FIA2 – experimental folio
Reflective statement The focus for my experimental folio was my pop’s war medallions and investigated them through different lenses. In this folio, only the experiments that best showed divergent thinking where included. Through Twodimensional, three-dimensional, and time-based works and the inquiry leaning model. These war medallions were used in both a personal and contemporary context. As they represent my pop’s sacrifice and the honour and bravery displayed around the world when fighting for what you believe in.
Reflective statement continued My folio was influenced by artists who use art to tell a story or narrative. These artists showed that there are many lenses to accomplish this. Pablo Pacasso showed that one can extract certain aspects and emphasise other to create an abstract artwork. While Frida Kahlo showed that one can use objects to convey a deeper meaning than what is portrayed upon the surface. I connected these ideas to the war medallions by abstracting certain parts and emphasising them to convey meaning.
