FIA2 - Art as Lens Experimental Folio
Reflective statement The focus for my folio was a rosary. I explored the rosary throughout multiple lenses that were previously investigated in class. In my folio, the most successful experiments are the ones included as they showed my divergent thinking and developing of ideas. There are two dimensional and time based works included in my folio. The rosary is used in a personal context because there is meaning attached to it. My grandmother gave it to me but I unfortunately damaged it with water so I cannot wear it any longer.
Reflective statement continued My folio was influenced by artist William Kentridge, who was best known for animated drawings. Although I did not make my experiments animated it was my goal to make pieces that really pop from the page like his. My second artist was Leigh Schoenheimer because her unique works are almost always mixed media, and this was also prevalent in my experiments.
