The White House: The Inside Story Airs 7pm Tuesday, July 12 Also 7/14 1am, 4am Enjoy this intimate behind-the-scenes historical tour of America’s most famous residence told through the first-person stories of First Family members, former employees, historians, members of the press and a rare informal interview with President Obama inside the Oval Office. In addition to President Obama and former President Jimmy Carter, this two-hour documentary features new interviews with First Ladies Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Barbara Bush and Rosalynn Carter reminiscing about their families’ place in the 200-year history of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. These personal stories are interwoven with historical facts about the “house that George Washington built.” First Lady Michelle Obama, for example, reveals that “the White House is a fabulously magical place to live, that’s not difficult to make a home.” Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter admits that thinking about the history of the White House “gives [her] chills.” And former First Lady Barbara Bush recalls, “You can feel history, and hope you can live up to it.”

Aging Out: Autism in Montana Airs 9pm Monday, July 11 Also 7/13 1am; 7/24 10am Each year, more children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, but the framework of care drastically changes for them after adolescence. In 2000, only one in 150 children were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, but that rate increased to one in 68 by 2010, according to the Center for Disease Control. The wave of children aging out of the school system and transitioning into adulthood leaves many people on a search for help and structure. Rural Montana families have fewer alternatives to create a plan for the future. Dianne Booth and her family are a prime example of that. Reed Point’s Dianne and Jim Booth worry about the future of their son with the programs available to them right now. Their son Logan, 22, is nonverbal and will never be able to live on his own. Coming from rural Montana, Dianne and Jim want Logan to stay in an agricultural setting for him to continue the lifestyle he has grown up with, but they are struggling with a lack of options. Follow the Booths and other Montana families as they recognize their fears and try to piece together a plan for the future.

N EW B R I TCO M !
May to December Airs 7:30pm Saturdays beginning July 9 Alec Callendar is a balding, small-town solicitor, with big-time dreams. He works at a typically suburban legal practice, but privately he wishes he were more like his hero, Perry Mason. One day, into his life walks an angel, Zoe Angell, who has come to consult him about a divorce. On the face of it, an aging widower and a 27-year-old physical education teacher should have nothing in common. But a mutual love of old musicals and a whimsical sense of humor spark a romance which surprises not just Alec and Zoe, but also the entire office staff, his two grown-up children and the rest of their families and friends. Alec and Zoe fall deeply in love, despite seemingly endless pitfalls. Can Perry offer Alec any advice on how to handle an independent career woman of the ‘90s? If not, there is plenty of conflicting advice from everyone else.

Seal (top) and the Italian Soprano Quartet will be performing on Night of the Proms in Antwerp.
Night of the Proms: Seal Airs 5pm Sunday, July 17 Seal, the British soul singer and pop star, will be the headliner at the first AIDA Night of the Proms concert this season. At the tour kick-off in Hamburg on November 25th, 2011, he performed with Alison Moyet, the Italian soprano quartet Div4s and John Miles. The tour, which is in its 17th year, will remain true to its “Classic Meets Pop” motto with its new sponsor and will be featuring popular hits from over 300 years of music history. The stars will be accompanied by the Il Novecento Symphony Orchestra and the Fine Fleur Choir, directed by Robert Groslot. In booking Seal, the tour organizers have managed to get one of the most successful solo artists of the 90s to headline. Seal’s trademark is his distinctive, emotionally rich voice. He effortlessly crosses over from soul to R&B and rock when he sings. As a Grammy and Brit Award winner he has sold over 15 million records over the course of his career. His breakout hits included “Crazy” and “Kiss from a Rose”. With 2003’s “Love’s Divine” he rose to the top of the charts and since then he has delivered a series of other catchy tunes.

Airs 2:30pm Monday–Friday Voiced by award-winning actor Martin Short, Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat guides friends Sally and Nick—with a little help from the Fish, Thing 1 and Thing 2—on fun-filled adventures where they make natural-science discoveries, from how bees make honey to why owls sleep during the day. Filled with both adventure and silliness, The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That!, based on the acclaimed The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library book series, appeals to preschoolers’ natural curiosity, and engages them in the process of scientific exploration and discovery.

Increase the impact of your donation Did you know that with a matching gift you can sometimes double or even triple the power of your gift? Your company may match your gift to MontanaPBS and increase the total amount of your contribution.
Here’s how it works Check with your Human Resources office to see if they offer a matching gift program. If they do, they will match your gift to a certain level. All you need to do is pick up your company’s required form and send it to us—we’ll take care of the rest. Below is a limited list of organizations who participate in matching gift programs. If you are a current or retired employee of one of these companies, they may match your contribution. IBM Chevron Conoco Phillips Exxon Mobile Foundation First Interstate Bank General Mills 3M Foundation UPS Foundation Home Depot Foundation
BNSF Foundation DOW Chemical Co. AT&T Foundation GlaxoSmithKline Foundation Northwestern Energy Davidson Companies ING Foundation Boeing Company Oracle
Zoot Enterprises General Electric Plum Creek US Bank Corp Macy’s Mitchell’s Oil Field Service DA Davidson and Company
If your company is not listed, ask your personnel department if they have a matching gift program—many do. Maybe yours does too! Your generosity will go that much further in support of public television and MontanaPBS. Thank you! Send your companies matching gift form to: Friends of MontanaPBS · P.O.
