Welcome to 2023
As this issue goes to print, we are well and truly in the festive season. Deadlines, parties, running on adrenaline to get to the finish line—I’ve forgotten how much I love the end-of-year buzz and festive holiday celebrations which follow.
This year Modeliste was fortunate enough to immerse ourselves once again in overseas travels, taking us to destinations such as Bali (see our favorite hotels in our Ultimate Bali Guide), Turkey, Morocco, France, Tanzania, Kenya, Antigua, Belize, Curacao, The Hamptions, Mexico and Panama. These were all moments to savour the power and creativity of storytelling through different mediums, cultures, landscapes, cuisine, and art through the lenses, empowering and inspiring women.
In 2023, we hope to continue to bring you more awe-inspiring stories from around the world in celebration of each of our own creative uniqueness and significance standing on a global stage.
From myself and the Modeliste team, here’s to taking some precious time out with loved ones to relax, reset and recharge for the year ahead.

DIARIES
BRUNA LÍRIO
Where were you born and where do you currently live?
I was born in Brazil in a small state called Espírito Santo and I currently live in Los Angeles, California.
How did you begin your modeling career?
I started modeling when I was 16 years old after I was discovered by my mother agent in a mall in my hometown. I did some modeling jobs shortly after and then left Brazil to start my international career.
What’s your favorite time of day? Definitely the sunset!
What’s your biggest strength?
I think my biggest strength is that I can get my work done even in the face of difficult obstacles without letting anyone know that something else is happening in my life.
What’s the biggest learning experience you’ve had?
I’ve learned that everything comes at the right time, you just need to be patient.
What are you most excited about for 2023?
I’m excited for the projects I have with my personal life and my modeling career.
What are your top 3 New Year's resolutions?
Focus on my mental health, be happy and to spend more time with family/friends.
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
“You have no idea how happy and comfortable you make people feel around you.”
Sweet or savory? Savory.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
Where I really come from. I feel like people always have something to say about Brazil based on things that they see on the internet!
Heels or flats or sneakers?
A little bit of everything, but sneakers are my favorite.
What are the three things you can’t live without?
Deodorant, sunscreen and my phone (only because of my family/work).
What’s your current favorite piece of clothing that you own?
It’s not a piece of clothing but I love my Valentino loafers and it’s what I wear the most!
What’s a must-have clothing item everyone should own?
I think everyone should own a pair of boyfriend jeans, super easy and goes with everything.
Must-Have Beauty Products? Concealer, blush and mascara.
Skincare routine?
My skincare routine is very simple: in the morning I wash my face only with water followed by a face moisturizer and sunscreen, that is all. I don’t like to do too much because my skin is very sensitive, so I always do as little as I can.
What’s heavily played on your music playlist right now?
Brazilian Funk for sure.
What book did you most recently finish?
I haven’t finished reading this one yet, but I really like “Home Body” by Rupi Kaur.
How do you start your day?
I always start my day by taking a shower, listening to songs that I love like Brazilian Bossa Nova. It makes me relax!
Any upcoming projects you can tell us about?
I’ll keep you guys curious for now!
What would you like to say to your fans? Don’t let people tell you that you’re never going to make it because we’re all capable of doing anything we want to.
Why are you most excited to be our next Cover Star?
I’m so excited because this is my first cover of 2023 and I can’t wait to see it!
SPOTLIGHT MODELISTE
LINDA RODIN
HI STYLIN'
By Beatriz ZimmermannRemember the cool girl in class who was always miles ahead of everyone else when it came to style and smarts? Well, that girl grew up to be Linda Rodin.
In this age of hyperbole, the word iconic is often tossed around but make no mistake, this is the real deal. You could say that Linda Rodin has led many lives – model, photographer, entrepreneur and stylist for 35 years for publications like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar – but that would still be scratching the surface.
She is the creator of cult beauty products and the star of many a mood board. Beloved for her mix of joie de vivre and disarming realness, there’s also something utterly prescient about Linda Rodin’s powers. A consummate New Yorker, Rodin was the first to open a clothing shop in Soho back in the seventies when it was essentially the wild west and roamed only by struggling artists. There, Rodin created a stunning little shop that carried her own designs along with a little Calvin Klein and Norma Kamali mixed in. Other firsts? She’s the creator of Rodin Olio Lusso, the coveted and cult favorite facial oil long before oils were ever “a thing.”
Now, Rodin comes full circle with fashion as she debuts Linda Hopp – her own line of denim to tap her denim-wearing ways and savvy long before denim became a serious style staple. Linda Rodin is still ahead of the pack and you’d be wise to follow.
How would you describe your idea of great style?
Style isn’t so much about the clothes you wear but what you project in your clothes –and that doesn’t have a lot to do with wearing the best suit or the hippest outfit. It doesn’t even have to be about clothes; it could just be how you live, how you come across and what’s personal to you. Feeling comfortable in your own skin is stylish.
You’ve worked as a stylist for 35 years. Any style lessons or secrets you could share?
Style can come simply through osmosis and by just absorbing what’s around you so you can then project your own take on it. It always comes from inside . Also, don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and just be open. Sometimes we get an idea that a certain style or color isn’t for us but just try and you might be surprised. Have the confidence to be a little more daring. It doesn’t hurt to just try something on – you can always take it off!
Can someone learn to be stylish – or do you think you’re born with it?
I’m not sure but there may be something to style being in your DNA. My mother, my aunt and my grandmother all had style. Looking at old photos I see my mother looked like a million bucks and it had nothing to do with money. Dressing was definitely a thoughtful act though. Growing up, you wanted to wear your best for occasions and you were conscious of it –but you don’t want to overthink it either.
Growing up, who were your influences when it came to style and creativity?
My mother. She was an interior decorator and had such amazing creative energy. She was always taking classes – art classes and classes of all kinds, going to museums, swapping out wallpaper overnight and just bringing a creative flair to everything she did.
Over the years denim has attained solid style cred along with classics like a good trench and the little black dress. You’ve been a denim fan long before it became such a huge subject. What is it about denim and why did you want to create your own denim line?
I’ve always lived in denim – since I was a kid and riding around on my bike. I’ve always loved my Levi’s 501s and vintage denim. I used to be able to find them in my size at flea markets but it’s impossible now so my collection is down to one. It’s just always been denim for me – it’s my go-to fabric and I’ll buy it in any incarnation. A friend suggested I start a denim line and I thought, why not? But all my denim has a twist – it’s stuff I would buy for myself in a heartbeat.
Your collection is highly curated. What was your process for selecting the pieces in your line?
It’s simple and might sound self-serving but I wanted to create pieces I would love to wear myself! Nothing “extra” or superfluous. Of course, a great 5-pocket jean with a turned up cuff and some gingham for an added touch – and I had to have bell bottoms because I’m a product of the 60s. There’s also the quintessential denim shirt and a long skirt with a train that you can tie up in the back. It’s kind of dramatic and charming. We also have a jean jacket that’s not the traditional – it has a zipper and big cuffs.
What’s the inspiration for the Linda Hopp name?
That’s what my Soho shop was called back in the late seventies. Using my real name felt pretentious back then and Linda Hopp was a nickname I was given by the brilliant Swedish photographer, Gosta Peterson. I was his assistant back when I wanted to be a photographer. He was the best mentor and teacher. I learned so much. I like the name. I think it’s catchy.
Designers you like/follow?
I’ve always loved Dries van Noten and Commes des Garçon. I also love Molly Goddard. But ever since my beloved Barneys closed in my neighborhood, I’m not as up on new designers. Winky and I used to visit Barney’s all the time (Winky, Linda’s dog and favorite companion, is an Instagram celeb himself).
Words you live by?
Always be the best you can be. My father taught me that and it’s been with me forever. It’s a blessing and a curse because I’m a perfectionist!
You’re such a great New Yorker. Any particular shops you’re especially fond of right now?
I love books and can spend hours looking at them. There’s a book and art space on west 13th street called, Cara. I love it there. There’s also a quirky Japanese store I like to visit on the lower east side called, Bungee Space. They have clothes and books.
Your desert island music and beauty products?
Music is eclectic. Everything from Mozart and Chopin to great jazz like Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and early Sinatra. Bob Dylan, of course. Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young. And I like Billie Eilish. For beauty products, my own Rodin Olio Lusso Face Oil – I’ve got my own persona stash though it’s dwindling so I use it sparingly now!
If you could snap your fingers and be anywhere right now, where would that be?
Probably Rome – I used to live in Italy – or maybe a beach in Brazil. I love seashells and collect them.
Quality you like most about yourself? I’m honest and pretty straightforward.
We all know age is just a number and the real trick is having the right mindset and attitude. You seem to have that down. How do you stay young?
Do what you want! I don’t mean be selfish or anything but do the things you really want to do and don’t feel pressured or swept up into what you think you’re supposed to enjoy. My work is really inspiring and collaborative but at the end of the day I love to be alone and I’m not big on socializing. I’m invited to lots of events and parties but I’d rather read, watch my favorite movies and I make sure to get enough sleep and eat well. For me, it’s about balance and knowing where my spirit feels best.

EYEBROW TRENDS that will rule 2023
From the extreme brow lamination to barely there brows, Jamie Long, Lead Brow Stylist at HD Brows has rounded up the most fabulous and most wearable brow trends you’ll be seeing everywhere in 2023.
2. Brow Lamination
947 Million TikTok Views
A sharp contrast to the 90’s thin brow trend, the latest trend in brow artistry making its way into 2023 is seeing brows taking a thicker, feathery look with brow laminations.
As seen on Dua Lipa, Zendaya and Gigi Hadid, fluffy brows (aka brow lamination) searches are up by 56% on Pinterest since Isamaya Ffrench took the brushed up brows to the extreme and made sure all eyes were firmly on the eyebrows in London Fashion Week’s Poster Girl Spring 2023 show.
1. Bleached Brows
136.8 Million TikTok Views
What has been arguably the biggest brow trend seen on the red carpets and runways of 2022, bleached brows have taken the world by storm.
Pinterest searches for bleached eyebrows are up 246% since the start of the year, as well as a massive 136 million TikTok views for the trend, and key pop culture beauty moments including Kendall Jenner debuting platinum blonde brows at the 2022 Met Gala, this look is delightfully haute couture.
Lead Brow Stylist at HD Brows, Jamie Long, says, “a more wearable day to day look is bleaching the brows to lift them just a few shades. This is widely used in the brow world to help match a client's brows to their hair colour or alternatively give a softer look to their brows.”
Whether you rock a completely bleached out brow or have your brows lifted by just a few shades – it’s safe to say that the barely there brow trend is going nowhere in 2023.
Nothing is a trend until it’s trending on TikTok, and fluffy brows are stealing the spotlight with ‘#browlamination’ sporting 947 million TikTok views, and ‘#soapbrows’ being viewed over 269 million times.
For a more natural look, however, Jamie Long says: “If you have unruly, flat or downward growing hairs, eyebrow lamination can change the direction of growth to create a more uniform look with a higher arch and a more desirable brow shape. Brow lamination lasts 4 to 6 weeks generally, with proper care allowing the brow treatment to last as long as 8 weeks.
3. Thin Brows
86.3 Million TikTok Views
If you were a teenager of the 90’s or noughties, you might find this one a bit controversial as bushy brows have taken over the last decade, with millennials barely getting over the trauma of overplucked brows. However, the skinny 90’s brow look is truly back for 2022 and isn’t going anywhere, with Pinterest searches up 94% since the beginning of the year and 86.3 million TikTok views for the trend.
We’ve spotted many celebs taking this trend for a spin, from Bella Hadid, Euphoria’s Alexa Demie, and Lily James in her role as Pamela Anderson. If you want to give this trend a try, we’d recommend staying away from the tweezers and heading to a professional.
Jamie Long says, “The best way to create the illusion of this extraslim brow is by drawing a thin line on the inside of the brow. Then using a spoolie brush, brush gel along the brow combining the hairs together to create a thinner more defined look. Products such as Browtec can help you achieve this look, as it has a thin eyebrow pencil and spoolie in one pencil.
4. Natural Brows
55.2 Million TikTok
Views
Natural beauty has made a comeback in 2022 with more toneddown looks becoming more desirable by the day - great news for those of us long overdue a trip to the salon. So, if you’re looking for a low-maintenance brow style to have throughout 2023, this minimalist look is super easy to create.
Jamie Long says, “To achieve this low-maintenance look, use a fine, sharpened eyebrow pencil and create thin, feathery strokes in the gaps of the brows to create the illusion of hair. Then using a spoolie, repeatedly brush the colour into the brows in an upward motion to blend the colour, until it looks natural.”
Ariana Grande
5. Straight Brows
14.3 Million TikTok Views
The ‘Audrey Hepburn’ brow is back in business, with celebrities such as Ariana Grande being seen rocking the bold, archless brow. 2023 will see us embracing the much fuller, darker brows in a soft shape, adding a modern twist to a classic brow look. The trend has seen 14.3 million views on TikTok, and has seen a 93% increase in searches on Pinterest since mid-year.
Jamie Long says: “When people refer to the classic Audrey Hepburn brow, it’s typically the brow look from her 1954 movie, Sabrina.”
“Many celebs have recreated the look, from Meghan Markle to Lily Collins and now Ariana. If you have big eyes and dark hair, you can pull this look off.
“The tail of the brow is lifted slightly to open up the eyes and lift the face, which keeps the eyes looking youthful and fresh. It’s a brow style that is universally flattering.”
6. Microblading
2.7 Billion TikTok Views
Meghan Markle
We aren’t all blessed with brows as naturally shapely as Cara Delivigne or Lily Collins, so opting for the microblading treatment is the next step to achieving the salon brow look, and this will continue into 2023.
With a massive 2.7 billion (Yes, billion) TikTok views, eyebrow tattoos aka microblading has saved the need for time consuming, everyday brow filling, and Pinterest searches for eyebrow tattoos are up 87% since the start of the month, as well as being up 22% for the term ‘microblading’.
Celebs that have hopped on the microblading trend include Rihanna, Adele, and Angelina Jolie. Jamie recommends not to try this at home, as there is potential to cause permanent scarring and pigment migration, so always make sure you’re being treated by a professional.
7. Rainbow Brows
1.3 Million TikTok Views
You didn’t think that OTT brows would die down, did you? The colourful brow trend isn’t for everyone, but it is something we’ll be seeing much more of in 2023. The trend is on the rise with 1.3 million TikTok views as people are becoming more adventurous with their beauty looks.
Jamie Long says: “If you’re brave enough to go bold with your colours, it can really brighten up your face, and works with any makeup look. Celebrities like singer-songwriter Lizzo have also been seen opting for pink brows, with model and actress Cara Delevingne choosing bright blue brows.”
If you’ve got naturally light brows, this look can easily be achieved by using colourful mascara to fill in the brows with your desired colour. Alternatively, if you’ve got darker brows, you’ll probably need to use a coloured dye to achieve the look. Again, Jamie recommends heading to a professional when using dye.

MODELISTE
MODELISTE MUSE ASHTON WOOD
When did you start your career as a content creator/social media influencer?
I started to build my following organically as a hobby while I was at University in 2014 and by 2018 I quit my job and became a full-time content creator and loved every minute of it.
Do you have any advice for young women who are hoping to pursue a career as a content creator/social media influencer? Is there anything you wish you knew before?
Consistency is key. Finding your niche which happens naturally over time when you are being yourself. It could be beauty, makeup, fitness, a mental health advocate, fashion blogger, cooking etc! Enjoy the journey and be creative with it.
What are you most thankful for at this stage in your life?
My Family and friends. I have recently moved to London from Australia and being away from them has been hard but they have supported me and have been my rock through it all.
Do you have any exciting upcoming projects that you can share with our readers?
I currently have a podcast with my best friend and we are working on growing and expanding the business. We have merchandise coming soon and even some love shows in the works!
City getaway or island getaway? Island for sure!!
What was the highlight of your time in Antigua with Modeliste? Any funny stories you would like to share? Everyday was INCREDIBLE. It is really hard to pick one moment to highlight… The boat day was beyond amazing, you can’t beat beach hopping, swimming in the ocean, eating lunch on the beach and being in the sun. Not to mention the girls I met on the trip will be friends for life!
Where do you see yourself in ten years? Well… in 10 years I will be 39 (that’s crazy) so hopefully I’ll be married with kids, content with my career, surrounded by family and at peace with life! I am such a big kid at heart so I hope to never lose that and always Oui to life as my mum and I say!
Any current trends you will NEVER partake in? If so, which trends? Bleaching my eyebrows… I don’t think I could pull that one off haha!
What is your current skincare routine for winter? Do you have any favorite products we must try?
I got a little sun kissed from Antigua and my face started to peel so I used the IMAGE skincare sheet mask and it hasn’t peeled since, it left my skin GLOWING! In winter, I make sure to use extra hydrating and brightening products that include ingredients like hyaluronic acid, shea butter, ceramides and vitamin C. I also switch from glycolic acid to lactic acid during winter since it is deeply highly hydrating while lightly exfoliating.
If you weren’t in social media, what would you want to be doing for work?
I was in acting school and worked as an extra in some films on the Gold Coast in 2011, so I might have pursued that more. I also studied journalism at University in 2014, so I would also have been working in that field too. However, I found a love for nutrition and naturopathy in 2016 when I had gut issues and learned a lot about health and wellness so I would like to explore that more one day!
What makes you feel most confident? When I have been in the sun & sea for three reasons:
1.I get sun kissed and glory.
2. I get a boost of serotonin.
3. I feel energized and clear. So basically, when I am happy, I feel the most confident!
If you only could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I love sushi and matcha with all my heart!
Choose one place in the world you have always wanted to visit but haven’t. Japan!
What would you like to say to your fans/ followers?
Thank you to each and every one of you who has supported me and followed my journey!
I wouldn’t be able to do this as my job if it wasn’t for you. I love connecting with you all and I feel so blessed to have such sweet human beings following me!
MODELISTE MUSE CAITLIN LAWSON

I started in March 2020.
Do you have any advice for young women who are hoping to pursue a career as a content creator/social media influencer?
Is there anything you wish you knew before?
Have fun with it! Try not to think about the numbers and making money from it.
My intention when starting was just having fun and bringing out my creativity and it naturally turned into what I do now.
What are you most thankful for at this stage in your life?
I’m most thankful for my family at this stage of my life.
Do you have any exciting upcoming projects that you can share with our readers?
I have an exciting partnership with Dior beauty coming soon!
City getaway or island getaway? Island getaway.
What was the highlight of your time in Antigua with Modeliste?
The highlight was the boat day we all had! The most beautiful beaches in the whole world!
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I see myself with a family and hopefully inspiring others with my creativity and projects. I would also love to own a brand one day!
How do you balance your work life and your personal life?
This is one I’m still working on. This career path is non-stop and I feel like I’m never not working. I’m constantly thinking of the next idea, but I really try to unwind at night.
Any current trends you will NEVER partake in? If so, which trends?
Never say no to a trend. You never know where it’ll take you!
What is your current skincare routine for winter? Do you have any favorite products we must try?
A good moisturizer and oil for nighttime! I love the Tatcha dewy skin cream and the Elemis oil! My perfect skin combo.
If you weren’t in social media, what would you want to be doing for work?
Definitely still in the beauty space, maybe an esthetician or doing social media for beauty brands!
What makes you feel most confident? When I’m on set getting glammed up or glamming myself up!
If you only could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Sushi! Hands down!
Choose one place in the world you have always wanted to visit but haven’t. Tokyo is at the top of my bucket list!
What would you like to say to your fans/ followers?
I’m so entirely grateful for all the love and support. I wouldn’t be doing any of these things without you all! I love you!
ISABELLE HEIKENS
MODELISTE MUSE ISABELLE HEIKENS
When did you start your career as a content creator/social media influencer?
In my last year of undergraduate studies in 2021 all the universities in Ontario were shut down and everything was online only. Since I wasn't stuck in a lease, I decided to move home to live with my mom to save money. My friends however, were all stuck in their leases and went back to their university towns. Even though my mom is my best friend, I found myself back home with nobody my age around. I missed getting dressed up to go out and do things so I decided to start sharing the outfits I wanted to wear online. At the same time, I thought it would be a fun idea to document on TikTok what it is like growing a social media from nothing and how I was trying to do it. This ended up being what resonated with people and helped me grow a following on TikTok, w hich turned into a following on Instagram. My goal was always 10k followers, I never even dreamed I would come close to where I am today.
Do you have any advice for young women who are hoping to pursue a career as a content creator/social media influencer? Is there anything you wish you knew before?
The hardest part, at least for me, is overthinking what to post. You just need to start. It is so easy to get caught up in brainstorming content ideas and think "I will wait until things have slowed down at work/school" or "I will wait until the weather is better to shoot content" etc. It is great to think ahead and have ideas but you really won't know how things will perform unless you just go for it and start posting consistently! Also, it is also important to know that yes, it is an oversaturated industry. There are endless girls with amazing style, makeup skills, funny personalities, etc. doing this. But you are the only you. Lean into what you love, what you are good at, and show your personality as that is the only way to stand out. There are a ton of people in this industry but also tons of room for new creators.
What are you most thankful for at this stage in your life?
Overall the opportunities that have come from social media and being able to make an income by sharing things that I love! I never thought this would turn into a way I can support myself, it still blows my mind. But also my Mom. She is always supportive, a voice of reason and one of my favorite people to spend time with. It's fun getting a bit older because I have started to realize how similar we are, it feels like she cloned her personality with me.
Do you have any exciting upcoming projects that you can share with our readers?
I am coming out with an e-cookie book for the holidays! In addition to doing fashion content, I also do a lot of cooking and baking tiktoks/reels. It is all recipes I have been making for years so it is a special project for me!
City getaway or island getaway?
Ideally both! I went to Portugal this summer and loved having the balance of the city in Lisbon and the beach in Lagos. Would love to do more trips like that in the south of France, Spain or Croatia.
What was the highlight of your time in Antigua with Modeliste? Any funny stories you would like to share? When we did the boat day a few of the girls got off the boat to walk along the beach. We saw a ton of hermit crabs and were looking at shells and then went swimming. It just felt like a group of girls who had been friends for so long, but we had only known each other less than a day.
Where do you see yourself in ten years? No idea. I am a very type A person, and thought I knew my life plan since high school. Only in the summer of 2022 did I start to realize the opportunities I have in social media, so it all feels new and for the first time I don't know what is next.
How do you balance your work life and your personal life?
I don't, but I really should. Social media is unique because your personal life is your work life. I am always trying to find ways to create content around whatever I am doing, even if it's just for casual Instagram stories. Maybe that will be my New Year's Resolution for 2023.
Any current trends you will NEVER partake in? If so, which trends? Micro mini skirts, and most of the Y2K trends. I am big on practicality, and genuinely wonder if anyone can wear those in public? How do you sit? Go up the stairs?
I don't get it.
What is your current skincare routine for winter? Do you have any favorite products we must try?
I am pretty picky with my skincare, I don't see a difference with a lot of products. But I just started using the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Serum and Magic Cream and it is the first time I have seen a huge difference in my skin! It feels so glowy and moisturized when I use those!
If you weren’t in social media, what would you want to be doing for work?
I studied Biological and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in undergrad and started a Doctor of Pharmacy in 2022. I have always been a really studious person and enjoy learning. My plan has always been to become a pharmacist and work in a hospital setting to find a way to focus on the senior population. I deferred my PharmD for a year starting in September 2022, but plan to return in 2023.
What makes you feel most confident? When I love what I'm wearing! I have some staple outfit formulas I like to follow that make me feel like myself which makes me feel more confident.
If you only could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Bibimbap! Especially if it comes with all the side dishes.
Choose one place in the world you have always wanted to visit but haven’t.
One place is hard, because there are so many places I haven't been. I would love to go to Italy with my mom and take a local cooking class.
What would you like to say to your fans/ followers?
Thank you does not really seem to cut it. But I always want to encourage them to DM me, especially if they have things they want to see more of! It has been so fun getting to know some of them because I feel like a lot of them are so similar to me. There are some people who have been following me since I had 1000 followers, so I feel like we went through this journey together. But any support/ like/ comment/ save/ share really means so much. I hope I can keep proving you all the outfit and cooking inspo so don't hesitate to reach out!
MODELISTE MUSE KATIA KRAMBLE
When did you start your career as a content creator/social media influencer?
Growing up I was always looking for a creative outlet but my career started while I was a university student and wanted to learn more about the world of social media.
I started off by managing accounts for small businesses and working a 9-5 job in digital marketing. I then quickly realized that I wanted to have my own voice and inspire others through a unique spin (quite literally!). What started off as a small travel account turned into my career, merging my passion for travel, fashion, beauty and skating. Long story short, @jetlaggedlovers was born about three years ago.
Do you have any advice for young women who are hoping to pursue a career as a content creator/social media influencer? Is there anything you wish you knew before?
The best advice I could give to anyone is to stay authentic to yourself and find your own voice. Starting off, many, including myself, got lost trying to copy trends and “fit in” with other influencers, and amongst that they lost their individuality. It wasn’t until I embraced my career as a figure skater and combined it with my interest in fashion and beauty that I was able to find my unique path in the industry.
What are you most thankful for at this stage in your life?
I am most thankful and excited to wake up and be passionate about what I do each day. I love that my job allows me to travel and have new experiences and most importantly, I’m so grateful that it allowed me to fall in love with skating all over again.
Do you have any exciting upcoming projects that you can share with our readers?
I am currently working on a passion project on the ice, AKA a series of videos merging fashion, beauty and skating with a focus on brands and products I love. This project has brought me closer than ever to my community and has created a completely new and exciting dimension of the sport for me!
City getaway or island getaway?
City getaway, unless it’s a piece of floating ice in the middle of the ocean.
What was the highlight of your time in Antigua with Modeliste?
I’ve never been to Antigua before and I really loved experiencing it with such an inspiring group of like-minded girls. Collaborating and bonding over creative ideas together is always a highlight of the Modeliste trips for me!
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
To be honest, I have no clue and I kind of love that for me. I’m excited for all my eras to come!
How do you balance your work life and your personal life?
What personal life? Just kidding. I’m still figuring out the whole balance thing to be very transparent because this is all still fairly new to me. But keeping my circle small and supportive has helped me stay sane.
Any current trends you will NEVER partake in? If so, which trends?
I think a big part of this whole industry is being open-minded to evolving and growing alongside others, but dancing has never been my thing. (Unless it’s on skates!)
What is your current skincare routine for winter? Do you have any favorite products we must try?
My skin care routine is pretty minimal, but hydration is key especially during the colder months. Moisturizing thoroughly, using a hyaluronic serum and an overnight moisturizer saves my skin. My favorite’s are the Sound Sleep Cocoon from Dermalogica and the Lait Corporel from Biotherm. I also have really been loving the Image Skincare Hydrating Eye Patches when I wake up to help with puffiness under the eyes. I find that the heat and dry air always makes my face swell!
If you weren’t in social media, what would you want to be doing for work? Something creative for sure. Either something in creative brand marketing or living out my childhood dreams of being a fashion designer. Or traveling the world laissez-faire!
What makes you feel most confident?
Wearing what I want and doing what I love. Especially when I’m the main character on the ice! This career has honestly really taught me to not be affected by comments and opinions of others.
If you only could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I must have been an island girl in my past life because I can survive off of fruit all year long.
Choose one place in the world you have always wanted to visit but haven’t. There’s so many places on my travel bucket list that I hope to experience through my career but one place in particular right now is Japan. If you’ve been, please send me your recommendations!
What would you like to say to your fans/ followers?
Find ways to do what you love even if it means taking an untraditional path. Hard work will always pay off. But mainly, I want to say thank you to the people who watch and support me and allow me to keep doing what I do.
MODELISTE MUSE RIKKI FEERRAR
When did you start your career as a content creator/social media influencer?
I started years ago! I started strategizing my content and putting myself out there on social media right after college, in 2016, and then was able to make it a full time career in 2020!
Do you have any advice for young women who are hoping to pursue a career as a content creator/social media influencer? Is there anything you wish you knew before?
My advice is that there is room for everyone, especially in today's world. It might seem like everyone is starting their career as a content creator but people are always looking for new and inspiring people to follow and I've realized the same for brandsalways trying to find new people to work with! So go for it and don’t hold back if it's truly what you’re inspired to do.
What are you most thankful for at this stage in your life?
I’m most thankful for my health and my ambition.
Do you have any exciting upcoming projects that you can share with our readers?
I do!! Nothing I can currently share but I'm so excited for new chapters!
City getaway or island getaway? Tough question!! I just recently visited both Paris and Antigua, and both were equally amazing!!
What was the highlight of your time in Antigua with Modeliste? Any funny stories you would like to share? Honestly just being on a tropical island with amazing females- it was so inspiring and fun! The girls on the trip were just so genuine and it's great to be around like minded supportive females, and obviously even more amazing it was on an incredible island. Katia and I were walking back to our rooms late one night and there was a crowd of people around and I looked down and thought I saw a HUGE tarantula crawling towards us…(MY BIGGEST FEAR) and I started sprinting and screaming in the opposite direction. No one else had yet seen it but my scream was so fearful that everyone else started screaming and running with me…here it was just a crab that escaped from the beach area.. not a spider!
Where do you see yourself in ten years? In ten years I see myself married with kids and still doing the things that I love in my career!
How do you balance your work life and your personal life?
Honestly, I don’t… I'm still trying to master it. There are times when its 95% work and 5% self care for months at a time depending on the season. I do experience burn out but I've been able to really indulge in self care during the times I do get my time off.
Any current trends you will NEVER partake in? If so, which trends?
I don’t think I would ever partake in eye lash extensions or microblading! Working in the beauty industry I see soooo many trends.
I NEED everything off my face at night so eyelash extensions would not be good for me. I also wouldn’t be able to tattoo anything on my face because I change up my look and makeup so much!
What is your current skincare routine for winter? Do you have any favorite products we must try?
Definitely anything hydrating! My skin gets so dry- the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask is so good!
If you weren’t in social media, what would you want to be doing for work? I’d be working and owning my own spa/ salon full time!!
What makes you feel most confident? When I’m doing the things I love and working on bettering myself and those around me.
If you only could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Grilled chicken salad… I know it's not that interesting but honestly something I never get sick of.
Choose one place in the world you have always wanted to visit but haven’t. London!
What would you like to say to your fans/ followers?
Follow your dreams, work on yourself, aim to be your healthiest and happiest!
MODELISTE MUSE SAMIRA AHMED
When did you start your career as a content creator/social media influencer?
I first got into my career as a content creator around 2 years ago! I’ve been taking photos and creating content for as long as I can remember but it didn’t become my career until very recently.
Do you have any advice for young women who are hoping to pursue a career as a content creator/social media influencer?
Is there anything you wish you knew before?
The people in my life! I’m surrounded by the most beautiful friends and family that make every day special.
What are you most thankful for at this stage in your life?
I’m most thankful for my health and my ambition.
Do you have any exciting upcoming projects that you can share with our readers?
There’s always something in the works! Follow me to stay up to date.
What was the highlight of your time in Antigua with Modeliste? Any funny stories you would like to share?
We made the best memories and had so many highlights. After each day I kept saying “this is the best day out of the whole trip.” But on the last night, on our way home from dinner, we were having a sing-along in the car and all of the sudden these lights started going off and we were in a party bus! We had a whole concert to “You Belong With Me” by Taylor Swift. It was also my birthday weekend and everyone went the extra mile to make me feel so special!
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In 10 years I see myself having my own business, living somewhere warm, and hopefully married!
How do you balance your work life and your personal life?
I always say it’s a little hard to balance work and personal life in this career because there’s so much overlap. I’m still trying to find that perfect in between but having designated time off my phone and just being present in the moment really helps.
Any current trends you will NEVER partake in? If so, which trends?
I personally wouldn’t participate in the micro skirt trend. I love it but trust me I can’t pull it off!
What is your current skincare routine for winter? Do you have any favorite products we must try?
Yes, my skin gets so dry in the winter but I’ve been using Fresh Beauty almost every day/night. I’ve been loving their lip mask and their tea elixir serum! My new ultimate favorite. So if you’re going to try anything, I’d recommend those two products.
If you weren’t in social media, what would you want to be doing for work?
I’m in school studying marketing and PR, so I would definitely be pursuing something similar to what I do, just on the other end.
What makes you feel most confident?
The clothes I wear! Fashion is a huge part of my personality and there’s no better feeling than putting on a good outfit and going out.
If you only could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The spicy rigatoni from Carbone… the best thing I’ve ever had.
Choose one place in the world you have always wanted to visit but haven’t.
South of France! I’ve always wanted to visit so that’s definitely at the top of my list.
What would you like to say to your fans/ followers?
I’m so appreciative of all of you. Thank you for supporting me each day and continuing to believe in me. I wouldn’t be where I am without each and every one of my followers! Forever grateful for the love, thank you for being in my life.

MODELISTE MUSE ANGIE ARIZAGA
When did you start your career as a content creator/social media influencer?
I started my artistic life on television 10 years ago and then I created my Instagram account without expecting to have this many followers today.
Do you have any advice for young women who are hoping to pursue a career as a content creator/social media influencer?
Is there anything you wish you knew before?
The first thing I would recommend is to always be yourself and make visually clean content for the audience targeted.
What has been your favorite part about 2022?
I think traveling was my favorite part of 2022. I got invited to the Batman World Premiere, I also went to Mexico for a yellow carpet where I got to meet a lot of new people.
Do you have any exciting upcoming projects that you can share with our readers?
For the moment , I’m going to stay on TV for the whole year. I’m also working on some other projects which you’ll soon hear about on my social networks.
What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?
My favorite thing is being reunited with my whole family.
What was the highlight of your time in New York with Modeliste? Any funny stories you would like to share?
The highlight for me was definitely the time of the year I went. The snow, the weather, it all looked like in the movies. It was beautiful!
Do you have any resolutions you would like to share for 2023?
I created a YouTube channel a long time ago which I’ve abandoned because of my busy schedule. My resolution would definitely be to work on it again and make time for it so I can be closer to my fans.
How do you balance your work life and your personal life?
My work life and personal life go pretty much together. I share personal and work related stuff on social networks on a daily basis.
Any current trends you will NEVER partake in? If so, which trends?
I don’t follow trends unless I feel a personal connection.
What is your current skincare routine for winter? Do you have any favorite products we must try?
I always do a basic one on daily basis ( ALL YEAR LONG )
1- serum
2- eye contour
3- hydrating cream
4- sun protector
If you weren’t in social media, what would you want to be doing for work?
I love what I do! If you took away my social networks, I would still love to be in the TV/ Entertainment industry.
What makes you feel beautiful?
Training, I consider it a time for myself. I think it’s important to have some alone time and feel productive.

MADISON GRACE
MODELISTE MUSE MADISON GRACE
When did you start your career as a content creator/social media influencer?
I started when I was 20 and I’m currently 26 years old. I was in Tulum, Mexico on vacation with my family and I was just in a beautiful location and I just made the decision then that this is what I wanted to do and started posting photos on that trip specifically in a certain way. I knew I loved to travel and I loved fashion so it seemed a good fit.
Do you have any advice for young women who are hoping to pursue a career as a content creator/social media influencer? Is there anything you wish you knew before?
This is a really good question because the industry has changed in a lot of ways. I feel it’s harder now to get traction, but not impossible. You just need to work hard and be consistent with your content. Do most of the work yourself (editing and photography) or work with another content creator to help with taking photos and you can help them in return. Another option is to try and collaborate with new photographers who are just getting started and help them get recognized by giving them credit. Also, sometimes you just need to use a tripod and get skilled at taking your own photos. You just don’t want to spend a lot when you’re just getting started. Actually even afterwards you want to always try and keep your costs down as much as you can because after all it is a business.
What has been your favorite part about 2022?
Like every year there are always highlights, but this year was especially fun going to Israel for a very close friend’s wedding. I went with 6 of my friends and it was an amazing trip! We visited the Dead Sea and so many other cool places. I also attended the Rise Festival in Las Vegas. It’s one of my favorite festivals! I actually also went with my family to Vegas too and we all had a blast, it was amazing!
What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?
Everything! The shopping for gifts, decorating, the food and just spending time with family and friends.
What was the highlight of your time in New York with Modeliste? Any funny stories you would like to share?
My highlight would be that it was a great group of girls. I love these trips because I always walk away making some new friends. Also, the Hamptons are pretty cool too.
Do you have any resolutions you would like to share for 2023?
I start off with a few but when I’m not exactly keeping them I kind of feel guilty, so this year I don’t really have any specific ones. I’m just going to try and do my best.
Choose one place in the world you have always wanted to visit but haven’t There are so many places but Greece, Portugal or Japan would be nice. Hopefully in 2023!
CANOE PLACE INN & COTTAGES
HAMPTON BAYS, NY www.canoeplaceinn.com
The mystique of ‘The Hamptons’ remains timeless. Its well known image as a haven of New York’s rich and famous has permeated popular culture through movies, TV, romance novels and tabloids. The Hamptons attracts guests from around the world hoping to capture a glimpse of a genteel way of life, a celebrity, or possibly a random Housewife mixed among the flocks of City dwellers escaping to the Long Island shore to enjoy its natural beauty and a pace that flows with the season. From the beginning of time, this picturesque area where two bays meet has been a gathering place, a hub beckoning settlers, traders and travelers seeking lodging, as it still remains. Founded in 1697, America’s oldest inn, Canoe Place Inn and Cottages, has stood here as an iconic reminder of its humble origins and colorful past of many lifetimes. Thankfully, its story continues, as it once again is delivering friendly hospitality to guests of the Hamptons.
History, beauty, and New England charm make the famed East End a place of memories where the present honors the past and elevates a community to embrace the future. When a nearly forgotten and neglected national treasure that is also a prominent centuries old East End landmark is in need of an extensive intervention, inspiration, commitment, and an expert restoration team was essential to continue a valued narrative. Fortunately, the talented Workstead Interior Design team provided all that and more.
And now, Canoe Place Inn and Cottages has been lovingly transformed into a chic sophisticated boutique Hamptons treasure, its design a tribute to an amazing history and the vision of modern luxury accommodations that emerged from its strong bones, proudly set in traditionally manicured gardens with an outdoor pool and terrace. Throughout the Inn, a wealth of history is reflected in the curated art collections that adorn the walls. Each of the 20 guestrooms, 1, 2, or 3 bedroom suites, and 5 multi-bedroom cottages, feature a carefully curated aesthetic in welcoming and classic furnishings and decor, gracefully comfortable with luxe amenities, including fine Italian linens, plush robes, Costa Brazil exclusive bath toiletries. Luxury extends to the Onda Spa which offers a serene sanctuary for massage and body treatments.
The dining experience at Canoe Place Inn is led by award winning Executive Chef Ulfet Ralph, a popular media star whose Mediterranean roots and diverse training bring an inspired range of dining options and revisioned classics advantaged by the bounty of local seafood and fresh harvests of local farmer markets. The Good Ground Tavern alongside Silver Street Hospitality has become quite a sensational addition to the burgeoning East End dining scene. With a stunning Pavilion framing artistic views from its window surround, its opulent Grand Ballroom with seating for 300, plus additional spaces for event tents, Canoe Place and Inn has become the sought after venue for a wide range of events, entertainment, and finest dining.
In a country of over 17,000 islands, one small island has achieved a near mythical image. Bali is singular as a Hindu island, a spiritual and cultural center that has uniquely captured the hearts, minds, souls, and enthusiasm of tourists, seekers of a sanctuary of peace and tranquility, nature lovers, artists, and environmentalists. All this beauty is surrounded by the stunning waters of the Bali Sea, the convergence of the Indian and Pacific oceans creating a renowned world class surfer paradise, bountiful coral reefs for snorkeling and diving, and providing the abundant array of seafood inspiring the rich diversity of Balinese cuisine.
Confession. Bali is a top favorite Modeliste destination, every aspect of the island holds treasured memories, each destination and stay brings new adventures and meaningful connections that resonate across time, years of change and growth. The heart of Bali remains deeply rooted in the spiritual, embracing the Hindu traditions, family ties, rich cultural heritage, all reflected in the warmth and welcoming nature of the Balinese people and sense of community.
The natural beauty of Bali extends beyond the golden, white, and black volcanic sands of the beaches, to the terraced rice paddies, dramatic cliffs, lush rainforest and jungles, Agung volcano, crater and whitewater river. Bali is an island of beautiful temples and shrines, hidden sanctuaries, local and family deities. A place where gratitude is manifested in daily offerings and, for those of us fortunate to share in the Bali experience, a place to immerse in serenity and peaceful reflection, to honor, celebrate, respect, connect, and sustain for future generations.
The journey of Bali discovery takes us to many beautiful destinations across the island. Modeliste invites our readers to open your hearts to adventure, luxury, nature, and love Bali as we do.
