in the lead up to their special event, but it couldn’t have been more perfect weather for the Mount Morgan MultiPurpose Health Service last Tuesday. The day marked the day for the local service’s official flag raising ceremony and plaque unveiling. Health Service Chief Executive Len Richards explained the importance of the raising of the Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags in unity, signifying the relationship of all communities. Phillip Toby delivered the welcome to country on behalf of the Gangulu people, the traditional owners of the land at Mount Morgan. He also performed a cleansing smoking ceremony. A solo performance on the didgerido was also part of the event, by Robert Muir.

One of those was Community Advisory Network Chairman Bob MacIntyre, who had the honour of raising the Australian flag, and later cutting the celebratory cake along with hospital cook Bonny Rienecker (pictured below). Donna Anderson (pictured top left) raised the Aboriginal flag and Marcia Pensio (top right) raised the Torres Strait Island flag.

Mr Richards said the flag raising was in line with the Council of Aboriginal Reconciliation’s vision statement: “A united Australia which respects this land of ours; values the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage; and provides justice and equity for all.” “We in Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service make the commitment to address the Closing the Gap initiatives in order to realise the necessary health gains by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in our communities and relying on our health services,” he said. “We are performing this flag-raising ceremony in recognition of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families who use and rely on our health services, the community organisations which assist us and very importantly, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff members who contribute so much through our services in taking those positive steps to Closing the Gap.” Following the flag raising ceremony Central Queensland Hospital and Health Board Chair Charles Ware, Member for Mirani Ted Malone and Mr Richards unveiled a plaque to officially open Mount Morgan Multi-Purpose Health Service. Mr Ware said the occasion was a good time to celebrate the success of the new facility and to pay tribute to those who had worked hard to achieve such a positive result for the community.

There was a rumbling through the hills of Mount Morgan over the weekend, as a mass of motorcycle enthusiasts made their descent on the historic township in anticipation of the 2014 Harley and Indian Motorcycle Rally. The weekend-long event officially kicked off in Mount Morgan last Saturday morning, and welcomed 26 participating riders and their magnificent machines. Rolling in on some very impressive bikes of yesteryear, the gathering also attracted hundreds of motorcycle fans, who each had the opportunity to see the bikes up close and personal through a display in Morgan Street on the Saturday. The exhibition saw a tremendous response throughout the morning - something which rally coordinator and local resident, Peter Jongedyk was thrilled by. “We were just blown away by the number of people that came along to the display,” he said. “It was a continuous crowd the entire time and everyone really seemed to be enjoying the opportunity to see the bikes and chat about each on display.” The display included a range of vintage Harley and Indian motorcycles, with rare and restored models ranging from 1915 to 1961. But the bikes didn’t just sit idle. Along with the display, Saturday also included a visit to the Heritage Listed Gold Mine for the rally participants, as well as a roundtrip to Goovigen and some fun at the Dee Bowls Club before returning to the rally’s base for the weekend - the Mount Morgan Motel and Van Park. Sunday then saw the group take a ride to Rockhampton and the Caves before wrapping up the rally with a dinner and ceremony at the Dee Bowls Club. With the event now all wrapped up, Peter said he is thrilled with how it all came together. “It was great all round,” Peter said. “It was a feel good rally, was incident free and there was just fantastic atmosphere - from the general public as well as the rally attendees.”

Peter said the rally’s participants came from far and wide for the event, with many planning to return. “We had a great turn out, with riders from Mount Morgan, the region and even further. The furthest one of riders travelled was all the way from Newcastle, and that was on a 1947 Indian,” Peter said. “The participants were astounded with the knowledge they learned about the local area, especially those who headed to the Mine Site.”

7

Bike Rally continued: “Everyone seemed to really enjoy their time here,” Peter said. “A lot of people have said they will be coming back to Mount Morgan and that they plan on telling many people about the area, which is great.” Along with an overall experience, a few of the riders will also be making their way back home with a special keepsake, following a presentation of trophies on the final evening. “Always as part of the rallies, there are trophies presented for a bit of fun,” Peter said. “This year we were able to present some Mount Morgan Stacks as trophies – made by Ken Reid.” The categories included: •“Best Indian” – which was won by Ipswich, Mick Crocker and his 1936 Indian •“Best Harley” – won by Rockhampton resident, Gary Lamb and his 1942 Harley Davidson •“Oldest Bike and Rider Combination” - won by local resident, Ken Reid • “Hard Luck” Trophy – won by Brisbane resident, Kim Fransden on a 1942 WLA Harley •Most Original” which was won by Mackay resident, Andrew Gould and his 1915 Indian Headstrom The 1915 Headstrom (pictured below) was also crowned the winner of the “People’s Choice” as part of the weekend’s rally. Local resident, Bette Broom was drawn the lucky winner from the numerous voters and will soon be able to enjoy a trip around the local area in a 1944 Indian Motorcycle Sidecar as part of her prize. “Overall, I’d just really like to thank all who came along and supported the event,” Peter said wrapping up.

Congratulations to local residents, Tony Hoffman and Nicole Foster on their recent engagement. The pair were joined by family and friends for a celebration, held at the Community Services Hall on March 29. Message from the Bride and Groom to be: We’d really like to thank Rose and Frank Molloy for all of their support and effort on the evening. A special thanks also to Whiskey Remorse who provided the fantastic live entertainment.

“A special thanks also goes to the Mount Morgan Primary School for providing us with a fantastic venue.”

News from The Dee River Oldies Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to vacate the premises at The Central Street Office, and are now using The Anglican Church Hall to store our gear and conduct our meetings which are still held every third Tuesday of the month at 2pm.

Pictured top left: local residents and motorcycle enthusiasts Ken Reid, Peter Jongedyk (event coordinator) and Paul Draper with their vintage Indian motorcycles. Pictured centre left: attendees taking a look at the display at the Mount Morgan State Primary School on Saturday morning.

Mount Morgan’s contribution to victory in WWI By Gerald Cunningham, New Zealand The people of Mount Morgan, like most Australians, take Anzac Day very seriously and like to pay their respects on that day to those countrymen and women who lost their lives in the two world wars of the 20th century. Many locals living in modern day Mount Morgan might not be aware of the huge part played directly by the early citizens of their town in helping the allies win WW1. Those who are aware of Mount Morgan’s direct contribution should feel very proud of their town. For citizens of Mount Morgan who are not familiar with that contribution, these are the facts. When the Morgan brothers became aware of the riches hidden in what was then Ironstone Mountain, during the late 19th century, they were required to form a syndicate in 1882 to raise the money needed to mine this mountain which would later be renamed Mount Morgan. One of the original members of this syndicate was a small time Rockhampton lawyer called William Knox D’Arcy. D’Arcy had access to a moderate amount of family money in Britain, but more importantly possessed a good business brain and was willing to risk everything to achieve what he set out to do in business. By 1886 the Morgan brothers had lost their nerve and taste for goldmining and sold out to D’Arcy who became the largest shareholder in the newly formed Mount Morgan Gold Mining Company. Mount Morgan proved to be so rich in gold that D’Arcy became extremely wealthy, wealth that today would be up there with people like Bill Gates. In 1889 D’Arcy folded his tent and moved his family to Britain. Intent on living the good life, he purchased both a country estate and a family home in the best part of London, while following an interest in horse racing he had developed when living in Rockhampton. 1900 saw this former Rockhampton lawyer agree to finance a private search for oil in what was then Persia, but is now Iran. This was not done out of the goodness of his heart as he was convinced there was oil in Persia. If he found oil, the deal he had struck with the Persian government gave him the right to pump most of the oil in that country. Things did not go well and after several years of fruitless drilling he had dug deeply into his Mount Morgan fortune. In a last ditch attempt to recoup this lost fortune in 1904 he financed the Burmah Oil Company’s search for oil in Persia in return for a large chunk of Burmah Oil shares. Many dry wells followed as the years clicked by. By April 1908 D’Arcy was virtually bankrupt, but his luck suddenly changed in May of that same year when one of his drilling teams struck a gusher that soaked them all in oil and money. In 1909 D’Arcy became a director and part owner of the Anglo Persian Oil Company, formed to tap the bonanza his Mount Morgan money had financed. This company would later become British Petroleum, or BP as it is now known. The money made from mining for gold in Mount Morgan not only made D’Arcy a very wealthy man, but financed the establishment of one of the world’s great multi-national oil companies which today provides employment for tens of thousands of people worldwide.

The other side of the coin is something the past and present population of the town of Mount Morgan should be very proud of. The oil found in Persia with Mount Morgan money was the oil used to power the new ships of the British Navy, which had been constructed before the oil required to run them had been found. Without the D’Arcy/Mount Morgan oil used to power these ships the British Navy would not have been the dominant force it was during WW1. As a major naval force the British were able to blockade German ports, cutting off supplies of everything needed to run a war. This dominance led to the eventual allied victory when the armistice was declared on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, to signal Germany’s defeat. It took Australia many years to recognise the contribution made to Queensland, to Australia and to the world by William Knox D’Arcy and Mount Morgan. This oversight was finally corrected in 2012 when D’Arcy was inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame. Pictured: a young William Knox D’Arcy as a lawyer. Photo supplied.

9 A poem, by Alma Graham A young child watched the ANZAC Day Parade and saw the medals the marchers wore. He turned to his dad and asked with a grin, who or what are they marching for? There are a lot of reasons my son, said dad, come sit down and I’ll tell you a few. They march for the soldiers who didn’t come home, for the ships that were sunk and their crews. And for those who manned the aircraft that flew unfriendly skies They faced many dangers and sometimes lost their lives. We think of the widows and children that these men left behind And to be aware of their welfare and try to give them peace of mind. The fuzzy wuzzy Angels carried wounded soldiers along the Kokoda track. The Front Line Angels (nurses) helped the soldiers regain their health. Courage they would never lack. They march for the Women’s Land Army who worked outside when their menfolk were not there. They ploughed the ground and grew the crops, to hear them complain would be rare. Then there is the Salvation Army who are worthy of our gratitude indeed. They provided food and comfort on the battlefield and wherever there was a need. They march for the Unknown Soldier. His name will never be known. And all of those who died like him. He did not die alone. Not only men and women, but animals too we remember of ANZAC Day. They helped to save our soldiers’ lives in their own special way. Jack Simpson and a donkey were a familiar sight for the wounded at Gallipoli. They rescued 300 soldiers before a bullet struck Jack an unfortunate tragedy. The capture of the wells at Beersheba was due largely to the Whalers, Australian bred horses. Camels were also used in Egypt by the Australian Army forces. Many pigeons were trained and nurtured during World War 2. In Papua New Guinea communications were so poor so many important missions they flew. Black Labrador track dogs were used in Malaya and Vietnam. They saved the lives of their handlers and team members and were expert at tracking a man. We remember the soldiers who defended Australia when Darwin was under attack. The enemy were so close to home. Thank goodness they didn’t come back. So you see son, ANZAC Day means different things to different people, including you and me. Praise the Lord we can keep the spirit alive and keep Australia free.

Hi Argus readers,we hope you all had a wonderful Easter. As you would have spotted by a few of the stories in this issue, it’s been another eventful fortnight in Mount Morgan. How fantastic was the Vintage Motorcycle Rally over the weekend?! What a great turnout to the motorcycle display. A bumper crowd throughout the morning. Well done to local residents Peter and Tracey Jongedyk and Paul and Sharon Draper on hosting such a great event. Here’s Paul and our Project Officer, Camille gearing up for the trip to Goovigen! It’s also been an exciting fortnight for the area in terms of positive promotion. We’ve had a couple of great articles in the Morning Bulletin of late, including our restocking efforts for the Mount Morgan Dam and the weekend’s rally. We’ve also had some statewide coverage too…

Mount Morgan on Creek to Coast!

Who spotted Mount Morgan on the popular TV program, Creek to Coast last Sunday?! What a great promo for the local area! Mount Morgan was featured in a special episode which aired around the State on Easter Sunday. The local area was included as one of four must visit locations when travelling the Tropic of Capricorn – also including Blackdown Tableland, Emerald and Lake Maraboon. The segment made special highlight of some of Mount Morgan’s impressive history, and comprised interviews with locals Bette Broom and Camille Steinberger, as well as some fantastic footage of the area. The footage was captured by the Creek to Coast team during their visit to the region on March 31st. This episode is one of the outcomes from increased support towards the Southern Great Barrier Reef brand; achieved by Tourism and Events Queensland, in partnership with Capricorn Enterprise. A very big thanks to all involved!

Words by our Wildlife Carer featured on ABC Open: Did you know, that along with Ken’s feature, a number of other local stories can found on ABC Open’s website? One includes a fantastic piece written by our very own wildlife carer, Trish Mathers. The ABC Open team made a special visit to Trish and Greg for a chat and a few photos in the lead up to World Wildlife Day (which was March 3rd). Be sure to check out Trish’s “Confessions of a Wildlife Carer” at ABC Open’s website. If you or your community group are interested in sharing your stories with an ABC audience, feel free to get in contact with Lisa from ABC Open at abcopen.capricornia@abc.net.au. She’ll be able to tell you all about the latest projects you can get involved with and help you to learn new digital story telling skills.

News from the Mount Morgan Golf Club We held our AGM on 27 March 2014 where we had an attendance of 25 people which was a very pleasing result. A new committee was elected with the following forming the lead group; President: Joe Koczka. Secretary: Mike Johnston. Treasurer: Esther Johnston. Other members who form the full committee are; Doug Wooffindon, Karen Atwell, Scott Elliott, Paul Curtis, Guy Vandereumel. Our juniors held their club day on Saturday 29 March and were very pleased to have Constable Tamara White come out and spend time with them. As a club we thank Tamara for her time in doing this. The junior winner on this day was Kiana Daniels (pictured).

If you missed Mount Morgan’s spotlight, you may get a chance to see it this week. This episode is expected to air nationwide this Saturday (April 26), 5pm on Channel 7. Please note however that countrywide airing is subject to change.

More Mount Morgan promo:

Mount Morgan Mine set to feature on ABC News24! ABC Open’s feature on local resident, Ken Reid and his time at the Mount Morgan Mine has been getting some great feedback since it was posted online earlier this month. The feature also included an early video filmed by Ken, presenting some of the workings of the Open Cut. We’re excited to announce that Ken’s video will be playing on ABC News 24 on May the 6th at 11:55am, 12:55pm and 1:25am. Be sure to check it out!

A reminder to both our senior and junior players that annual fees are due and can be paid at the club house any time the club is opened. We always welcome new members and offer the first game free.

Fresh idea calls for community involvement In the quick and convenient age that we live in today, there’s no denying that over time some of our meals and their preparation have adopted the same outlook. With readymade packaged ingredients, microwavable meals and frozen foods in abundance, it can be rather easy to take the fast and easy way when it comes to meal time. Despite its growing popularity however, there are those who believe that when it comes to creating a meal, “fresh is best”. One such person is local resident, Daryl Jacobson. For Daryl, the idea of zero preservatives and no processed foods is an important concept when it comes to a meal, and he’s not afraid to put his money where his mouth is. In collaboration with the Railway Hotel, Daryl is looking to commence a local food outlet which sees food brought back to its basics. “I’m looking to start a restaurant at the Railway Hotel, offering fresh food, at set prices,” He said.

The restaurant is set to be opened Friday and Saturday evenings, with a new menu each week. Daryl is aiming to see all commence within the next two months, however is first seeking interest from the local community. A key ingredient in the new business’ operation is to also heavily use local produce and Daryl is calling for all interested to become involved. “In the creation of each meal, I’d like to use as much produce from the area as possible,” Daryl said. “I’m appealing for locals interested in being involved to contact me. I’m really eager to use a variety of local produce – whether it be home grown fruit and vegetables, organic herbs and even meats.” To find out more about the upcoming restaurant and/or to express your interest in supplying local stock, please phone Daryl on: 0487 284 989. Pictured: local resident, Daryl Jacobson is cooking up a culinary project and is seeking interest from local produce suppliers to become involved.

Daryl, whose past work experience includes more than two decades as a chef, said he’s looking to offer “gourmet food, dressed humbly”. “We want to take away the idea of having to eat gourmet food in a fancy five star restaurant with the silverware and fancy crockery,” he said. “We want to simplify that and let the food do the talking.” And he’s hoping his fresh approach to the meals will be the talking point. “The aim is to have no preservatives and no processed foods. So no jars, no tins, no packets. But all fresh.”

News from Mount Morgan State Emergency Service Earlier this month, a combined training session between Mount Morgan SES, Mount Morgan Auxiliary firefighters and Urban Search and Rescue saw a new and exciting challenge for each of our members. Our Tuesday training session on April 1st saw our crews tasked with erecting a Queensland Fire Emergency Service Habitat. This habitat is one of two in the Rockhampton region, and can be used in any disaster in our area. Totalling $25,000 it is no surprise that this structure can be used for a number of purposes, such as temporary accommodation, forward control centre, temporary command centre, staging and meals. It can also be air conditioned or heated as required; making it suitable in all weather conditions.

Its versatility also enables it to be transported and erected in overseas emergency situations. Our local crews were given the opportunity to undertake its setup, through a project aiming to see all crews within a 30 minute response time able to carry out the task quickly when required. It took our crews around 45 minutes to erect.

by Trish & Greg Mathers A couple of days ago, a very young Eastern Grey joey came into care. She is just a pinkie (furless) and weighs around 700gms. Her eyes are open but she doesn’t do much yet but drink and sleep. Luckily she seems very healthy and lively and loves to stretch her long legs out and kick them around when her feed is due. She was found by a caring person who took the time to stop and check the pouch of her dead mother, who was on the side of the road. If she had not have been rescued then she would have died a horrible death of starvation, dehydration and would have been eaten alive by ants. It doesn’t take much time to stop and check any dead or injured wildlife on the road, and it is really worth saving these little lives. A pillowcase kept in the car is always a good idea, as you can put anything in it from a little joey to an injured bird to keep them safe and secure until you can get them to a vet or wildlife carer. Please don’t try to look after them yourself. Wildlife have very special requirements and need specialist care. If you do wish to look after wildlife then contact local carers or groups for more information and support. You must have a Rehabilitation Licence to care for any native animal, and they must be released when ready. Woollie Jumper, the beautiful little Blackstripe Wallaby that came into care in January is doing really well. She is growing really quickly and is getting very demanding. She spends a good deal of time outside now. All native animals require at least an hour of sunlight each day. I have seen kangaroos and wallabies (macropods) that have had broken bones because the person who was raising them neglected to give them the necessary time in the sun. They need to absorb the necessary vitamins to strengthen their little bones. The little sugar glider (Honey, pictured) that came in from the local fireies at the end of last year with his tail seriously burnt is doing really well. The end of his tail dropped off and he has healed well. He is mischievous!! He was living with his family in a tree hollow, complete with a hive of native bees, when the fire came through. Unfortunately his tree was felled and we don’t know what became of the rest of his family. Sugar gliders live in family groups of up to 20. Tree hollows are extremely important as these are their homes.

Hi Folks, We would like to say a few words about the Golden Mount festival and the Mount Morgan Police before continuing with the “meet the team” in the coming weeks. With the Golden Mount festival approaching we would like to remind everyone to have fun, stay safe and drink responsibly. The official opening will commence on the 2nd May 2014 at the Dam. This weekend is the highlight of the social calendar of Mount Morgan residents so with the increased traffic flow please take care when travelling on the roads. Mount Morgan Police Station is located at 30 Hall Street, Mount Morgan. Currently there are six police officers and one administration officer who work from the station. Mount Morgan Station’s opening hours are currently 9am – 2pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. During these hours our friendly admin officer Kerrie is happy to answer any questions for you either in person or via the station telephone on 4938 1222. If you need to speak with a police officer shifts vary and we will be in contact as soon as possible. Remember if it is an emergency call 000 otherwise think Policelink 131444 to report a matter.

Two beautiful birds that came into care last week after being attacked by cats both died, despite being given antibiotics. One was a scaly-breasted lorikeet and the other a wood duck. Please keep your cats indoors. Wildlife just don’t have a chance against them.

Anniversary? Birth announcement? Wedding? Graduation? Birthday? The Argus would love to help you celebrate your milestone with a special congratulations message! Email us to find out more: mmpad@bigpond.com

Bacon & Egg Muffin

BreastScreen Qld: will be visiting Mount Morgan from April 10-29. Breast screening will be available from its mobile unit, free to women aged from 40 years and up. Phone on 13 20 50 to make an appointment. ANZAC Ceremony at Mount Morgan State High: On Thursday the 24th of April the year 11 students from Mount Morgan High School will be holding an ANZAC day ceremony on the MPA of the High School as part of their English Communication assessment.

ANZAC day is an important day, not only for Mount Morgan but also for the rest of Australia. It is a day that we commemorate the fallen heroes of our country. The ceremony begins at 11am. All are welcome.

Makes 6 I know I can hear you all saying “Mick, don’t be silly- you just go to Macca’s for a bacon and egg muffin…” But here is one that will leave Macca’s for dead. It’s my take on bacon and eggs, which is simple and easy to do. With a bit of a hand, the kids will master this one real quick, and you will end up with this very tasty bacon and egg muffin. It is a lovely way to use the two, in a way that is not so greasy. Please give it a go. I hope you all like this one as much as we do.

Shopping list:

• 12 short cut bacon rashers • 6 eggs • 1 cup of sliced buttered Dill pickles • 1 X 6 pack of plain English muffins • Butter or marg - up to you. • 6 slices of processed cheese (it works) • BBQ sauce - yes, if you like tomato sauce or chilli sauce, use that • White pepper and salt to taste

How to make it:

Firstly, poach your 6 eggs - I do mine in the microwave (which are really clotted eggs). While doing this and while they’re cooling down, get on to cooking up the bacon until brown- but not crispy. Now while doing all this, also toast the muffins and butter them while still piping hot.

The Mount Morgan Historical Museum: Following an extraordinary meeting on the 15th of April, 2014, the Mount Morgan Museum would like to announce changes to its Executive Committee. President – Mick Bruce Vice President – Bruce Rodgers Treasurer and coordinator – Gwen Scott Secretary – Cherryl Wilkinson Committee members – Bobbi and Darcy Bolton

A reminder that all are welcome to attend the Historical Museum’s ANZAC Day Display and Ceremony on April 25. ANZAC biscuits, damper, tea and coffee available after official ceremony. Gold coin donation. GMF Photography & Art competition: nomination forms available at IGA Mount Morgan and the Mount Morgan Post Office.

Saturday, May 10th Saint Mary’s Church Hall Good prizes & raffle! Lucky door & lucky spots! Tea & coffee prior to start. All welcome!

With the bacon and eggs cooked, and the muffins toasted – you can begin assembling your bacon and egg muffin. Now, put a bit of sauce on the muffin, then cheese and now the hot egg. Then the bacon, a little more sauce and top it off with the buttered pickle slices and put the muffin lid on top. Don’t forget a little salt/pepper. Now I cut them in half but that is up to you. The same goes with the buttered dill pickles. And there is your bacon and egg muffin, ready to go. You can do some packet frozen hash browns (I do ours in the sandwich press) to serve with. We like them served hot and we also enjoy serving it as part of a weekend brunch. Please enjoy your breakky that we think leaves Macca’s for dead.
