Odessa by Rut Navarro “One of my most unforgettable trips was to Ukraine, more specifically to Odessa. I felt so many things that I wanted to try to capture them in a collection, my only artistic way of expressing myself. Happiness, humanity, beauty, peace, were some of the feelings that were emerging, also combined with not so positive things... I felt trapped and abandoned and with the feeling that I had learned something: sometimes the harsh reality forces us to start from scratch, to flourish again. Just like in Chernobyl, where nature resurfaced from such a catastrophic event, Odessa made me laugh and cry. And with a constant desire that everything be filled with flowers. My head began to work since I got off the plane, when I returned to my reality and investigated how to treat hair to make it paper and turn it into beautiful flowers. Of course, focusing on the hair and betting on a natural beauty. The whole set is an ode to beauty and rising from the ashes and creating better versions of ourselves." - 156 -
