Art camp is both inspiring and educational. Tinworks’ summer camp provides artbased programming for kids and tweens in Bozeman. Supporting art is an integral part of building a healthy, enriched and creative community, and we are excited to contribute to the expanding artistic horizons of our town.

Tinworks’ weeklong morning camps will offer an excellent opportunity for young artists to explore the world of art through all their senses. Kids will partake in artmaking sessions, engage in fun discussions, learn about the art and artists featured in the 2024 exhibition and showcase the art they make in camp at a public reception on the final day of each session. Activities will include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, fiber, storytelling and movement-based projects inspired by themes of Tinworks’ summer exhibition.

Taking a cue from Tinworks’ 2024 project by artist Agnes Denes, Wheatfield — An Inspiration, camp themes are designed to spark curiosity, creativity and engagement. Through guided exploration of topics like the environment, food, farming, sustainability, local agriculture, soil, geology, physics, maps, systems and networks, visual language and the idea of place and home, campers will consider art as a tool to communicate and reflect on the world in which we live or one we would like to see.

Tinworks Art is located at 719 N. Ida Ave. at Cottonwood, in Bozeman’s northeast neighborhood, in the heart of the historical industrial district. Located in an area with a rich history of making, Tinworks is the perfect destination for excellent art experiences, including our new summer camps for kids.

To register, beginning March 1 visit www.tinworksart.org. Spaces for Tinworks’ summer camps are limited, and registration is required. The cost for each participant is $150 per week with need-based scholarships available. Waitlists will be created if camps fill up. Refunds, minus a processing fee, will be given for cancellations requested 30 days before the start of camp. We are thrilled to welcome your young artist for an inspiring week at Tinworks Art!

But wait, there’s more!

We didn’t forget about preschool artists! Twice a month throughout the summer on Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to noon, Tinworks will offer morning art activities for children ages 1 to 5. A suggested donation will be requested for participation. There is no registration required for these art-making sessions.
