Donghia Suite 631 Donghia’s fall 2013 textile collection takes cues from the artistry of a Spanish matador’s performance. Comprised of 11 patterns, each textile embodies the essence of movement, drawing parallels between culture, its surroundings and the dance of a singular performer. Seen throughout the collection are hints of shimmer and embroidery, inspired by the elaborately embellished matador’s costume, known as traje de luces “suit of lights.”

SHOWROOM PRODUCT DEBUTS 6th Floor

Atelier Lapchi Suite 6–160 Inspired by a fragment of a 16th and 17th century Islamic Kashi tile, Lapchi’s new Medici pattern is a classic example of the delicate undulating geometries that turned palaces, mosques and mausoleums into jewel boxes of pattern and color.

Baker, Knapp & Tubbs Suite 6–187

The Michael S. Smith Collection Martine Cabinet is a bold neoclassical statement with couture details reminiscent of the post–war Hollywood Regency. While the cabinet itself has a dignified restraint, Michael S. Smith looks to bespoke metalwork for a precise yet dignified look. The top rim is a single complex casting, and the body has a remarkably precise inlaid brass bead, substantial decorative collars and delicate pulls. Visit the Baker Showroom to view this and other new additions to the Michael S. Smith Collection.

Century Furniture Suite 1464 Century Furniture’s newest collection, Rue de Seine, was conceived by Paris designer Patrick Aubriot as a tribute to French 20th century furniture, with accents of modernity as his own signature. Delicate forms, clean lines and sophisticated veneers make a collection that is fresh and modern. “I do not think we can actually create new forms, but rather use our inspiration to capture the forms of yesterday and bring them into our lives.”—Patrick Aubrio
