Each show will be filmed in-person and live-streamed directly to audiences all over the world. James Herriot’s adventures as a veterinarian in 1930’s Yorkshire get a glorious new adaptation in a seven-part series based on his beloved stories. Exciting newcomer Nicholas Ralph will make his television debut as the iconic vet who became renowned for his inspiring humor, compassion and love of life. The 1970s adaptation, which aired on public broadcasting, was a favorite of millions of viewers.

look at Montana’s 67th Legislative Session with weekly updates, analysis and interviews. From COVID-19 to public lands, education to energy development, Coffin will track issues of importance to Montanans as they move through the legislature and towards the new governor’s desk. Airs each Sunday through the end of the legislative session.
tells the story of Montanans imprisoned during WWI as part of the Montana Sedition Act of 1918 for criticizing America’s war effort. The film highlights the importance of free speech in wartime America and ultimately of our first amendment rights. Airs 1/13 4:30am

Magic Yellowstone: Historic 1920s Motion Picture of Yellowstone Revel with the first venturesome tourists riding the Northern Pacific’s steam engine chugging down Paradise Valley and arriving at the Gardiner Station. Pass through the Roosevelt Arch and down Yellowstone’s unpaved roads in the first motorized open-air tourist buses. See Yellowstone from a bygone era with this film, originally released in the 1920s. The Bozeman Trail The Bozeman Trail, an offshoot of the Oregon Trail, was a shortcut to the gold fields of Montana Territory. Pioneered by John Bozeman and others beginning in 1863, the Bozeman Trail cut through the heart of Indian country and became a flash point for a clash of cultures that would explode into warfare, destruction and tragedy. Airs 1/4 3:30am Stories from Montana’s Future: Blackfeet Country This program is the first episode in a series showcasing the filmmaking talent of high school students from across Montana. This episode includes three short films produced by Browning High School students on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. The films are the result of a partnership between Browning High School and MAPS Media Institute. Airs 1/7 7pm; 1/10 10:30am; 1/11 2:30am; 1/15 12pm
Evelyn Cameron: Pictures from a Worthy Life Evelyn Cameron left a life of privilege in England and found a sense of peace on the Montana prairie. With an independent spirit suited for the American West, she started her own photography business and left a legacy of photographs and writings that provide an intimate portrait of pioneer life. Airs 1/11 2pm
Montana Mosaics: 20th Century People and Events: Jeannette Rankin/Montana’s Constitutional Congress This episode begins with a biographical account of Jeannette Rankin and the political stand she took in opposition to World Wars I and II. The second half of the program includes excerpts from “For This and Future Generations,” a documentary about Montana’s Constitutional Congress. Airs 1/15 12:30pm
An Alien Place: The Fort Missoula Detention Camp 1941–1944 This program chronicles the history and experiences of the 1,200 Italian and 1,000 Japanese nationals held at Fort Missoula by the Department of Justice from 1941–1944. As foreign nationals and not US citizens, these men were arrested and sent to Fort Missoula. Airs 1/17 10:30am; 1/18 2:30am; 1/21 7:30pm

Or Perish in the Attempt Using the best medical knowledge of 1803, Captains Meriwether Lewis & William Clark were the physicians for the Corps of Discovery expedition. Before the expedition departed, Lewis took a two-week crash course in medicine, the best available at the time. Based on the book by David J. Peck, DO., this program helps us understand what they did and why, what was almost always wrong with it, as well as a sense of what medical science would do in the present day. Airs 1/28 12pm
Return to Foretop’s Father Return to Foretop’s Father follows 78-year-old Crow tribal elder, storyteller and pipe lighter, Grant Bulltail, as he travels from Crow Agency in Montana to Heart Mountain in Wyoming. Through his journey and the stories he learned from his grandfather, He Comes Up Red, Grant reveals a dark past of genocide, ethnocide, and the destruction of nature. Grant’s mission is to bring awareness to the disconnect between people and nature, cumulating in the universal impacts of climate change. Airs 1/29 12pm Aspen: The Forgotten Times For a period of years between 1893–1947, Aspen, Colorado’s only future lay in its past. All of it’s dreams were trapped in its memories of yesterday. In 1893, when the United States repealed the Sherman Silver Purchase Act of 1890 and returned to a gold standard, Aspen slipped into that strange netherworld, into that strange room with a single door that opened into the past. From Vienna: The New Year’s Celebration 2021 Great Peformances FRIDAY, JANUARY 1 8PM
As the world eagerly bids farewell to 2020, Great Performances continues its beloved tradition of ringing in the New Year with the Vienna Philharmonic at the world-famous Musikverein. PBS favorite Hugh Bonneville (Masterpiece: Downton Abbey) returns as host for a fourth year with Riccardo Muti as guest conductor for the sixth time. The Vienna Philharmonic orchestra performs favorite waltzes by Strauss, and the celebration features the Vienna State Ballet dancing on location from notable Vienna landmarks. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, Bonneville will host the concert remotely from England on location at Goodwood House, the country estate of the Duke and Duchess of Richmond and Gordon, located north of Chichester.
