Summer is a chance to explore places you haven't been to, go to the beach with your friends, and most importantly, sleep! Unfortunately, with the current situation, sleep seems to be the only thing we can do (which is great :D).

JOSELYN LI | VICE PRESIDENT I'm the 2020-2021 Key Club Vice President! I love to sleep and procrastinate a lot. I also like to draw, but I usually end up doing homework the entire time. I also love boba and I love being able to make people happy because it makes me happy :)
JOYCE TONG | SECRETARY My heart is full of LOVE to serve as your 2020-2021 Key Club Secretary! In my spare time, I enjoy making graphics for our Instagram page and making newsletters, such as this one. My go-to boba order is Thai Tea and I love making people smile :D

SERVICE SERVICE at home Getting service hours has never been this easy! While quarantined at home, you have tons of opportunities to stay active and serve. Hopefully, you can all participate in at least one of these fun (and simple!) service projects.
VIRTUAL TUTORING Whether it be a friend or a sibling, tutor (without charging, of course), use your skills to help everyone learn.
hours rewarded = exact amount of time spent
12
DOG TOYS This one's for dog-owners (or if you just want to make a dog-toy)! Find an old T-Shirt, a pair of scissors, and something to tie (rubber bands). Cut the T-Shirt into 3 sections, braid together, and tie.
hours rewarded = max 2
SIDEWALK CHALK Write or draw something positive for your community. Show your creative side to bring a smile to everyone's face when they walk past it.
hours rewarded = exact amount of time spent
Thank you Joyce Tong for this photo!
13
COOK FOR YOUR FAMILY What better way to win your family members' hearts than with food? Make breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a snack to show your appreciation for your family.
hours rewarded = exact amount of time spent
CRAFT A GIFT FOR YOUR FAMILY Show your family your creative side by making a thoughtful gift. It doesn't have to be extravagant, just something that will make them smile.
hours rewarded = max 3
14
DO YOUR CHORES Do a chore without being asked, or do a sibling's chore! Both ways will earn not only service hours, but also the love and affection from your family.
hours rewarded = max 3
Thank you Chelsea Cao for this photo!
WRITE APPRECIATION LETTERS This can be for a parent, a teacher, or even a friend. Let everyone know how thankful you are for them by writing and mailing letters.
hours rewarded = max 3 15

How’s it going Mustangs?!
My name is Caroline Lobel and I proudly serve you all as Division 26 South’s Lieutenant Governor. I’m a rising senior over at Dougherty Valley High School and in my fourth and final term of serving in Key Club. My main job is to act as a liaison between the CaliforniaNevada-Hawaii District and all 10 Key Clubs in our division, including Monte Vista!
I was so excited to hear that MVKC was starting a newsletter! You all are lucky to have such a passionate and committed officer board serving you this term. I had the privilege of meeting with them for club visitations a few weeks ago and was impressed by the motivation and enthusiasm they all had about taking MVKC to new heights.
My message for you all this month is to appreciate your club officers for leading you (especially during a whole pandemic!) and to participate in the events that they find for you. I also encourage you to get more involved with the Key Club organization outside of the club level by attending the division events listed in this newsletter. Attending division events allows you to meet and hopefully become friends with Key Clubbers outside of Monte Vista! With a

summer in quarantine comes plenty of time to volunteer and meet new people.
There’s a division mailing list that I’d love for you all to join! This way, you’ll receive weekly updates about what’s happening in both our CNH District and D26S. I’ll be here to support you ALL, not just your club officers, throughout the entire term, so please reach out to me if you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns!
Always serving with a SMILE, Caroline Lobel
