Welcome the to Issue There is something very exciting about selecting the cover star for Modeliste magazine. Finding the right celebrity or model that effortlessly shines her own unique personality, idea of beauty and style, while capturing relevancy and the spirit of the times. I truly believe a cover should be meaningful, encapsulate a message of inspiration to others and go above and beyond just a pretty image. This is exactly what we tried to achieve when we invited Hannah Godwin to be our March cover star. As an American television personality, model and YouTuber, moving from Birmingham, Alabama to Los Angeles to be a contestant and finalist on season 23 of The Bachelor, she has proven herself to be much more than what was captured on TV and has had a transformative and empowering social impact for so many. On her cover shoot at CHIC Mansion in Punta Cana, Hannah, with her down-to-earth Southern charm coupled with her honest, open, and approchable demeanor, she has truly become an advocate and inspiration for younger generations. We hope this issue will continue to inspire you as well.

Where did you grow up? I am from Birmingham, Alabama, but I live in Los Angeles. What inspired your move to Los Angeles? The weather, definitely. What do you miss most about Alabama? Probably my family, and my friends, and good ole barbecue. What should you do if you have 24 hours in Alabama? If a football game is on, you have to go. And you have to try grits. A lot of people don't know about grits, they’re very underrated. How would you describe your personal style? I would describe my personal style as being fun, light (so I can throw it easily in my suitcase), and a little bit edgy. What is your daily uniform? I would say probably an easy go-to dress that I can throw on and not have to think about. Sneakers or heels? Sneaks, easy. We learned that you did your own makeup for our Cover shoot. Where did you learn these amazing skills? Yes, I do my own makeup. I learned from watching tons of YouTube tutorials and from having people do my makeup on different shoots. I kind of figured out what I like and what products I like. Fun fact, I actually used to do wedding makeup for people. So I love doing it on other people too! What is a beauty product you never go a day without? I never go a day without wearing highlighter. I love being dewy, and glowy, and I feel like it makes you look healthy and alive, and hydrated. Favorite lip color? Modesty by MAC. The perfect nude ever. 24 MARCH 2020 | MODELISTE
If you could go back and tell your 13 year old self one piece of advice, what would it be? It's so cliche, but to not care what other people think. I cared so much about what all these people thought of me, and ultimately it doesn't matter. Also, people don't stay up all night thinking about this small thing that you did during the day. If I could spend a day with anyone in the world, who would it be? My mom, she's the best. Love you mom. f you had one skill, what would it be? It would be to cook. Sorry, Dylan, I don't cook, I burn everything. What do you do to unwind? By coming here to the CHIC Mansion and relaxing! I love to go anywhere warm to relax. What is something your followers don’t know about you? Something my followers don't know about me is that I used to have a YouTube channel when I was nine years old and some of the videos would go viral. Please don't go find them, they are so embarrassing. Don't tell anyone that though.
What is one message you would like to say to your fans?
It sounds so weird saying fans because I am so just like an average Joe, but stay positive and give back. It doesn't have to be through money or gifts, but sometimes go out of your way for people because it makes such a difference.
How do you decide what to post on your social media? I feel like anytime I snap the shot, I know that it's the shot and I just stop. I don't overshoot, and as soon as I see that I got the shot, I'm like, we're good, we're good. And then we upload it. What is your most rewarding project you’ve had so far? I've had a lot of rewarding projects that I've been able to work on in my career. I feel like every project has been so different and unique. Some have dealt with modeling, some have dealt with fashion. Some, even before all of my life has gotten crazy, were just me doing marketing for a company, and those projects I put blood, sweat and tears into. So I like that I have a different variety of fun little projects I get to do. Any upcoming projects you can tell us about? The cover of Modeliste Magazine! What would you like to be known for? I want to be known for being goofy and friendly and making, hopefully, every person I talk to feel special in some way, shape or form. I think it's the simple things. What is your favorite memory from your trip to CHIC Mansion with Modeliste? My favorite memory from this trip, with Modeliste at the Chic Mansion, was probably either the boat day or the girls nights where we just hang out, maybe have a glass of wine or three, and just laugh, make memories and get to know everybody. What do you love most about Modeliste Magazine? I feel like Modeliste is doing something different than a lot of people are. I feel like they're getting those girls that are relatable, everyday girls that have an eye for fashion and creativity. And I know for me, I felt like I was part of the process of choosing the cover, and choosing the looks and the styles, and the pictures, and the poses, and that was really, really neat. Because a lot of times you don't get to have a say in what your shoot looks like, but Modeliste really allowed me to show my truest version of myself. Where do you want Modeliste to take you next? Jeez, I've always wanted to go to Switzerland. I think Asia is very interesting. And would always love to go somewhere tropical. You can't go wrong if you take me somewhere that has palm trees... I'll be stoked!

How To Get That Celebrity Sparkling Smile What celebrity dentist Dr. Joseph Goodman wants you to know about teeth whitening Brushing and flossing was instilled in us from a young age, but it takes more than diligent daily scrubbing to keep our teeth light and bright. Brighten your smile in a flash with the best teeth-whitening product. Modeliste Editors visited Dr. Joseph Goodman’s Beverly Hills office to put one of the industry’s most popular procedures, Zoom whitening, to the test. Zoom! In-Chair whitening effectively removes stubborn stains using Hydrogen Peroxide Light Activated Gel. Teeth become whiter because hydrogen peroxide has the capability to open the dental tubules (analogous to pores and openings in your skin) and the peroxide cleans the tooth from the inside, which turns the teeth whiter. Since the dental tubules are opened, teeth also become more sensitive to cold, but this side effect is only temporary. Laser teeth whitening takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. A gentle and safe gel, primarily based on hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), is placed on your teeth and the dental laser activates the gel. Darkened teeth can be lightened noticeably (> 8 increments on a dental shade guide). We use the most current version, called Zoom Sophisticated Power III, and have three devices waiting in the office. If you’d like, all three devices can be used at the same time so you and a spouse or a couple of friends can get the treatment together! Dr. Goodman was born and raised in Germany. Dr. Goodman earned his dental education at one of Europe’s top dental schools, the University of Aachen, Germany.
He finished his studies and doctoral thesis in Germany with great honors “Magna cum Laude” and achieved his degree of Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) in Germany. After working in Germany for several years in the department of prosthodontics and reconstructive dentistry, he immigrated to Los Angeles in 1998. Dr. Goodman took the California Dental Board at UCLA and received his second degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Dr Goodman maintains both dental degrees from Europe and the USA. Dr. Goodman established himself in the heart of Beverly Hills in 2003, his primary office. He has lectured internationally in Bahrain, Dubai, Germany and London about cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry and has been featured in many articles and interviews and was voted “Best Dentist" and “Top Dentist" for several years. Dr. Goodman was the dentist featured on the Doctor's TV show, where he was introduced as a TOP leading cosmetic dentist working on a huge life makeover for Tyrica ("Woman born with baby teeth", it was a two episode segment that aired in 2017 and 2018. Dr. Goodman works directly with the Dr. Phil show, as guests of this prestigious TV show are treated by Dr. Goodman before they air on TV. He is the dentist behind the scenes in Hollywood!
His work was also featured several times on KTLA, Los Angeles' local TV station, for their Emmy's edition and the Oscar's edition. As THE cosmetic dentist to many beauty queens and beauty pageants since 2013, Dr. Goodman has helped many local and international beauty pageants and beauty queens with their smile. All Miss California USA beauty queens call Dr. Goodman their personal dentist. Since 2016 Dr Goodman is a visiting dentist in Dubai. He works closely with the Royal Family in the UAE and frequently flies to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for Cosmetic Dentistry. In 2018 Dr. Goodman was invited to lecture in Bahrain for an International Conference. Dr. Goodman maintains his primary office on Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills.

Shelley wrote Frankenstein in 1818 at the age of 21. The idea of the legendary novel was conceived of when she was only 18 years old and in the company of friends and major English literary figures Percy Shelley (her later husband), Lord Byron and John Polidori (credited by some as the creator of the vampire genre of fantasy fiction). Director James Whale's revolutionary film interpretation of Shelley's Frankenstein, arguably the most iconic horror film in history, was followed by his own "Bride of Frankenstein", one of the few sequels to a great film which is considered even better than the original film on which it is based. Both films were conceived of and made by Whale while living at the Villa. The dreamy 1998 film "Gods and Monsters", based on a novel originally titled "Father of Frankenstein", is a daring biographical interpretation of the inner life and imaginings of Whale at the end of his life. English actor Sir Ian Mckellan as James Whale, circa 1957, in vivid dream sequences, recounts haunting memories of various events in his life including an entertaining account of his glamorous life in Hollywood during the 1930's and reconstructions of the filming of Bride of Frankenstein. Both McKellan and Lynn Redgrave, of the English acting dynasty, received Oscar nominations for their work on the film. Whale disliked being identified with horror films only. His personal favorite film Remember Last Night (1935), "a tale of bright young things drinking and partying fast enough to keep despair at bay" is a reminder that Whale belonged to the same "Lost Generation" of artists formed by World War I who produced works of art with a similar theme such as Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises and F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. James Whale retired from making films in 1941. The Villa Sophia is located on a hilltop at the edge of 4300 acre Griffith Park with views of city, ocean, mountains and the Griffith Observatory was designed by noted architect Henry Harwood Hewitt in 1925.
