Title: Artist:
Drawing and Painting Atmospheric Painting Elizabeth A
Artist Statement I have chosen Del Katheryn Barton, as I love how she uses lots of colour and meaning behind her artwork and I have been influenced to create an artwork through her style techniques and processes. Her artwork incorporates vibrant figurative imagery, decorative and highly detailed portrait techniques using watercolour, gouache. Numerous elements and principles of design are used throughout the painting, for example, line, shape and pattern, but mostly colour used beautifully throughout the artwork. Barton’s work
is a contemporary art movement which is a globally influenced, culturally diverse, and a technologically advancing world which is produced in the second half of the 20th century and incorporates loads of brightness and vibrant colours and techniques. mixing colours together is not as easy as it looks.
Title: Artist:
Drawing and Painting Atmospheric Painting Isabella K
Artist Statement Euan Macleod was the chosen artist to reference due to his pieces having a very reflective meaning behind them and having the ability to convey emotion without any facial expression in the figure being indicated. The way Macleod uses techniques of adding immense detail and texture into backgrounds had a big influence on the piece I created.
Title: Artist:
Drawing and Painting Atmospheric Painting Lucy M
Artist Statement The style that Del Kathryn Barton uses is a combination of watercolour, acrylic paint, gouache etc. In her paintings and artworks, she uses are wide variety of different techniques which include. I have chosen to focus on Barton because here artworks really drew my attention because of the colour, shape and style she was using it was a unique and different process and I had never seen anyone do something like that before.
Title: Artist:
Drawing and Painting Atmospheric Painting Mai L
Artist Statement I chose to use Euan MacLeod’s style of painting as influence in my own work because he uses very loose and abstract strokes to create an impressionistic style. He uses pallet knifes, oil and acrylic paints as well as canvas and paper to make his masterpieces.
Title: Artist:
Drawing and Painting Atmospheric Painting Molly A
Artist Statement Euan Macleod is an Australian artist who was born in New Zealand and later moved to Sydney in 1981 to pursue art. He has also received a diploma in the Fine Arts. His artwork is unique as he used a pallet knife instead of a paint brush to create texture and create an abstract appearance. I have chosen Euan Macleod to reference as I was inspired by the unique texture of his paintings and how the use of colour and different shades give the artwork a moody feel.
Title: Artist:
Drawing and Painting Atmospheric Painting Pani S
Artist Statement Jon Cattapan is a Melbourne base artist who works primarily with representing urban topographic and narratives. Cattapan works in the traditional mediums of painting and drawing, though his starting point is often digital. The decision to appropriate Cattapan’s work was motivated by an appreciation for the aesthetic and the surrealistic style. As such, I have been motivated to replicate his figures by drawing vague characters with little features but accurate proportions. His use of vibrant and atypical colours was also incorporated into my own work.
Title: Artist:
Drawing and Painting Atmospheric Painting Priya D
Artist Statement I choose del Kathryn Barton as her style or art looks very exciting as it uses a lot of colour and different shapes and creatures are used throughout her art works. She uses water colour and acrylic which is one of my favourite materials when creating something as the colour combinations look nice together when the product is finished.
Title: Artist:
Drawing and Painting Atmospheric Painting Sophie M
Artist Statement I personally chose the artist Laith McGregor for my assessment due to the fact this artist has managed to use an everyday pen to create an artwork so realistic. Additionally, the appearance looks modern and relatable to everyday life.
