Dubai: The Dubai Clinical Services Capacity Plan (DCSCP) 2020 will ensure that doctors and medical staff provide the highest quality of services. Gulf News spoke to a few members of the medical community to learn about their opinion of the survey. Dr Tara Wyne, clinical psychologist and director at The Lighthouse Arabia, a community mental health clinic in Dubai, said that the survey will serve as a good mapping tool of services. “It will help identify gaps and focus on services that need further attention. It is the first attempt in achieving seamless health care in which a patient can avail of referral pathways and partnerships between health-care providers to get the best care.” Commenting on the survey, Dr Khalid Al Ghofaili, specialist, internal medicine (endocrinology), Saudi German Hospital, Dubai, said, “Given the current fragmented public and private health care system, it is hard to determine the outcome of the survey. This is the case because there isn’t a central authority for health care planning.” Dr Liza Thomas, specialist, internal medicine, Canadian Specialist Hospital (CSH), said, “The survey will be effective in establishing the needs of patients, and determining the adequacy of current services.”
