SACRAMENTO BUDDHIST CHURCH
August 10, 2024 | Sacramento
“On Saturday, August 10, I volunteered for the Sacramento Buddhist Church. This was an event that was located in the downtown Sacramento area. There were many volunteers from D7N, D7S,and D7W, considering it was a big event. This event was quite fun & interesting, as I got to learned what the event was about. But also getting to meet other divisions and working with them. I worked in the food packaging area, food prep, cleaning/drying and more. It was a hot day, in Sacramento Valley, I had a lot of fun getting to know the adults who were in charge of these events and how much effort everyone helped with, as they were very friendly and upbeat! In the end, I’m always amaze and fulfilled being able to do my part for the communities.”

BANANA FESTIVAL
August 17-18, 2024 | Sacramento
“The 13th Annual Banana Festival was located in Sacramento William Land Park. It was a family friendly event that was held for two days and it was filled with excitement. The evening celebrated countries in the world where/how bananas grow, their cultures, ethnic diversity, food, and lovely music. There were captivating performances, beautifully choreographed and lively music. In this festival, volunteers were busy helping in stations and walking everywhere to offer additional help. The atmosphere was further elevated by a variety of food trucks offering a delightful array of dishes, sweets, and enchanting aromas, adding to the overall charm of the event. The combination of performances, live music, banana games and live parades pull together the feel of a funfilled day or night at the Annual Banana Festival.”

LCKC CLUB RUSH PREP
August 18, 2024 | Elk Grove
“While club rush is right around the corner, Key Club has been preparing lots for the new 24-25 school year! This weekend, the entire Key Club executive and extended board gathered together to create new poster boards and props for club rush. We spent about 5 hours at a board members’ house and it was also an amazing bonding experience. Everyone collaborated ideas and we all got to share our parts to help benefit the making of these posters and other props. Lots of orange and monsters were included! It was super fun, though it can take a while, patience and collaboration goes a long way! See you all at club rush”
