TAYSHIA ADAMS Where are you from? I'm from Orange County, California. Describe yourself in a sentence. I am a bubbly... Well, I like to call myself a whiskey sour, to be honest with you. I'm smooth, sophisticated, but also I have a kick and a little spice, if you will. In what ways has your career shaped you into the woman you are today? I feel like I've really had to learn to just rely on myself and my self-confidence and my instinct. I feel like that has shaped me to be a very confident woman, and I can conquer the world on my own. Are there any other avenues of your career that you would like to explore in the future? Oh my gosh. I feel like I want to do so many things, but hosting is probably the first thing on my plate right now that I really want to conquer. I would love to start a brand of, probably, swimwear or intimates, just because I feel like I really understand the female body, especially women with bigger chests and that's such a big deal that people need help with. So I want to conquer that, I think. What's something people would be surprised to know about you? Let's see. I've never broken a bone in my body. I don't know if that is a surprise to know that about me. Let me see, what else? I've never lived anywhere else. Living in New York is really the first place outside of California that I've ever lived. Whose closet would you want to raid right now? Two closets that I would want to raid right now would be Kristin Cavallari, because I just think she's so stinkin’ cute, as well as Zendaya. She always is serving looks. What's an obstacle you face, and in what ways have you overcome it? I feel like the most recent obstacle that I have faced and I've overcome is just number one being the first biracial bachelorette. I feel like with that came so much responsibility. It's still a lot of responsibility, but it was this one pressure, unspoken pressure that I felt, but I've tried to take on head- on and with full confidence. But also just being a strong, empowered woman and trying to be an entrepreneur. What are three words you live by? Three words that I live by are faith, confidence, and adventure.

14 APRIL 2021 | MODELISTE

What are your top 3 beauty secrets? Well, obviously you definitely do not go to bed without washing your face. Serum is your best friend and so is hydration. Oh, sunscreen. Sunscreen is number one. Everyone always says that, and you're like yeah, yeah, yeah, it's sunscreen. No, it's a game changer. Being a prominent TV personality opens a lot of aspects of your life to the public. How do you find ways to keep your personal life private? Keeping my personal life private. Wow. That's kind of hard. Especially since I fell in love on TV. Everyone is so invested in my love story, I feel like, which is an amazing thing. And it's an honor, to be honest with you, to have so many people rooting for you. But I feel like there's so much more that goes on than I show on Instagram. And I feel like taking a little bit of time for myself, whether it be like just not being on Instagram on Sundays and just having that time between Zach and me is really important for me. In recent times, we have learned to adapt to spending more time indoors - any hobbies you have picked up along the way? I can say that I tend to burn a lot of food. I definitely am not the best chef. That's one thing that I've learned in quarantine. But I will say that I'm really creative when I start to get in a really good space of getting inspiration, whether it be looking online or talking to some of my girlfriends. I feel like this connection, emotional connection, and friendship has really developed over quarantine. Because you've just been creative in finding ways to get to know more people through Zoom or phone calls or whatnot. And I feel like those close women next to me really inspire me. So I feel like it's definitely helped blossom what I want to do in the long-term. What can people expect to see from you in the remainder of 2021? Ooh, there's a lot coming in 2021. I have been working on so many projects, some of which I can't speak about, but I feel like hosting is something that I'm really trying to take on, and I really feel good about that. Also, something in the beauty space. So stay tuned. What are you looking forward to most at the moment? Just spending time here in the Banyan Tree Hotel. It's tropical paradise here, and I absolutely love it. I've needed a little bit of vacation and getaway. My soul needs it, so I'm so happy to be here. As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platforms? If there's one thing that I can do and that I pray about is just to try to be a light to people and just to show people that a smile goes a long way. Kindness goes a long way, and just showing people love, because we all need it. And at the end of the day, that's what we're all looking for.

What's something you would like to say to your fans? Thank you so much for the support, it truly means a lot to me! What has been a highlight of working with Modeliste Magazine? I had the best time working with Modeliste, it was such a fun, creative and collaborative effort. You have a podcast called Click Bait with Bachelor Nation. What topics do you discuss and how can people tune in? Click Bait, it's the ultimate pop-culture podcast, where we also talk about all things Bachelor Nation, just a little tidbit because we are always in some type of drama. So we cover a little bit of Bachelor Nation news as well as the latest Click Bait articles out there, as well. We have really fun celebrity guests. So what can you expect is just some really fun other reality TV stars and celebrities. Yeah. And just basically feeling like you're just chatting with your friends at home, but the latest gossip and whatnot. How can people tune in? People can tune in by subscribing on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, the Wondery App, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. How would you describe your personal style? I would say it’s feminine. I love a lot of dainty items too, but just like flowy and classic, classy. What's a new trend you're loving? Leather pants. I don't even know if that's even a new trend. I think it's a trend that's come back. I bought my first couple of pairs just two weeks ago, and I'm trying to rock those. So, watch out New York. What's something you would like to say to your fans? I truly am honored that you guys are even fans, that's such a crazy word to me, but come along for the ride, we're just getting started. I appreciate you guys all more than you know. What has been a highlight of working with Modeliste Magazine? Oh my gosh. I would have to say it's meeting some really inspiring women, people that are just so confident in their own, and we all have such different styles. I think probably the best thing about this industry is that there's so many people that are so creative and different from you, and they really just open your perspective on life. I got to meet a lot of amazing women this trip.

Download to discover loads of exclusive video series, podcasts, helpful resources and online events! Join the community, ask for advice and put the world to rights in a safe space, full of women who really get it. Modeliste sat down with Founder & CEO of Restless Network, Olivia DeRamus and this is what we learned.

42 APRIL 2021 | MODELISTE

What was your inspiration for Restless? Has your vision changed over time? Restless came out of a pretty dark time in my life. When I was a freshman in college, I was sexually assaulted. And because I reported him to my university, and though I was found in the right by the university tribunal, he sued me for defamation - to the tune of millions of dollars. That lawsuit lasted for the majority of my adult life (I'm 26 now). During that time, I was isolated from my friends and family, and I couldn't tell anyone what was happening to me, not even my doctor. As for things like writing in a journal? That was out too, as I would have had to hand it over to the court. I was forcibly put on mute. Eventually, I had to realize that the court was never going to protect me. At first I felt hopeless, I didn't know how to find help. At some point though, I started to try to think of a way I could get some sense of empowerment back. I thought that maybe if I could facilitate the stories and experiences of other women, that I could speak indirectly through that, and that maybe that would be enough. So Restless was never this big business plan, it was initially just an experiment in trying to feel ok again amid a situation that I couldn't control. Very happily, it did give me a sense of empowerment again, and people started to notice the website and articles I was putting out. We started to grow really quickly, and eventually the legal battle ended. That was when I had the chance to think about Restless as a real business, and focus on what we could be. For me, it came down to the fact that I wanted to create something that could help other women in my position. That ended up being an app where women could make meaningful connections, ask for help + give advice, and access resources in a safe space. It's been a crazy metamorphosis since 2019! Now, we're focused on being a social network you can turn to as a better alternative to platforms like Facebook and Twitter, who generally don't prioritize the wellbeing of women. What were the unexpected challenges you faced when starting Restless and how did you tackle those? I've always been a people person, but I had never managed people before. So when I found myself in charge of a ton of different people pretty much over night, I was definitely overwhelmed and had to do a lot of learning really quickly. For me it really came down to leading with empathy while also remembering that there's a difference between being someone's friend and someone's boss.

I think the other main challenge was that a lot of people don't think that #MeToo issues are relevant anymore. There are a lot of individuals who think that the movement fixed everything and that it's something they can close the book on. Of course, any woman can tell you that's absolutely not the case, but it's hard building a business that talks about these issues when you have to constantly justify your reason for being to people who don't get it. Plus, then there was the idea that if you talk about the more intense issues, you can't talk about the more fun stuff like dating or side hustles.

What really changed things for me was when I realized that the people who don't get why #MeToo issues are still important and are not the people I'm here to serve anyways. By embracing our core demographic that already cared, I started to show up for them better, and I think we've grown stronger as a trusted resource because of it. This same thinking helped me with the other issue, the people who don't understand that women are multifaceted are ultimately not our audience or would get our community. By ignoring the people who don't get it, and focusing on the people who do, and actually need us, we're thriving a lot more than we would if we tried to appeal to everyone. What were your early success tactics? How did you build awareness/spread the word? How were you able to attract your first users? In the early days we were just a website with an Instagram. A lot of people say that to grow your audience you have to be on all the platforms. I didn't have the ability to do that (Instagram is a lot in itself, am I right??) But we grew really quickly and I think it's because I focused on consistency and being as helpful and engaging as I could be on one platform, as opposed to being more irregular across a bunch. When we launched the app, we were lucky in that we had already built a community of like minded women who were naturally interested in what we were doing next. A lot of what I've learned about successful launches has come from just doing it. If you can identify what platform your ultimate target demographic uses the most, that will help you invest your time the most effectively. I was lucky in that my first inclination was that platform for my core audience.

As a female-founded company, what are your core values, and how has that come through and changed as the company has grown? Our core values I would say are empathy, optimism, and facts. We want to be a place you can go to take a breath and find something genuinely helpful, we're not here to post triggering content or stress you out. Our commitment to this approach is seen in how we've structured the app (it's divided into topic sections so you don't have to engage in something that might trigger you) as well as our original approach to producing articles and other forms of resources. Our ultimate question will always be: is this piece of content, feature of the app, or new project going to make someone's life better? If the answer is no, we don't do it. We have a lot of big things coming up. An updated version of the app, new products... My biggest nightmare would be if we weren't producing things that are genuinely helpful and reliable. I'm aware there's a lot of pink washing happening with brands right now, so I'm always trying to provide as much value to our community as possible. What is exciting to you about the potential to use Restless as a platform to drive social change? I'm really excited about the idea of creating a better internet for women. All of the social networking apps we use right now were created by men. Facebook in particular, to rate the hotness of the founder's female classmates. The platforms serve important functions in society, but they have also caused serious societal problems too. Too often they are vehicles for hate speech, harassment, trolling, bullying, and extremism. And then there's the other side of things, where social media can so often make you feel bad about yourself, and distort reality. 64.5% of our users don't feel comfortable being honest about how they really feel on mainstream social media platforms. (Happily though, 93.5% of users feel more comfortable talking about how they feel on Restless than on any other platform) I'm really proud of that stat! I really believe that the Restless Network can address these issues by doing things differently from the start - and providing a safe space you can go to ask for help if you need it. My ultimate goal is that a woman could be crying on the bathroom floor, and no matter where she is, she could take out the app and find support. Whether it's from the other app users or the resources we provide. So we have big goals in both how we affect individual people and society as a whole. We're not trying to get into debates, we're trying to better the lives of the women who need us. MODELISTE | APRIL 2021 43

Your community is growing every day, what makes you most proud?

Olivia Deramus, Founder & CEO of Restless Network What is it about the work you’re doing that’s disruptive? There's a lot to be honest! We're definitely challenging the boys club of big tech. And honestly, sometimes I do get nervous about it. Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter hide behind certain laws that say they aren't liable for what people post on their platforms. And yes, as someone with her own social media app, there's an aspect of those laws that make sense. However, it doesn't give any business an excuse to ignore harassment and hate speech, and in some cases, fostering it. We're not doing any of that. We have a zero tolerance policy towards unsupportive behavior. And I know it sounds simple, but in reality, it's a huge break from how social media platforms operate. Tech companies have the power to kick off users who spread misinformation or do harm to other users. But they don't, and they won't. We do. 44 APRIL 2021 | MODELISTE

When I see the women on the app helping each other. And I see it every day. From day one, they've been giving the most thoughtful and meaningful supportive comments to each other. I'm talking paragraphs long responses. It's that interaction that Restless is here to facilitate. When I got the first message from a user telling me that we had helped her recover from

her #MeToo experience, I really felt that I had accomplished what I had set out to do. That if we fail in the future, we'd have already succeeded in the ways that matter most. What does a typical day in the life look like for you? How do you deal with work stress and any self-care tips? I tend to work late as opposed to early mornings. You don't need to force yourself to work like everyone else if you are lucky enough to have the flexibility to do so. We have a small core team, so I'm involved in all aspects of the business. One day it's marketing/editing content/finance and another it's app development/brand strategy/management tasks. I'm not going to lie to you, it can be a lot. I live on ice oat milk lattes. I stay sane by always making time to do long walks in the park with my dog and committing to a workout routine. I'm really into kickboxing. It makes me feel in control of my body

and my life, it's really good as a grounding strategy. Also, at home dance parties accompanied by at home margaritas! Who are the leaders/CEOs that inspire you? Definitely AOC and Whitney Wolfe Herd. I think AOC does such an amazing job at being a transparent and authentic leader. I always look at how she handles situations and try to emulate that when I come up against challenges. I also am really appreciative of Whitney proving that businesses with a social mission can achieve just as much mainstream success, if not more, than a business without a cause. I've seen a lot of my own community members have really quick and thoughtful responses from Bumble when they've dealt with harassment or worse, and that wouldn't be the case if she didn't make women's wellbeing a priority. You can be successful and also care about other people. How are you thinking about the future of the company? Where do you see the brand going? I definitely have big ambitions for the Restless Network! I believe that there is a huge need for what we're providing, and I want to provide it for as many women as possible. I think that we could definitely scale to the size of a platform like Reddit for example. I want to bring these often traditionally "taboo" conversations we're having on the app - whether that's topics like #MeToo, Mental Health, or Work & Money - into the mainstream.

SEXY LEGS FOR SPRING As Spring has finally arrived, we are ready to start showing off those sexy legs. Dr. Bunke at La Jolla Vein Care, a leader in vein treatment, shares with us about the values of leg health, the myths (no it’s not just a problem for your grandma!) and why treatments go beyond aesthetic benefits. Modeliste’s Editor experienced first-hand their state-of-the-art ultrasound diagnostic procedure and received the ultimate in vein treatment advice and treatment options. Here, why spider veins happen—and how to treat them in time for beach season and all year-round.

46 APRIL 2021 | MODELISTE

Tell us about La Jolla Vein Care and what makes it so unique and such a leader in vein treatments. La Jolla Vein Care is unique because we exclusively specialize in vein disorders. This means we are able to perform all ultrasound diagnostics in-office and offer all treatment options for vein conditions vs. a one-sizefits-all approach based on more limited treatment availability. Since we are skilled in all modern treatment modalities, we can truly customize a treatment plan to the unique needs of the patient. Our leadingedge treatments are able to treat most vein conditions, including large varicose veins without surgery, using endovenous techniques. La Jolla Vein Care is also one of the only vein centers in Southern California that is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). IAC accreditation is a “seal of approval” that patients can rely on as an indication that the facility has been carefully critiqued on all aspects of its operations considered relevant by medical experts in the field of Vascular Testing and as a Vein Center. All of our physicians are Fellowship-trained and are involved in clinical research and publications and are truly experts in their fields. We teach other doctors and medical students, and I’ve even written the textbook on vein conditions. Why is leg health so important? Some people think various vein treatment is just a superficial or cosmetic fix. This couldn’t be further from the truth. If left untreated, venous reflux disease and varicose veins can cause symptoms that interfere with life, like leg pain, aching, fatigue, night-time cramps and restless legs. Complications can occur such as darkening of the skin around the ankles (venous stasis), blood clots, spontaneous vein rupture and leg ulcerations. Beyond the aesthetic benefits, what are the additional benefits to having veins treated. Improvements in appearance are just the icing on the cake. What really matters is overall patient health. Treatment of the underlying venous reflux reduces venous hypertension, thereby reducing symptoms of leg heaviness, fatigue, swelling and pain in some. It also prevents progression of disease and the complications mentioned above. Can you tell us more about the process? Visible varicose veins are often just the “tip of the iceberg” pointing to a deeper underlying condition. Ultrasound evaluation of the veins beneath the skin (including both deep and superficial veins) can identify problems with valve function, direction of blood flow and blood clots. Therefore, the first step in evaluating venous disease is an ultrasound examination. Based on this exam, a treatment plan is customized.

As travel has finally begun to resume, what are things that we can do to maintain vein health during flights? One percent of passengers on long-haul flights have been shown to develop a deep venous thrombosis (DVT). This is a life-threatening condition. Compression stockings help reduce the risk of DVT. Therefore, on long flights compression stockings are important as well as performing frequent calf muscle pumps, staying hydrated along with stretching and walking about the cabin in order to reduce the risk of DVT. Compression also reduces symptoms of leg swelling and fatigue. What are some of the myths or misconceptions around vein health? Which are true and which are false? 1. MYTH: Varicose veins are a cosmetic issue.

6. Myth: Varicose veins indicate generalized poor health. Fact: This is untrue. Even Olympic athletes get varicose veins. When is it important to begin having veins checked? It is important to get checked if signs of venous disease are present including symptoms such as leg heaviness, fatigue, swelling, pain or night-time symptoms restless legs or cramps. Also, if you have experienced complications such as blood clots, or see visible indications such as darkening of the skin around the ankles or open ulcers around the ankles you should be checked. Really, we encourage anyone who has concerns to look into this area of their health as an ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive test.

Fact: Varicose veins are often a sign of underlying vein disease and can have serious consequences. 2. MYTH: Varicose veins only affect women. Fact: While women suffer from vein problems three times more commonly than men, men also suffer from vein disease. We see men every day for varicose vein issues. 3. MYTH: Wearing high heels and crossing your legs causes spider veins. Fact: There is no proof of this. Most commonly, vein conditions are caused by heredity, age, hormones, pregnancy and sitting occupations. 4. MYTH: If my parent had varicose veins, I am likely to get them. Fact: Yes, there is a hereditary component to varicose veins. Having one parent with varicose veins increases your risk and if both parents with varicose veins, there is a 90 percent chance you will also develop them sometime during your life. 5. MYTH: Only old people get varicose veins. Fact: While the risk of vein conditions increases with each decade of life, young healthy people can get them too. We frequently see men and women in their 20s and 30s—and especially women after childbirth, as pregnancy also increases the risk of varicose veins. Fifty percent of women who have had three or more pregnancies have varicose veins.

Is the treatment painful? Any side effects? Recovery time? There are a variety of treatments that are customized to the patients’ needs, but all treatments are tolerable with little pain and take about 30 minutes. For patients concerned about pain with injection treatment, we offer the region’s only cryosclerotherapy, which is painless because a puff of cold air anesthetizes the skin before the needle touches it. Patients walk out of the office and return to most normal activities immediately. Heavy exercise is discouraged for two weeks following treatment, but there is no limit to the amount of walking and light activity patients can do – even immediately after treatment. Why we will love La Jolla Vein Care. The expertise of the physicians, staff and our friendly, welcoming environment. We pride ourselves on being more like a concierge medical practice, where attention to patients by staff and physicians is unparalleled. During treatments, patients watch Netflix comfortably and are offered a sparkling water and snack when they leave.

That’s pretty much the daily uniform, I do miss events and getting dressed up though and can’t wait for that to come back! What is a beauty product that you don't go a day without wearing? Clarins new eye cream called “total eye lift”, even if I’m running on 2 hours of sleep, you wouldn’t be able to tell!

What do you want to be known for? I hope to leave a legacy of owning your true self and embracing your flaws and imperfections to the younger generation, I have 3 younger sisters who motivate me to set that example every day. It’s been such a long journey to self love that I finally feel like I’m in a place where I am more confident and comfortable than ever!

What are you most excited about these days? These days, I've been most excited about learning new things. I started taking French and boxing lessons about four months back and, ever since I took on new activities, I'm addicted! And it makes me so excited to try more new things in my life. Next… pilot aviation classes? learning the violin? I mean, hey, why not... right?

If your life had a theme song, what would it be? Fade Into You by Mazzy Star

How did you begin your career as an influencer? This is such a long story because, well for me, it didn't happen overnight… or even in 3 years. I have been doing and working towards “this” for as long as I can remember. MySpace days, Tumblr days… I have learned through different avenues and lucky for me, I found my platform in Instagram and made it my own. A lot of trial and errors take place, but that’s HOW you get better and HOW you grow yourself and your brand.

What advice can you give to someone who aspires to have a career like your own? Please, please, please, whatever you do, be yourself. Don't be what everyone else ‘pretends’ to be… be YOU! And make content and say yes to EVERYTHING! jobs, meetings, work ventures, trips!! Say yes (within reason) but never be too good for something or someone, EVER.

Are there any other avenues of your career that you would like to explore? Oh absolutely! I want to become bigger than just my face or my marketing skills. I want to help people and show them who they can be through this platform…. and have fun doing it!! What does a typical day look like for you? It depends on what day it is… same as anyone else in many ways. I wake up, I brush my teeth, I stretch, I get to my emails, I put on music FIRST AND FOREMOST, and go about whatever I have to do that day. Whether that be shooting or just cleaning my apartment, it really depends. No typical days here, honey. As a creator, how do you find ways to stay inspired? Music always inspires everything I do. It's my theme music, my intro to my days… and my outro that helps me go to bed at night and also helps me get in the mood for whatever I have going on, so you already know there are playlists on playlists happening here. Alot of moods and things to do which always means a lot of genres getting played. If you could switch lives with someone for a day who would it be? Probably a dog, to be honest. Just to love someone so unconditionally and just not a worry in the world except where my ball went, and how to get my favorite person to go for a walk with me. The joy I see in EVERY single dog’s face when that happens is something I wish to experience for a whole day. 100 APRIL 2021 | MODELISTE

Recent binge watches? OMG, where do I begin? I just finished Cecil Hotel, Framing Britney, Broadchurch, RuPaul's drag race…literally I binge them all! Name them, I've seen them or am currently watching them now.

What was your favorite part of our Mode Around The Globe getaway to Banyan Tree Mayakoba? The connections I made were par none. Every single person that went on this trip was so magical in their own way.. and that is so rare to come across these days and it was truly special! Not to mention the beauty of Banyan Tree Mayakoba, its wonderful setting, landscape and the accommodations we were in just took it to a whole other level.

What are you most excited about these days? I am excited to become a bi - coastal resident and live in both LA and NY, and for all the new opportunities and doors that will open up, all the new experiences! How did you begin your career as an influencer? Funny enough, I began on Vine doing 6 second videos with a small community of people which, funny enough, I met through a local church in LA. Are there any other avenues of your career that you would like to explore? I would eventually like to explore all aspects of design, such as furniture, clothing, shoes, accessories, handbags. I also want to eventually write and direct my own film projects and be more knowledgeable in all aspects of film, since film is, and has always been, my "One True Love". What does a typical day look like for you? Since the pandemic, a typical day is waking up, drinking my coffee, walking my dogs, Lassie and Roo, writing in my journal, making a to-do list for the day, going to the gym (at least 3 times per week), then phone a friend at lunch. The day from there consists of studying my lines for self tapes I have to prepare for the week, walk the dogs again. And for my evening, I love to cook different pastas while enjoying a glass of wine or beer while listening to music. I finish my day off by relaxing, putting on a film or a new TV series, and chilling with my dogs. As a creator, how do you find ways to stay inspired? My biggest inspirations all come from nostalgic movies and film and old artists and musicians, particularly from the 70's, 80's & 90's. Also Vintage magazines and media. If you could switch lives with someone for a day who would it be? Zoe Kravitz - I love everything about her, she's amazing! If your life had a theme song, what would it be? You Get What You Give" by The New Radicals Recent binge watches? Always, "Sex In the City", "Ally McBeal", " The OC". I recently watched "Behind Her Eyes" & "Your Honor".

What advice can you give to someone who aspires to have a career like your own? Be open to constantly changing, evolving, and studying the craft of your choosing thoroughly. Be Kind and good to everyone, no matter their background. Also, be prepared for rejection, on top of rejection, on top of more rejection, but remember that this will lead you to better opportunities that are meant for YOU. Just never give up, no matter how "cliche" that may sound. What was your favorite part of our Mode Around The Globe getaway to Banyan Tree Mayakoba? The opportunity to meet and work with such incredible women, in such an amazingly beautiful setting! It was honestly my most favorite travel experience, full of so many surprises, of any trip I have ever been on. Thank you to the Modeliste team for being so kind and gracious, I will never forget how amazing this experience was.

What are you most excited about these days? Now that I have graduated and started to gain some momentum with my career, I think I am more excited than ever about my future. The world may not be back to “normal” just yet, and it may never be, but we have to keep pushing forward. How did you begin your career as an influencer? Honestly, I think my career as an influencer is just beginning. I have always had an interest in social media and content creation since I studied Mass Communication and Media Studies at Arizona State University, but for years I struggled to translate that interest into a paying job. Are there any other avenues of your career that you would like to explore? I feel like now more than ever there are opportunities to grow your brand beyond just one platform. This fall I plan to launch my own podcast, “Out of His League,” detailing the world of professional sports through my eyes, the girl next door. What does a typical day look like for you? A typical day for me ALWAYS starts with coffee. If I don’t have my coffee in the morning it can throw off my entire day. Then, it is on to my morning skincare routine (yes it has several steps). After that, I like to catch up on work emails and set goals for the day. I am the most productive in the morning and early afternoon so I try to complete all of my clerical tasks by then. Since moving home and the pandemic, I have gotten in the habit of walking outside with my mom each day. Our walks are typically part workout, part therapy session, and part business meeting. Work wise, the rest of my day can vary significantly. Sometimes I am working on a project, other times I am brainstorming or researching for the next one. The evenings are my opportunity to recharge and regroup with family dinner and self care. Then finally it's off to bed! As a creator, how do you find ways to stay inspired? I draw most of my inspiration from other creators, I love seeing how others can express their creativity and make something their own. If you could switch lives with someone for a day who would it be? That is a tough one. There are so many people that I feel I could learn from by walking in their shoes for a day, but if I had to choose just one, I would say Meghan Markle. 122 APRIL 2021 | MODELISTE

If your life had a theme song, what would it be? “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield. Some people may recognize it as the theme song for “The Hills,” but I actually sang it in my fourth grade talent show, and the lyrics still resonate with me to this day…“live your life with arms wide open, today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten.” Recent binge watches? Bridgerton, The Crown, and whatever new crime documentary is on Netflix. What advice can you give to someone who aspires to have a career like your own? Don’t be afraid to take a risk. You never know what is going to happen until you take that first step. And if you fail, that is ok too. Some of my biggest failures have become my greatest successes. What was your favorite part of our Mode Around The Globe getaway to Banyan Tree Mayakoba? There are two things that I have missed the most while living in a pandemic: traveling and meeting new people. Our getaway to Banyan Tree Mayakoba allowed me to enjoy both of those things for the first time in a long time. Surrounded by inspiring women, sharing stories around the dinner table, enjoying amazing food in the most beautiful setting, I will miss that the most.
