Aside from the separate presentations of schools, individuals and manufacturers, this will be the largest showcase of Czech design abroad. After last year's Design and Transformation exhibition, held in Brussels in the wake of the Czech EU Presidency last year, Czech design is once again getting the chance to resonate internationally, and this time even more strongly. The exhibition will take place from 17th to 23rd April, during the Salone del Mobile international show, in the La Triennale building in the centre of Milan. This is one of the most prestigious cultural institutions where design, architecture, performing and visual arts have been meeting since the 1920’s, and where major retrospectives and shows have been held.

More than 40 artists and creative groups will be represented in the exhibition, including the most prestigious manufacturers and exporters of Czech glass, along with leading porcelain factories. In total, more than 50 exhibits will be displayed in an exhibition installation, the concept of which was designed by Maxim Velčovský and architecturally designed by the edit! Studio.

"The ambition of Made by Fire is not only to be an exhibition of beautiful objects by Czech artists or a classic art history show, but through their works in porcelain, ceramics and glass, to thematise current social issues that move the world.
