OBJECTIVES • To establish multi-speciality tertiary level teaching hospital • To develop medical facilities which comply with International Standards of quality patient care • To deliver medical services at patients affordability • To set an exemplary modal of Islamic medical services which can be adopted by similar organisations

MOTIVATION BEHIND THE PROJECT

Allah swt says in Holy Qur’an: “If an individual is killed it means the entire mankind is killed and if a human being is saved it is to that extent that the entire mankind is saved”. Further Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said: “Allah will enquire with His human creature; why you have not helped me when I was sick, the individual will reply My Lord how come you become sick, Then Allah will say at a given movement my servant was sick and asking for help, if you have reached to him you would have found me there. The above two illustration makes us very clear that in Allah’s revelation saving mankind and serving the humanity are two noble fundamentals and we believe that working on these grounds will help us in this world as well as in hereafter. Among the social and welfare programs for the betterment of mankind taking care of sick and elevating their issues is a prime and crucial activity, where, in the present global scenario it has become very expensive and out of reach of poor and needy patients. In this prevailing situation, Islamic Social Service Society, Hyderabad is striving to its maximum to address this issue effectively in a most possible way.

Problem In present era, because of the gulf and overseas employments attracting the youth, city is in a transitional phase where, the majority of the citizens are migrating from old city to the new city and an analogous city with domination of Muslim population is established in a new area called â&#x20AC;&#x153;Tolichowkiâ&#x20AC;?. With reference to the satisfactory services of â&#x20AC;&#x153;Muslim Maternity and General Hospital at old city, similar requirement is felt by the residents of newly developed region of Hyderabad. Along with IT and other developments, Hyderabad has become a hub for medical services, where most of the organisations have established their multiple hospitals at different locations to cater the requirements of the residents. Hence, It has become the need of the hour for Islamic Social Service Society to establish another hospital facility at Tolichoki location where Muslim population exist in majority and value based nonprofit medical services are deficient, therefore analogous hospital setup has become inevitable to consider.

Need As such this is a unique hospital project, where medical care is provided to female patients by female staff, in a homely atmosphere where they feel secure and protected, particularly the Hijab (parda) system observed is one of its distinctive features among the other hospital to which female patients appreciate in-depth, at present there is no hospital with such facility in this new vicinity. Hyderabad has grown in to a Metropolitan city, the existing Muslim Maternity and Zanana General Hospital cannot cater the needs of these upcoming surroundings of the city, therefore it is the right time to analogue the similar facility at this new location.

Healthcare Industry Scenario The Health care industry in India has undergone a revolution in the past two decades. With increase in living standards, the health awareness among the people has increased. Riding on the crest of technological innovation the transition in healthcare services has been fast paced. Due to the changing scenario of increased demand of healthcare services, variety of healthcare innovations and quality healthcare initiatives are introduced, further the entrepreneurial spirit have given a boom to the health care industry in India. Hence the Indian Healthcare sector is emerging as one of the fast growing and booming service sectors. According to CRISIL, the healthcare delivery market in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12% and reach Rs 2,997 billion by 2013-14. It is expected to grow at 10.7 per cent during 2013-2018 and touch Rs 4,950 billion by 2018. The driving force for this growth is increase in the number of treatments and cost per treatment.

Demand and Supply Scenario The state has been witnessing a dearth of hospital beds for many years now. It is presently facing an acute shortage of healthcare infrastructure in terms of both hospital beds and healthcare professionals such as doctors and nurses. Further to this acute shortage of healthcare supplies, Islamic oriented healthcare organisations are negligible and can be counted on fingers.

Beneficiaries: According to 2001 Population Census the following are the population figures of Hyderabad city for which project is targeted.

Total Muslim project beneficiaries are 69,86,856 (As per official senses 2001) But the reality is three to five fold increased to the figures presented.

Monitoring the objectives Monitoring and evaluation of any project is an important issue / process during the entire cycle of project management and efforts towards continuous improvement and striving for excellence is the novelty of project management. Alhamdulillah Islamic Social Service Society Hyderabad, has a very good track record of managing its projects. The present Muslim Maternity and Zanan General Hospital, is frequently evaluated and monitored at different levels and stages, the same strategy will be maintained to monitor this forthcoming project of Max Care Hospital at Hyderabad.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths • This is the second medical project of Islamic Social Service Society on own land of 2000 sq yd. • The site is well connected, thickly Muslim populated residential areas around the project plot. • Lack of multi specialty medical facilities with Islamic values and model at proposed site. • Mixed population with demand for JIH medical services. • Good support of medical manpower including clinicians and technicians to this hospital project. • In the market, for more than three decades JIH has have established a good name in offering value based medical services in the market, and hence no problem is envisaged in the efficient management of the proposed project. • Under Vision 2016 of JIH will strengthen this hospital project and increase the demand of value based medical practice throughout India.

Weaknesses • Availability of dedicated, committed and service oriented super speciality medical and paramedical staff for service oriented hospital. • Increasing culture of violence in hospitals only because of the poor medical knowledge and peculiar behavioural attitudes. • Exploitation by electronic media for issues which are simple in nature only because it happened in minority institution. • High expectations at less payment and comparison of services with other Hi-Fi corporate hospitals.

Opportunities • There is huge demand for additional beds in the City. • Hospitals with real service motto are countable on fingers • Islamic values and parda based hospitals are in much demand • Increasing number of women’s both among Muslims and Non Muslims, who wish to get treated in an isolated atmosphere under privacy. • Affordable hospitals are still in demand.

Threats • Intense competition from peer Hospitals with respect to salaries, clinical competency and hospital traditions. • Presence of unethical marketing practice and trends altering the clinicians working behaviour. • Services at low charges are undervalued. • Illiteracy among patients about disease and non cooperation attitude with the medical instructions resulting in non compliance with medical protocols, followed by complications and quarrels. • Commercialisation of medical services where service motto has completely vanished, offering medical services on non profit basis is a big challenge. • Changing pattern of life style influencing treatment outcome against the outcome of normal course of treatment.

Proposed Project The ISSS proposed hospital project with a name “MUSLIM Hospital”, which will be a 150 beds multi speciality hospital, focused with Maternity and child care.

Site & Location The proposed project will be located at “Tolichoki”, Hyderabad. Whereas, the hospital will cater to the local demand of Tolichoki, Tombs, Mehdipatnam, Gachibowli, Banjara Hills and other surrounded Areas.

Building The project envisages construction of Hospital with aggregate built up area of 1,00,000 sq. ft. for 150 beds. The hospital building comprise of two cellar, stilt floor, ground floor and six floors. GHMC, Hyderabad approval will be obtained by submitting the building plan. The floor wise built up area is furnished in the forth coming paras.

Power Supply The power requirement of the hospital is estimated to be around 1000 KVA and ISSS have applied for the same to APTRANSCO. Meanwhile a temporary connection has obtained for project work and has an in-principle approval from APTRANSCO for their power requirement for the project. There shall be continuous power supply through UPS and Generator arrangements which will ensure continuous power supply. The same has also been included in the project cost.

Water Supply ISSS have applied to HMWS & SB for supply of 15 KLD water for the project. The Hospital will also have two bore-wells facility as a backup. The approval from HMWS & SB will be obtained in this regard.

Statutory permissions All Medical, Electrical, Civil, Municipal, Bio-Medical and other laws as applicable to the project related to its operations and smooth running will be timely and promptly obtained by the respective authorities.
