are easy going blondes, dark chestnut brunettes, and colors inspired by the changing of the season, with warm rich natural hues. This season, consider letting those natural roots shine through in all of their glory! I believe hair should be healthy and changing your hair color as often as you change your clothes is in general a healthy hair no-no, although we have a little expert advice to help your hair look beautiful into the next season.

HOW TO CREATE THE
PERFECT NATURAL BROW by Niki Metz
Your eyebrows, how they have evolved within the last 100 years. From the eyebrow filler first created in 1919 (now Maybeline) to the thin, dark, and skinny brow which would shape the silent movie era and beauty world for almost 30 years. Skip to the Diva Arch of the 50’s dawned upon beauties such as Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe….Fast forward into the 90’s to Madonna’s epic eyebrows, thanks to Makeup God Francois Nars (he was the first person to ever tweeze her eyebrows). But discovering the power of the Tweezer must have taken the eyebrow obsession into an all-time low, giving us the over plucked, sperm like brows most women are still trying to grow out until this very day. It has taken me two years to grow out my eyebrows. You would think being a Greek girl would help the situation but my genes did not help me in this department. Thank you to Latisse, Revitash, and the willpower to not over tweeze, I now have somewhat perfect brows.
The key word here is “Natural”.

You first want to brush your eyebrows downward using the Anastasia brush (using the spoolie side). Next fill in the top portion of your brow with the DiorShow pencil. The key here is to use very light strokes, as if you are feathering in the shape. Focusing on the top part of the eyebrows will give the eyes a lift without making them appear droopy. Using the Spoolie side of the Anastasia brush again, brush your eyebrows upward and complete the first step again but now following the bottom line. When you reach the inner part of the brows (closest to the bridge of your nose) feather the pencil upwards to mimic brow hairs. The lighter the hand the better! Taking the Brush from the angled side apply your Anastasia Brow Powder Duo and lightly apply the color over the pencil. This will create a fuller look, and remove any spots you forgot to fill in. Lastly using the L'oreal Brow Stylist, feather your brows. By this I mean to brush up from the inner brow, slightly brush downward when you reach the arch, and feather outward again at the tail of the eyebrow.

Be brave! My one point of caution is to not over exaggerate the wing - keep the wing length proportional so that it still looks balanced on your face. You want to look bold yet still natural for your everyday makeup routine. 4. Using the same eyeliner, fill in all over your eyelid and dab powder on top to remove excess oil.

Modeliste is excited to have the exclusive on her new launch and sat down with Yvette to learn more about the label we love: Yvette Mandell. What makes your label unique in the industry? Yvette Mandell is a lifestyle brand. From the beginning I have strived to design pieces that you “go to” in your closet without compromising comfort or style. It’s becoming forever difficult to find the balance between workout clothes and evening out pieces. Yvette Mandell is the “in between” brand with an attention to detail and fashion and fills that void in the market. What inspired your latest collection? I am always inspired by the fashion of the 70’s and this collection pays homage to that era with some flares, halters and designs reminiscent of Halston and Givenchy and Studio 54. My favorite piece in the collection is the flare and halter denim knit set that literally screams 70’s fashion – I’m obsessed with it! I also included some sequin, chiffon, knit and french terry textiles, also reminding me of the Disco generation. What do you see as the top 2015 fashion/accessory trends? No question: Fringe and Flares. We’ve seen fringe become a staple and flares are back in a serious way! What inspires you in creating some of the season’s hottest and most trend - setting styles? I am especially inspired to create fabulous pieces because I feel that the workout attire trend has made the customer lazy. Women can be comfortable, beautiful and stylish altogether without much effort at all, and this is what motivates me when I design. My collection solves this problem and I always aspire to design pieces that are easy to mix and match. You pretty much can pack my entire collection along with a pair of jeans and heels and be weekend getaway ready!! Are there any rules to fashion you live by? Mix casual with fancy (think ripped up boyfriend jeans with a sequin top), always wear platform heels or wedges and most importantly accessorize any outfit with great jewelry, a good handbag and a statement jacket - all three can wake up any outfit. Style Icon? I have many but my favorites are the combination of: Jane Birkin- the original cool bohemian it girl, Brigitte Bardot –sexy, yet simple, Audrey Hepburn – the epitome of classic and chic, Stevie Nicks – Rock and roll bohemian and Coco Chanel – timeless style and elegance and the ultimate fashion icon. 50
What do you love most about the fashion industry? I can be my creative self and I thrive in this crazy, fast paced industry! How would you describe your personal style? Definitely more of a glam, bohemian rock and roll girl. I’m obsessed with the fashion of the 70’s. It seems to be my go to Era. How do you use social media to build your brand? I have been using Instagram for quite some time to increase awareness for my brand. Pictures are so important to highlight the details in my designs. I also continue to use Facebook and Twitter to maximize exposure and gain new customers. I launched my brand long before social media and although I am proud that my success as a designer was gained through years of appearances, pounding the pavement and tireless commitment to branding, I realize that in order to stay relevant and engage more customers in today’s market, social media expertise is crucial. Best advice you’ve ever received? My father’s advice since I was a young entrepreneur many years ago – “make it happen”. Both of my entrepreneurial parents taught me that success doesn’t just happen – you have to expect to commit to long hours of hard work to achieve your goals and never give up. Today, I continue to seek advice from my husband who motivates me daily. Greatest success or achievement with the brand? Starting with a dream since I was a little girl, eventually seeing my name at Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Harrods and Disney. UNIQUE.
What makes JNB unique in the industry is that my designs and concepts stem from my own essence. The brand is my name which reflects who I am. I design every piece with the idea of wanting women to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. Which leads to creating and setting the trends not becoming one. One of my accounts, The Rosary Room, summed up the essence of my designs when she said, “When I wear JNB, I feel as if I am wear the jewelry, not the jewelry wears me”. This statement captures exactly how I want women to feel when they wear Jacqueline Nicole Brown.
INSPIRATION.
My last collection was inspired by natural elements that promote healing through stones. Jewelry is very personal. It gives me a way to subtly add the things that shape who I am into my everyday life and wardrobe. I like to work with materials that provide healing by weaving them into chains and metals to create a beautiful original piece. I deigns with elements and properties that move my soul. My last collection “Stone Goddess” had a very big impact. I have always been known for my beautiful stone creations. This last collection is a classic I continually get to add to and reinvent time and time again. It is what defines JNB. 54
TOP HOLIDAY WINTER ACCESSORY TRENDS
I feel as if 2015 Holiday/Winter accessory trends are going to be very eccentric. You are going to see wide, embellished pieces that make a specific statement. Great for cocktail holiday parties as a single statement piece. I personally will probably stick to a lariat with a plunging neckline and keep it subtle sexy. Just more my style.
RULES TO ACCESSORIZING.
There are many rules to live by when accessorizing. I think the most important rule is to keep everything cohesive. Don't wear tribal mixed with classic simple. If you do not feel comfortable with an accessory, don’t wear it. You will look as awkward as you feel.
HOW TO DO THE PERFECT JEWELRY LAYERING.
The best trick to layering is keeping all the necklace in the same style/family. Then stagger your layers so they all hit at different lengths. Even if one is a half inch above another. Let them fall almost like a domino effect. Then, just add and keep adding. Staggering gives you that dramatic statement feel without having all the weight and cumbersome feeling of one big necklace. Also, use different chains. A mix of different textured chains makes a beautiful look.

Modeliste: Describe the Melissa Odabash line’s concept. Melissa: For my SS16 line I wanted to cater to the ‘apres beach’ lifestyle. On my travels I’ve noticed people don’t just want a bikini and kaftan anymore and nowadays the beach looks more like a catwalk than a place to lie down and get a tan! I think it’s down to things like Instagram, people always want to look their best and capture every moment and every outfit– even on holiday. I’d say many of the pieces in this collection offer a lot of versatility, so much of the beachwear can take you from sunbathing, to lunch and from the poolside, to dinner which is pretty helpful with luggage restrictions these days! Expanding my accessories collection has really helped my clients to accent their holiday wardrobes – chic beach tote bags with practical swimwear pockets are perfect for throwing everything into for a day by the pool and classic fedoras can help keep natural hair under control once it’s been in the water.

Modeliste: How would you describe the Melissa Odabash Woman? Melissa: The Odabash Woman has evolved over the year’s – she can be a party hopping girl going from boat-to-boot in Ibiza but can also be the elegant and well-travelled woman sunning herself in St Barts. The Odabash woman is ageless, confident in her own skin and of course, has a great sense of style! Modeliste: What inspired your latest collection? Melissa: I’m constantly inspired by the different places I visit on my travels, from things I see in nature, prints I see on antique furniture and vintage fabrics. I always aim to produce a range where there is something for everyone and that caters to a holiday. I love the more understated and muted themes, this year the main stories within my collection are the earthy tones and textures of the African Savannah. I love the south of france and the times elegance of the French Riviera which inspired the Nautical story and one of my favourite era’s particularly in interiors is the Seventies which has even seen the introduction of a suede skirt and minimal monochrome pieces - so as you can see I cover lots of different styles and silhouettes.
Modeliste: 5 must-haves this season. Melissa: Everything is so different, but if I had to narrow it down, I’d probably say the Nic Kaftan, Maryanne Shirt Dress, Kylie Beach Dress, Dominica Swimsuit and Sicily Bikini. Who knows though, by this time next week I’ll probably have a different five favourites, if you follow my Instagram @ melissaodabash you can see me posting my favourite pieces and some outfit inspo ideas. Modeliste:Are there any rules to fashion you live by? Melissa: Don’t always follow the trends, buy clothing that suits your shape. I’m known for having a signature style which is quite boho: on holiday I go for a relaxed look during the day I love a white bikini with crochet dresses and layered necklaces, but in the evening I’ll glam things up a bit. I love to wear my long jersey maxi dresses with gold sandals, that’s one of the perks of the job I guess, I’m never short on things to wear! Modeliste: Style Icon? Melissa: My mother, even from my earliest childhood memories my mother has always taken pride in her appearance – she taught me everything I know. As a child I would watch her get ready, applying her makeup and styling her hair until it was flawless , she gave herself a manicure every night, loved getting glammed up and always taught me to stay true to your own style, after all fashions can come and go!

She adores fashion but doesn’t take herself too seriously.” Sam tells us. “She is a busy lady – whether that is in her career or with family – but she takes the time to treat herself to a little bit of luxury.” We recently caught up with Sam to learn more about brand and its latest collections, but just a word of warning: You're not going to be able to read this without contracting a serious case of wanderlust. What makes Sambag one of the hottest lines coming out of Australia? I think people can relate to Sambag as a lifestyle brand, our point of difference is the fact that we provide classic pieces in luxe fabrications that work with every busy woman’s lifestyle. Whether it’s a simple ballet flat, a great piece of denim or a cosy knit, our pieces won’t go out of style and there is something for everyone. Describe the overall concept of the line. I launched Sambag in 1997 as a bag label after an eye-opening trip to New York. Soon the brand was stocked in high-end boutiques across the country. After introducing shoes to the line, I showed at fashion week for the first time in 1999 and the rest is history! I opened Sambag’s first store in 2005 in Sydney’s Woollahra, where I still live today. 72
After many sleepless nights, the store launched with a wide range of shoes, handbags and a small collection of cashmere. The brand has continued to strengthen and we now have 12 boutiques Australiawide: 5 in NSW, 3 in VIC, 2 in QLD, 1 in WA and a thriving online boutique. Apparel has now become more of a focus for me – I love to perfect timeless shapes using luxurious fabrications. What makes it unique in the industry? We offer our customers timeless pieces in classic cuts, using unique and luxurious fabrications. This ensures our products never go out of style. We also appeal to a broad age range, servicing women in their 20’s through to women in their 60’s. Our products are so timeless that they appeal to everyone – mothers, daughters, and grandmothers… I would love it if a pair of our ballets or one of our cashmere knits was in every woman’s wardrobe
What influences you in creating some of the season's hottest and most trend-setting styles? I draw inspiration from various sources – I am quite a tactile person, so I love to look to nature for inspiration, and I’m a real art-lover – my house is filled with artwork that I have collected over the years. I also love to reference past decades, particularly the 20’s, 60’s and 70’s, to draw inspiration – it can really be found anywhere! What inspired your latest collection? I have been inspired by luxurious fabrics and colours, it’s all about creating stylish and relaxed summer for a Sambag woman. Fabrics like breezy silks and chic cotton embroideries in trendy summer colours are particularly inspiring for me. How do you constantly evolve the line? Tell us about the brand. Oats Cashmere is ladies and Men’s 100% cashmere, styles that can easily be taken to the beach or to the city and from the office to your evenings dining with friends. What makes Oats Cashmere unique? We are a direct source and do not use any agent or middleman which adds to the price and could possibly compromise the quality. Our factory has won several awards for setting the standard in the cashmere industry, and we buy yarn from the best farmers then spin the yarn ourselves for a consistently high quality product. What inspired your latest Fall/Winter collection? Fall 2015 is a throwback to the 80’s, when I started in this industry, bringing back the high waistline with the cropped tops but in a modern twist. There is lots of stitch interest which adds to the luxury. I also love the open side seams that has a subtle sexiness about it that can be worn with something lacey underneath or nothing at all. I also like to keep an open eye during my travels, for styles, shapes, or colors that inspire. How do you constantly evolve the line? I always ask everyone about their favorite sweater. Everyone has a sweater they absolutely love and have worn to death, then I like to update or use shapes with a modern twist, then I name the sweater after that person.

3 must-haves or favorites of your collection this season. We are loving the maxi length for this season and love to layer our easy dress style Janet under our maxi cardigan style Judy. We also have a new pull on pant, style Joan, that has deep pockets and rolled hem that works well with our best seller, style Estella with the side slits. Both are easy looks with sneakers or high heels. Then in the men’s, we love our vintage style Martin in the honeycomb stitch, worn over with the men’s track pant style Josh for head to toe cashmere. Are there any rules to fashion you live by? Your style is timeless and comes from inside you, so wear it with pride. Best advice you've ever received? My dearest and oldest Friend Ricky Sasaki ,whom recently passed, told me “of course creative designs and marketability are important but perseverance is key”!!! He reinvented himself over and over again, and left behind legacies such as the Japanese designers Comme des garcons, Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, Matsuda, and more recently, Theory. Greatest success or achievement with the brand? Consistently deliver a high quality product in the right shapes and trends. Style Icon? I have been a huge fan of Ines De la Fressange my whole life for her ageless beauty, style and grace!!! What's next for the line? New launches? Events? For Fall ‘16 we will increase our European distribution to include London, therefore adding to our current distributors in Canada, Germany, Austria, Finland and Switzerland, where the European economy is strongest.
