:: pangea :: our city is build in the tradition of utopia, a city of culture on an island somewhere in the seas. in the 21 century some eccentrics decided, that the world of nations, with its wars and ignorance was not worth living in. people from all over the world gathered on the island to build pangea. an ever evolving city in which each culture would find its place. the city is build around the agora, the central marketplace and forum. this common core is the starting point for the cultural branches evolving from it. each quarter has its own cultural identity which is taken from the original tradition of the settlers. the further evolution of a culture occurs vertically, resulting in higher building. new cultures and subcultures expand horizontally, leading to the construction of new building. over time the older cultures near the core will stop evolving and even regress. newer and younger cultures in the outskirts will become dominant and push the limits of the city further. the overall evolution of the city is very similar to a water drop falling in water and generating a circular wave in constant expanse. new waves can originate where cultural revivals or cultural booms take place.
