Cover girl Nienke Jansz

(The Netherlands)

Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Nienke Jansz. Born and raised in Zeist, a small town in The Netherlands. I studied music (vocals) in Utrecht and besides that I started modeling. Once I graduated I moved to Milan, then Istanbul and then London where I ended up staying. Now, 6 years later I’m a fulltime model with 9 agencies world wide and several singles out with more than 100,000 streams. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I wouldn’t want to change anything physically even tho ofcourse I have my insecurities. But, sometimes I wish I would be able to stand up for myself more and say no. How did you start modelling? I started modeling in 2015 when I was still studying music. I was applying for loads of agencies and got so many rejections until one small agency said yes. I ended up signing with this small agency in The Netherlands and from there it started rolling. They signed me with an agency in Milan soon after. Then Istanbul and London followed that same year. And I ended up staying in London.

What do you think of the work as a model? I think it comes with pro’s and con’s like any job. It’s definitely not for the faint hearted. It’s a tough industry and not as glamorous as it’s made out to be. I remember my first agency in Milan told me to loose a couple of centimeters from my hips before coming to Milan. As I was so excited I did, i was very skinny. But as I was so proud and excited I did it. Then in Milan when I had my first job there was a client on set that said was too big. Luckily I am someone with thick skin so it didn’t effect me much, but I can imagine something like this could really damage a young girl. Since that moment I decided that I didn’t want to do any jobs that required me to be unhealthy or unhappy. So I focused more on the commercial side of modeling. I stayed in London because the market in London is more commercial and more fun and easy going. You can be any size or height here and there’s jobs for you. I think it’s important to find an agency that loves you for who you are and that’s the right fit. Then ofcourse the traveling, the people you get to meet, the places you see, the shoots you get to do are all things that you will remember forever. What is your beauty regimen? I love to workout. I grew up playing field hockey and ballet so I’ve always been active. Nowadays I train 5 times a week in the gym. I do mostly weight training mixed with hiit cardio to stay in the best shape I can be. I do not restrict myself food wise, however I try to nourish my body with mostly healthy foods. But if I crave something, I will have it. I think when it comes to skincare less is more. I don’t do much besides serum at night and sunscreen in the morning, and loads of water during the day. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I think I am very friendly, I always try to make people feel comfortable and make people laugh. On set we always have the best time and I think that’s so important. I am also very hardworking. If I want something, I will do everything to get it. Even if it takes years, I don’t give up easily and that’s what got me where I am today.

What are your plans for the future? I would love to move to the US and work there for a while. My dream is to work with Si Swimsuit. Let’s see where the future takes me. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? It’s hard to choose, but I think one of my favorite experiences was shooting winter clothes in 40 degrees celsius in Egypt, or shooting swimwear in Cape Town with Penguins in the background! Moments I’ll never forget. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? Don’t start too young, make sure that you have a plan B, finish your school or degree first. In this industry you get a lot of rejections, but don’t let them effect you. They’re not personal, you’re just not what they’re looking for. Make sure that modeling is enjoyable for you, and you’re happy and healthy. And don’t give up! It’s easy to give up but the best things come to those who do not. What do you think of the magazine? I love it! My first publication in Modellenland was in 2014 I believe. Just before I started modeling! It was an editorial I’ve done with Ivo Schrage. Time for an update I believe. Photographer Marco Bracchi (Italy) Can you tell us a little about you? I am Marco Bracchi, computer engineer always passionate about visual and graphic. Years of rigorous and framed work led me to the need to have an artistic outburst where I can take refuge. Photography for me more than a passion, is a way to get out of the daily world. How and when did you get into photography? I started shooting in 2014 when I first used a camera. I immediately fell in love with the result even just using the automatic mode. From that time, I started taking courses and attending seminars to build my own style. What does photography mean to you? Photography for me is an outburst, a way to get out of the monotony of daily life. With my photography I try to tell what I have inside. Combining this with the interpretation of the subject I try to arrive at a result that tells both. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. My style is always evolving, it bores me to stop too much on a certain type of photography. Definitely a staple is Fine Art, Fantasy and pictorial photography. Lately I've been working on more conceptual shootings and a more cinematic style. Where do you get inspiration from? My inspirations are the most disparate. This can be seen from the variety of my works over the years. Let's say that generally I look for something that strikes me in the subject I choose and I try to enhance it on the set. Then the shadows ... so many shadows, in my photography I try to give the shadows the same attention I give to the lights, in fact they are the ones who tell the most intimate part of a subject. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I am definitely a hobbyist, my job is another and it has nothing to do with photography. I'm not sure I want to be a photographer as a job, I like it too much as a hobby and I wouldn't want to spoil it with the problems of any kind of job.

Model & Mua: Rossella Gelsi (IG: @gelsirossella)

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? I don't have a precise method and it is "vicious and Virtues" of my way of working, often the idea is only hinted at or not even there. I like to be carried away by the moment also based on the ideas of the subject in front of me and see how it responds to mine. Precisely because I don't want to harness it in my own idea, I really like it when the inspiration of those in front of me takes over and gives me something. I believe that in this, photography and painting, they are profoundly different and the thing I like most is seeing the subject express themselves and being able to capture them when I see something of their own and intimate. Studio, on location or both? After 1 year spent at home I much prefer to shoot on location. Outdoors possibly.. What has been your most memorable session and why? One session I loved is the one with the vintage style clown couple. They were so close that the shots really tell how they are in reality and in fiction. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? I use a Nikon camera but I think it's not important. The important thing is always the ideas you have in your head. I prefer to shoot with short lenses, I usually shoot with a 35mm. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer? Honestly, I don't know because I didn't take this step. Surely what I can recommend is a good course and always stay up to date. I believe that there is nothing worse than photographers who criticize innovations without ever having studied them. What do you think of our new magazine? It was a pleasant discovery. I didn't know it but I will certainly follow It with interest and the non-profit idea behind is fantastic. https://www.facebook.com/braccolomeo - https://www.instagram.com/braccolomeo.78/ Issue 71 - May 2021 - Modellenland Magazine

Model Ira Pavlova (Russia) Can you tell us a little about you? I am from a small place. I went to university in Ryazan and from there I graduated in Business. After university, at the age of 24 I was discovered by a model agent on the streets of Moscow. Therefore, on the one hand, I am a small town girl, but on the other hand, I have become a woman of the world. In this regard I am very fortunate because I carry with me old world values along with new world experience. I also enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle away from modeling, which includes hobbies such as piano, learning languages and playing tennis. Like everybody else I wish to have more time to do more things, as I enjoy gardening and reading, but I know these are things I will do in the future. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I am very comfortable with myself and I am quite content with my life. But since starting modelling I’m away a lot, and I’m an only child, so I wish to be a better daughter, who could spend more time with my mom and entire family or even bring them along with me when I travel. But neither is easy to do and it bothers me. I hope to do better with this in the future. How did you start modelling? As I said I was literally discovered on the street. Like in a movie! I was 24, which is late for a typical modeling career, probably because until then I was always in our small town. Living in Moscow and being discovered changed my life. I'm that girl that never expected to experience being in Vogue or Harper's Bazaar. I still wake up sometimes in the morning and wonder “Is it really true?” What do you think of the work as a model? There are many layers to the life of the model. There is modeling work itself, which consists of very long days and requires stamina, concentration, focus, a little bit of acting and a lot of passion. But then there is a process to get that work, the castings and interviews, which is very humbling at times and quite time consuming. There is the aspect of life away from work and process, which involves taking care of yourself, nutrition, exercise. These matters of external beauty and mental healthiness affect your success as a model. It all comes out in your work. There is another aspect with the world stage, which involves travel and hotels. Yes it is glamorous but there are also sacrifices which come along with it, mostly affecting the areas of personal life, such as moments of loneliness. All together though the job of a model is very satisfying and exciting and I would not change career for anything. What is your beauty regimen? My beauty regimen all starts with going to bed at a reasonable hour. I believe sleep is very important for beauty and health in general. I wake up early and enjoy a run. I make a very light health breakfast for myself. That sets my day up well for either jobs or my days-off regiment. Either way, my days always include special treatment for skin, hair and nails. I believe as a professional model it’s very important to invest in your own health-care, to stay at the highest level, both for yourself and your clients. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I think one of my distinguishing features as a model relates to a sense of inner strength and independence. I think this comes through in my work and that many women find it encouraging and inspiring. I believe that’s important especially at this moment in history. - 24 -

Issue 71 - May 2021 - Modellenland Magazine

What are your plans for the future? I have never been buser as a model, as the role of the model has evolved a lot. A model today is in a position of influence and from this position I can do a lot of good, such as bringing awareness of sustainability in the fashion industry, animal rights as well as healthy consumerism choices. These are meaningful things which I want to play an even larger role in my future. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Working for the top magazines in the world such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle was extremely special and meaningful to me personally. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? I would encourage any young person to choose modelling as a career. My advice would be to go to as many casting events as possible and remember that success does not always happen over night, and the story of the most successful models is about perseverance. Don’t give up! What do you think of the magazine? There are many magazines that support the modeling industry and artists, but there are only a few that are dedicated to the modeling industry itself. I appreciate that Modellande is so dedicated to models and their stories, thank you! https://www.irapavlova.net/ - instagram: pavel_rn - 26 -

Photographer Francesco Micheli (Italy) Can you tell us a little about you? I was born in Rome on 11 October 1978 and I have lived in a peripheral area near the sea since I was an adult. As a boy I was quite rebellious, but with the passage of time I have changed becoming much more thoughtful and sensitive to my surroundings and to what happens in the world. I spend my life in a fairly ordinary way, but with the curiosity of observing people, of trying to understand the world and the evolving society. Sometimes it scares me and fascinates me at the same time. Sometimes I feel alien and sometimes comfortable with this constant change How and when did you get into photography? I never thought about photography until I was 35. As an astronomy enthusiast I started experimenting with astronomical and landscape photography. I started taking portrait photographs out of the desire to discover people to see their looks, their expressions and hear the voice of their soul. I started photographing my friends, who I must say were very good at helping me grow and very good at expressing sensations through their face, through their eyes. From there my passion for portrait photography began.

Model Claudia Borioni Mua Veronica Micheli

What does photography mean to you? In my opinion photography is the means of communication par excellence, it gives me the opportunity to discover, express and communicate a concept that I have in mind. Through photography I feel I can also talk about myself, to tell my story. Photography manages to remove that veil of shyness and excite me during the shoot. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I don't think I have a distinct photographic style. My photographs try and try to see the soul of the subject through their eyes. I love tight cuts just to try to get direct, to perceive every slightest expression on the face, to fall into the eyes as in an infinite tunnel and let yourself go to it. Where do you get inspiration from? My inspirations come from the experiences of my life mainly, from what I saw growing up, from what I loved and hated. I read a lot of fashion magazines as I love the photographs of great photographers. The face of the photographer also inspires me a lot, each face with its expression and its characteristics give me qull'input to make the shot. - 54 -

Model Chiara BIanchino Mua Giulia Forleo

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? I always try to have in mind a mood to create, but it often happens that at the moment of shooting I can also go off topic because at that moment something different inspired me, an expression or a movement of the model for example Studio, on location or both? Both Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I was born as a hobbyist photographer, but I aspire to become a professional

Model Sarah W. Vinci Mua Ludovica Sechi

What has been your most memorable session and why? Each session is important and fundamental for me, but I could say that the session that has remained in my mind the most, which I feel has evolved, was with the model Claudia Borioni in the photographic studio in Formello “Rimesse Fotografiche” We worked great with the lights, the makeup, the clothes and the atmosphere was really positive. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? I use Canon, I feel great with this brand of camera. My favorite lenses are the Canon 85mm and Canon 50mm. The 85mm lens I use mainly for shots with a 50mm cut to have more field, for example whole figures set. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? I can say that I also recommend it to myself, it is to continuously search without stopping, not to set limits and to continue shooting a lot and to follow the great current and past photographers. Photography is studied, experimented and learned even by making mistakes.

What do you think of our new magazine? I like it very much, it is a very complete and well organized magazine. Inside you can find many inspirations, beautiful photographs, models and photographers to follow. There are very interesting articles that help to learn about the world of photography. I read it very willingly. Model Karmela Zigova Mua Veronica Micheli

Photographer Lombet Johan

(Belgium)

Mon but?

Issue 71 - May 2021 - Modellenland Magazine

Modele : Marie P Lien : https://www.instagram.com/maiipiercot/

Model Sabina Świątek (Poland) Can you tell us a little about you? I am Sabina and I am from Poland. Last three years I spent in Belgium and now I am back to my motherland and located in Cracow. My biggest love and passion is dance, especially hip hop style, jazz funk and new age. I love theatre too – being on the stage is an amazing and magic feeling. I am also a beginner masseuse. Thai massage is my growing skill and hobby. Besides that I'm a really positive person, always smiling and laughing but also really sensitive and fragile. Small things make me happy but small things can hurt me too. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I hope one day I will say I am totally perfect and enough. But for now if it's appearance or character I'd just say.. a lot! How did you start modeling? When I was a kid my older brother had a camera and I used to play with it. At first, I tried to take pictures of old abandoned houses or nature. I think due to my artistic soul I have always tried to find some magic in it. Next, I started taking pictures of myself and checking what kind of emotions these pictures would evoke. Then I started to play with it even more. What if I part my lips a little? What if I flirt with the camera? What if I play with the light? What if I use my body and not face? Eventually, I posted some photos on social media and started getting invitations to photo shoots. What do you think about work as a model? For sure I would not say it is easy. Few hours of posing can be simply exhausting. You often have to pose in awkward positions or clothes. You have to express your emotions so that the photos are not boring. But I think every effort pays off. What is your beauty regimen? Well, I try to eat healthy and avoid junk food and sugary drinks. No booze. Of course it happens from time to time and that's okay too. But if you are healthy you feel good, and if you feel good you look good. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? Definitely my positive attitude. People compare me to the sun. They tell me when I show up, my energy makes them smile. I always try to chase happiness and follow what my heart says. And that's what I love the most about myself. I appreciate what I have and who is around me. I am at peace with myself and I try to show love to the world and to others. This is my simple way to make my life easier. What are your plans for the future? I have no plans. What a life will bring, I will take it and use it the best I can. What are some of your favourite experiences so far? I remember every session I made. I'm extremely happy that I had a chance to work with people from various countries such as Poland, Belgium, Canada, India and Syria. Each of them was a challenge for me. Each of them had different ideas and different working methods. But over a year ago a photographer I worked with decided to put my photos on his exhibition in Ekeren, Belgium. It was definitely an important experience for me. I'm glad I could be a part of it. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? Create yourself. You don't have to be the same as the others. You don't have to look like anyone else. You don't have to act like anyone else. Just be the best version of yourself. Believe in yourself. Love yourself. Work hard and don't give up. What do you think about the magazine? First, I would like to say thank Modellenland for the invitation. I am grateful to be able to share my experience here. About the magazine itself I think it's amazing ! It's great for people associated with the world of photography. But I also recommend it to those who are looking for inspiration or just want to relax over a coffee. Instagram: @sabina_swiatek - Fb: Facebook.com/sabina.swiatek/ - 86 -

Photographer Luca Storelli (Italy) Can you tell us a little about you? I’m a published Fine Art and Fashion photographer. I studyed photography at State Institute for cinematography and television. I work for international fashion and fine art magazines, and I teach photography and retouching. How did you get into photography? I started more than ten years ago, working as assistant in a photo studio. What does photography mean to you? First of all photography means everything for me. Art, communication, expression, romance, feelings, vibes, I learn and communicate through images. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I like to mix different styles and languages in my works. Fine art mixed with compositing techniques, both of them mixed with fashion and portrait. Where do you get inspiration from? I learned all from my master, many of that now are become friends. Their creations stimulate me so much, and I’m constantly influenced by all of hem: Bella Kotak, Kate Woodman, Marcel Van Luit, Joel Grimes, Pratik Naik, Lillian Liu, Sean Archer, Eric Elmas, Lindsay Adler, Chris Knight, Jacke Hicks, Scott Kelby, Sue Brice, Renee Robyn, and many others…. Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? Yes, it’s the thruth. The shot, is the last, and the less important action during a shooting. The art is seeing and creating the composition of the image before shooting. I see the image before shooting, when I’m on set, I look around me and I think which elements will be in the frame, the prospective, the lights…. This is the most important moment of the shooting. Or, in other cases, I draw my idea in the frame with a pencil, to see what are my feeling looking at the results.. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I’m a paid professional.

- 98 -

Studio, on location or both? Both of them let me to be creative. I have not preference. It depends by the project I have in my mind. The most important thing is the idea, after that comes all other facts. A picture is a fact of mind, not of a click on the camera. This is the main thing I explain to my students when I teach. The importance is not the camera, the lenses, the technical aspects…… none of them. The most important thing is the IDEA behind each photo. What has been your most memorable session and why? I remember with love one of my last editorial for an important American fashion Magazine, 7Hues. I shot in nature with waterfalls with a cinese model. I shoot in this place every summer, and every time I totally make a different work. This place makes me so excited and creative. In post production I love to add other elements in the frame, like plants, water ripples, flowers, stones, birds and koi fishes. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? I work with Sony A7RM3. And my favourite lense is a Sony 24-70GMaster. It is a lens that allow me to be creative What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? To look around and learn from the master. Sometimes you have to stop shooting to learn before start. The eyes have to been educated… and the best way to do this is to study from the others. Don’t shoot without clear ideas, don’t make anonymous pictures…. As I learned from Lindsay Adler , every time you shoot a picture, this must be a WOW! Picture. You have to capture interest and emotions from people who are looking at your portfolio. Make all of your images the best you can do. What do you think of our new magazine? I don’t know your magazine. This is the first time I hear about you. It will be an occasion from know something new and maybe learn something else. In lall our ifetime we don’t never stop learn from eachother. https://www.facebook.com/luca.storelli/ - www.instagram.com/lucastorelli - www.lucastorelli.com Issue 71 - May 2021 - Modellenland Magazine

Photographer Guilherme Lechat (Brazil) Can you tell us a little about you? I’m a fine art nude photographer. I've been a photographer for 30 years. I wrote the first book on artistic nude photography in Brazil. I publish my authorial work in international magazines. How and when did you get into photography? I was 18 when I became interested in the world of photography. It was 1990. I was studying arts at the university. I started photographing dancers, actresses, painting models. What does photography mean to you? Photography is communication, a way of telling a story. Like a poem. It is an important part of my life. A real school for sensitivity. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I try not to be agressive or shock. I like to please and to be soft. And what I ask of the models is that they act in the same way. Where do you get inspiration from? I look for inspiration in the work of great photographers, painters, filmmakers. Beautiful images are everywhere. Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? Yes of course. Photography is a form of personal expression. You can't say something you didn't think about. And, as a technique, it also requires planning. Previous study, preparation

Studio, on location or both? Location, always. I like wide views, with a lot of landscape inserted in the image. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I’m a professional photographer. What has been your most memorable session and why? A shooting that I will never forget was one in which a rut collapsed over the model. She was not seriously injured. But it disappeared before our eyes. We were very scared. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Both. They are big companies with excellent equipments. My favorite lens are the canon 85mm F1.8, canon 24-105 F4, and canon 70-200 F2.8. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Choose an area of expertise. A theme. Study a lot about it. Submit your photos for publication only when you are ready to do so. What you show will be part of your name from then on. What do you think of our new magazine? The new magazine is very elegant. And it is an honor to have my work published in it. https://www.facebook.com/lechat2015 lechat@terra.com.br Issue 71 - May 2021 - Modellenland Magazine

Photographer Roberto Rubino (Italy) Can you tell us a little about you? I am an Italian photographer, I live in Sicily, and this land full of colors and landscapes has always inspired my photography. I like to photograph landscapes, people, colors, but above all I really like portrait photos How and when did you get into photography? I have always liked photography, I took many reportage and landscape photos until, a few years ago, I mainly dedicated myself to portraits What does photography mean to you? Photography is free to express oneself, convey one's feelings, give the idea of one's vision of things and of the world. With photography I give my interpretation, my personal interpretation. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I really like to insert the subject I photograph, inside a landscape, a scene, set the shot outside. I like to use colors a lot, and the beautiful landscapes we have here in Sicily. I hardly ever take pictures in the studio. Where do you get inspiration from? I really like to enhance the female subject, and as I said before, I like to contextualize it to the external environment where I shoot trying to create beautiful atmospheres. The lines and geometries have always been a source of inspiration for me. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Fuji, mirrorless. My favorite lenses are 35mm and 85mm

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? No, I often let myself be guided by my instincts. I can have a rough idea of what I want, but then when I'm on set, I often improvise, because the lighting conditions vary, or situations arise that I hadn't calculated. Shooting outdoors means just that. adapt to the conditions that are found. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I am a hobbyist, What has been your most memorable session and why? The best sessions are always those that have the sea as an element of the shot. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Always photograph according to your instincts. You have to be creative, not necessarily follow the usual rules. Photography is creativity. Above all you have to create your own style, which is the most difficult thing. What do you think of our new magazine? The magazine is very beautiful and above all of an excellent level. It is really a pleasure to browse through it and appreciate the published works. www.facebook.com/robertorubinoph - www.robertorubino.com - www.instagram.com/robertorubinophoto Issue 71 - May 2021 - Modellenland Magazine

Model Nikola Chmiel (Poland) Can you tell us a little about you? Sure, so hi to everyone who is reading it. My name is Nikola. I am a young girl that really loves being in front of camera. Generally I love fashion that is why I finished school that gave me a diploma in fashion industry. I grew up as a dancer and I did it for 13 years of my life. Now I balance my modeling life with being a yoga teacher. I never though that at this age I will achieve so many of my future goals but I am proud of myself and the fact that I love what I do. Also I love food, I love cooking and even more I love making the food not only very delicious but also pretty. When I travel I make youtube videos. I do think it is one of the best way to keep the memories with me. Additionally, I can say that I Thailand stole my heart and I started to learn the language, it is great. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? It is not an easy one. I like to think that the answers is and should be nothing because I am who I am and that makes me special, but at the same time we all have insecurities and we do not think of our selfs in the best way. With all the love and respect for myself I would have to say that I want to change the fact that I never put me first. I want to make everyone happy, just wanna be sure that I am always a good human being and I do not hurt or disappoint. And that is why I sad what not could. I am working on that and I do believe that soon I will put me and my needs first. How did you start modelling? It was a long time ago. Never believed in a fact that I could ever be good and beautiful enough to even be one, but something changed when my aunt started to convince me (age 14/15) and my mom to try. I took some polaroids or more like my brother did. I putted them online and agencies started to invites me for meetings. That is how I found my first agency. For two years I was stuck there doing nothing so the start was not the best. I changed and again failed with choosing my mother agency. After that I found my lucky number 3 and started to travel and work. What do you think of the work as a model? It is hard, it is extreamly hard. I love it, but I am sad that very few people understand how difficult that job is. Modeling is my dream job. I put my hole heart to everything I do on set and outside of it. I truly believe that will be worth it one day. I now I can make my dreams come true and being a successful model with a powerful voice in this crazy but at the same time amazing industry. What is your beauty regimen? Probably boring and simple but giving myself time everyday. You know all the wellness things. Yoga, meditation, good and nutritious food, walks with my dog, dry brushing and massages or foam rolling, SPF, journaling and well sleeping but lately I did not made it a priority, unfortunately. So what I am trying to say is that focus on your head, if you are happy with who you are as a person that is the real beauty. All you need to shine, because you shine form the inside out. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? Not only that I am very ambitious but well disciplined and I can easily admit that I am respectful. - 154 -

What are your plans for the future? I have many of them and all are quite big ones. I wanna do modeling for as long as possible. On the way I want to live in a warm country where I can have house as close to the beach as possible. Close to that I will have my yoga studio and a vegan cafe. I do know that I want to make a brand with things I will make, I adore handicraft. Also on top of that plans that are more of my career goals I just wanna be happy and healthy. My plan is to be surrounded by people I love and care about, watch beautiful sunsets and drink good coffee. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Without a doubt my summer contract in Thailand. I never was happier in my life. I just felt like I fit in. I felt like I lived my life. I had the balance and I just knew I am in the right place. I worked well, met great people, ate amazing food and visit one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to and the fact I work so hard to be able to go there made it even more special. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? Do not be scared to ask questions, do not be scared to ask the hard ones. It is okay to not always have the glowing skin, perfect measurements or a big smile on your face. Remember, fight for your rights do not anyone make you feel small. The industry is huge, there is a place for you to fit in. Never doubt yourself. What do you think of the magazine? I like it. It is accessible and I gives so many people a chance to have a moment to share their few words or their amazing work. I am extremely happy that there is a magazine like that and I am grateful for the opportunity to be in it. Instagram: nikola.chmiel Issue 71 - May 2021 - Modellenland Magazine

Photographer Luca Di Noia (Italy) Can you tell us a little about you? I’m Luca Di Noia, Italian photographer, eager observer, in love with images. How and when did you get into photography? In my family photography was always presents, first my father and then my brother. In 2008 I got my first reflex, from that moment a new world started for me. What does photography mean to you? Attraction, epic moments, the freedom to express myself, lust and adrenaline. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. At the beginning I approached photography drawn by colours, life and happiness. In recent years, however, black and white, uneasiness, erotism and melancholy are shaping my photography. Where do you get inspiration? From the masters ( Newton, Lindbergh, McCurry, Salgado, Scianna, Nachtwey), from music videos, Japanese manga, from Guido Crepax. Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? A sort of plan must already be in my head before I shoot: location, mood, outfit, music, everything must fit. Studio, on location or both? It depends, but I prefer to look for locations than can “accommodate” my photographic projects. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid profes-sional? It was born like a hobby, now has turned into a job. What has been your most memorable session and why? The next one. If I accept a photographic project my commitment and my dedication will always be on the top, every project can be memorable.

Model Anna Aksamit (Poland) Winner of the month Can you tell us a little about you? Let’s start with the basics: my name is Anna Aksamit and I was born in Poland, or more precisely - Warsaw. Nowadays, describing who we ‘truly’ are is quite a difficult task. Every aspect of our identity is constantly changing so rapidly. I am a sensitive person, this is something I can surely state. I have been traveling since 5 years all around the world with my modeling contracts. Currently I am living with my adorable cat in Milan, Italy. I cannot choose words that could actually describe who (or what) I actually am. How did you start modelling? Beginning of my modelling experience started with a firm decision to change my life – I wanted to feel good in my own body, explore the world and overcome personal insecurities. Basically – to get out of the circumstances I found myself in. After graduating high school I was found by a scout from Poland on the Instagram.

Ph: Aleksander Salski

What do you think of the work as a model? I would call my work… crazy. It’s so full of various contradictions and injustices… At the same time modelling can expose to a person what hard work really is (in case you wanted to verify it – stand in front of a mirror and try changing clothes quickly for about 8 hours). This profession gives you the opportunity to learn more about yourself, the world, and people in general (regarding both their good and bad sides). This career is also full of different ‘pitfalls’ one needs to consider. What is your beauty regimen? My beauty regimen is coming from my mother’s early instructions which were: ‘Ania, always remember to moisturize your face with cream!’. That’s basically it. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? My eyes (and their frames), the tone of my voice and my character. What are your plans for the future? Most importantly - health and happiness. When it comes to my professional plans, I would like to create things basing on my own concepts, to switch roles and stand behind the camera. I have plenty of ideas. Vector graphics is one of them. I know that I need to be on the set. I understand the industry. I also want to challenge myself with video editing. Ask me next year. First of all, I want to be healthy and happy. I would like to create something that includes my own concept, to be on the other side of the camera. I have many ideas. I was thinking about going back to vector graphics. I want to be on the set. I understand how the industry works. Finally, I am thinking about recording short videos and editing. Ask me next year. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? This is a great topic for a book. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? Well, they would be as follows: 1) ALWAYS Read agency contracts !!! 2) Don’t be afraid to ask questions, especially when something isn’t clear for you 3) Fight for you rights 4) Never ever give up. What do you think of the magazine? It has a significant potential. It’s amazing that models finally have an opportunity to express themselves and prove that we are something more than ‘walking hangers’ or ‘runway horses’, as the public likes to put it. This magazine could be a breakthrough in the fashion world. Thanks for providing me with an honor to contribute. https://www.facebook.com/aksamitt/ - https://www.instagram.com/aksamitt/

Photographer Claudia Lo Stimolo (Italy) Can you tell us a little about you? I am Claudia, a 31 years old photography teacher. I live at the foot of Val di Susa, a well-known mountain valley located between Turin and France. I teaching photography in an high school. I am the mother of a lovely and curious two-year-old girl, she loves to come with me to walk the streets of the world and loves, while playing, to take pictures or to observe the result of my shots. My days are spend between my job, which I care a lot about, my family, which supports me in all my various projects, and my passion for photography, to which I try to devote myself as much as possible in order to learn and grow artistically. How and when did you get into photography? In my life I have always felt the need to express myself through the Art: dance, writing, drawing and finally photography. In recent years I have rediscovered a love for the mountains and nature, and from this renewed passion is emerged in me the need to reproduce the charm of what surrounds me: mountain, sea, people, places abandoned by time. I have thus discovered a deep love for this form of expression that gives me great satisfaction. I managed to combine photography with my job and day after day I try to convey all my passion to students by teaching them to communicate through what they see through the lens: an instrument of the soul that allows you to capture their inner and outer reality as they perceive it. What does photography mean to you? Photography is an art that helps me to express my concept of beauty and my inner moods, through the use of a personal language that I try to build shot after shot. It is an expression of myself, an escape from everyday life and the search for personal gratification. The term photography comes from the conjunction of two Greek ancient words: light (φῶς | phôs) and graph (γραφή | graphè), so Photography means "writing of light”. I think that light has infinite modulations that vary from brightness to shadows, and photography allows you to stop forever that particular moment imprinting with emotions and infinite values of light and dark that I love to capture.

Model: DeliCate - 190 -

Model: DeliCate Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. In my photographs I take great care of every detail, every element in the composition must convey delicacy and purity. This style, or rather this language, I have developed in the last year, during which I think I have made a stylistic evolution, trying to bring out more emotions. Where do you get inspiration from? Inspiration comes from everything around me, from music, from the sounds of nature, from dance which is always a dance of the world, from art and certainly from observing the work of other photographers. It is the whole cultural and intimate background of a photographer that, in my opinion, creates the photo. Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? I always try to imagine the photograph first in my mind. I think about the outfit, hypothetical shots, props that can enhance the scenery, when I'm sure I organize the shooting. The result sometimes reflects the initial project, other times the winning idea comes at the moment, thanks to the interaction between me and the person photographed. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I definitely consider photography Art, because for me it has to be a pleasure and not a duty. When I am inspired I first design an idea and then I try to take some shots. I think that if I had to do it for work I wouldn't shoot with the same intensity. But, fortunately, my work is the same in the field of photography, as a teacher of the subject, I try to transmit this passion of mine to my students. And it is thanks to this intensity that I put into my photographs that I am able to involve so many of my students and get them hooked in turn. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? I started with a Canon 1300D and just purchased another one, the 5D mark IV. As a lens, I'm using the 24-105mm and 85mm a lot these days. Issue 71 - May 2021 - Modellenland Magazine

Model: DeliCate Studio, on location or both? Especially in urbex nude photographs, the location plays a fundamental role, it is part of the composition itself. I always try to integrate the subject in such way that it completes the scenography. In portraits, in the same way, I like to study different environments that can blend well with the person to be photographed. In my opinion, each personality is different and adapts to different contexts. I created the project urbex nuditas, together with an art critic who follows me in many of my works. This project was born from the inspiration that these abandoned places transmit, and that when contrasted with the female body they bring out its soft and sinuous curves. This collection of photographs will be presented through an art catalog and the intention will be to exhibit the artworks abroad. I would like to summarize my vision with the words written by the critic Paola Simona Tesio that accompany this project: ''In this feeling the model DeliCate is embodied in the Angelus Novus, she becomes the muse, who whispers, indicates, turns her gaze towards the ruins and at the same time recalls the echo of Nature. Nudĭtas of body that becomes spiritual, ascetic, in a more abstract sense, becomes the intimate essence of absence, of the laying bare of these forgotten spaces that reveal themselves to the eye in their decadent beauty." I would like to thank her for the beautiful written texts published in the catalog and I would also like to thank the model DeliCate. What has been your most memorable session and why? I think every session is unique. When I go to some new urbex location it's always a new adventure, from trying to get inside to exploring the interiors. It's nice to try to integrate the model within these abandoned places. But even in so many portrait sessions, set outdoors, there are many memorable moments. Let's just say the laughs are never lacking. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? The advice I give is to always follow your passions, make sacrifices and set goals. It's important to never give up because if a person is sure of what he wants and is committed with constancy sooner or later the results will come. In addition, I think it is essential to take care of communication to make yourself known and create new contacts. Personally, I have always fought for what I wanted and the resultsalways given me great satisfaction. Be ambitious in life! https://www.facebook.com/Klodphotography, https://www.instagram.com/claudia_adventureswildlife/ - 192 -

A few Miss Belgium candidates asked me to help them getting “likes” on their facebook page. After the contest they continued as models and I helped them to contact photographers, brands, social medias etc. I contacted magazines such as P-magazine, FHM Nederland to have the pictures printed. I got hired by P-magazine to find them models and photographers each month. Later I decided to organize photoshoots around wedding themes myself in collaboration with stylists and so on. I decided to use my Covid time to learn photography and start myself as a photographer. What does photography mean to you? It is the art of expressing yourself through movements and colors. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. Sensual chic. Sexy but not vulgar. Colorful and sweet. I love making women beautiful by bringing the sexyness in them while being respectful. Where do you get inspiration from? A lot of photographers especially Julia Trotti. Do you think in advance what you want in the picture ? I would start by looking for a location and see what it inspires me to create. I would look at the model’s instagram to see her style and if it talks to me. On the location itself, I would already have ideas but there is always a big part of improvisation.

What has been your most memorable session and why? Florencia’s shoot, it was my first shoot with an amazing model. I keep editing her pictures again and again. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Canon 6D mkii + 50mm 1.4. Would love to try the 24-70mm 2.8 What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? If you have never tried photography : Youtube tutorials from Julia Trotti and Jessica Kobessi to learn the basics. Them photoshop tutorials to learn about layers and coloring

San Vid Photography

(London, UK)

Can you tell us a little about you? We are Sandra and Vid - a couple from London, UK based artists, specializing in natural light creative portrait photography. We are a parents of a lovely boy, who is a spark and our biggest inspiration. Looks like we are a standard family, but tend to stray to the world of dreams and magic, which highly reflects in our photography work. We are nature souls and travellers. As a completely different personalities, we share same passion and same visions in our photography. How and when did you get into photography? Like all people we have our own unique story. We both had an attraction to creativity since we were kids. When we met 11 years ago, we both already had a connection with a photography. As a landscaper and a portraitist we connected two passions into one and became what we are today. It came naturally, with no big planning and discussing how to conquer the world (lol). We love to dream and bring those dreams to life and share with others in the main aim. What does photography mean to you? It’s something that helps creative energy to release its most beautiful moments, unique ideas. It’s a connection between two worlds: reality and dreams. With the help of photography we can unlock our emotions, to open our soul, to visualize. We can imprint a tiny moment in time and collect cosy memories. Isn’t that wonderful? Where do you get inspiration from? Paintings or photography artworks by other artists, there are so many to mention, from grands to new artists, which not many heard of, they all may become inspirations and they are. A huge role plays nature and interesting places which we keep scouting constantly. But mainly for us it’s music, poems, stories, books and quotations. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. We do love experiment with a different scenes in nature and connect it with a human’s inner world. Beauty and emotional approach plays a huge role in our creative portraiture.

Models: Vaiva Skaraite, Ieva Skaraite

Do you think in advance what you want? We always do! First comes vision, or a dream. Sometimes it takes only a blink of an eye, sometimes a year. Planning is important: choosing a model, outfits, make-up, finding a location, which reflects the idea and also chasing a perfect light. Detail and aesthetic plays important role too. Studio, on location or both? As much we adore nature and would spend ages shooting on the location, we do studio portraits too. Both are creatively interesting. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? We do have clients who admire our work. We are happy and grateful that we can create not only for our own pleasure, but earn money too :) What has been your most memorable session and why? Honestly, all sessions are interesting and from all we bring warmest memories. The most memorable was a creative project, called ‘Wrapped into the Scent of the Universe’. It was taken into fields of lavender. We had two lovely models on scene, makeup artist, beautiful outfits and huge fields of purple flowers. The aim was to convey all beauty of women as a flower, radiant and thrilling, balmy and granting miraculous powers. It was magic! Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Cameras are tools first of all and every photographer finds their own preferences, if you are able to achieve the results you want, it really doesn’t matter what type of tools are used. First camera acquired from savings was Nikon F80, that was back in those days when digital was only in sci-fi movies, since then we stayed faithful to Nikon. Gear we love: Nikon D850, Nikkor 85mm f/1.4, Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Trust your flair, experiment, do not compete and dream :) What do you think of our new magazine? Beautiful magazine which presents talented artists in a very esthetic way. We are happy to be a part of it. It connects creative souls and shares creative’s artworks. Photographer Sahir Yerunkar (Klikoog Fotografie) (Belgium) Can you tell us a little about yourself? I live with my lovely wife and two teenage sons in the Belgian countryside. I have an engineering degree, an IT diploma, an MBA, currently doing a post-masters in Science, and I followed photography for about two years part-time. I am passionate about science and technology. I have a fascination for people and for light – that mysterious thing that almost everyone sees but no one understands. How and when did you get into photography? I’ve always had a point-and-shoot, since even the analogue times. Once during a family party, I was making snaps with a compact point-and-shoot, automatic camera with an inbuilt flash. The fireplace was lighting the room in a beautiful warm glow, but I could hardly capture any of that warmth in my pictures. It was this frustrating moment that led me to study photography further. With my Nikon D50 I slowly started discovering the beautiful world of photography. A lot has happened since then. I have attended several workshops, read several books, and later even attended a professional photography course, which I gave up after two years since it got too boring. In the meanwhile, I run a photography studio, where I do most of my indoor- photography work, where I have specialised in using video projectors for lighting effects. What does photography mean to you? I grew in in a very rational environment, without any artistic influence whatsoever. I never learned drawing, painting, aesthetics etc. It was with photography that I discovered the world of art and learnt to appreciate beauty. I am intrinsically a very chaotic and restless person with many distracting ideas rushing through my head all the time (even though it may not seem so on the surface). Photography is the place where I can let my chaotic ideas run free. In a way it has a therapeutic function.

Shannen Joosten - 252 -

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. Colours, contrast, chaos! These are some things you will recognise in my works. Normal is boring! Although it is the boring stuff that brings in the money, what I love to do most is freestyle projects where I am not bound by too many rules. Where do you get inspiration from? Mostly it is the combination of ideas which lead to new concepts. However, I do read a lot of magazines, and watch a lot of YouTube videos to know all about aesthetics, cameras, shooting and post-processing. I like to peek into portraits, trying to guess how they were lighted, and try to play with these insights. Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? Mostly yes: by the time I release the shutter, I am already thinking how it would look after post processing. And it is sometimes frustrating if you are not able to create the picture you have in mind. And yet it can be very inspiring. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? A bit of both. To sustain the costs of a photostudio, you need to take on the “boring” paid work. I love to do creative projects, and sell my prints, but that is not an easy task. What has been your most memorable session and why? The first time I paid for a professional model was truly remarkable. The model was able to think with me, and even came up with ideas to strengthen the scene. It was not only a great shoot, but also very educative and inspiring. Since then, I also encourage starter photographers to work with experienced model - it is worth it!

Tinne Janssen

Nikon or Canon? Favourite lens? Nikon. The 70-200 F/2.8 FL VR is my absolute favourite. I think I take about 2/3rd of my snaps with this lens. My next favourite is the 35mm F 1/4 I always have these two lenses with me when I am shooting. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Ask yourself why you are doing photography. Is it because you like it or are you dependent on it to feed your family? If you are dependent on photography, you may need an industrialised process where you can process many photos in a very short time. If you are in for the creativity, then don’t let small paid opportunities distract you if they are not in your field of interest. And always use your second card-slot for backup. Memory cards do fail and that can be very painful. - 254 -

Photographer Klaudiusz Ledwoch (Poland) Can you tell us a little about you? I am a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. I've been photographing basically as a hobby since 2011. My work is focused on new IT technologies - I need a space where I can fulfill my artistic aspirations. How and when did you get into photography? Often working on advertisements, I had a problem with getting a photograph that would fit the concept. At that time, it seemed to me that the cost quoted by the photographers cooperating with me is extremely high;). How many people have I come to the conclusion that I can do it myself - better and cheaper;) hahaha. It's not cheaper for sure;). Is it better not to judge me. What does photography mean to you? For me, photography is colors, shimmering, blurry and hazy a memory of a scene we saw and recreate in our imagination. I take pictures of my memories. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. It is very fickle. I am still - I am - a beginner - I do not have a sophisticated style. Well, maybe except for one thing - a photographer, whom I admire a lot and who is an unrivaled role model for me, once told me that my women are always so sublime and full of imperious elegance - regardless of the situation in which they find themselves - they are beyond the judgment of the observer. Where do you get inspiration from? I always learning form Newton and Mapplethorpe - nothing original;) - I use painting much more;). Of course, the impressionists and the first avangarde, secessionist. I also take a lot from the Renaissance especially light and softness. Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? Oh yes, I never take the camera in my hand until I have it in my head, I can not see in my imagination what the final, post-processed photo will look like. Model/make-up artist: HELVETHET @helvethet - 264 -

Studio, on location or both? outside the studio it is more interesting and easier, richer in colors and textures, more varied light - all this poses a lot of challenges but also gives opportunities to liberate creativity. In my opinion, the studio requires a great deal of self-discipline, it also requires a rich technical background. I have quite a large studio for an amateur - and I have used it often in the past - I also really respect people working in the studio - but personally I always choose an open-air or interesting interior. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? As I already wrote, I am a hobbyist. I occasionally take commercial photos - or run some workshops. However, I don't really have time for it - although I like to do it very much. What has been your most memorable session and why? When I and a close friend of mine were taking photos at a wedding, she accidentally slammed the car keys with our photo equipment in the trunk. All this 15 minutes before the ceremony begins. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? I started with Pentax K10D, next Conon 5D, 5Ds – favorite lens obvisiouly. Now,Sony plus sigma art, focal lengths used to be mainly 35, 85, nothing original again, currently 40 and 105 What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Don't do it in Poland;) klod76.maxmodels.pl , www.instagram.com/klaudziuszledwoch/

Model Kateryna Aresi Startseva (Ukraine) (Italy)

By: Sofia Galandrini

Can you tell us a little about you? I was born in a soviet family and grew up in difficult conditions: sometimes we missed light, sometimes water and sometimes even food.. But still I remember my childhood as a beautiful moment, a moment of freedom, that I believe modern children can’t even immagine. There was born my passion for the theatre and the acting itself. And there I received my first “No” during an audition to the Odessa National Theatre. That didn’t stop me, but gave value to the study. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? Omg, well.. Despite the appearances, I judge a lot my work and expect always so much from myself. I wish sometimes I could just enjoy it a little bit more.. But I’m working on this actually ;) How did you start modelling? First time I was scouted on the streets of my city. But I didn’t give it much importance. Then I moved to Italy for study and when I was 20 I was advised by a photographer I knew and later by my theatre acting teacher, so I subscribed in the local Milan agency and the very first casting I got my first job. But this was a side job for me, while I was working in the company and still I dreamed to be an actor and to start to study for it. What I actually did countless job experiences later, but better late then never. What do you think of the work as a model? I think it’s a nice work, making you feel really good. Why not? I’m not saying that it’s stupid to use your beauty to work. And I’m sure when you are young you can have so many beautiful experiences. What is your beauty regimen? Haha none. No, really, I just try to feel my body every moment. When I open the fridge I “feel” what is right for me today. I like to run. And I try not to be stressed, cause stress makes really suffer the body, beside the soul. And I almost never use make up on my skin, so my skin is perfect. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I pay attention to the details. When I prepare for an important casting I know what the director is looking for. But it’s also nice to find something that can surprise, first of all myself and then people around me. I also enjoy challenges. Something that I never did before is always extremely challenging for me and I like to go for that adrenaline rush haha. What are your plans for the future? I think to be a very well prepared and also talented. In this moment of my life I’m just looking for an important opportunity that will bring me pretty fast to the huge success in my job, I feel ready for it. But if I think of my future.. there are also other things, that sure I value even more: the family. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? I can’t not mention my last movie that is out exactly tomorrow (21/04) on all digital platforms: “Non mi uccidere”. It’s a noir story and I enjoyed really a lot working for it. It’s a huge project, involving an extremely special team of people and directed by visionary Andrea De Sica, that is a wonderful human being in the first place. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? I don’t like giving advices. But if I could advice my younger self, I would say to keep it simple and to enjoy it, that’s all. Every thing that we enjoy and do putting inside our heart is always a special thing, whether other people like it or not. And yes, try to find your talent, your special light to bring in this world, we all have one. What do you think of the magazine? The magazine is a fresh wind in the global panoramic and I appreciate so much there is space for young and talented people to express a free art. Instagram: Kateryna Aresi Startseva (@katerynaaresi)
