Tell us how you began your music career. I always had a voice inside of me, it was just a matter of if and when it would come out of such a shy girl. I was a little girl who knew music was meant for me so I sang anywhere and everywhere I could. Followed the signs, moved to Los Angeles from Guam, and things organically fell together. What inspires you most when writing your songs? Being an island girl who moved to Hollywood, I’ve had a lot of interesting and diverse life experiences. I think this background inspires a lot of my song-writing. My journal writings inspired a lot of my songs too. Sometimes it happens organically when I’m in the studio, or when I meet or work with talented, unique people. I have strong feelings, and I think that’s a creative fuel. If you could have a duet with anyone, who would it be? I’ve collaborated with a lot of artists who are on that wish list, and there are many more to come. Favorite song lyrics? All of the lyrics of “There’s Always Me” by Elvis Presley, you have to look it up. What song would you probably be caught dancing alone to? I Think I Luv Her by Tyla Yaweh and YG What do you love most about being a singer? I love being able to grow my platform and have a voice to stand up for people and causes that might not be able to the way I can. I want to help make our world a better place, whether that’s making a song that people connect to and can put them in a good mood, or raising money for people in need, or speaking up for those that need a voice. I want to be here to bring light and happiness and hopefully make a change for the better in any way I can no matter how big or small. What would you say your personal philosophy is in regards to social media? Social media obviously has its pros and cons, so take it with a grain of salt and use it in moderation. Don’t let it consume your life. Have fun with it! Be creative, uplift others, discover new talents, businesses, restaurants, find things that inspire you. Anything negative you come across on there, let it slide off your back. There are too many special and great things in life to focus on than someone’s rude comment.

M I A How would you describe yourself in 3 adjectives? LOVING. MUSICAL CURIOUS. Most used emoji? The black heart because it’s the best heart. Favorite book that you enjoyed recently? I’m reading probably 7 books right now… many different genres, but the one I’m really into is my Elvis biography from 1981. What's the wildest thing you've ever done in your life? Probably swimming in open water with 12 foot sharks for fun. What are the top 3 things on your bucket list? I want to go to Paris, learn a new language, and say yes to everything for a day.
What would you like to be remembered for? I hope they say “knowing her changed my life.” I want to be remembered for beaches, and hopefully every time they step on a beach they think of me. But also, thigh high boots, wearing wife beaters since birth, and great music. Fashion icon? Princess Diana. Current binge watch. The Politician. If you could make a documentary, what would it be about? What it’s really like coming from a small island and trying to make it in the music industry. There’s so much that goes on behind closed doors that people would never know. If people knew my story and all the things that I’ve been thru in Hollywood, they wouldn’t believe it.

Was there ever a moment when you really felt like you made it? I don’t know. My priority is feeling good in life more than feeling like I made it. Life is a journey and I’m already so blessed to be on the road I’m on, being able to make music. I have so many goals, my list is never ending. There is always work to do. As long as I’m happy and surrounded by my family and a strong team and always working hard, I’m good. Upcoming projects you can tell us about? I’m always working on music. I recently dropped a couple songs, “Feel Up” with YG and “Don’t Get Me Started” with Gunna and Carnage. There’s more coming soon and I can’t wait to get on the road, touring is one of my favorite things to do. What was your favorite part of your Cover photoshoot? I loved working with everyone on this set. It’s so nice having people around that keep the mood light and make working fun. The pictures came out great and I’m very happy that everyone’s work looked amazing. It was such a fun set with the train tracks and actual trains passing by...trains are so mysterious, I love them. Why do you love Modeliste magazine? Modeliste is about fashion, beauty and travel and that is a huge part of my life as well. What would you like to say to your fans? Everything I do, I do it for you. I love you, thank you for being on this journey with me through all the ups and downs no matter what. We’re about to grow and experience so much more together, I have the most exciting news that I can’t wait for you to know. We still have a lot of work to do and I’m thankful and blessed to do it hand in hand with you.

If you had a full day off, what would you do with it? Definitely would love a great hike and lunch with friends. What can you tell us about your latest projects? Something YouTube related but can't say! How do you decide what to post on your social media? I like to post photos of my travels and share pieces of my life, along with outfits I put together. What's something your followers may not know about you? That I’m really goofy in real life and I’m always up for spontaneous adventures! I’m just really a big kid at heart. Sneakers or heels? Sneakers! All time greatest purchase you've ever made? This is a hard question, but I recently bought these YSL black sunglasses in Italy that I really love. What would you say is your beauty philosophy? Keep it simple, I don’t use a ton of products. What is a beauty product that you don't go a day without wearing? That would be Burt’s bees pomegranate lip balm! It gives you a nice tint if you’re not wearing lipstick. What did you love most about the Not Your Mother’s hair product brand? In love with the dry shampoo!
We learned you did your own makeup for you shoot with Modeliste, where did you learn you own makeup skills? Friends, watching other makeup artists, and practicing. Tell us about your time in Puerto Vallarta. It was amazing! I loved the day we toured the island of Las Caletas. We ate lunch there and hung out with all these beautiful animals & birds that we could interact with. What did you love most about Hotel Mousai? Our rooms were absolutely beautiful. We had a private jacuzzi on the balcony and a hammock. I also loved their rooftop infinity pool, their incredible views, and their drinks! Why do you think Puerto Vallarta should be on everyone’s bucket list to visit? It’s an underrated gem, with so much culture, the people are so nice and there’s lots of things to do. What do you love most about Modeliste Mode Around The Globe Getaways? I love the locations we visit, learning about new cultures, and the activities that are planned for us. I’ve also love every hotel we’ve stayed at, the accommodations are always fab! And last but definitely not least, I always enjoy meeting the other girls that are also on the trips. What would you like to say to your fans? I’d like to say thank you so much for all your support & following me along on my adventures. Tell us about your time in Puerto Vallarta. I had the best time! I think my hotel balcony view was the nicest I've ever experienced and the infinity pool was breathtaking. ARRIVING IN CAIRO,
our first excursion was to the renowned ancient Mediterranean port city of Alexandria. Here we saw the modern restored ancient Mediterranean capital of Egypt, once a repository of all knowledge in its famed library. Though destroyed and every volume lost, the impressive modern revisioning of Alexandria’s Library is once again a thriving home of knowledge and research for students from around the world. The second largest city in Egypt today, here we are also reminded of Greek and Roman influences in its history from catacombs to a Roman Amphitheater, from Alexander the Great to Cleopatra.
Day 2 Destination:
the Great Pyramids of Giza and The Sphinx. Those breath-taking moments of wonderment are realized at last. In a historical review, our guide brings to life the immensity of this construction feat, the Great Pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu, the largest single building ever built. The two neighboring pyramid tombs were built for Pharaoh Khafre and lesser known, Menkaure. The three smaller pyramids for Khufu’s favorite wives and flat topped pyramids for his favorite children. Climbing the massive stones of the base, crawling the claustrophobic entry tunnel is to have an appreciation of the scope and vision of these perfectly mathematically measured structures over 4,000 years old. Next, we move on to the iconic Great Sphinx, its mystery and presence forever the symbol of Egypt’s ancient civilization now a memorable photo op. Gazing at its tangible portrayal of indomitable strength and resilience guarding the pyramids through time, created by men in a desert far from mountains, stones transported by boats sailing canals extended from the Nile River, the masons, craftsmen, scribes, priests, unite in a functional temporary city of thousands of workers is truly beyond astonishing. From here we travel back in time to the earlier manifestation of pyramid tombs, the necropolis of Memphis, the first step pyramids of Old Kingdom pharaohs. Day 3 Exploring Cairo Sites:
The phenomenal collections of Cairo’s historic Museum of Egyptian Antiquities will soon be relocated to the immense newly built state of the art facility, but for now, this stately old building houses these exhibits showcasing Egypt’s archaeological treasures, halls of statuary and cases of mummies, temple restorations and pyramid treasures including those of King Tut’s long hidden tomb. Having our experienced Alex Tour guide navigate and narrate through the historic finds and easily overlooked wonders was extremely valuable. Cairo is a city of impressive mosques and historic churches, works of art and architecture. A visit to Old Cairo is an opportunity to visit the historic Coptic Church of earliest Christians and the Ben Ezra Synagogue where a thriving Jewish community worshipped for centuries. Later, a horse drawn carriage ride acquaints guests with the community and neighborhood life, shopping district and nearby historical sites.
