New Miele Showroom To Open At LuxeHome, Suite 133
Sub-Zero Wolf’s showroom expansion will enlarge the existing 4,500 sq. ft. footprint by an additional 1,300+ sq. ft. while adding dozens of current and New Generation products to the display. The new showroom space will have a lifestyle feel and will feature a kitchen, full island, fireplace lounge, beverage area, dining space, breakfast bar, and wine grotto. At the same time, the current showroom will be updated with the much anticipated Sub-Zero Wolf New Generation line of products.
This summer, internationally renowned appliance manufacturer, Miele, will open a 5,500 sq. ft. showroom at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart. Considered one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-end home appliances, Miele offers a complete suite of home appliances including a full culinary line, dishwashers, laundry care and vacuum cleaners. The new Miele showroom will showcase a wide range of Miele’s award winning appliances arranged in vignette settings. It will also feature a live kitchen, which will be used for cooking classes, special events and training sessions.
Elaine Smith Opening on 15th Floor, Suite 1524 Before Elaine Smith, al fresco entertaining was a distinctly less beautiful and desirable experience. Outdoor furnishings and accessories featured fabrics that were weather-proof, but never as soft and stylish. But then in 2003, the successful interior and home accessory designer discovered textiles as lush as they were tough. Their fine fibers could withstand Mother Nature and human nature, resisting sun, rain, and stains. The new showroom will showcase Elaine Smith Pillows.

DreamHome Opening Party Benefited Almost Home Kids We celebrated the 10th Anniversary of DreamHome on Thursday, April 10 at a special Preview Party benefitting Almost Home Kids. More than 630 people attended the event and raised nearly $27,000 for Almost Home Kids. This Naperville-based charity is the official beneficiary of DreamHome and provides transitional care in a home-like setting to children with complicated health needs, training for their families and respite care. Guests at the DreamHome Preview Party were the first to see the design house which has a new location and layout this year. DreamHome, designed by Chicago’s top interior design firms and DreamHome alumni, showcases the unparalleled beauty created when Chicago’s leading designers are given the opportunity to shop the immeasurable resources of the Design Center showrooms. This special installation of the DreamHome brings to life the luxurious and one of a kind products only available at the Design Center . Attendance Up at NeoCon 2014 The 46th edition of NeoCon, June 9 – 11, was a resounding success, delivering a fully immersive commercial design experience that went above and beyond, illuminating cross-industry societal, economic and psychological trends. With attendance up 20%, the halls of the Merchandise Mart were buzzing with specifiers, facility managers, manufacturers, clients and media from across North America and the globe. Close to 50,000 industry professionals gathered to see the latest product introductions for commercial design, to network with industry peers and to take advantage of the stellar line-up of keynote and educational offerings. Keynote sessions were all full-houses as the show’s program resonated with attendees from all commercial markets. Highlights included design super-star Todd Bracher, cognitive psychologist Scott Barry Kaufman, world-renowned architect Adrian D. Smith and Tom Eich, the CTO at IDEO. In addition, the show offered an array of CEU-accredited seminars for interior designers, architects, LEED professionals, lighting and healthcare designers. Special events, awards programs and cocktails rounded out the dynamic experience this year.
