Focus — Inquiry phase 3 In response to IA3 focus ‘Art as Alternate’ , my resolved body of work abandons the expression of reality imagery based of logic and experienced memory, and alternately presents the image world through by deep spiritual essence. My focus revolving my ‘inner self’ is represented through my subconscious and unconscious control over ones behaviour and thought essence into the human’s soul. Insight into ones deep psychology through instinctive impulses, repressed desires and ones behaviour, are expressed through my surrealist dreamlike experiences. My work is able to represent a symbolization liberation of spiritual essence as the backbone into my identity and aims to communicate personal experiences between subconscious and conscious reality. This idea of personal communication between my conscious and subconscious flow can be expressed through emotional responses, that aims to prove how human behaviour is the product of endless perceptions, feelings and thoughts that further questions, how does this construct our understanding of the world?

Developing: • Personal context: Inspired by my deep interaction with personal memories, indicative of my families cultures connections that I grew more understanding of my family's British heritage. • Interconnectedness between inherent memories and savored places, are expressed through recollections of autobiographical photographs that aligns with personal milestones in shaping one’s identity. Researching: • My personal interconnection to places and my family, was inspired by artist Andy Denzler approach to photographs of figures and everyday objects that I could content and reconnect with. • Inspired by Andy’s distorted photorealism, I challenged the idea of tracing my grandparent’s journey through England and visually constructed personal maps in a 3D flip book to emphasize the still life experience through collecting. • Interconnecting the possession of my grandparents' belongings of clothes, gifts and personal objects, the flip book technique added a sensory experience Through voiceovers of my grandma sharing historical experiences. Reflecting: • Andy’s manipulation of photographing portrait figures and interior scenes, continued through my resolved work that permeated the photographs Into pieces of wooden blocks adding meaning of family strength, protection and survival in sharing a story.

My revolved installation aims to reveals one’s hidden subconscious state, in expressing the ‘inner self’ through a presentation of a dreamlike atmosphere. My collaborative portrait figures and 3D digital manipulation expressed by various fantasy scenes, was alternate in communicating one’s life experiences and living identity comes from one’s sheltered subconscious indirectly visible. Through manipulating abstract techniques to represent my personal expression and symbolization of my subconscious, my individual creation thinking replaces my own rational personal experiences through aesthetic products of my identity in behavior and thought.

The area of study: The ‘subconscious mind’ that visualizes the image worlds in my deep psychology, was inspired by surrealist artists ‘Salvador Dali’ and ‘Joy Hester’ use of subconscious symbols In symbolizing one’s personal nostalgia as a free mobility of consciousness. Freud’s subconscious theory as a repository for thoughts and feelings through visual imagery of ‘dreams’, coded expressions of unconscious fears, conflicts and violence as the most fundamental motive power shaping one's identity. Through depicting the subconscious experience as a loss of human control, my revolved installation created a theatrical experience direct of my emotions, feelings and unrecognised experiences in a physical form to reveal the realm of ‘dreams’

My digital and surrealist manipulation in depicting my imagination of inner thoughts and personal creativity, deeply enhances my instinctive impulses and reveals human’s spiritual essence in the depths of the human soul. Collaborative works of my abstract portraits and 3D sensory experiences, extract personal visuals from my personal creativity and manipulate hidden emotions and experiences to depict my subconscious state. Through physically visualizing the reflection of my personal experiences and psychological state, my personal interest in manipulating imagery and symbols witnessed from my dreams further emphasizes the role of the conscious and subconscious as one’s identity.
