The Rundown with Jackie Coffin: Fighting Her Wars In this episode of The Rundown, Jackie travels around the state
to collect the stories of female veterans and service members. On fishing boats on the Yellowstone River, a group of veterans re-unites 15 years after two tours in Iraq to find healing and joy in fly-fishing. In Billings, a nonagenarian nurse awaits recognition for her service in WWII. Coming home to civilian life can be a struggle for every service member, but women face unique struggles. Step inside the VA to hear from counselors on how female veterans respond to stress and PTSD, and learn what cracks in the system may prevent them from getting the care they need. Women are the fastest-growing segment of the military population, with more than 2 million serving after 9/11, but often feel their service is not recognized or valued as highly. This poignant piece will introduce you to the Montana women who have served and are still serving now, trying to bring greater visibility of their service and their struggles into the public eye. Australia: First 4 Billion Years NOVA Of all the continents on Earth, none preserves a more spectacular story of our planet’s origins than Australia. NOVA’s four-part “Australia’s First 4 Billion Years” takes viewers on a rollicking adventure from the birth of the Earth to the emergence of the world we know today. With help from host and scientist Richard Smith, we meet titanic dinosaurs and giant kangaroos, sea monsters and prehistoric crustaceans, disappearing mountains and deadly asteroids. Epic in scope, intimate in nature, this is the untold story of the land “down under,” the one island continent that has got it all.

Mother’s Day SATURDAY, JUNE 13 8PM
On the day before Mother’s Day 1993, Colin and Wendy Parry’s lives are torn apart when their youngest son Tim is killed in a terrorist attack by the IRA in Warrington’s town centre. The attack shocks ordinary people on both sides of the Irish Sea. Sue McHugh, an unassuming and normally shy Dublin housewife, is deeply affected by the tragedy. Spurred into action by the events in Warrington and the hope that she can make a difference, Sue urges people across Ireland to demonstrate that the killings on all sides must stop. But has Sue underestimated the challenge of brokering peace in a community that has known only conflict? As the grieving Parrys search desperately for answers to their son’s senseless killing, they form an alliance with Sue, her husband Arthur, and her Peace ‘93 movement, travelling to Dublin in a bid to bring about peace and ensure Tim’s enduring legacy is one of hope and tolerance. Based on real events.

LEARN AT HOME
Learn at Home is part of a new initiative to support educators and families who are learning remotely because of stay-at-home orders and school closures. We have reorganized some of our day time programming so there is now dedicated blocks of time for students to watch curriculum-based programming and pair it with educational resources on PBS LearningMedia. Due to last minute changes, our digital and printed schedule may have conflicting or incorrect information. 4 Learn more on p. 6

Hero Elementary is a school for budding superheroes, where kids learn to master their innate powers, like flying and teleportation, while exploring science along the way. The stories in Hero Elementary center around the Sparks’ Crew, a team of super students. Lucita Sky, AJ Gadgets, Sara Snap, and Benny Bubbles, led by their quirky and enthusiastic teacher, Mr. Sparks, work together to help people, solve problems, and try to make the world a better place. When their imperfect powers aren’t up to the task, they look to their other powers—the superpowers of science—to help them investigate, observe, make predictions, and figure out a solution.

As baby boomers downsize living spaces and settle estates, The Legacy List with Matt Paxton helps aging homeowners catalog a lifetime of belongings, locating treasured heirlooms and unexpected valuables in the attic, closet, or even under the floorboards. Host Matt Paxton, a nine-season veteran of A&E’s Hoarders, is joined by military memorabilia expert Avi Hopkins, fashion collectibles authority Jaime Ebanks, and Mike Kelleher, a walking encyclopedia of pop culture trinkets and antiques.
Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood put on a British baking masterclass while tackling the signature, technical and showstopper challenges from previous seasons. JUNE 12–18
