ringing fashion and charity together. Mobile Fashion Week was started in 2011, with no start up funds a group of industry professionals came together and started a week long celebration of fashion, culture, art, and charity. Founder Richard McGill hit the ground running to find the creative minds along the Gulf Coast that were ready to make fashion history. In August of 2011, the first runway shows of MFW hit Downtown Mobile. During the first year of MFW, you saw people from all walks of life enter the galleries and show arenas. This was great not only for the fashion designers showing their collections, but for charity. Raising awareness for charity and creating product knowledge and brand awareness for the designers was a success. Our first year was a knock out not only did it boost social awareness for the charity but sales at participating retailers had a nice increase from the MFW shows as well. MFW is continuing our mission, to promote community, fashion, and awareness for “Fashion...with a Cause”
