EDITOR'S LETTER

The fall festive season has officially arrived complete with the enchantment of renewal and the exhilaration of a fresh start, it’s thrilling – and it always feels important. This November issue of Modeliste is dedicated to women who give voice to curiosity and a zest for life and positivity. We've made a bolder, braver magazine to celebrate them and give these important, varied new voices a place to talk about who they are and what they stand for. I am incredibly proud of what the Modeliste team has created and curated on the pages that follow. Our Cover Star, Sarah Jeffery is a thoughtful voice and a true vision of elegance and grace. With a growing string of roles including Audrey in Disney’s Descendants franchise and the lead character Maggie Vera on the CW series, Charmed, Sarah has now added singing to her list of talents with the release of her second single, SUFFER. Her can't-get-it-out-of-your-head songwriting-tunes of heartbreak and triumph, almost always laced with a knowing humor. We can’t wait to hear more! There is much to be grateful for this season- and we certainly are grateful for our readers. Thank you for being a part of our Modeliste family.

Where were you born? I was born in Vancouver B.C! Where are you currently living? I currently split my time between Vancouver, where I shoot Charmed, and LA, where I spend my time when I’m not shooting. What's your favorite thing to do in Vancouver and LA when you're not working? My favorite thing to do in Vancouver is hang out with my family and spend time in nature. I also love skiing during the winter! In LA, I spend a lot of my time having dinners and beach days with my friends. Wherever I am, I always have a book with me.

with SARAH JEFFERY In celebration of her latest single release, Modeliste had the opportunity to sit down and hear about Sarah’s upcoming projects, how she’s currently spending her days, and what her favorite beauty hacks are. To find out, read on for the full interview.

At what age did you know you wanted to become an actress, and how did you pursue your career? I only knew I for sure wanted to become an actress once I started actively working. I always had an interest and curiosity towards it because I love all art forms. I grew up a dancer, but for a career I thought I wanted to be in medicine from a young age. I started auditioning, thinking if I booked a few things, I could pay for med school, but when I booked my first series “Rogue”, I knew it was where I belonged. I’ve always loved entertaining more than anything, so it makes sense. What has been your favorite project you worked on thus far? It’s hard to single out one project because they all have had a meaningful impact in one way or another, whether it was because I made a lifelong friend, learned a lesson, or worked with someone I admire. I will say Descendants will always have a huge place in my heart, mostly because of the people and the singing and dancing. However, the most meaningful project I’ve worked on is an indie film I just finished shooting called, Year Of The Fox. I can’t reveal too much, but it’s incredibly close to my heart and was the biggest challenge I’ve had as an actor. How do you prepare for a big role and/or project? It definitely depends on the role. Some roles I need to prepare more physically, some roles I do a lot of work to get myself into the emotional state of mind of that character. Spending time sitting with the character before you go to camera is a luxury you’re not always afforded, but is always helpful. One of the things that makes me feel the most prepared is having an open dialogue with the writer and director prior to shooting, and during. Collaboration is really important to me.

What are three words you would use to describe yourself? Determined, brave, and kind. In what ways are you similar to your character, Maggie Vera, on Charmed? Maggie and I share a lot of characteristics. We are both deeply empathetic and loving. I also have three sisters so I know what that kind of bond looks like. I think we are both tapped into a deep place emotionally, but also have a levity to us that I think (and hope) makes us fun to be around. What does a typical week look like for you? If I’m on a project, my week is usually pretty simple. Go to work and, if I wrap early, I’ll have a glass of wine and read a little before bed. But a lot of the time I’m too wiped to do anything except get ready for bed and crash. On weekends I try to have a life outside of work, so seeing friends or doing something active and engaging is a priority for me. When I’m not working, my week is full of exercise, organizing my home, seeing friends, reading and watching TV, cooking, and traveling (back before the world got crazy). Are there any other avenues of your career you would like to explore in the future? I most definitely would like to write, direct and produce. While being on camera is where I’m most comfortable right now, I do think I would love behind the scenes too. I like getting to see a vision come into fruition. What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own? My best advice is simple but I think it’s pretty sound: work hard and have fun. Can you tell us about the Cameron Boyce foundation and ways people can become involved? The Cameron Boyce Foundation seeks to educate people about Epilepsy and to raise money to find a cure, especially to SUDEP (sudden unexpected death in epilepsy), which is what took Cam’s life. The work they are doing is so beautiful and is really keeping Cam’s legacy alive. They also are raising awareness about gun violence which is something Cam was so very passionate about. I would recommend following them, donating if you can, and absolutely educating yourself about epilepsy and knowing how to help if a loved one ever is diagnosed.

Any upcoming projects you can tell us about? I have a couple new projects coming up. I just released a new single called Suffer, along with a music video for it, which people can catch on my YouTube and stream on all platforms. I just finished shooting a film called Year Of The Fox. I have one other project coming up that I can’t talk about yet, but it should be super fun. I’m excited! If you could raid anyone's closet, whose would it be? I think Kristen Stewart always looks mad cool. Her choices for event outfits are always unexpected and really rad. I also have a massive crush on her, I think she’s amazing. Favorite beauty hack? I don’t know if this will make sense without an instructional video, but my favorite thing to do is to make my eyeliner super sharp and cat-eye-esque by taking my fingernail along the bottom of a small wing and really quickly dragging it out and up. It usually creates the sleekest, most badass cat eye ever. You could also use a pointed Q-Tip. Three fall fashion trends you cannot live without? I could not possibly live without a chunky black boot, a pair of perfectly tailored high waisted trousers in a neutral color, and a simple long black coat. Bonus item, I LIVE for a silk scarf around the neck. Top 3 songs on your playlist at the moment? Wolves by Jensen McRae, 115 and 5 Seconds For You by Benjamin Amaru, and Superstar by Yves Tumor. Someone recommended that last song to me on a first date and I’ve not stopped listening to it since. What was your favorite part of your Modeliste cover shoot? My favorite part about the shoot was the amazing team. Every single person brought only great vibes and incredible talent. What would you like to say to your fans? I want to say thank you for your loyalty and never ending support. I wouldn’t get to do what I do if it weren’t for you all. I also want to say I hope you’re all taking care of yourself and staying safe. Love you big time.

As a social media personality and influencer, in what ways do you hope to inspire people through your platform? I’ve never considered myself an influencer, but I suppose anyone with a platform and audience is an influencer in one way or another. I really hope to keep things open and honest with my social media. My heart goes out to kids that are growing up with all these distorted visions and ideas of what beauty looks like because of social media, and so I hope to keep it real and remind people it’s okay to be different. It’s more than okay, it’s wonderful. Keeping conversations about mental health going is also so important to me, as I struggle with it myself. Knowing you’re not alone is monumental when dealing with mental illness.

Celebrity Makeup Artist Robert Bryan shares how he created Sarah’s Cover look and what skincare and makeup products he used to emit her otherworldly goddess-like glow. ROBERT BRYAN for exclusive artists using Pixi Beauty www.robertbryanartistry.com @robertti

“For Sarah Jeffery’s makeup, I kept it fresh and feminine. I wanted to celebrate her beauty and not distract from it” says makeup artist Robert Bryan.

COMPLEXION

SKIN

2

www.PixiBeauty.com

I started by prepping Sarah’s skin with Pixi Rose Tonic To-Go pads ($18) to tone, hydrate and nourish the skin. I followed with Pixi Hydrating Milky Serum ($24) and finished with Pixi Vitamin-C Lotion ($24). This ensured Sarah’s skin had optimum moisture.

For Sarah’s complexion I used Pixi Beauty Balm High Coverage Foundation ($22). In light sheer layers I used shade ‘Nude’ in the center of the face blending outwards. I then sculpted her face using Pixi Beauty Balm in shade ‘Caramel’. Lastly, I used Pixi H2O SkinVeil in shade ‘Translucent’ ($24) to matte down shine only in the T-Zone to maintain the healthy glowing look.

3

EYES

On Sarah’s eyes I used Pixi Endless Shade Stick in shade ‘Matte Cognac’ ($19) all over the eyelid. I then drew a small wing on the outer upper lash line using Endless Silky Eye Pen in shade ‘Black Cocoa’ ($12) and used Pixi Endless Shade Stick in ‘Pearl Lustre’ ($14) on the inner corner of the eye to brighten the eye. I finished with two coats of Pixi Lengthy Fiber Mascara ($16).

CHEEKS

I wanted to keep that healthy glow in the skin on the cheeks as well so I used Pixi MultiBalm in shade ‘Baby Petal’ ($6).

5

LIPS

To finish the look I used Pixi Cream Rouge Palette in shades ‘Smooch’ and ‘Romance’ ($20) for a freshly bitten looking lip. MODELISTE | NOVEMBER 2021 25

Get Your Skin Glowing in Autumn

R

The weather is cooler, leaves are starting to turn color and pumpkin spice everything is calling your name. This is the perfect time to get started on undoing the damage caused to your skin during the fun summer months!

Here are the top procedures to schedule this Autumn: CHEMICAL PEELS

These treatments are excellent for stimulating cell turnover, diminish fine lines and wrinkles, improving collagen production, diminishing dark spots and melasma. Medical grade chemical peels can improve acne, acne scars, melasma, sunspots, fine lines, stimulate collagen production, exfoliate dead skin and improve the texture of the skin. They are often applied weekly to every other week for several sessions, then monthly as an anti-aging maintenance therapy. Medical grade chemical peels can make a great improvement in the appearance and quality of the skin. They often result in an appealing youthful “glow” to the skin. Peels can be performed on face, neck, chest, decolletage, arms, hands, back, and legs. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) - Fall is the perfect time to erase dark spots and sun damage caused during summer. IPL utilizes intense light to safely improve pigment issues on the skin. This versatile treatment can be used to treat a wide range of skin conditions, including sun damage, redness, brown spots, age spots, red capillaries and sun-induced freckles.

42 NOVEMBER 2021 | MODELISTE

This powerful intense pulsed light treatment can be done on face, neck, décolletage, arms, hands, and legs. IPL also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin which plumps up the skin resulting in a fresher and more youthful appearance.

This agent irritates the inner lining of the veins causing the veins to shrink in diameter and become much less visible.

COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY

One of the latest innovations in aesthetic medicine is collagen induction therapy or Micro-needling. This effectively utilizes minute medical grade sterile pins to lightly penetrate the skin in order to create a controlled micro-injury stimulating the selfrepair mechanism of the skin. This treatment effectively stimulates collagen and elastin production resulting in smoother, firmer, and more youthful appearing skin. Topical hyaluronic acid, vitamin C or PRP - your own Platelet Rich Plasma - can be applied for optimal results. Areas commonly treated are face, neck and decolletage. Stay away from micro-needling rollers that will cause tearing of your skin and ensure that the treatment is performed by medical professional.

SCLEROTHERAPHY

Sclerotherapy or injection therapy is the most effective and commonly used treatment for spider and reticular veins on the thighs and legs. Sclerotherapy utilizes injection of a sclerosing agent into the veins.

How to Keep Your Skin Hydrated All Winter Long by Camille Bavera

48 NOVEMBER 2021 | MODELISTE

Hot to cold, yes and no’s for keeping your skin healthy and hydrated as we move into the chilly months! Fall is that awkward, middle-school esque transition from too humid to bone dry, and unfortunately we’re all here for it. Moisturizers and cold cream can be great in a pinch but drinking lots of water and establishing an ever-adjusting routine that keep you glowy Here are helpful tips for what to eat and wear to survive the cold. Start to lean a little on your new face mist. Hydration is key in combating the dropping temperatures, so besides drinking at least 10 glasses of water per day, start including a topical spritz.

HEYDAY’s Ice Roller, is a great cheap fix available at www.heyday.com

POPULAR HOME

REMEDIES INCLUDE: • 2 cups of strong brewed green tea, chill, then add a few drops of Vit E for an extra boost. • 1 cup strong chamomile tea, a couple drops of jojoba oil (my personal fav), plus an essential oil for some scent. Up to you. • 1 tbsp lime juice, ½ cup distilled water, 3 tbsp aloe. Combine and chill. *remember chilling is key *can add cucumber juice/water to any of these for an extra refreshing boost

Tatcha's Luminous Dewy Skin mist available at www.tatcha.com In the changing months, here are the best tips for beating those last, random days of heat. Take a few minutes and ice your face during the day! Using ice cubes will not only hydrate your skin but alleviate the puffiness from any late nights or long days. Other options include frozen face rollers you can grab out of the freezer at a moment’s notice – maybe even keep one in the work fridge.

Lastly, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Some skin types continue to need a face cream all year round while others only need it during the driest seasons. No matter what category you fall into, try to start incorporating it into your daily routine or just keep a good one on hand for the days you need it most. HOW TO INCORPORATE Y2K INTO YOUR DAILY STYLE 74 NOVEMBER 2021 | MODELISTE

Double denim is not only for the Canadians of the world, in fact, it could eventually become the new standard for tuxedos everywhere. Celebrities make the case for the iconic jeans look long after Britney became a Halloween costume classic.

Let’s break it down. Y2K – synonymous with mean girls, low-rise jeans, and tiny tops that can seem intimidating for the Mossiest of physiques. Those of us who were living their prime in the early double 00’s can attest to the fully flinging ourselves into the world of glossy lips, barrettes, and plucked eyebrows to within an inch of their life. Fast-forward a decade or two and in looking around the streets of SoHo and WeHo, tweens and teens don’t seem to have changed a bit. But for the OG’s looking over their shoulder, how do we reincorporate such dated elements of style without looking 30 going on 13? Here are the best trends of the 2000’s revived for the modern femme. The baguette. The iconic, easy to sling over your arm, comes in every color and pattern imaginable, is made by almost every brand on the market, and is more delicious than anything that comes fresh from a boulangerie. This bag may have defined the early 21st century but it doesn’t define your look by carrying one. Case in point.

Tie-front tops. Sexy, demure, adjustable to give a peek or more of a show. Soft, comfortable, goes from day-to-night, clubto-bed (and back); literally, one of the most diverse pieces you can have in your wardrobe. So, whether you know or care what Y2K is, you should have one of these to throw on at a moment’s notice.

Bandanas. Is it a top? Scarf? Hair-covering? All the above? Seemingly the most versatile/ accessory with no definition and endless possibilities can’t possibly go out of style. And it hasn’t. Regardless of which decade it became ‘a thing’, it’s still a thing, and will continue to have a place in pop-culture until we stop thinking of new uses. Bucket hats. Y2K or no, I haven’t known a winter without my fuzziest bucket hat to warm my ears and hide a bad hair day. But outside of those coldest months, they still have their place as the smaller cousin of the wide-brimmed summer hat and even have pocket potential for the smallest of things (a la Prada). Top names in the game are Kangol, NOAH, GUCCI, and Ganni. 76 NOVEMBER 2021 | MODELISTE

INTERVIEW with

ASHLEY MARIE DICKERSON @ashleymariedickerson

110 NOVEMBER 2021 | MODELISTE

I’m a country girl from Mississippi, but I’ve been living in Miami for the past three years! I graduated from university with a degree in Marketing. I’m a full time model and content creator, Cat mom, a huge movie buff, and a little bit of a foodie. How can people stay up to date with you through social media? Follow me @ashleymariedickerson on Instagram! What can people expect to see from your social media platforms? You’ll be able to see a little of my modeling work, content that I create for other brands, travel, as well as a peek into my everyday life. Can you share insight into the process of creating the platform you have today? What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless? It definitely doesn’t happen overnight. I would say I’ve been building myself on Instagram for the past five years. It’s all about being consistent and putting out content you think people want to see. The past year, however, I’ve dedicated a lot more time than I ever have. Depending on the week, I usually create content 2-4 days a week, with the other days I spend planning, emailing, and doing other modeling work. It really is a full time job. What's something people would be surprised to know about you? On Instagram people see me more put together and glammed up, when in reality, I’m quite the opposite of that person. I love being in the country, horseback riding, riding four-wheelers, anything outdoors.

As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform? I hope to influence others to go after whatever they want in life! Whether it’s modeling, traveling, etc. Who are your favorite content creators? So many! My good friend @JourdanSloane as well as @Tezza.barton and @Staceytonkes are a few of my favorites. Are you working on any exciting projects you can share? None that I can share. What are three items in your closet you cannot live without? My biker shorts, Levi’s jeans, and Nike Sneakers! Essential product in your beauty routine? I am obsessed with the Hyaluronic Acid Serum from PCA Skin. It is the BEST for overall hydration. What was your favorite part of staying at ACRE? What activities would you recommend for someone looking to visit? I loved how it is its own little community. Everything was gorgeous. My favorite part was being able to see the animals and horseback riding! What does the remainder of 2021 look like for you? I will be traveling back and forth from Miami to Los Angeles for a bit, but then planning on enjoying the holidays with family for the end of the year! What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own? I would say go for it! Take inspiration from other creators and then make it your own. I believe the first step is learning what your style is and then start creating! What would you like to say to your fans? Thank you for allowing me to do what I love!

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish? I have many goals, but I would say one is having a billboard somewhere and working for the iconic Guess Brand. What and who inspires you most? Why? My parents inspire me the most. They’ve achieved so much in their lives, and have always taught me to go after what I want in life.

BRANDI CYRUS @brandicyrus

118 NOVEMBER 2021 | MODELISTE

I live in Nashville, TN, which happens to be my hometown. I’ve landed there for now after a six year stint in Los Angeles and a short year living in Denver, CO. I live on a mini-farm and take care of 21 animals, mostly rescues and retirees. My day-job is tending to the animals and working with my competition horse Starpower. I’ve ridden and competed horses my whole life, it’s my other passion outside of music. By night, I’m a DJ and a podcast host. It was quite the winding road to get here! It’s no secret that I’m one of the five Cyrus kids, and I’ve spent a lifetime both in the background and the foreground of the entertainment industry. From working on the set of Hannah Montana, to signing a record deal of my own at 21, and now performing as a DJ at clubs and festivals all around the U.S… it’s been a wild ride of an adult life so far, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! How can people stay up to date with you through social media? I am definitely most active on Instagram @BrandiCyrus What can people expect to see from your social media platforms? Any time I post something on social media, I want it to bring something positive. Maybe that’s a smile from a dog photo, a laugh through a podcast episode, inspiration to wear something new, or travel somewhere you’ve never been. My goal is always to spread light to people around me. It’s also really important to me to be authentic when I post, so you’ll see a lot of real-life stuff on my Instagram, and LOTS of animal content! Can you share insight into the process of creating the platform you have today? What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless? To be honest I just sort of fell into this whole influencer world. I was living in L.A. and my band Frank & Derol had just called it quits, due to both issues with our record label and creative differences within the band. I was only 26 and I was so burned out on music that I wanted to try something else. I signed a contract with Next Models and they encouraged me to start a fashion blog. I’ve always loved clothes and styling and I had taken photography classes in college so

I had an interest in that too. So I started my blog, Style Native, shooting street style with friends in LA and simultaneously growing my Instagram account. Over the next few years, between my blog & socials, attending brand events, and working as an on-air host for Fuse TV, I noticed that I had started to become labeled as an “influencer” - and here we are! I still have Style Native, and have grown to include beauty, travel, and lifestyle. I also cohost two podcasts, which has become a huge part of my brand as well. The first is Your Favorite Thing with my friend Wells Adams, and the second is Sorry We’re Stoned with my Mom, Tish. What's something people would be surprised to know about you? I think people probably expect me to be a really big personality, super social and maybe a bit of a partier because of my job. But really I’m super low key, prefer to be quiet and hang out in smaller numbers, and I love a 10pm bedtime! I’m all about prioritizing my sleep, haha. What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish? My goal is to always be evolving and never be stagnant. I’ve always been passionate about living in the moment as much as possible and finding purpose in what’s happening right now. As long as I am moving in forward motion towards something, I’m happy! Obviously, it would be great to play bigger shows, make more money, grow my career… but at the end of the day, my happiness and staying centered is my first priority. What and who inspires you most? Why? I am surrounded by so many incredible people and I find inspiration from all of them. Starting with my family. Each one of them oozes such an insane amount of talent and in such a unique way, it’s impossible not to be inspired by it on a daily basis. I also have countless friends that are so hardworking and such go-getters, and many of them are also creatives doing incredible things. Strangers are inspiring too! Especially those who have become friends, like the others girls in this magazine — Nicole, Luana, and Cenit - we had such a wonderful time in Antigua, and I was very inspired by each one of them for their hard work and dedication to their craft, and also for being such cool, nice girls who are fun to be around. I can’t say that about everyone that I meet, so when I do meet awesome people in this industry, it makes an impression! As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform? Any time I post something on social media, I want it to bring something positive. Maybe that’s a smile from a dog photo, a laugh through a podcast episode, inspiration to wear something new, or travel somewhere you’ve never been … My goal is always to spread light to people around me.

Who are your favorite content creators? Truthfully, my favorite “follows” on Instagram are dog accounts! A cute or funny dog reel just puts a smile on my face and makes my day. Are you working on any exciting projects you can share? I’m still co-hosting my two podcasts - Your Favorite Thing Podcast with Wells Adams, and Sorry We’re Stoned with my Mom, Tish. There’s a few new things in the works for both of those! What are three items in your closet you cannot live without? My white Air Force 1s (they go with everything!), a Tribe Kelly sweat set (they’re so comfy!!), and a pair of light wash denim! Essential product in your beauty routine? Good skincare. It’s hard to pick just one, but good skincare means less makeup and I’m all for that!! What was your favorite part of staying at ACRE? What activities would you recommend for someone looking to visit? My favorite part, hands down, was all of the animals! I think it’s amazing how they take in so many rescues, and even adopt out their dog rescues! I had a few people DM me and say they rescued a dog from ACRE, so it was cool to see that in person. What does the remainder of 2021 look like for you? I’ve got DJ gigs every weekend in October which is super exciting. I love the hustle this time of year, because after November things get slow and I spend the holiday time relaxing, recharging, and hanging out with my family. I’ll play my last show of the year on New Years Eve, and then it’s on to 2022!! What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own? Don’t ever be afraid to try something new. It can seem daunting, but my motto is “fake it till you make it” and it hasn’t failed me yet! Sometimes the best way to learn is to just get out there and do it. I would also say to anyone wanting to be in the entertainment industry that the most important thing is to protect your inner peace and happiness. It’s something money and fame can’t buy, and it’s the most valuable thing in your life. What would you like to say to your fans? I love you guys!! Thank you for all of the love and support, and a special shoutout to anyone that’s a YFTer or a Stoner - our podcast communities are so wonderful and I am so thankful for you all!

INTERVIEW with

ELIZABETH WEBER @ewebbzz

126 NOVEMBER 2021 | MODELISTE

I'm from Birmingham, Michigan, but currently live in Los Angeles, CA. My career today is a collective of hybrid creative jobs. I create social media content, I am the CoHost of After the Island a live video podcast series, and I model for LA Models. How can people stay up to date with you through social media? People can follow along my journey through any of my platforms, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, & snapchat. As well as my career with After the Island and on Instagram and YouTube. What can people expect to see from your social media platforms? My social media is a combination of fashion, fitness, beauty, and travel! I try to be as authentic as possible when it comes to posting anything on any of these platforms. Can you share insight into the process of creating the platform you have today? What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless? My platform started to grow earlier on in college when I was posting lots of modeling photos from photo shoots I did, that were paid and also non paid, as creative material for my feed. I then started to gain a larger following when I moved to NY for my advertising job, where I was scouted for the reality TV show, Love Island USA. I ended up winning and the majority of my social media following is now from that experience. It was challenging creating content in NY for my page while working, but it was something that interested me so I was okay putting in the time and effort outside of work to get it done. The following that came from the show felt seamless and my experience on the show was seamless for me, because I went into it with no expectations and was true to myself the entire time. I think that's how the audience was able to relate to me and vote me as the fan favorite. What's something people would be surprised to know about you? I think people would be surprised to know that I have a very goofy light hearted personality and kind demeanor. I think my personality always throws people off that only know me through Instagram because the app is so one dimensional that it’s a lot harder to understand someone's personality through a series of photos.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish? I have a lot of goals I still would like to accomplish and am always trying to take steps toward reaching them. I’ve always wanted to be a creative director or run my own company of some sort, either owning my own agency or starting my own brand. I love creating my own concepts for brands and hope to someday move back onto the industry side of things. What and who inspires you most? Why? My parents, for starters, always inspire me. They both work so hard for our family and do a great job balancing working hard in their careers and still having time for friends and family. My mentor in life will always be someone I look up to as well. His name is Marcus Collins and he is the smartest man I’ve ever met in my life. He is the Head of Planning at Wieden and Kennedy and also teaches at U of M Ross Business School. He took me under his wing for 2 years as an intern and research student and I have never learned so much in my life. He is super committed to always staying true to what you believe in and always doing the right thing even if it’s the hard thing. He always remembers to make sure that what he believes and his roots don't get left out when making work decisions. As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform? I’m a huge believer in always working toward your dreams no matter how big they might feel, always advocating for people to take risks and chances on themselves, and to never be afraid to do that. I hope that, through my examples of taking chances on myself, I inspire others to make those kinds of decisions as well. Who are your favorite content creators? It’s always changing as the apps evolve and new features roll out. Right now, I love Amelie Zilber. She is so inspiring with what she posts and stands by the things she believes in. She uses her education to share weekly news roundups to inform followers of important topics happening in our world, and she doesn't stray away from controversial ones. I applaud her for that. Are you working on any exciting projects you can share? Currently I’m working on a few projects I'm excited about. First, I just designed my apartment from scratch and newly furnished everything. I loved getting to go through that design process. I also have been a part of “I Stand With My Pack”, fostering puppies and helping raise money and awareness. I also recently started attending art classes at the Raminfard School of Arts and have been loving getting back into my creative roots.

What are three items in your closet you cannot live without? 1. My tote bag from Godashdot. It’s the perfect travel/work/gym bag that can fit everything including my laptop for always being on the go 2. I’m always freezing when I leave the house, so my Alo jacket always comes with. It’s an easy throw on that mixes athleisure and fashion. 3. I love my APL running shoes. It changed the way my feet feel when I workout and inspires me to want to keep up with an active lifestyle. They also look super trendy so I can wear them for daytime excursions or to the gym while looking innovative and stylish. Essential product in your beauty routine? Using retinol at night before bed! I always wash my face in the morning and before bed and applying a retinol each night has helped clear up so much of my acne scars. I’m so thankful for the transformation it has given my skin. What was your favorite part of staying at ACRE? What activities would you recommend for someone looking to visit? My favorite part of ACRE was the feel of being at a wellness and luxury resort all in one. Everything was about giving back to the earth that had so many feel good vibes all around, between all the gardens and crop fields, the animal rescues, and all the pretty tree houses that were built. And not to forget my favorite, Fausto the peacock, who thought my villa was his home. He would sit on the perch each day and night as if he lived there, always greeting me by fluffing up his beautiful feathers. What does the remainder of 2021 look like for you? The rest of my year looks like a full schedule of working hard and grinding, with the expectation of getting to see family and friends over the holidays for Thanksgiving and Christmas! What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own? To always follow your dreams and work towards them until you make them a reality, and never let anyone tell you that your dreams or goals can’t be accomplished. What would you like to say to your fans? Thank you so much for supporting me and always sending me love and that I appreciate all of it so much.

136 NOVEMBER 2021 | MODELISTE

I’m from a small town in Florida. I’ve always been into dance and entertainment. I’m finally at a point in my career and personal life where I’ve honed in on what I want and that feels special to me. It took me quite a bit to figure that out because I tried so many things along the way and there’s always more to continue learning and figuring out! How can people stay up to date with you through social media? By following me on Instagram where I keep my stories updated daily. What can people expect to see from your social media platforms? You can expect to be immersed in my day to day life. As I'm an original Pinterest girl, you can also expect to see travel content, home inspiration, and get some unprofessional life advice. Can you share insight into the process of creating the platform you have today? What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless? After being on reality TV, I looked for creative ways to share my personal life while connecting with my followers. Because I'm a creative person, the aesthetic elements seemed seamless to me. What's most challenging was navigating where I wanted to be and what I wanted to do after the show. I think it’s easy for people to get lost or reactive. What's something people would be surprised to know about you? Haha! Is anything actually shocking these days? Maybe that I can drive a stick shift? My first car was manual.

As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform? I hope to influence people to be an unapologetic version of themselves and go after what they want. Who are your favorite content creators? Average Fashion Blogger, Elsa Majimbo, OkDeon, Hannah Bronfman, Tabitha Brown, and Molly Mae. Are you working on any exciting projects you can share? None that I can share! What are three items in your closet you cannot live without? Underwear, black leggings, and a hoodie. Essential product in your beauty routine? Moisturizer!! What was your favorite part of staying at ACRE? What activities would you recommend for someone looking to visit? I really enjoyed the privacy but also being in close proximity to everything. I would recommend the community bikes that you could bike around the farm on. What does the remainder of 2021 look like for you? I'm going to be going overseas and then going home to the family for the rest of the holidays to spend some quality time with them. What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own? It's okay if you don't know all the answers. Just keep trying new things and, once you find something you like or that works, be consistent and run with it! What would you like to say to your fans? I LOVE YOU !! Every single one of you is so special to me and I couldn’t do what I do without you. If you ever see me on the street, don’t be afraid to say hello! xo

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish? I'd love to stay in entertainment and host a competition show while also designing / updating homes as a hobby. What and who inspires you most? Why? What inspires me the most is creative and financial freedom. I just want to be able to do what feels good and I'm willing to work for it.

Enthusiasm for a return to travel is palpable across the world after months of deprivation and a cautious reopening of safe tourism. For many of us, the urge to travel, to discover and explore, to encounter and experience different cultures, languages, foods, histories, and natural environments, is essential to existential happiness.

Travel enhances meaning and adventure in life. Travel is importantly about connections… with people, destinations, nature, past and present. Travel is also about choices, where to go, when, how, how much to budget, what to do, and who? After a year of Zoom, reconnecting with family and friends has become a significant aspect of planning. It’s a time for inclusion. Many families are reviving traditions, gathering in familiar places representing generations. Many others are reuniting families and constellations of friends, choosing destination getaways, celebrating occasions missed or postponed, weddings, retreats, enjoying the togetherness of planning and discovering or rediscovering destinations near or far, experiencing favorite activities, the great outdoors, and creating memories.
