To mark World Diabetes Day, Canadian Specialist Hospital (CSH), one of the largest private hospitals in Dubai catering to the tertiary health care needs of the Middle East, held a health awareness event for residents of all age groups at its premises in Abu Hail. The hospital organized an informational and engaging interaction with special diabetes educators as well as a range of complimentary healthcare related activities, including free blood pressure and blood glucose tests. The event was organized to enhance awareness on the prevention and treatment of diabetes. Close to 300 visitors/patients from different communities were in attendance, taking advantage of the available tests without the need for appointments. The event was open from 10.00am to 4.00pm. To add to this overwhelming response, a school teacher with about 12 enthusiast students of different age groups, all wearing lab coats, were brought in to observe the activities and receive a basic education on diabetes.
