WELCOME to the
ISSUE It is a distinct honor for me to present to you our November issue, which is devoted to stories that empower women. From our Cover Star, Ashley Tisdale who’s work captivates and inspire readers, to a piece on Madeline Stuart, world's first professional model with Down Syndrome, and the notable women and creative visionaries on our Mode Around The Globe Getaways, who all keep with the empowerment theme. In a time when transparency and authenticity are valued more than ever, it seems fitting to celebrate the spirit of women. I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Turkish Airlines and all of the beautiful and gracious people in Turkey who welcomed Modeliste so magnificently in their country as we had the opportunity to explore its vibrant culture, delicious cuisine and breathtaking sites in both cities of Istanbul and Cappadocia. It was an incredibly unique and memorable time. with MONICA SORS What was the best part of the Turkish Airlines experience? I loved the Turkish appetizers they served us and of course flying in business class was amazing. What does it mean to you to be an Influencer? I would say it has a theme. I love to post blue and pink colors and also to add night time photos with flash. Can you describe your YouTube channel/Instagram feed in 3 words? Casual, chic and positive How would you describe yourself in a hashtag?? #ShineAlways :) I repeat always this to my followers. We have to be the best version of ourselves, that’s the key. What is most important to you about being a social media Influencer?? To be true to myself and only get jobs or collaborations if I really believe in them. I have been doing that since day 1 and I think is one of the reasons of still being active in this Industry after 8 years. Tell us about your recent trip to Turkey with Modeliste Mode Around The Globe.? Turkey surprised me a lot!! Istanbul is so crazy, so alive, so full of contrasts… and the locals are so nice. Capadocia is just a postcard, a dream. I definitely want to be back soon and repeat the hot air balloon experience because that was magical. What was your most memorable part of the trip? That one, the hot air balloon. I was nervous and scared at the first moment but it was so beautiful. I need to live again that feeling. What were your favorite places you visited in Turkey? The Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul and Cappadocia. What did you love most about flying Turkish Airlines? Everything was amazing! The food, the comfortable seats and the crew.

What would your travel advice or recommendations be to anyone visiting Turkey? Don’t miss Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar when in Istanbul, if you like strong coffee try Turkish coffee, shop Turkish towels if you like them because they have high quality and are very cheap there (I love them for the beach and for decoration!). You’ll have dream views at Four Seasons Hotel at the Bosphorus and unreal experience at Argos Hotel in Cappadocia. And, definitely, live the hot air balloon experience when in Cappadocia. What would you call your style? Casual chic. I love to dress in a trendy way but I do not consider myself as a fashion victim. If you read this, let me know what do you think on my Instagram @monicasors because sometimes is not easy to describe yourself, you know… Out of all the fashionable people on the planet, who is your fashion icon? Olivia Palermo Which Influencer/YouTuber Inspires you? Chiara Ferragni. I’ve followed her since the beginning, I even shared a photo shoot with her once. I feel so proud of her and I admire her business sense and that she is a really nice person that deserves all the good things happening in her life. In a world without social media, what would you imagine yourself doing with your life? Running a fashion magazine! How do you usually start your days? With a green or red tea and posting the blog post of the day. What are 3 things that you cannot live without? If it’s only about “things”: lip balm, tea and my phone just to listen my music ;)
What makes you laugh? My husband, he is the best making me laugh! And I need that a lot to disconnect of my crazy days. Then I enjoy some funny shows as “Big Bang Theory” or “Two and a Half Men.” What’s your go-to beauty look right now? I use SPF 50+ cream with color everyday and then I apply some mattifying powder, bronzer powder, highlighter, lip balm and mascara, that's all for a normal day! What’s one beauty secret that you’re willing to share with us? I am working on something new for fall and i can't wait to share it with all of you! Matte or gloss? Matte skin but illuminating certain areas. For lips, it depends on the day. Strong Lip or strong eye? Eye Favorite lip color? Nude. Favorite Pixi product? Now I’m so addicted to Glow Tonic lotion. What did you love most about Kabeah Perfume’s new line of fragrances? They are sweet and fresh and the bottle is so beautiful. What was your go-to Giovanni hair product? Blackberry & Coconut Milk Repairing Intensive Hair Mask. I do highlights in my hair so I need a lot of nutrition and this mask is really making a difference in my hair. What’s your secret to a killer photograph? To keep it funny and natural. Which person’s closet would you most like to raid? Gigi Hadid Favorite designer? Karl Lagerfeld, he is the boss. And I admire my sister, who has recently launched her first collection @laurasorscollection. Favorite fashion trend this season? White boots Who is the one person who’s blowing your mind right now? Negin Mirsalehi. Obsessed with her hair and the way she is running her business.

What is your favorite midnight snack food? Hot chocolate What are you binging on Netflix these days? Nothing because this fashion month has been so crazy with no free time! If you could make a cameo in any film or television show, what would it be? I wish it was Friends but it’s not possible anymore! I don’t know, that would be really fun if that were to happen someday… I think that if I was attracted to a role, I would do it. What actress would you want to play you in a movie? Maybe Kate Winslet. I’m a very emotional person and a big dreamer. I imagine her to play me really well. What is the bravest thing you've ever done? I don’t know. Maybe it was to left the University and everything to take care of my mom who was ill… but the next year I started again in a different University and of course I finished my Bachelor of Business Administration and after that a couple of Master Degrees. What do your fans mean to you? EVERYTHING! I try to answer as much comments as I can and take care of them. What are your favorite comments to receive? Those that are not only saying how beautiful I am ;) I love hearing true opinions and thoughts. We are here to share different points of view so… If you could say anything to your fans right now, what would you say? THANKS! And thanks again. Understanding that with the power to influence comes responsibility. Tell us about your recent trip to Turkey with Modeliste Mode Around The Globe.? My sister and I were very lucky to start our trip in Turkish Airlines Business Class. We arrived rested and in great spirits. The next few days were super busy and we tried a bunch of amazing restaurants and visited so many mosques, bazaars, rug shops and more. Next we got to visit Cappadocia and that was simply magical. Riding in a hot air balloon over the caves as the sun rose and also shooting at the Museum Hotel as the balloons went up the next day was out of this world. We continued to try more enticing restaurants and visit more cool places. We were sad to leave but flying back in Business Class again however made for a sweet ending. What was your most memorable part of the trip? The morning we woke up for the hot air balloons view at the Museum Hotel!! Also, the sunset in Red Valley! It was too stunning! And the super delicious Mezza plate at the Four Seasons Hotel Sultanahmet. What were your favorite places you visited in Turkey? Cappadocia as a whole was incredible… The Four Seasons Hotels and the Grand Bazaar was so unique and fun.

What did you love most about flying Turkish Airlines? The service was lovely, I got excellent sleep and the food of course was wonderful! What was the best part of of the Turkish Airlines experience? Everything! What would your travel advice or recommendations be to anyone visiting Turkey? Wear whatever you want and be prepared to eat a lot of good food! Make time to visit all the amazing places in Turkey! What would you call your style? Feminine, classy, modern and on trend. Out of all the fashionable people on the planet, who is your fashion icon? Audrey Hepburn and Gigi Hadid Which Influencer/YouTuber Inspires you? So many! @sincerelyjules inspires me to be more artistic, @cmcoving inspires me to be more productive, @ thefashionfraction inspires me to be more EXTRA, @pamela_rf inspires me to eat better and workout. In a world without social media, what would you imagine yourself doing with your life? I imagine I would be doing what I always planned on back when I was in school.. I would have gone to an ad agency in the city and worked as a creative director! How do you usually start your days? I take it easy and make some California avocado toast. I always have to start my day with a good breakfast. Then I decide if I have to get ready right away to go out and about or if I am going to spend the day on the computer. What are 3 things that you cannot live without? Other than the realistic things like water, food and sleep? My phone, makeup and online shopping. What makes you laugh? My boyfriend, memes, and funny videos.

Cottage cheese… not because I like how it tastes (I don’t) but because it settles my blood sugar and also has a chemical in it which helps me sleep better. What are you binging on Netflix these days? I just watched Maniac! That was hard to get into but I ended up thinking the show was pretty good. I’m just waiting for Stranger Things though!!

If you could make a cameo in any film or television show, what would it be? I think it would be cool to be in Game of Thrones but they don’t have Asians in that show haha! What actress would you want to play you in a movie? Shay Mitchell What is the bravest thing you've ever done? I’m not sure about bravest, but I felt like a hero one time on New Years Eve when I was on my way to go out for the evening and I saw a chihuahua running down the street in my old neighborhood and I slowly followed it in my car as it ran as fast it’s little legs could about a mile… I cornered it under someone’s boat (they had a boat in their driveway) and I “saved” the chihuahua. The owner was so happy she cried!! What do your fans mean to you? My fans are so important to me! What are your favorite comments to receive? Thoughtful comments. If you could say anything to your fans right now, what would you say? I would say thank you for following me and I love you guys :) I wouldn’t be where I am today without you all. It probably sounds cliche but I mean it. Do you have any upcoming projects you can tell us about? Project Fall and Winter! It was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. I could not thank Modeliste enough for letting me be a part of this. I think Turkey is my favorite place ever!!! I was so inspired. What was your most memorable part of the trip? Walking through the Bazaar and also the Hot air balloons. It was breathtaking. What were your favorite places you visited in Turkey? Cappadocia for sure, it was such a beautiful place and I think it should be on the top of anyone's bucket list. It shows you how amazing the world can be because it is filled with unique places. What did you love most about flying Turkish Airlines? Amazing service and such comfortable seats. I also loved that we were given turkish food, which could also be my favorite food. What does it mean to you to be an Influencer? It means to share my view of life and creativity and connect with so many people that share the same views and inspiration. What is the bravest thing you've ever done? Sharing about my experience on moving in spanish on a video. It was a bit hard for me because I went through a lot, but it was worth it. What inspired you to become an Influencer? I’ve always loved taking pictures to remember memories & jobs ect. So when I found out about instagram I immediately started posting everyday just to remember my journey! Can you describe your YouTube channel/feed in 3 words? If I had to describe my youtube channel in 3 words I would say music, dance and random things! How would you describe yourself in 3 words? I would describe myself as Independent, Hard working & Cuddly! How would your friends describe you in 3 words? Hmmm that’s a hard one. But I would have to say Helpful, Funny & Adventurous! What is the biggest inspiration in creating your channel and Instagram feed? I’m not the type of instagrammer that has a feed.. I find that for myself and my fan base just to post more unedited, natural photos is best. Whatever I’m doing I post about it. What’s the best part about your job? The best part about my job is just that it’s fun!! I get to record music, perform, and creative awesome videos for my fans. My favorite part is talking with my fans in DM's and going live to share my day! Every day is different with a new adventure right around the corner. One day I will be in the recording studio and the next I could be on set filming. What is the most difficult part about your job? There really is no downside to what I do.. Most people get really offended by hate comments and I see why it would be hard but it’s nothing that you can’t overcome! What’s most important to you? What’s most important to me is to be sure I’m always staying true to myself. I don’t wanna change for anyone, no matter how big or small I am.

Do you have any upcoming projects you can tell us about? I have been in the recording studio working on my EP! I’m really excited to share my new songs with everyone and we are planning a tour in 2019 and I can’t wait to meet all of my fans. What can we expect to see in your upcoming posts? A lot of music and travel. In a world without social media, what would you imagine yourself doing with your life? I just graduated high school this year so I would image that I would be going on to college to pursue a degree in music, dance or fashion. What’s something you wish Influencers, Bloggers or YouTubers would stop saying? I really wish that everyone would just stay in their own lane and not try to take others down by disrespecting them or comparing people to others. What’s the best thing you’ve ever worn? I was recently in NYC for a press tour and a concert and my stylist hooked me up with an amazing Versace outfit. I felt like a boss! What’s your biggest splurge? Definitely shoes and backpacks. Anything from Gucci and the Supreme line. What is your go-to piece of clothing? I love being warm so for sure it would be leggings and a hoodie. Favorite fashion trend for Fall? I would have to say beanies and my Doc Martens. What’s one fashion trend you hope will never go away? Honestly I’d say socks and sandals. What’s the worst trend you ever got sucked into wearing? Ughhhh I was not a fan of camouflage pants but I had to wear them for a photo shoot :/ Describe your daily skincare routine? For my daily skincare routine all I need is my face lotion!! I loved getting to know and work with the other models and the Marriott was breathtaking. The views were spectacular and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Two things I always have in my carry on is my Laptop & Wallet!! #1 on your bucket list? I want to travel the world once my EP comes out next year!!! What brings you the most joy in life? What brings me the most joy in life is My fans, Family & music. I can’t go a day without it/them! What is something you would like to say to your fans? I love my fans so much!! How would you describe yourself in 1 word? Passionate How would your friends describe you in 3 words? Haha I actually asked a few of my best friends and they all said this: Determined Stubborn Adventurous What is the biggest inspiration in creating your channel and Instagram feed? Travel and fashion and bonding the two together. What’s the best part about your job? Well, it's trying to travel and at the time work full time remotely for my Social media marketing agency. There's only so many hours in a day, so sometimes this gets a little challenging. What’s most important to you? Being present in my life. In the end social media is a massive part of my life but being present with my friends and family and being in the moment, is what really matters. Do you have any upcoming projects you can tell us about? Yes, actually I’m involved in a really cool documentary about social media influencers and social media in today's society. This should be airing on Netflix next year ;-) Other than that, I'm traveling to a few amazing places before Christmas. What can we expect to see in your upcoming posts? What’s the best thing you’ve ever worn? Arghhh ok, I wore a Pallas Couture vintage dress for an event last year and it was amazing. What’s your biggest splurge? I splurged on some Chloe boots last year -LOVE THEM. What is your go-to piece of clothing? Black ripped jeans and a white tee with my Chloe boots. Favorite fashion trend for Fall? Cute Oversized sweaters and french caps. What’s the worst trend you ever got sucked into wearing? OMG I had a bandage dress moment 4 years ago. I can't come back from it haha. Describe your daily skincare routine? Cleanse exfoliate and moisturize, followed by a day serum. Night Time is super simple, I use glycolic acid wipes to wipe off my makeup and then an active serum. If you could say anything to your fans right now, what would you say? I would say thank you for following my journey and for all the support along the way. I’d ask that they continue to support me through spreading my message of diversity and inclusion because it’s such an important one! When did you begin modeling? I began modeling over 3 years ago now, my first shoot was in April 2015. What inspired you to become a model? My mum took me to a fashion show in Brisbane, my home town, and I fell in love! The models on the catwalk looked so happy and confident. They looked like they were having so much fun, I knew I wanted to be up on the catwalk. How does it feel to be the world's first professional model with Down Syndrome? I feel incredibly proud but also very grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given to be able to advocate for others and promote diversity within the industry. I am happy that for the most part the modeling word has opened their hearts to me and my journey and I hope it has encouraged them to allow others to follow in my footsteps. What advice do you have for others wanting to get into the modeling industry? My best advice would be to work hard! It is a very tough industry and you will face a lot of rejection so be prepared for that. The rejection can be disheartening but always pick yourself back up and try harder and you will get there. What were your favorite fashion shows to walk in this season? I loved doing my own label as all of my models got to be sassy on the catwalk but by far my favourite was London walking for the Swedish school of Textiles through Fashion Scout and Colleen Morris with Fashions Finest. I love the fact I am slowly breaking into the European market. What’s the most memorable career moment that you’ve had so far? My most memorable career moment was my first show at NYFW in my very first season. The experience was so surreal and I will never forget how I felt in the moment! What is your favorite part about walking on the runway? I feel so at home when I’m on the runway and that is my favourite part, I am excited, happy and proud all at the same time and it’s always an incredible experience. How would you describe your personal style? Chic, fun, sassy, I love clothes and I also like to change my style quite often. How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Kind, sassy and passionate. What’s something only a few people know about you? If I tell you that then everyone will know my secrets lol. Actually, I am a real adrenaline junkie and a bit of a tomboy. I love to kick a footy around and throw some hoops. What is something you would like people to know about you? That I want to be taken seriously, I want to work hard and I want to represent myself the best way I can. What words do you live by? Always be kind! – People who are kind are my favourite type of people, kindness is what makes you beautiful. Best advice you ever received? To never give up and always believe in myself, my mum gives me the best advice all the time, I can’t just pick one! What makes you laugh? Life makes me laugh! Life is always fun and I’m always happy to be living my life so I feel like I laugh a lot. I am also Australian so it is in my nature to give someone a hard time and to laugh at myself. Which person’s closet would you most like to raid? Ariana Grande, Serayah and Lady Gaga as we are similar in height and they have so much style.
Must-have beauty product? Good shampoo and conditioner! I love to look after my hair and a good shampoo and conditioner is an important step to healthy hair. Favorite food? Grilled Chicken wrap, I have one every day for lunch, I cannot live without them. What is the emoji that best describes how you’re feeling right now? Always spreading the love! What do you most hope for in the future? I hope to keep advocating for more diversity in the fashion industry. It has come a long way but still has room to improve and I want to keep contributing to that.

THE FOUNDER // KHEDIJA BEN AYED We all have within ourselves the seeds of our dreams. Like real seeds carried away by wind or birds, our dreams will eventually grow from the seeds and blossom - at the mercy or chance and fate ... pushed by a strong desire. Khedija carries the seed of Perfume. Growing up in the in the Meditcrrancan region, she flourished in her grandmother's jasmine-filled garden as well as in her mother's garden. As an adult, she relocated to Paris to follow a Business School preparation course and later completed a Master's Degree in Fashion Promotion and Communication. However, her deeply-rooted dream never faltered. She only felt fulfilled when surrounded by the wonderful scents found in what she calls her Secret Garden. Understanding her profound love of perfumes, her father encouraged her to launch her own fragrance line. Therefore, in the summer of 2016, Khcdija traveled to Grasse, France. There, she began an internship where she learned everything about fragrance compounds and the art or composing a perfume. THE NEW NO-KNIFE Tummy-Lift
Is the latest minimally invasive threading procedure truly a game changer or another antiaging fad?

T
he high demand for minimally invasive options to rejuvenate and get you to look just the way you feel have changed the aesthetic culture. Patients are looking for minimal down-time and less expensive treatment alternatives to achieve their beauty goals. The latest beauty innovation is a thread lift. Modeliste decided to put the procedure to the test and as a beauty editor I volunteered to have the procedure done with Board Certified Dermatologist Dr. William Schweitzer. With a busy work schedule and two amazing and full of energy children, my free time is almost non-existent. When I heard of The Thread Lift procedure and how there was minimal down time, I decided it was time for me to do something about my problem area and so I did. I met with Dr. Schweitzer for a consultation to ensure that I was a good candidate for the procedure. I discussed with him that although I keep a healthy weight and exercise regularly, the skin on my abdomen looks loose and flabby. Living in Southern California the beach is a popular and fun destination to take the kids and meet up with friends. Wearing a bikini and showing off my loose skin is not quite the look I am going for! Fortunately for me, The Thread Lift would be a good option to give me back a smooth tummy. Dr. Schweitzer explained in length The Thread Lift procedure and how I could benefit from it. The process involves inserting a needle preloaded with a barbed thread that will ultimately lift the skin for a taut and smooth surface. “These threads are not like threads used by a tailor! They are made of surgical suture material which has been utilized in surgical procedures for many years but now they have a new application” Dr. Schweitzer noted. He utilizes Nova PDO (Polydioxanone) Threads which are a synthetic surgical suture which will fully be absorbed by the body within 4-6 months after application. Dr. Schweitzer added that “while the threads are in place, your skin will be repairing itself by promoting collagen around the thread which will secure the lifted skin and help it remain uplifted even after the threads are absorbed.”

This innovative procedure is not meant to replace plastic surgery as some patients may not be a good candidate due to severe skin laxity but it is definitely a good option for busy people like me looking to have a quick boost without any recovery time. Although The Thread Lift can improve different areas on the body it is most commonly performed in areas such as the lower face and neck to reposition skin for a more uplifted and rejuvenated look. This new treatment is a fabulous addition to the armamentarium of non-surgical procedures and as Dr. Schweitzer explained “The Thread Lift is not a replacement for neuromodulators such as Dysport and Botox which are meant to relax expression muscles or fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm which add volume. AFTER There was really no prep for me to do before the procedure. Dr. Schweitzer thoroughly cleaned the area and proceeded to mark were the threads would be placed. Lidocaine was injected before each thread was inserted which made the procedure absolutely comfortable. After about an hour all the threads had been inserted and I felt barely anything. Turkish Airlines new, elegant cabin crew uniforms bring style to the skies In celebration of 85 successful years, Turkish Airlines unveiled a fresh look with a new uniform specially designed for its cabin crew. The new uniforms will rollout following the opening of the Istanbul New Airport, the “new home” of Turkey’s flag carrier airline. Inspired by many classic elements of Turkish design and culture, the new uniforms incorporate traditional patterns found in artisanal glassware, ceramics, and calligraphy with contemporary textures and details. The collection combines shapes and colors found in Istanbul’s Bosphorus with a ‘flow detail’ created to symbolize the effortless and dynamic energy of Turkey’s most vibrant city as an intersection between East and West.
