Texas “Stellar Performance” by the Weekly Montgomery ISD Fishing Team Gas Prices (October 19, 2020) Texas gas prices have fallen 0.8 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.86/g today, according to GasBuddy's daily s u r v ey o f 1 3 , 11 4 stations. Gas prices in Texas are 0.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 42.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Texas is priced at $1.44/g today while the most expensive is $2.69/g, a difference of $1.25/g. The lowest price in the state today is $1.44/g while the highest is $2.69/g, a difference of $1.25/g. The national average price of gasoline has fallen 2.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.15/g today. The national average is down 1.7 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 50.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. "Gas prices have continued to remain subdued in large part due to the stalemate in Wa s h i n g t o n t h a t ' s holding back another round of stimulus for Americans, which could boost the economy and oil demand and help Americans get back to work," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy. "Absent some resolve from lawmakers to boost the economy, we're likely in store for another week of sideways price movements, keeping average gas prices near current levels for the fourth straight month. The combined squad of 40 Teams from both Lake Creek & Montgomery High Schools, converged on Lake Somerville with two things in mind. Number one, win the Texas High School Bass Association Houston Division Conference Tournament over the other 23 Houston

for the Houston Division, smashed the competition with a 5 Bass Limit for 19.57 pounds, and winning the Individual Team First Place by over 3 pounds. Their Captain, and “Local Legend” Julian Clepper indicated that “even though they looked like they had a tremendous day, they only had six bites, and were able to catch 5 of them.” He went on to say that “the kids worked hard, fishing all the way their allotted time of 3:00 p.m., and caught them on a mixture of topwaters and soft

plastics.” Following Clepper & Ford were Jack Middlebrook and Kaden Harmann bringing in a 5 Fish limit for 13.93 pounds, securing 4th Place. MADD, Police Chief Recognize Local Hero SHENANDOA H, TEXAS (October 16, 2020) – The Shenandoah Police Department was recognized for their efforts in the fight against DWI offenses even though Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) were unable to hold their 2020 "Take The Wheel Law Enforcement Award and Recognition Event for Harris and Montgomery Counties" due to the pandemic. The annual event recognizes officers, departments and agencies for their efforts to reduce the number of drunk and drugged motorists on Houston area roads. Each agency submits the name of their officer with the highest number of DWI cases during the previous year, highlighting their impact in the fight to prevent needless accidents and deaths caused by impaired drivers. Shenandoah Officer Jeremiah Ledesma was recently recognized for his DWI arrest record at Shenandoah PD for the year 2019. He was presented his award at the October 14 Shenandoah City Council meeting by Lieutenant Jake Reuvers and Chief Troye Dunlap. Ledesma is currently assigned to patrol under Sgt. Justin Atherton. Ledesma was raised in Central Texas and is currently attending Sam Houston State University where he will be graduating soon with a degree in Criminal Justice. He joined the Shenandoah Police Department in January 2018. While at the podium receiving accolades for his DWI work, Ledesma was also presented with a Chief of Police Letter of Commendation for an incident in September of this year. “While working an extra job, Officer Ledesma became aware of a man collapsed in the parking lot,” said Dunlap. “He found the man to be nonresponsive, called EMS and began performing CPR. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add

onions and garlic and sauté for several minutes, or until starting to soften. Add Italian sausage and ground beef and cook until browned. Drain off fat, leaving a bit behind for flavor and moisture. 2. Add tomatoes, tomato juice, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes. After that time, remove 3 to 4 cups of the sauce to a different bowl to cool down. 3. Preheat oven to 375?. In a separate bowl,

mix together the ricotta cheese, 2 cups of the grated mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, and salt and pepper. Stir together just a couple of times (do not mix completely). 4. Drain the pasta and rinse under cool water to stop the cooking and cool it down. Pour it into the bowl with the cheese mixture and toss to slightly combine (there should still be large lumps.) Add the cooled meat sauce and toss to combine. 5. Add half the coated pasta to a large casserole

How in the world can anybody vote for a candidate that promises to raise their taxes? “A couple other “clinkers” in this wild probably corrupt election is the false promise for free health care and college tuition for all” – how can anybody believe that? Another is the “Green New Deal!” They are going to stop drilling for oil and manufacturing gas that will put millions of workers out of a job. Additionally, they will force you to buy an electric car because there is no gasoline, and the beat goes on of lies, lies and more lies from the democrats. world is essential to eliminate the control by those who want to create dystopian totalitarianism. This is an important time not only to pray for humanity’s freedom, and also to speak up that we do not consent to the mass s u r v e i llance/tracking/forced vaccinations that are being proposed right now. This is part of the New World Order agenda that I am pretty sure most of us do not want to live in (they are counting on people, out of their fear of getting sick, to cede all freedom to the government). This is not only an illegal breach of our Constitutional rights but violates Divine laws of free will. Unless of course the people consent. And that is where each of you come in. Let’s think with our hearts and not allow the media to tell us what to think or believe when they share the worst possible horror stories, as heartbreaking as they are. We can see with our own eyes the truth if one chooses to see. Meditation and connecting with light will open the third eye, allowing the news to tell you what to think will keep it closed. If people would pause and take some deep breaths, clear out the thoughts to get out of fight or flight and back into rational thinking… it would change the world. It is surprising that more people, who are caring people, are not thinking about what is happening to families living in paycheck to paycheck who have lost their livelihoods, with parents and children who are socially isolated and who may not have money for food let alone the ability for support. It’s a narrow, and actually privileged, focus based on our own selfpreservation (not wanting to get sick) and based only on what we are being blasted by the media (which is a skewed perspective). Still, there are many in social services who are doing the best they can to help those families who are really struggling with this. And for that we owe you much gratitude. Consider that there are so many sides to this

equation beyond the limited narrative that we are being shown about what is happening with this virus. It’s not as simple as one would think if you believe every sound bite from any of the major news outlet (which are controlled by the same 4-5 corporations). Connect the dots and follow the money (the people claiming to be working on a “vaccine” and tracking people’s movements). It’s all laid out as to what they are trying to do and I for one do not consent. When it comes to life and death, irrational thinking can take over. Chronic anxiety and stress (and worrying about getting sick) are. We can take precautions without going overboard. Remember that the media overblows things and finds the worst possible stories to create mass fear and hysteria. For some, it seems to be working. Yes, some people will get sick. It’s heartbreaking, yet we choose this as part of our soul contracts in the Akashic Records (when we die). It’s all part of the soul growth and healing the Earth. We could walk around every day worrying about if we might get hit by a car, and while this could happen, as long as we are not walking in the middle of a busy street, what good does that type of thought do? Of course we want to keep ourselves and others safe and healthy I am doing my best to do that. But I am not willing to trade my freedom and basic rights for it. We have seen throughout history that governments are much less likely to remove powers once that have been institute. The fear of death is very real and it could be the end of a free society if we aren’t careful. The fact is, we are being vastly manipulated by those we think we should trust. Are we willing to relinquish our freedom (information, opinion, choice) for a world where people condemn and judge others? It is the ultimate form of dystopia is when citizens report and turn against each other (and get angry when people don’t

This has been their plan, either to depopulate the Earth through the virus (forces of light intervened to minimize this – so are we now taking reasonable precautions to prevent this, as most will recover just like with other viruses), or to create a police state to control through one world government. They are trying to back us into a corner of a no-win situation, but they don’t understand that people are awakening and understanding how vibration and energy and love works. Love and forgiveness, even for these dark controllers, is the key to our freedom. I was still feeling sad when I was at the grocery store the other day, observing so much fear around me with all of the masks. Then this fun but kind of cheesy song, “Put A Little Love in Your Heart, came over the loudspeaker and brought tears to my eyes. It gives me such hope, and reminds me of how our Divine guides are with us through this all. I deeply believe there is a better way coming, an awakening and a shift in

consciousness. We must be willing to see beneath the layers of illusion and lies of what we are told by our governments. We must be brave enough to open our third eyes. To those who are open to healing, to connecting the dots and seeing the truth, I honor you. Love, kindness, caring, compassion, forgiveness is the way. Let’s continue to send light and prayers for people being ignored by the media who are worrying about where they will live or how they will eat in this time. Many people are opening their eyes. Let’s continue to ask for angelic light to help open hearts and minds to the truth. May we all do the same. AG Paxton Sues Google for Illegally Maintaining Monopolies in Internet Search and Search Advertising Services AUSTIN –Attorney General Ken Paxton announced today that Texas is suing Google for engaging in anticompetitive and exclusionary practices that eliminate competition for internet searches and search advertising. Texas is joining the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ) and the States of Arkansas, Florida,

Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, and South Carolina in filing an antitrust suit challenging G o o g l e ’s e x c l u s i o n a r y business practices. Google’s illegal conduct has allowed it to dominate the search industry by requiring exclusivity from business partners and avoiding

competition on the merits while shielding itself from competitors who might threaten its market share. “Google’s anticompetitive business strategies have disrupted the competitive process, reduced consumer choice, and stifled innovation,” said Attorney General Paxton. “The violations set forth in

the complaint show that Google no longer resembles the innovative startup it was 20 years ago. Our action today is intended to restore competition and allow rivals and next generation search engines to challenge Google so that the marketplace, not a monopolist, will decide how search services and search ads are offered.”

The complaint explains that Google’s practices have harmed competition for search services and search advertising not only on mobile devices and personal computers but also on emerging search access points, such as voice assistants, smart speakers, automobiles, and Internet of Things devices. Google’s

practices have harmed consumers by reducing choices in areas like privacy, data protection, and use of consumer data, ultimately diminishing the quality of search services. Google’s anticompetitive conduct has also given it the ability to increase advertisers’ costs and reduce the quality of its advertising services.

Agriculture Education Is The Latest Covid-19 Victim An Editorial by Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller Agriculture can be a tough business. As an eighth-generation farmer and rancher, I am very familiar with the ups and downs brought on by drought, windstorms, hail, flooding, market fluctuation and government regulation. For that reason, it can often be hard to keep farming and ranching as a family business. When faced with the easier opportunities today’s world offers our kids, agriculture can be a pretty hard sell. It takes a special

young man or young woman to step up and choose agriculture. Fortunately, thousands of young people do. By participating in their school agriculture education programs, these talented young people put their passion for agriculture into practice. By raising and showing livestock, they see the agriculture industry from the inside out, and learn valuable life skills about hard work, perseverance and striving for success. As an ag education teacher myself, I know that when they participate, not only

do we ensure the continuity of agriculture, we get a better class of citizen as a result. This is why the recent announcement of the cancellation of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is a sucker punch to these young men and women. While these kids lose a once-in-alifetime opportunity to compete and learn realworld lessons through victory or defeat, there’s another consequence of this cancellation. They’re also losing an opportunity to earn winnings and scholarship money to further their education. To say nothing of the money that parents have invested in the agriculture education pursuits of their children, or the damage to our local businesses who have lost yet another opportunity to sell goods and services. The decision by the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Executive Committee has a direct and harsh negative financial impact on ag families across the region, placing a real financial hardship on families already struggling to survive this pandemic. This cancellation is

even harder to explain, when it follows so closely on the heels of major announcements at which large, national events such as the National Finals Rodeo, Cowboy Christmas, National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Championship Futurity and Professional Bull Riding are welcomed with open arms into the very same city. To be clear, I support these events and am excited they’re coming to Texas. These events will be a huge boost to the local economy, while h i g h l i g h t i n g Te x a s agriculture and western sports. But they provide a stark contrast to the cancellation of the FWSSR, and the crushing of so many hopes and dreams of young people striving to stay passionate about agriculture. To add insult to injury, parents are having to explain to their disappointed kids that the entire FWSSR was cancelled not just due to COVID-19 – which we’ve all become accustomed to – but because of the onset of flu season. Flu season? Really?

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo survived 120 years of hardship, not even cancelling because of World War I, the Great Depression or, no, not even for the 1918 Flu Pandemic. The only closure was in 1943 when most of the young men were off fighting Nazis instead of raising livestock. To compound this embarrassment, this cancellation is happening in the midst of the great reawakening of Texas from its COVID-19 slumber. Every day, more businesses are reopening, people are getting back to work, kids are going back to school, and events are stampeding back to the Lone Star State. Yet as Texas speeds towards renormalization, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo can be seen headed the other way, in full retreat. Folks, this is Texas. We built this state -- this former republic -through grit and determination, and that same grit and determination is evident in our fight against this virus. Yet, as the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Executive Committee

Make no mistake, the decision to cancel this event was made not because of doctors, but because of lawyers. I regret this cancellation for the impact it has not just on the rural communities at the heart of agriculture, but for the future of our entire ag industry. Texas farmers and ranchers feed and clothe America and the world. How can the next generation of farmers and ranchers continue to do that when institutions like the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo fail them here at home? Enough is enough. “Most of the time, these tests indicate that Texas county chairs, who are responsible for arranging candidates on the ballot, are doing so randomly,” Grant said. “But there are some exceptions in both parties.” In these instances, Grant suggested that some county chairs are not determining ballot order randomly. The most notable exception on the Texas Democratic side occurred in the 2018 primary for U.S. Senator, in which eventual nominee Beto O’Rourke was listed first on 118 counties’ ballots, far greater than the 85 expected from random chance. On the Republican

side, the most notable exception occurred in the March presidential primary, in which incumbent Donald Trump was listed first 52 times, well more than the 36 times that would be expected from random chance. From Grant’s tests, the strongest evidence of ballot order manipulation in West Virginia occurred in the 2020 Democratic primary for U.S. Senator and the 2020 Republican gubernatorial primary. “In some cases, in West Virginia, it appears that Democratic clerks are setting the order one way and Republican clerks are setting it the other way. Fortunately, in these cases,

the outcome of the election was not affected,” Grant said. Studies show that ballot order does, in fact, affect the outcome of a small number of elections. “That is why it is important for it to be randomized throughout the state. The tests developed in my paper can help ensure that this does, in fact, happen,” Grant said. Grant’s paper has been placed on the Social Science Research Network and can be found here. All of a sudden, into our busy life, a virus has given us more time to pursue different interests. Some have more time for their children. Others have more time for hobbies and other creative outlets. Still others have more time to read some books of the Bible where people of that day had harsh times to go through, also. For instance, there’s Job and

Paul. Each of these men had a real life – not a perfect one. Each had encounters with God or Jesus as they lived out their lives. Let’s have a look at Job. He was a rich desert king with a wife and children, along with much livestock. So satan visited God and asked Him permission to irritate Job’s life to find out if his faith was really as deep as God had said. God allowed satan to do that, but he couldn’t kill Job. So in the end, Job passed his test, and satan was dismissed by God. Job stayed faithful and God restored all his

Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.” It is not uncommon to make a wish list at Christmas, or to draw up a list of resolutions for New Years. There is another list we often overlook, a Thanksgiving Day list of all for which we are thankful for. Like you, I’m sure, my list would include the major things in life. Health, family, friends, and the nation we live in, despite all its flaws. But even more than that, I’m

thankful for my salvation, our church family, and the mercy that God gives to us each day. With Jesus we have so much for which to c e l e b r a t e o n Thanksgiving! children, lands, riches, and livestock. Scripture says: “After this, Job lived 140 years, and he saw his sons and his grandsons, four generations. And Job died, an old man and full of days.” Job 42:16-17. So even though Job questioned God about all the losses he experienced, God showed him exactly Who He is – and Job never questioned Him again. He just stuck to the path with his deep faith in God to always help him through all problems. In the meantime, we, like Job, accomplish what He has for us to do in helping

others and faithfully serve H i m . We e n r i c h o u r Christian life with God’s plans to help all those who are needy. So now we’ll look at Paul’s life. Paul was, at one time, probably one of the most unlikely people to follow Jesus. He was a learned scholar before he became a volatile persecutor of all Christians. Yet, through an encounter on the road to Damascus, Jesus appeared to him and that meeting changed Paul’s whole perspective and life to come. Paul then went on to all the main centers of the known world and altered the course of

h i s t o r y, e s t a b l i s h i n g Christian churches. Jesus had a path laid out for “Saul” to become “Paul.” After Paul was struck blind and then healed, his life took on a great enrichment of God’s love, forgiveness, and freed his guilty heart of past persecutions of Christians. Paul went on to create churches all over the known world at that time in history. His letters to these churches are found in our New Testament, and have many helps for the down-trodden. He had to overcome many trials, jail time, shipwrecks, and escapes from death as he

went to the places the Lord led him. He spread the gospel by enriching the Good News of salvation to the Jews and Gentiles, alike. Jesus, then, tells us how we are to follow Him as His disciples: “So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free.’ “ John 8:31-32. It doesn’t commemorate a battle or anyone’s birthday or anniversary. It is simply a day set aside to express our nations thanks to our nation’s God. I think that the 100th Psalm was written to remind us of our need to be thankful, and to maintain an attitude of gratitude. I believe that there is a real danger in this season of determining our thanksgiving on the basis of how much we have, or worse, how much we don’t have. We let these things determine whether we are thankful or not. The Psalmist says that all of these things may change at any time. The only thing we have for sure is our relationship with the Lord. And that is what the 100th Psalm emphasizes. The

basis of our thanksgiving is the Lord. God made us, inside and out. He made you the way He wanted you to be. The question is, are we making ourselves the way God wants us to be? He created us in His image. Therefore, give Him thanks for who you are. “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever. His faithfulness

continues through all generations.” “O Lord, help us to be thankful that you do not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities" (Psalm 103:10). I pray that this will be a meaningful Thanksgiving season for you and all your family. Take time to read the 100th Psalm again. And if you’ll heed those commands, your heart will overflow with thanksgiving to the Lord.

Community “SpookTacular” Halloween Day Celebration at The Woodlands Children’s Museum THE WOODLANDS, TX – We skip the candy and the fright and offer a day time Halloween carnival that is sure to treat our youngest guests with “booful” delight! T h e Wo o d l a n d s Children’s Museum is, once again hosting, its annual SpookTacular event from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, October 31st. Dress in costume and enjoy live music with Tom’s Fun Band, non-scary magic with Professor Hughdini, Monster Mash reading with Ms. Jan, slime making, face painting, mummy wrapping, age-appropriate games and Halloweenthemed art projects perfect for little ones under age 7. “This is one of our favorite events each year,” stated Angela Colton, the m u s e u m ’s E x e c u t i v e D i r e c t o r. “ We a d o r e watching the children dig for spooky treasure in our sensory bins, play ring toss with the pumpkins, bob for marshmallows on a string and knock over monster pins in our bowling game. It creates wonderful memories for families in a safe and enriching environ-

ment. Instead of sugary treats, we give small prizes for children to enjoy.” Understanding that Halloween can be a scary time for toddlers, the museum is decorated in a colorful theme that is designed for smiles and laughter. Crowd size and noise are also limited so that young children are not overwhelmed. This year, the museum will offer six session times: 10am-12pm, 11am-1pm, 12pm-2pm, 1pm-3pm, 2pm-4pm, and 3pm-5pm. Staff will be cleaning and disinfecting throughout the day. Visitors are required to wear PPE masks, use provided hand sanitizer and have their temperature taken upon entering the museum. Children under 10 will not be required to wear a mask…except, hopefully, all young ones will be in costume. SPCA PETS SNAP of Montgomery County Hosts Fashion Show Fund Raiser SPCA PETS SNAP of Montgomery County (a 5 0 1 c 3 , a l l v o l u n t e e r, animal rescue organization with a no-kill policy for adoptable pets) for the last 10 years, has hosted a yearly unique fashion show fund raiser where canine companions walk the runway with human models. In 2019, the event morphed from Doggies & Divas to Pooches & Patriots, where local heroes accompanied our rescue animals. We were anticipating and planning for another event to occur in October 2020. Well the pandemic put a "stay and sit" on all of that! For safety and health reasons, we decided to cancel this year's major fundraiser. Unfortunately, our furry little friends don't realize that there is a problem. They still need to be rescued and cared for so that they can become happy and healthy. A lot of that care costs money. So we had to brain storm and come up with an idea that would raise much needed funds in a safe and responsible manner. Hence "Raffle for Rover (and Kitty too!) was formed. People can purchase tickets either online or by stopping by booths at various locations in our area. (A list of locations, days and times are below.)
